I do NOT see this as a good omen.
People are trying to “get the hell out” of blue “dumpster fire” states as Biden’s presidency plagues Americans with inflation and soaring gas prices, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said during a Thursday press conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where he announced another round of $1,000 bonuses for Florida first responders.
Americans, he said, are dealing with “huge, crushing” inflation that has not been seen in over four decades. Gas prices are skyrocketing and President Biden has refused to take responsibility for his bad policies, DeSantis said, noting that Biden is now using the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which he likened to a “bandaid.”
“He refuses to utilize energy resources in our own country,” he said, blasting Biden for seeking help from dictators to address our energy woes.
“We see the wages when ideology takes precedent over both national security and the pocketbooks of hardworking Floridians and Americans,” DeSantis said.
Despite all this, Biden refuses to go back to the days of American energy independence. The Republican governor also explained how all of these high prices and Biden’s refusal to enact sound policy affects people at more places than just the gas pump, as things like construction materials cost more, particularly in the wake of demand.
“So that’s just the reality we’re dealing with,” he said, noting how many people are trying to flock to the Sunshine State for a taste of relief.
“People are trying to get the hell out of these dumpster fire states that have just done so poorly,” he added.
While I’m always happy to see DeSantis tearing Uncle Gropey or any other shitwit Leftard a new one, this apparent shift from matters mainly of concern to Floridians and more towards broader issues confronting all Americans may be no more than rhetorical. It could also be just DeSantis speaking straight from the heart, off-the-cuff truth-telling with no implication intended or implied regarding his political future. It’s hardly as if anything he said was incorrect or off-target, either.
But still. Hearing America’s Governor say anything at all that might reasonably be construed as a dipping of the DeSantis toe into the national political cesspool to test the fetid waters there rattles me some, and I don’t like it. Much as I do love the guy, a President DeSantis would be a disaster—both for him personally and for every Real American as well. All the evidence anyone needs for that is a quick look back at what they did to Trump. There is absolutely no reason to imagine they wouldn’t slice, dice, and fricassee DeSantis in the exact same fashion, if not even worse.
I go right on saying it, and it goes right on being true: We need Ron DeSantis right where he is, not frittering away his time and talent being torn to shreds by the voracious jackal-packs of Washington. He can do much more good for Real Americans from the governor’s office in FLA than anyplace else, if only by preserving his state as a bastion where Real Americans can take refuge for liberty’s last desperate stand.
Keep your eyes on what’s in front of you, Ron, and accomplish what is possible for you to accomplish; be proud of those accomplishments, and content with them. Run for reelection, crush the opposition, and continue serving as an inspiration and an example to us all. There’s nothing but frustration, futility, and heartache for you in Mordor On The Potomac. What’s broken there can no longer be fixed by any one man, if ever it could have been. That massive task will fall onto the shoulders of all Real Americans, requiring radical, heretofore unthinkable measures of them to get the thing done.
Really, the ongoing DC circle-jerk is damned nigh irrelevant now anyway, as is shown by the clownish antics of the aged and unfit “president” currently holding the job. He matters not a whit to anyone other than the curs there all circling warily, playing their Swamp games and sniffing each other’s butts. You, on the other hand, do matter, a great deal. Don’t let yourself be broken on the Washington rack.
“Really, the ongoing DC circle-jerk is damned nigh irrelevant now anyway…”
I have to strongly disagree with that. It’s just the opposite. It is the most important job in the world, and when done for the benefit of Americans it’s wonderful. Trump had this country on a sound path and everyone knew it. The biggest worry they had was that people would take note of the success and discover the left had been lying all along.
Irrelevant? Not at all. Look at the difference.
The most important thing that can be done is get government out of the way.
Trump was great at it.
Trump was great at rhetoric, but his actual enacted policy was nearly identical to Obama, which was nearly identical to Bush II, which was nearly identical to Clinton … and so forth and so on. Biden, to the extent to which he is able without screwing it up, simply announces preset policy.
Nuts. Absolutely nuts.
To suggest the Trump policy was the same as bush/obama require insanity.
That’s just not right. Trump did many things different and that had all the bad actors out there stymied.
Which is why the Intelligence Agencies were all in on the Scamdemic and the Stolen Election to get rid of him.
And the republican cheerleader party, the chinese, the russians, etc.
Basically, every enemy of actual Americans was out to stop Trump.
NeverTrumpers are the most unAmerican of them all, the handmaidens of the marxist democrat party.
Before the National Security Act of 1947 replaced the elected government with a National Security State, you might have been correct. Since, then, it is the permanent unelected government south of the Potomac which sets the policy and exercises the power.
