Sunny Hostin of \u201cThe View\u201d is facing intense backlash for suggesting wealthy blacks have it harder in America than poor whites.<\/p>\n

Said during an episode of \u201cThe View\u201d that aired last month, the comments are just now going viral. The comments come specifically from an episode during which the co-hosts of the show discussed the Supreme Court\u2019s decision to nix affirmative action.<\/p>\n

Amid that discussion, Hostin said this: \u201cThe lived experience of a white kid in Appalachia or perhaps on a potato farm in Idaho is different in this country for a black student, whether that black student be wealthy or not, because this country was founded on slavery.\u201d<\/p>\n

The suggestion was that, because America was allegedly founded on slavery (more on this later), then the so-called \u201clived experience\u201d of black children is worse than the \u201clived experience\u201d of white children.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Hey, don\u2019t go gettin\u2019 all mad \u2019n\u2019 sheeeitz, Whypeepuh; bitch is just \u201cliving her truth,\u201d dat be all. The remarks triggered backlash for a couple of main reasons.<\/p>\n

One, critics took offense to the notion that black people have automatically lived a harder life just because of the color of their skin.<\/p>\n

And two, critics took an issue with the critical race theory-rooted idea that America was founded on slavery.<\/p>\n

This idea is refuted mainly by the fact that slavery existed long before the founding of America, as well as the fact that slavery still exists to this day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still slavery in parts of the world today, and depending on how you judge it and how you measure it, there\u2019s potentially even more slavery in the world today than there has ever been in the past,\u201d conservative commentator Jack Posobiec noted during a discussion recorded earlier this year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
