And…?

Glenn posts a friend’s piteous cri de coeur suggesting the need for a lot more pointless screaming, racing around in circles, and frantically waving our arms over our heads out there.

A FRIEND COMMENTS: “There is no elected official running the White House, or the United States, right now. It’s deeply troubling that more people aren’t freaking out about this. We all know it’s true.”

So what? Sorry to have to bust your cozy little bubble for ya, buddy, but some of us have known that for a good many years now. It’s simply the way things are, and has been the way things are for most of my life on this planet—quite possibly all of my life. And I’m sixty-two years old.

What, you don’t mean to seriously suggest that any amount of mass freaking out is gonna change one damn thing, do you? Or that the unelected, unaccountable, and untouchable Shadowmen actually in charge of the White House, the US military, FederalGovCo and all its innumerable subdivisions, agencies, departments, offices, foundations, bureaucracies, and miscellaneous kakistocracies, shitrapies, fiefdoms, personal playgrounds, money laundries, and rackets give three whoops in Hell about what you might think of them?

“quite possibly all of my life”

Maybe. I tend to think Eisenhower was not bought, but he might have been in some way. He did warn us of the military industrial complex.
But then, you were not born when President Eisenhower was in office.

Then there is Reagan. I’m not quite the big fan as some of you are. I thought he got a lot right, and the big thing wrong. Reagan should have kept manufacturing within our borders but thought we could just mow each others yard and create wealth. What was he? I’m not certain.

Bush? Bought and paid for. Both.

We know what we have now, with certainty.

Trump. Clearly not bought. Clean, clearly clean. Perhaps the cleanest bastard on the planet.

Trump is the best we have had in 40 years and he still sucked. He should have been Rand Pauls’s S of State, deals he can do, he has NO judge of character.

Barry

Right. Mitch McConnell and company will just approve Rand Paul’s nominations cause they like him.
Sure.

So, show us where you warned against choosing Jeff Sessions for nomination in Jan 2017?

Also tell us who Trump should have chosen for Sec State. Even in hindsight you’d have trouble doing that.

Now show us your comments ahead of time warning these picks were bad.

Trump had a list of acceptable people to the GOPe. ALL were Gov Lifers, mostly in DC. If he went outside that box they wouldn’t confirm them and/or would go after them.

So, start showing the evidence of your political genius.

Like Barry said, if Rand Paul or DeSantis made MAGA picks they would largely get turned down. I think Trump might have gotten lucky with one or two, but almost everyone in the group of people who could get confirmed or could head an unconfirmed position without it’s own bureaucracy sabotaging it was pretty much Deep State drones, minions and foot soldiers .

From Another angle:

His economic team were unbelievably competent. Especially Kudlow surprised.on the upside. He actually maneuvered the MAGA policies in place.

There were going to four prongs to Trump’s main Swamp draining:

Sessions was supposed to clean house and secure the Border.
General Flynn was going to go after the people he knew were Deep State/Swamp and he had the evidence through MI to do it.
The economic team were going to put a good foundation on the economic side.
Trump and his foreign policy crew would clean up the mess in the world with regards to Wars and Trade and Boondoggles.

The latter two pretty much got done.

But Sessions betrayed us worse than Judas betrayed Jesus. Then the Deep/State was free to go after General Flynn and render him useless to accomplishing the job. Sessions basically just left the Executive Enforcement Agencies like Justice and FBI under the control of people like McCabe and other Swamp Critters.

So the former two goals were not met. They were extremely important and we were BETRAYED.

It was not bad personnel choices. Most of the rest of the four year circus you’re talking about was a sideshow compared Borders, Trade and the Economy, Clearing the Swamp and Cleaning Up the Foreign Policy Disasters and Wars.

Plus Trump’s picks for Press Sec in Huckabee-Sanders and McEnany were the best of my lifetime.

Barry

Excellent summary Kenny.
I get so tired of the fools that cannot even appreciate the accomplishments and how difficult they were, and have no understanding of how the choices Trump made, got made.
And of course, they can’t even tell you now who he should have picked…

The Federal Government set up by the Constitution made it almost impossible to get anything done without agreement with the other branches. Checks and Balances.

By design.

When the entire government is arrayed against you, it is amazing you can get ANYTHING done.

Yet Trump did.
