Having shifted my brother’s ongoing flatbed-trailer begathon over to the right sidebar for the nonce, permit me now to introduce CF Lifers to a follow-on fundie, namely…well, I’ll just chop off the relevant section from tonight’s nonpareil Eyrie offering and append it herewards:
IMPORTANT NOTE! A boon, playgoers, a benison: My lovely daughter Madeleine, who is to my eternal astonishment a high-schooler as of two (2) weeks ago, requests that I commend to the attention of you Eyrirregulars the marching-band fundraiser she is participating in, to wit:
Any of you fine folks who are flush with cash are hereby beseeched to toss a few simoleons into the pot for my young ‘un: popcorn in a staggering variety of flavors, candy, and other miscellaneous comestibles are available at the above link for discriminating consumers of such items. Thanks so very, very much!

The better half is placing an order…
Good Luck with the Marching Band!
Delivered today. Caramel and cheddar popcorn, both excellent!
Great, Barry, glad to hear the popcorn is good. There is, or was, a tiny little place over in Belmont near downtown that boasts over 200 flavors of popcorn, some of which were pretty far out. Heard they’d got broken into and robbed, the thieves smashing the front window and just picking up the cash register and hauling it off with them.
Word I got was, profit margins on popcorn-shops being razor-thin and the place having been thoroughly trashed by the thieves, the proprietors were pretty much ruined financially and would probably not be able to re-open. Which would have been a damnable shame, the two ladies who owned and ran the place were as nice as could be. I went in there several times in my Door Dash days, and they always gave me a small bag of whatever flavor I wanted whenever I made a pick-up from them. It was seriously good stuff (the jalapeno/cheddar would bring tears to your eyes for more than just the obvious reason), I really looked forward to being sent there.
So many small business’s operate on thin margins that any out of the ordinary thing can nuke the business. When it’s a criminal that causes the damage they should be forced to work to repay the owners IMO.
Caramel bag is near empty…
One of my sons was in the High school marching band in addition to his participation in sports. He had a great time and went on to be a “Marching Tar Heel”. A lot of fun was had by that group.
