USA Today announces this year’s WOTY selection

The moment we’ve all been waiting for, I’m sure.

‘Be true to yourself’: A message from the nation’s highest-ranking openly transgender official

*groan*

Rachel Levine is one of USA TODAY’s Women of the Year, a recognition of women across the country who have made a significant impact. The annual program is a continuation of Women of the Century, a 2020 project that commemorated the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote. Meet this year’s honorees at womenoftheyear.usatoday.com.

I’m fine with it, really, except for that whole “She’s a fucking MAN” part.

Levine, 64, a trained pediatrician, became the nation’s highest-ranking openly transgender official last March when the Senate confirmed her as assistant secretary of health. Levine has spent her professional life in medicine – as an academic, a clinical researcher, a primary care physician and as Pennsylvania’s physical general and secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health – but she admits her current role has proven to be the most challenging.

Beyond the pandemic, Levine said she is concerned about the challenges women and girls face related to body image. She ran an eating disorder program at Penn State University and was struck by the pressures of social media related to appearance.

“We need to be welcoming and celebratory for women of all aspects, of all sizes and shapes,” she said. “And we have to work towards that compassion for all women and not put such an emphasis on thinness and appearance. I think that we need to work as a culture in the United States, but also globally, to be more compassionate and more accepting of girls and women, no matter what their size and shape.”

Still, Levine believes that women are largely responsible for the positive changes we are seeing in society.

Because of course he does.

“Women are absolutely critical in terms of promoting healthy behaviors for themselves and their families and our communities,” Levine said. “I think women are often the creators of change. In terms of the changes that we see in our society and our culture, I think that women are those change-makers.”

Gotta give the mentally-disturbed freak this: he really knows how to tickle all the shitlib erogenous zones, don’t he?

Via Miguel at GFZ, who quips “Nothing says, “Women’s History Month’…Like awarding a dude the title of Woman of the Year.” Ain’t it the truth.

1

Why they hate him so much

It’s perfectly understandable, when you really think about it.

Aesop has a followup you oughta go take a look at also.

2

Irreconcilable differences

JKB says what we’re all thinking.

Anyone who actually watched the Rittenhouse trial with anything remotely close to an open mind cannot help but come to the inescapable conclusion that not just did the prosecutor not prove that Kyle is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt but proved that Kyle is innocent beyond a reasonable doubt.

An eye witness testified that one of the people Kyle shot has said “fuck you” to Kyle and grabbed at his gun before catching a couple of pedo repellent pills.

There was video shown in court of the other dead attacker hitting Kyle in the head with a skateboard before getting ventilated.

Lastly, one of the victims testified that he didn’t get his bicep “vaporized” until he pointed his loaded gun at Kyle first.

The evidence of self defense couldn’t be clearer.

Not on social media, however.

Follows, a stinking pantload of the usual Leftard fact-free jibber-jabber, a veritable Your Show Of Shows compemdium of lunacy brought to you live and in color from whichever alternate universe these reality-challenged space cadets inhabit. There is but one logical conclusion to be drawn from this chaotic clusterfuck of a trainwreck of a shitshow of a dumpster fire.

I don’t know what percent of American this represents buy what I can tell you is this:

There is absolutely no commonality I have with these people.

None.

They have no interest in evidence.

For them, justice is purely a function of political alignment.

Kyle’s guilt is assured because he was opposed to the rioters and therefore opposed to their politics.

This is how the Soviet Union, East Germany, and every Communist country in Asia and Latin America operated.

This is what they want here. The justice system to be an enforcer of political ideology.

Those on their side have charges dropped regardless of evidence of guilt and those who oppose them are guilty regardless of evidence of innocence.

We cannot share a country with these people.

It’s impossible for two such divergent value systems to cohabitate in a single nation.

That’s about the size of it, yeah. Over at his joint, BRM Peter elaborates.

I’m hearing from more and more friends, acquaintances and contacts who’ve recently traveled through (or moved from) “blue states”. They describe life there as a dreary existence, regimented, masked, dictatorial, with precious little of the freedom to be oneself that previously existed. Almost without exception, they describe coming back to “free” or “red” America as a liberation, a release, a joyful experience, where life can be lived free from fear.

We no longer live in the same America as they do. They see themselves as an irresistible force, imposing their ideology willy-nilly on everybody else. The rest of us see ourselves – and our constitution, and our traditions – as an immovable object that will not be dominated.

In the absence of common sense, compromise and good will, there can be only one outcome of that conflict. One side will have to go to the wall.

Well…if that’s how it has to be, so be it. As long as I’m alive, it won’t be the side of freedom. I’ve seen at first hand, in all too ghastly detail, what it does to a country when totalitarianism triumphs. I won’t see it happen here.

This is where all of us who love freedom must align ourselves with our founding fathers, who “mutually pledge[d] to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor” in the same cause. Many of them fulfilled that pledge at the cost of their lives and/or prosperity. We should expect, and can do, no less. Not to worry. We’ll be in good company.

Well and rightly said, brother. The Useful Idiots have sown the wind, heedless of the evil and calamity they were cultivating. Harvest time is nigh upon them, yielding only the bitterest of fruit.

Right back atcha, Slick

So how ya liking that sauce there, Gander?

Black students in Georgia were suspended for planning a protest after white students waved a Confederate flag and allegedly used racial slurs
A group of Black students in Georgia was suspended after they planned a protest in response to white students who waved a Confederate flag and reportedly used racial slurs against Black students while at school earlier in the month.

Students at Coosa High School in Rome, Georgia, were captured on video waving the Confederate flag during a spirit day event, but the students did not face disciplinary action from school officials, a student at the school told WGCL-TV.

The incident led other students to plan a protest against racism. The student organizer, Jaylynn Murray, told WGCL-TV that the Confederate flag “is a racist symbol” and “it makes me feel disrespected.”

Aww, did poor widdle snowflake get hims feewings all hurted? Nut up, punk, and get the fuck over it.

A recording of an announcement made over the school intercom last week obtained by the outlet said students should not participate in a protest, warning they’d be “disciplined for encouraging unrest.”

And so they were. Looks like Zero Tolerance for CRT-pimping race-hate mongers is the order of the day at this school, and I for one am all for that.

The protest organizers, comprised of a group of Black, Latinx, and white students, were called to the front office to discuss the demonstration with administrators, the students said, according to the report. During the meeting, the organizers said they argued with school officials over the lack of actions against their classmates who they said used racial slurs against Black students, WGCL-TV reported.

As many MAGA protesters, anti-pAntiFa and -BurnLootMurder counter-protesters, and other Real Americans have learned—via having been beaten bloody while cops looked on and did nothing, or being hauled off and gulagged indefinitely without benefit of legal counsel or bail—life ain’t fair, Buttercup. Deal with it.

Then, the students said administrators suspended only the Black students involved in organizing the protest, even though other non-Black students involved told WGCL-TV they had also been disruptive and argumentative with school administrators.

Ibid, fuckface.

“They didn’t suspend me and I was yelling and loud. It’s because I’m white,” student Lilyan Huckaby told the outlet.

I suggest you cavil and kvetch less and count your blessings more, young ‘un. Might also want to consider cracking a book now and then, which will accrue to your benefit much more than getting suspended, locked up, and/or doing hard time ever will.

“We’re not allowed to wear Black Lives Matter shirts or the LGBTQ flag, but kids can have Confederate flags, and they have said nothing,” a student told the outlet.

Which is precisely as it should be, far as I’m concerned. But hey, here’s a novel idea: how about you kids just drop the whole “protest” gig altogether and spend the school day attending to your fucking studies, eh? I know I run the risk of making the baby Jesus cry by making such an outlandish, impractical, and unfair suggestion, but you kids are in school for a goddamned reason. And “protest” DEFINITELY ain’t it.

A video posted by WGCL-TV’s Hayley Mason on Oct. 8 shows students protesting and shouting: “No Justice, No Peace.”

Ahh, exactly what I was waiting for from these little pukes: the direct and explicit threat of violence and disorder as redress for imaginary grievances. It’s as predictable as the sunrise any time they don’t get their way.

Your terms are acceptable

Right back atcha, Slick.

Soros-Funded Group Sends Letter to FCC Calling for Murder of Republicans
The group in question is Free Press, which is funded by Soros’s Open Society Foundation, as well as the Center for American Progress, the Tides Foundation, and other far-left organizations. Free Press, whose stated goal is to “reshape media” in the United States, submitted a letter signed by almost 5,000 of its members baselessly accusing the FCC of systemic racism.

Free Press’s letter called for the FCC to “investigate its own history of racism and examine how its policy choices and actions have harmed black people and other communities of color.” But at one point in the letter, the following question was asked: “Are we going to have to shoot Republicans to reclaim our democracy?”

The violent threat was made by a California member named David Lyons, who went on to make even more inflammatory statements as well as false claims, asserting without proof that “racist horsesh** like FOX and the other ultraconservative outlets and Christians” currently own “most of our media.”

Do NOT make the mistake of blithely dismissing these people as if they’re not serious about this, or kidding yourself that they’re merely cowardly, mincing shitlibs who will never, ever muster the stones to make good on their threats. Better by far that Team Liberty immediately begins assembling some targeting lists of their own, prominently featuring the names of each and every one of these vile enemies of freedom at or near the top—right under “Soros,” all his kith and kin, and all who work for and/or with the evil bastard.

Punch. Back. TWICE. As. Hard

Okay, just gonna come right out and make it official: this woman is my new hero.

Nicki Minaj Posts Phone Numbers of Reporters Harassing Her Family in Trinidad

Oh my God. I think I just came in my pants a little.

Singer Nicki Minaj is mad. She’s so mad she’s posting phone numbers and screen captures of conversations with reporters trying to get the scoop on her family members in Trinidad. Some of her millions of fans have taken it on themselves to harass the reporters as a result.

It all started earlier in the week when Minaj expressed her hesitancy over the Covid-19 injections. She told a story about a friend of her cousin in Trinidad who had a very bad experience following his jabs

Read the rest of it; it’s absolutely scrumptious. If this wonderful story doesn’t give you the warm fuzzies, I just don’t know what would. It’s about goddamned time SOMEBODY started throwing their bullshit right back in their pinched, sallow faces. I want to see much, much more of this sort of thing, and I mean NOW. Doxxing; torchlight protest marches right up to the very doorsteps of their private homes; all and every flavor of monkeywrenching, sabotage, and interference; public shaming and mockery; these and other stratagems must ALL be on the table for us as well as them, civility and forebearance be damned.

Our squeamishness about adopting the Enemy’s methods to be turned against him—the pious attitude that we are somehow too upright, too moral, too good to embrace the “dirty pool” tactics that have proved so very effective against us—simply must END. The long insistence on “taking the high road” has been our undoing. Time to try something else, something that might actually work. If we can’t overcome the blind Fauntleroyism which holds that prissy, effete high-mindedness is weapon enough to allow us to triumph in the gutter knife-fight the Left has been fighting all along, we are surely lost.

If you don’t believe that there can never be ANY measure too harsh, too distasteful or “unfair,” to be used in the eternal struggle to preserve liberty, then you’ve already been defeated, and your doom is sealed. When Goldwater famously proclaimed that “Moderation in defense of liberty is no virtue; extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice,” the Left’s reaction was frenzied, almost rabid—NOT because he was wrong, but because he was RIGHT. The frothing mania of Leftist condemnation reflects their abject terror that Goldwater’s flat, reasonable, and perfectly correct statement—a statement that Americans of the Founding era would have regarded not as the wild-eyed ravings of a madman, but as no more than obvious, and quite unremarkable—might resonate deeply with Normals in numbers too great for them to overcome.

Somebody stop the pain

Remember, folks, THESE are the people we let steal our country from us.

No, really, I’m serious. THESE people.

It’s driving me insane. My wife and I have been married for a few years, and throughout our marriage we’ve always been monogamous. About 6 months ago she mentioned the idea of bringing in another man into the relationship to spice things up. I hesitantly agreed. We found a guy on Craigslist. It was actually pretty fun at first. Liberating, even. The three of us often had dinner together, watched movies, played games, etc. The sexual stuff stayed separate (although admittingly I feel like I started getting less…that’s outside the scope of this post though).

Fast forward to Mid-November. I make a joke at the dinner table about how finally the fucking cheeto is going to be out of office. The new boyfriend, who’s always been nice to me, told me to “shut the fuck up you fucking liberal pussy”. I was taking aback by his sudden anger. He’s much larger than me so I admittedly just looked at my wife as a plea for help. She just continued eating trying to act like nothing was going on.

Now, I don’t claim to be an expert or anything, not at all. But I’m thinking that right there just might have been the exact moment you lost her.

I did not know he was a Trump supporter. He even made a joke about him in the past, but he proceeded to tell me that he voted for him.

Long story short, after he had left for the night, I told the wife that we can’t associate with him (for obvious reasons). This is where it got bad. She defended HIM and told ME that I was being DISRESPECTFUL for not understanding that some people have different political views!!! I kept insisting that he’s a white supremacist and a racist and she said he wasn’t. My wife has always been very liberal and anti-trump just like me but now she’s defending the fucker. I told her we were done if she doesn’t stop seeing him…after a few days of fighting, and her continuously saying things would be fine, I packed up and left, thinking she’d finally comply.

Now, I’ve driven by the house a few times and his pickup truck is always parked there. In fact, I THINK HE FUCKING MOVED IN.

what the FUCK do I do now?

I see but one way out of this for you, pal: kill yourself. Do not waste another moment. Kill your wife, kill your wife’s bull, and then kill yourself. Do it now—right the fuck now. There MUST be an absolute bloodbath at your house, immediately, without further delay. This little circlejerk of yours is being conducted by a passel of miserable, useless oxygen thieves, and the fact is that you all have simply got to GO. Make the world a better place, for yourselves and for everybody else, in the only way you can or ever will do: by LEAVING it.

Trust me.

Via Ace, who guffaws in this pathetic, contemptible little queef’s anguished face thusly:

Note this isn’t his ex-wife. No, this is his current wife, who he lives with.

Or lived with, at least. Until she started banging this Trump supporter.

He’s in a polyamorous relationship. He lets his wife sleep with other men.

And he’s mad about two things:

1, His wife’s new boyfriend voted for Trump, and

2, He’s sick of all of his wife’s boyfriends’ drinking buddies calling him a cvck!

Okay, I made up that last one, but you know that must bother him.

If the shoe fits, wear it.

The Main Enemy

Who’dathunkit, that we’ve been fighting the wrong damned enemy all this time?

The 9/11 Attacks Ultimately Proved A Lesser Threat To America Than The Totalitarian Left
Twenty years after the attacks of September 11, 2001, it’s safe to say they did not herald the defining, all-consuming civilizational struggle we had anticipated. The thing we most feared, Islamic terrorism, did not prove to be our worst enemy or the greatest threat to our republic. The real enemy, it turns out, came from within.

In the 20 years since the attacks, America’s own totalitarian left has proven to be a far more dangerous and committed enemy of the United States than any distant jihadists, harboring as much hatred for our heritage of freedom and chaotic way of life as Osama bin Laden ever did.

Christopher Hitchens famously described bin Laden’s animating ideology as, “fascism with an Islamic face,” later adopting the apt term, “Islamofascism.” Hitchens thought the fascist comparison appropriate because both movements, in his view, are murderous cults, hostile to modernity and the life of the mind, nostalgic for empires of past glory, and obsessed with past humiliations and a desire for revenge, among other things.

But the fascism of bin Laden and his ilk, while obviously dangerous (and likely to become more so after our utter defeat in Afghanistan), hasn’t proved as durable or tangible as the fascism of the Democratic Party under the Biden administration.

Bin Laden, who correctly foresaw disaster and eventual defeat for the invading Americans in Afghanistan, could not have guessed that by the 20th anniversary of 9/11, America’s ruling elite would have become this fascist. Indeed, when a regime uses the power of the state to compel major corporations to enforce its mandates and enact its agenda, that’s actual textbook fascism. Hitchens, if he were alive to see it, might have called it “fascism with a bureaucrat’s face,” or “bureaufascism.”

Biden’s vaccine mandate is of course just one example, plucked from yesterday’s news cycle, of the left’s hatred of America and the freedom of its people. Over the past year-and-a-half of the pandemic, we have witnessed an unprecedented expansion of rule by executive fiat, with governors and mayors and public health officials wielding powers too often directed against churches and independent businesses. The 9/11 hijackers hated our freedoms, to be sure, but the pandemic has revealed that the left hates those freedoms at least as much as the terrorists, and would like very much to stamp them out.

Like the hijackers, the left holds almost everything about America in contempt. We are told in our workplaces — and our children are taught in their schools — that the United States is irredeemably racist, founded on violence, and that our constitutional experiment amounts to nothing more than a massive crime. We are called upon to repudiate our past and pull down monuments to our forebears — not just Confederate generals but also our Founding Fathers.

We are instructed that men can be women if they so choose, and those who disagree should probably lose their jobs and be ostracized. If you object to your daughter being forced to compete in school sports with boys who claim to be girls, you’re a bigot who must be silenced.

The reductive, totalizing ideology of the left has seeped into nearly every institution of American life, and dominates our culture and our politics. It is profoundly anti-American, and in the final analysis, it is a far greater threat to the future of our republic than even the wildest plots and most murderous fantasies of all the world’s jihadists combined.

When it comes to tearing down America, brick by brick, the Islamofascists of 9/11 had nothing on those who now command the heights of our culture, and purport to rule us from Washington.

Indeed they don’t. All the way back to the earliest days of CF, I’ve been rhetorically scratching my head in baffled wonderment at the bizarre, contradictory alliance of convenience between the deranged obssessives of the America-Hatin’ Left and the grim jihadis who would cheerfully hack said Leftwits into bloody scraps for their degeneracy, their unfettered sexual libertinism, their irreligion, and their soulless decadence. Strange bedfellows doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Update! Bringing up “the earliest days of CF” inspired me to check the ol’ Wayback Machine to see if there was a CF archive from those bygone days of yore, when I was but a callow youth and the Thunder Lizards still walked the earth. I registered the domain name on 9/16; hastily cobbled together a design I could live with in GoLive for the fledgling blog; and started posting a couple-three days later. The earliest Wayback relic I could find is this one, from December of ’01.

MAN, but I am gettin’ OLD.

IN THE BEGINNING, THERE WAS…ummm, uhhh, s’cuse me—where was I again, now?

SO. The plan was to just basically be a staid, prim-and-proper news aggregator-type of operation. No cussin’, no offbeat topics, just serious and somber straight down the line. News items, updated as and when, with my own op-ed commentary appended. God only knows who I thought I would be competing with, or was walking in the footsteps of, or was influenced by. Could be I was actually vain enough to think I was creating something unique, branching off slightly from the road mainstream news outlets like the NYT, WaPo, WSJ, and NRO had already paved.

Looking back now, I can let myself off the hook just a little by thinking of CF as an almost visionary endeavor, seeing as how I WAS completely unaware of the existence of other bloggers out there and all. Even the word “blog” wasn’t in my vocabulary then; my unhip cluelessness, in other words, was total. In the dark and all unawares, I was jejune enough to quietly congratulate myself for coming up with a genuinely original concept, a brand-new Thing™…which, unfortunately for my rapidly-deflating ego, not only had already been invented, but was well on its way to becoming a national sensation by then.

So I’m sure you can imagine my chopfallen chagrin upon learning of fellow OG’s like Instapundit, Vodkapundit, Daily Pundit, Hawkgirl, USS Clueless, Little Green Footballs, and sooo many others, who either pre-dated CF or got cranking around the same time or just after I did. There might have been a touch of embarrassment at my gross presumption mixed in with that chagrin also, which I will neither confirm nor deny at this time.

From there, the CF fortune was made when Stephen Green, proprietor of the already quite prominent Vodkapundit, somehow ran across my Tough Chicks essay and decided to throw an approving link my way, a much-appreciated endorsement from a like-minded colleague I very much admired, then and now. After that, the relationship between Stephen and myself matured into a genuine, warm friendship that I’ve cherished ever since.

From its previous humble average of around 20 unique visitors per day, CF’s traffic suddenly exploded into the high hundreds, then thousands, all driven by the unlooked-for nod from Vodkapundit. Not long after that, my Frodo On Trial piece was likewise linked and excerpted at NRO’s The Corner, which in turn led to mentions at the Atlantic website and a handful of other Big Players whose gaze I never expected to attract, and wasn’t entirely sure I even wanted.

For years after 9/11 had supposedly “changed everything” (PRO TIP: it didn’t), I made it my practice to compose an essay marking the anniversary of the attacks, purposing to do my little all to help ensure that the gradually-fading vow that we would “Never forget, never forgive” might be upheld. Alas, my effort proved to be in vain, as the increasingly maudlin and disgraceful Ground Zero ceremonies came to feel more and more like some hollow, sick joke, in direct proportion to the grindingly slow collapse of America’s quest for righteous retribution into a black sinkhole of futility and cynical manipulation.

The foul taste left in American mouths from that collapse is foremost among several reasons why, for the last several years, I have commemmorated the anniversary of 9/11 with bitterly satirical “Happy 9/11 Day!” posts, if I even bothered to take note of the day at all. Having serendipitously stumbled into this rambling, navel-gazing digression, we’ll just formally declare this the 9/11 post for this year, aside from two closely-related points I’ll try to make in a separate post of their own.

Moar Ashcanistan HILARITY

Having your cake ice cream and eating it too.

Some commentary on Biden’s speech:

Biden always does the same thing when this demented old slurring, lisping fool wants to sound “tough:” He just yells.

I think his handlers believe his lisping and slurring are less pronounced when he’s yelling like an old lunatic.

90% of Americans who wanted to leave have been evacuated, Biden says.

Yay! 90%! That’s an A minus!!!

OUT: This was my call and the buck stops with me

IN: This was Trump’s idea, you know

This is a great point: Biden is claiming simultaneously that this is a great success and also blaming Trump for the failure.

What?

Time once again for one of my all-time favorite lines, from one of my all-time favorite movies:

Diane (Darryl Hannah): You don’t even bother to lie to me carefully anymore, Charlie. It’s an insult to be lied to so obviously.
Charlie (Mickey Rourke): Diane, I’ll tell you what…tomorrow I’m gonna turn over a new leaf, and I promise you, my lies will be a whole lot better.

Only I can’t say I expect Faux Jaux’s lies to get any better, honestly. No consolation, just confirmation:

Kurt Schlichter sums up.

The last word (for now) has to go to Gold Star mother Shana Chappell, who gave Faux Jaux a full-on, double-barreled blast right in his lying face.

And right after that, Twatter banned the poor woman—for her display of impudent disrespect for Our Beloved “President,” one presumes. Me, I think she nailed it. Kudos to Caleb Hull for defying the Dorstapo and resposting it.

Update! I keep calling the Biden Bugout “the gift that keeps on giving,” and damned if it doesn’t keep proving to be the case.

Biden Left Behind the Afghan Interpreter Who Helped to Rescue Him in 2008

Because of course he did.

Joe Biden has told a lot of stories over the years, most designed to puff himself up, and some of them with very little relationship to reality.

But there’s one story that he tells that does have some relationship to reality — that’s the story of having to land in a helicopter in the woods of Afghanistan in 2008. He often told the story to add to his alleged foreign policy credentials when he was running for office.

From WaPo:

“If you want to know where al Qaeda lives, you want to know where [Osama] bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me,” he said on the campaign trail in October, just months after the February rescue. “Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down…in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are.”

Now, Joe being Joe, there’s puffery there — they weren’t exactly near al Qaeda, and their helicopter was “forced down” by a snowstorm, not by any enemy action. But, it was true that it had to land and there was potential danger, given he was a U.S. senator and there with two other U.S. senators — Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE).

But one of the people who came to his rescue was a man named Mohammed, who was a 36-year-old Afghan interpreter. Mohammed came out with members of the 82nd Airborne and three Blackwater SUVS from Bagram Air Field, driving hours through the snowstorm to help. Once he got there, he helped to ward off any locals until the military was able to get the Black Hawk out of there. Thanks to Mohammed and the rest, Joe Biden got out of there safely.

But now Mohammed is stuck, with his four children, in hiding from the Taliban, after years of helping the United States — even helping Biden himself.

“Hello Mr. President: Save me and my family,” Mohammed said to The Wall Street Journal, as the Americans pulled the military out. “Don’t forget me here…I can’t leave my house…I am very scared.”

Why after everything –after over 122,000 people that they supposedly got out — is Mohammed and his family still there? He’s the perfect example of the person that we gave our word to save, and there are likely few interpreters like him that could say they even saved Joe Biden.

Doesn’t matter a whit. If there’s one thing we know about the Big Guy after all these years, it’s that he doesn’t give a fart in a whirlwind about anything or anyone but himself. Now that he barely even knows where he is anymore, why on earth would that basic fact change all of a sudden?

Okay, there’s sooo much more to cover Biden Bugout-wise, I think I’ll just start up a fresh new post for it. No way I’ll ever get to it all, but hey, I’ll do what I can here.

Nurse Ratched Nation

It’s a madhouse.

Right now an alliance of government, big tech, corporations, and mass media rule over the United States of America. They frame the debates, enforce the law as they see fit, and persecute their enemies while rewarding their friends.

That they defend so many crazy propositions apparently leaves them unfazed. Every day brings some new boogey-man tale about the Wuhan Virus, some new tidbit, seemingly plucked from the wind, intended to cow ordinary citizens into obedience. Our masters also want to fire health care workers who refuse the vaccine, the same workers who were last year’s pandemic heroes. And while we’re being bullied and berated, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, many of them carrying the Wuhan virus, pour across our borders.

Meanwhile, the woke crowd trots out theories and ideas that would have left our grandparents rolling with laugher in the aisles. If you’re a man but think you’re a woman, then you’re a woman, and vice versa. So now “men” can have periods and babies. Defunding the police will lead to less crime. All white people are inherently racists. The National Anthem and the American flag are evil as well and should be replaced. Believing Christians are by nature sexual bigots.

In the novel and the film One Flew Over The Coocoo’s Nest, we meet Nurse Ratched, who has in her care mentally ill men. By the end of the story, we realize she’s a sadist, a tyrant sicker in the head than her patients, who she enjoys tormenting, making them feel small and keeping them helpless and dependent.

Our elites are Nurse Ratched en masse. If they truly cared about our country, they would seek to bring cheer rather than gloom-and-doom. They would become happy warriors, encouraging us to move ahead as a nation, to come together as a people, and to live in harmony.

And mostly, they would shut up, go away, and leave us to live our lives as we see fit.

The good news? Nurse Ratched finds herself opposed by the rebellious Randle McMurphy, who has feigned insanity so that he might spend his prison sentence in the mental hospital instead. He tries to make the other inmates feel more like men by playing poker with them, taking them on a fishing trip, and throwing a big party in the middle of the night.

To oppose the killjoys and doomsayers of our age, we need to become Randle McMurphy.

Good enough, and I don’t disagree, really. But it might be well to remember how everything turned out56S for McMurphy in the end: electro-shocked, lobotomized into a Biden-like stupor, and finally smothered to death with a pillow. Maybe Chief Bromden would be a better role model to emulate.

Creepshow

If you aren’t quaking in your boots and hiding under the bed in terror of the THE DELTA VARIANTZOMG!!!, no problem. They’ll keep coming up with others until they come up with one you ARE scared absolutely stupid by.

MOUNTAIN VIEW (KPIX) — As the Delta variant of the coronavirus fuels an ongoing COVID wave, Bay Area health experts are keeping a close eye on yet another variant: Delta Plus.

“We believe that it’s at least as bad as Delta,” said Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious disease specialist at the University of California San Francisco.

“Having additional variants is going to be expected with any virus,” said Dr. Yvonne Maldonado, professor of Global Health & Infectious Diseases at Stanford University School of Medicine. “The fact there’s a Delta plus doesn’t mean this is going to be any better or worse. At this point, we just don’t know.”

Both doctors expect more mutations will continue to arise until vaccination rates increase.

“Delta-plus is not the end of the story. Until more of us get vaccinated we’re going to have these reports of weird other Greek letters and combinations of Greek letters — we might even run out of the Greek alphabet,” Dr. Chin-Hong said.

Oh, I think that’s probably a pretty safe bet myself. But please, Doctor, I beg you: can’t you give people here in the Home of the Brave some kind of hope, however frail and fleeting? Isn’t there SOMETHING we might do in this disease-ravaged, corpse-cluttered land to save at least a handful of us from dying horribly because of the dreaded Yellow Doom?

“What we can do is get vaccinated and keep ourselves from getting infected. That’s how we stop these viruses from mutating,” Dr. Maldonado said.

Well, shit. Guess I’m a dead man then.

Behold, the Useful Idiot

In all his dimbulb glory.

This meme has been floating around here and there the last several days, and all the versions I’ve seen have the Dread “N” Word bowdlerized. Such excessive delicacy has always mystified and annoyed the hell out of me. As y’all HAVE to know by now, delicacy and flinching away from the proper spelling-out of certain terms via asterisk—f**k, n***er, s**t, and so on, to include C**k for Cuck, which isn’t even a cuss word at all, strictly speaking—to me represents a failure of nerve, if not just outright dishonesty and cowardice. Really, now: can there be an adult so innocent that he doesn’t know what lurks underneath those supposedly kinder, gentler asterisks? So ignorant that he’s incapable of deciphering the code? So fragile that the mere sight of a bit of some undressed Anglo-Saxonisms might do him actual, quantifiable injury?

None of that silliness, not for me. I decided long ago that such-like daintiness would be verboten at CF, and I mean to stick to that. It ain’t exactly polite, I admit, but then neither am I. I’m a nice enough fella, mind; certainly, my vocabulary is broad enough to enable me to function competently in a wide variety of social milieus. But in the end, as a trucker, a biker, a Harley mechanic, a rock and roller, and a New York bartender, I’ve lived a roughneck’s life, and I talk that way, and ain’t gonna apologize for it. So I figured I’d just make my own uncensored version, and let the chips fall accordingly. Anyone who gets his boxers in a bunch over it is cordially invited to go soak his head.

You’ll LOVE him when he’s annoyed

Our pestilential victim classes have Francis waxing…annoyed.

Perhaps we should go in the other direction: toward individual aspects of nuisance that can be identified and fought on the micro level. Everyone has a few he’s particularly un-fond of. Just now, at the top of my list is a huge (150 lb.) Newfoundland puppy named Joy who sheds continuously and frequently demands that I put one or both of my hands in her mouth. Unfortunately, she’s too cute to remain annoyed with for very long.

But slightly above the level of Joy we have the great American Panoply of Victims. Great God in heaven, how I despise people who seek attention, fortune, and privileges by claiming to be victims of this or that. Yet these days they seem to be everywhere.

Women: “victims” of a bio-social arrangement that has led to them being protected, cared for, even pampered by the male half of Mankind. (Shut up about the word Mankind, bitch; you can use whatever words you prefer at your next hen party.) Meanwhile, men do all the dirty, unpleasant, and life-threatening jobs while you whine about being “oppressed” by the “patriarchy.”

Negroes: “victims” of a society that has bent itself into a pretzel – not one of those Philadelphia-style straight pretzel sticks; the twisty ones – striving to improve the economic, political, and social conditions of the melanin-oversupplied. “Structural racism,” you say? Damned right – structured in your favor, DeShawn and LaShondra. You’ve tested our patience to the limit. Go just a little further, why dontcha?

Homosexuals: “victims” of a society that has awarded them above-average incomes, high places in the arts and entertainment fields, and innumerable perches from which to claim – simultaneously! – that “we’re born that way” and “we’re proud to be ‘gay.’” All the while evangelizing to young boys that “you’ve got to try it before saying you don’t like it.” One more “Gay Pride” parade that features nudity and public sex acts, and I might just unpack the Barrett M82 and the emergency package of Oreo Double-Stufs®. There’s this really nice clock tower I’ve been meaning to climb…

Muslims: Viktor Orban, where are you when we need you?

I could go on. Be grateful that I’ve stopped here.

Grateful? The hell you say. Frankly, I’d rather you hadn’t, but can readily understand why you would need to. No sense putting oneself at risk of a stroke or fit of apoplexy, after all. They ain’t worth it.

I could add a few more to Fran’s list, and maybe I will at some point. But it strikes me that—excepting the Mooselimbs, who are a big ol’ basket of primordial, full-strength Hopeless—the aforementioned groups all have something in common, as would any candidates I might come up with to expand the list. This commonality also happens to be the selfsame trait that makes them so witheringly tiresome: they’re all liberals, Leftists, whatthehellever you prefer to call them. As I’ve often insisted regarding Da Joooze, the real problem with these head lice isn’t so much their gender, their ethnicity, or their sexual orientation; it’s the gawddamned Leftism.

Which unsavory trait, unsurprisingly, is also what drives them to make human afflictions of themselves, instead of just leaving everybody else alone and tending to their own knitting like decent, civilized non-Leftists usually do. Just fix the Leftism, and viola! We can all get back to living together in relative comity again, and won’t be nearly so miserable.

Days of future past

Bear writes a letter of explanation to a future that is by no means assured.

Dear Future Generations,

How did this happen? How did America go insane, and destroy itself? How did…

  • Renaming “French Fries” to “Freedom Fries” become the same as “I don’t like what you said, so I’m going to dox you so someone can find and physically attack you, destroy your business, cancel your social media presence, close your bank accounts, and hound the would-be survivors to death” cancel culture?
  • “Silence is violence” but “violence is speech” become a respected take?
  • Looting is reparations?
  • 2 + 2 = 4 is racist?
  • Equality in opportunity is equity in outcome?
  • Politicians actively agree to actively violate state election laws to aid the opposing party?
  • A human with XY chromosomes is female, not male?
  • And we’ll pass laws forcing everyone to believe that (or at least actively fake it)?

That’s but a taste of a necessarily lengthy list, arriving here:

Future generations, I did not make up any of that. It was (is, as I type) real. How, you ask. It started generations ago. In America; the roots go back to the 19th century and more. But I’ll give you the short form. Maybe you’ll find books that survived the burning that has started, that will explain more details.

It’s a long ‘un, of which you should certainly read the all. Really, though, the explanation is summed up concisely by the very next ‘graph:

People wanted power over others. America had a Constitution that limited their ability to simply seize it, so they tried something else.

Annnnd BINGO. The same old problem, whose only solution is extremely distasteful to every decent human being of sound mind. Yet those same decent, peaceable people will forever be forced to embrace said unpleasantness nonetheless, which is no more nor less than the price of liberty. The day any particular generation declines to shoulder the cost of securing and maintaining their freedom and natural rights is also the day they admit themselves unworthy of them. Taken all together, these are the overarching paradoxes of life on this existential plane.

As American as motherhood and apple pie

My GOD, but Leftists are such grim, joyless, juiceless prigs. Miserable, twisted people, the whole lot of ’em.

Food injustice has deep roots: let’s start with America’s apple pie

Oh, by all means, let’s.

In the drama of nationalist culture, the bloody and international origins of the apple pie are subject to a collective amnesia. In the imagining of American community, the dish is transformed into a symbol of domesticity. By 1910, it’s possible for a theatre review to celebrate a wholesome play, “as American as apple pie”.

Guardian readers ought by now to be familiar with the exercise of undoing the commodity fetish. Scratch the surface of a bar of chocolate, a tuna sandwich, or even a chicken nugget, and you find the horrors of international trade: violence, exploitation, poverty and profit. Capitalist logic is everywhere the same, but countries are capitalist in their own ways. The apple pie is as American as stolen land, wealth and labour. We live its consequences today.

The history of the US food system has always, however, been one of struggle. “Food justice” is a term that is intelligible only because oppressed and exploited communities have organized for redress against the predations of US capitalism. The US was made by finding ever lower labour costs, and workers always fought back. Food justice, and its opposite, are of a piece.

It is clear, though, that tensions and imperfections and losses lie ahead. The US continues to spread its economic model internationally. While Joe Biden’s administration seems ready to infuse cash into the management of domestic hunger, internationally it’s agribusiness as usual. But as May Day reminds us, solidarity between workers need not be bounded by the nation state. The United States was made through global connections. It will be remade when those links are not ones of oppression, but ones of solidarity in the fight for food justice.

If I hadn’t read this interminably long and tortuous Grauniad lecture for myself, I would scarcely have believed it. But it’s real, it’s in your face, and it’s totally not going to just go away. Can “mostly peaceful” protests against the genocide represented by a slice of good ol’ apple pie be long in coming? Is the glass of milk that traditionally accompanies it still okay, or no?

So I guess now it’s “food justice” we all must wring our hands and gnash our teeth over…or else. To fail to speak out is to implicitly confirm our complicity in “injustice,” see. Also “bigotry,” “racism,” and “white supremacy.” Probably several more sundry atrocities I’m forgetting about also. Silence is violence, y’all.

One can only marvel, and wonder what the self-righteous carbuncles will come up with next.

ALSO NOTE: You MUST use a valid, legit email address in order to successfully register, the new anti-spam software I installed last night requires it. My thanks to Barry for all his help sorting this mess out last night.

Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.

Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. Conduct yourself with the merest modicum of decorum, courtesy, and respect and you'll be fine. Pick pointless squabbles with other commenters, fling provocative personal insults, issue threats, or annoy the host (me) and...you won't.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.
