More than 60 Coinbase employees have taken an exit package after CEO Brian Armstrong said in a controversial blog\u00a0post\u00a0last month that the company would not participate in social activism.<\/p>\n

The San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange offered all employees an exit package if they didn\u2019t agree with the company\u2019s pledge to not take a stand on issues outside its business goals.<\/p>\n

60 employees or 5% of Coinbase\u2019s workforce, have taken the deal, Armstrong\u00a0said\u00a0Thursday, and a number of conversations are still ongoing, meaning the final number could be higher.<\/p>\n

The discussion around Coinbase\u2019s politics started internally this summer when the company didn\u2019t release a statement supporting Black Lives Matter, causing a virtual walkout among employees,\u00a0Wired\u00a0reported.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
