Another “food desert” mirage

So first, this happened.

In-N-Out has never closed a location, until now. It cites crime as the problem
New York CNN—In-N-Out is permanently closing one of its restaurants for the first time ever, announcing that its Oakland location will soon shutter because of rampant crime in the California city.

The burger chain said in a statement that “despite taking repeated steps to create safer conditions, our customers and associates are regularly victimized by car break-ins, property damage, theft, and armed robberies.”

The location, which has been open for nearly two decades, will close on March 24. It’s the city’s only In-N-Out and is near the airport.

Crime has indeed substantially increased in Oakland: Burglaries were up 23% and motor vehicle thefts were up 44% in 2023 compared to a year prior, according to Oakland Police Department data obtained by CNN affiliate KGO-TV.

In-N-Out said in a statement that while “several” of its locations have relocated in its 75-year history, the Oakland closure is the first restaurant it has closed.

“We feel the frequency and severity of the crimes being encountered by our customers and associates leave us no alternative,” said Chief Operating Officer Denny Warnick, in the statement.

Notably, Warnick said its Oakland location was “busy and profitable,” but it can’t ask its customers or employees to “visit or work in an unsafe environment.” Affected employees, which amount to about 100, will transfer to a nearby restaurant in San Francisco or receive severance.

Then, the reliably-brilliant and hilarious Hodge Twins decided to have way too much fun with it, as is their wont.

Heh. Excellent rip, fellas.

Well. Well well well well well well WELL.

Border Patrol Says Agents Will NOT Remove Texas Razor Wire Barriers
In defiance of the Biden Administration’s wishes, senior figures within Customs and Border Protection have stated that there are no plans to have Border Patrol agents remove razor wire barriers erected along sections of the border by the Texas National Guard.

Fox News reports that a high ranking CBP official told the network that their relationship with the Guard is “strong”.

“While this issue plays out in the courts, the relationship between Border Patrol, Texas DPS [Department of Public Safety], & TMD [Texas Military Dept.] remains strong,” the official said, adding “Our focus is and will always be the mission of protecting this country and its people.”

“On the ground, we continue to work alongside these valuable partners in that endeavor,” the official continued, adding “Bottom line: Border Patrol has no plans to remove infrastructure (c-wire) placed by Texas along the border.”

“Our posture remains the same. If we need to access an area for emergency response, we will do so. When that happens, we will coordinate with Texas DPS & TMD,” the official further declared.

The Border Patrol Union also issued a statement outlining that agents will not interfere with Texas National Guard members carrying out “lawful” operations.

“TX NG and rank-and-file BP agents work together and respect each other’s jobs. Period. If TX NG members have LAWFUL orders, then they have to carry out those orders,” the statement notes.

“Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America,” the statement continues, adding “We want to be perfectly clear, there is no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG, Gov. Abott, or TX DPS.”

“It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn’t true,” the statement concluded.

The development comes as Texas Governor Greg Abbott told Tucker Carlson the State is “prepared” for conflict with the federal government.

Twenty five States have expressed support for Texas, with ten of them, according to Abbot, deploying their own National Guard to Texas to help.

Commandeering the TNG still looking like a good idea to ya, Slow Jaux? Because in light of this development, it might very well not work out for you exactly as you think it will, at least not in the great Republic of Texas anyway.

Movement to contact

Ruh roh: it appears Grampy Gropey is gonna need to seize control of a bunch of other states’ National Guard units now, not just Texas’s.

As National Guard Troops From Across The Country Begin To Arrive In Texas – Here’s The Full List Of States That Have Deployed Personnel And Resources To Operation Lone Star
One day after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the state of Texas in a legal battle with the federal government over wire barriers at the border, Montgomery County officials unanimously passed a resolution declaring an invasion and expressing support for Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security mission, Operation Lone Star.

After the vote Tuesday, Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough said he wanted to say something “in response to the Supreme Court ruling yesterday to allow Border Patrol agents to remove Texas barriers. I believe it is time for Texas to show some civil disobedience.”

Gott-damned skippy, Your Honor. Time, and well past time.

Things got very serious and it seems that Texas is receiving huge support!

Arkansas,Florida, Iowa, Idaho, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming, Montana and Georgia.

These states have deployed personnel and resources, demonstrating their support for Texas’ border security efforts under Operation Lone Star over the past month.

According to the article, Louisiana has just signed on as well. The legendary Bob Marley said it well many years ago.

A YewToob commenter provides another apposite Marley quote: “Better to die fighting for freedom, than be a prisoner all the days of your life.” More words of wisdom, same source.

S’truth. Boy, it’s looking more and more as if Pedo Peter might’ve really stepped on his own dick this time, ain’t it? Another bona fide legend expresses it well also.

Heh. Pithy, concise, to the point, says it all, I believe. Hey ***”pResident”*** Kidsniffer, thinking about calling out those F16s you’re so fond of threatening Real American patriots with right about now? Or nah?

MOOOAARRRR Abbott, forsooth!

Time for a fresh post, methinks.

Will the resistance in Texas prevail?
25 states and a significant majority of the American people support the Texas Guard’s efforts to secure the border.

It’s fair to say that Texas has a significant majority of the American people on its side, given the harm the illegal alien epidemic has imposed upon Americans.

But sadly, having the support of the people is not enough today to fend off the Biden Administration’s attempts to keep the floodgates open at the border.

That’s because the D卐M☭CRAT party, with a big assist from their Uniparty co-conspirators in the Vichy GOPe, have long since flung down and danced upon the core principle of self-rule by consent of the governed, culminating in the self-evidently fraudulent 2020 “election.” On to the analysis.

It’s worth considering the following dynamics when trying to forecast how this thing pans out.

Texas strengths:

  • The American people want a strong border
  • Has the support of 25 state governors and counting
  • The Texas Guard being in place is the status quo
  • The illegal alien issue has impacted virtually every American citizen

Texas weakness:

  • Beholden to the whims of a maniacal, unpredictably destructive federal government
  • Has very limited financial and political autonomy
  • Supreme Court decision was a massive blow to Texas
  • Biden can federalize the guard
  • Abbott historically has folded like a lawn chair on major political issues

Biden admin strengths:

  • Supreme Court leverage
  • The very real threat to federalize the Texas National Guard
  • A superior escalatory threat
  • Though they represent a minority viewpoint, the ruling class on Wall St and in Washington, D.C. want an open border

Biden admin weakness:

  • Deliberately opening up the border is terrible optics
  • It’s election season and they are already in a weak position
  • If Texas doesn’t back down, the White House will have to be the “bad guy”
  • The mask will come fully off related to the somewhat clandestine long term policy to import more Democrat voters

There’s also the strong possibility that Texas and the Biden Admin decide to give the other party the optics that they want, and allow for the Texas Guard to remain in place.

In my view at least two, perhaps more, of the listed “Biden weakness” items are of no practical import: 1) “Election” season? Don’t make me laugh, that’s all taken care of; the 24 “election” will be every bit as “fortified” as 2020’s was; 2) Since when has the White House ever evinced the slightest concern over being perceived as the “bad guy”? With the entire Praetorian Media/arts/entertainment/education edifice at their beck and call, why would they? They know full well that the hordes of “liberal” Sheeple will never think of them as anything but their Lords, Saviors, and Benefactors, from whom all blessings flow.

As for the Replacement Theory scheme, that particular mask has been fully ripped off for Real Americans by now, while idiot shitlibs either A) will never openly acknowledge the reality of its existence, or B) are actually in favor of it.

Insty notes an obscure factoid that might greatly bear on the situation before too long.

One small correction: The Texas State Guard (not to be confused with the Texas National Guard) is indeed immune to federal control, but it is not a “state militia.” It is better understood as troops raised with the consent of Congress under Article I section 10 of the Constitution.

Hm, didn’t know that. I have a lot to learn on this increasingly-relevant subject, it would seem.

Update! Good ol’ Kristi Noem.

Governor Kristi Noem joined FOX News to discuss the Texas Governor’s battle with the Biden regime to protect the people of Texas.

The Biden regime on Thursday warned Greg Abbott and Texas lawmakers that they have until Thursday to take down their razor wire and allow their state to be invaded by millions of illegal aliens.

This is the Democrat position.

On Thursday, Kristi Noem told FOX News host Martha MacCallum, “If Greg Abbott needs more razor wire, I’ll load it into a pickup, myself!”

Heh. You go, girl. Give ‘em hell.

MOAR Abbott!

Since I already tacked an update onto Barry’s earlier post, I’ll just let this revoltin’ development have its own main-page spot.

President Biden Urged to Seize Texas National Guard – Joe Manchin Calls for National Emergency
On Wednesday, Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX) called on President Biden to “seize” the Texas National Guard by calling them into Federal service, removing them from the command and control of the State of Texas. This is presumably in response to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s defiant tone towards the Biden Administration on closing the border.

A Texas congressman has urged President Biden to take the state’s National Guard under federal control if Republican Governor Greg Abbott defies a Supreme Court ruling allowing federal agents to remove razor wire from a section of the U.S.-Mexico border.

The call was made by Democratic Representative Joaquin Castro after Abbott posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying the Texas National Guard would continue to “hold the line in Eagle’s Pass,” a popular migrant crossing point, stating: “Texas will not back down from our efforts to secure the border in Biden’s absence.”

Castro re-shared Abbott’s post on his own X account, adding: “Governor Greg Abbott is using the Texas National Guard to obstruct and create chaos at the border.

As of this writing, there has been no action on this by the Biden Administration.

Astoundingly despicable, even for the D卐M☭CRATs. Which, my friends, is really saying something at this point.

This idea by Rep. Castro raises some interesting questions:

  1. Were the President to activate the Texas National Guard under Title 10, what would their orders be? To assist federal officers in throwing open the gates?
  2. What happens if members of the Texas National Guard refuse activation and instead continue to follow the orders of TX-ANG officers and Governor Abbott?
  3. What if the Texas Guard splits, and former comrades end up facing each other across that red line?
  4. If the Pentagon sends federal troops, how willing are they going to be to confront other Americans to allow the continued invasion of the country?
  5. Is there any possibility that there may be open conflict between Texas and federal officials?

I’m no wild-eyed conspiracy theorist, but this is the kind of thing that civil wars start over.

It is at that, but it brings other questions to mind: Is there really no extreme to which these lackwits will not go to ensure the Southern border remains wide open and unpoliced? Does despoiling and destroying the nation really mean that much to them? Or is it more that they really do WANT to spark a civil war? Ultimately, is that really the primary goal here?

So far, we know that they find the very idea behind the “Make America Great Again” slogan repellent, intolerable, grotesquely offensive. And now, we also know they find the idea of a secure, orderly national border equally objectionable, perhaps even more so. To Normal Americans, neither of these wholly innocuous, once-mainstream concepts ought even to be matters of controversy and/or discord at all. Until quite recently, they were simply taken as read—fundamental, mundane, even trivial “givens” subscribed to by all Americans who weren’t actually howling-at-the-moon mad—things youngsters discussed in grade-school civics classes, not touchy, explosive topics for sensible adults to scream themselves into purple-faced aneurysms over.

Note ye well, also, that it is America and America alone that frothing Lefty loons demand be utterly without a national border; maybe I missed it somehow, but I can’t recollect ever hearing these freaks foaming at the mouth over Germany, or Sweden, or Spain, or New Zealand having one, and deciding for themselves who is and is not allowed to cross it.

Likewise another facile, elementary precept: that of “the national interest.” Every other nation-state on earth has ‘em, a fact which doesn’t seem to disturb these nutjobs in the least, not even when said nation-states actively pursue and promote them in their interactions with other countries. The FUSA, though? Don’t even think about it, you rotten, evil, hateful ReichWingNaziHitlerDeathbeasts, you.

What we’re talking about here are the basic concepts which define nationhood itself, absent which…well, you simply aren’t one, that’s all. This goes well beyond mere stupidity; it’s actual, literal insanity—insanity not as metaphor or allusion or rhetorical device, but clinical, textbook mental pathology. A fair few of what we used to call “dextrosphere” bloggers were fond of a slogan one of us OGs, can’t remember who, coined years and years ago: liberalism delenda est. We all snickered over that one; who could have imagined it would turn out to be not just our little in-joke, but a cold, hard, real-world fact?

Civil war, eh? Yet another in a seemingly endless parade of horribles forced upon reasonable, peaceable, good-hearted folks all unwilling by a pack of rabid, mentally-deranged jackals who are constitutionally incapable of leaving anybody and/or anything alone. Once more, with feeling: careful what you wish for, shitlibs. Keep on pushing and pushing like this, and you just might get yourself one—more of it than you’ll like. I promise you, you won’t enjoy it. Calls for a rerun from last week’s Memezapoppin’! collection, I believe.

‘Nuff said.

Justice, (well) done

Served up piping hot.

The Chickens Come Home to Roost for Chuck Schumer As Pro-Hamas Radicals Target His Daughter
Chuck Schumer and his daughter found themselves on the receiving end of pro-Hamas extremism on Friday evening. While the two ate dinner for Shabbat, “protesters” showed up at the apartment building shouting for a “ceasefire” and accusing Schumer of killing children.

The scene was a familiar one, with crazed Hamas supporters spending the months after the October 7th attack in Israel harassing people and shutting down infrastructure. All in the name of blood-thirsty terrorists who murdered babies, raped women, and beheaded people on camera because they are just so darn “oppressed.”

My feelings about this specific situation involving Schumer are complicated.

Mine aren’t, not even slightly: FUCK him, his whole family, and the horse they all rode in on. Right in the liver, with a rusty railroad spike.

What kind of deranged psychos picket the apartment of a Jewish woman, screaming for a ceasefire with genocidal lunatics, just because her father is a senator? There’s nothing right and good about that, and the protesters themselves should be maligned and condemned.

On the other hand, Chuck Schumer wanted this. He has spent years excusing antisemitism in his own party, refusing to call out bigots like Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar. In lieu of that, he’s blamed all the world’s ills on nebulous, nearly non-existent “right-wing extremists” and “white supremacy.”

When you feed the alligator, I’m not sure you deserve much sympathy when it bites your arm off.

Exactly, precisely so—which is why my sympathy for steaming, stinking pieces of dung like Schemer is not just limited, but entirely nonexistent. He and every other conniving, double-dealing shitlib like him can all die in a fire, screaming, for all me. Protesters showing up at their homes shouting at them is but a mere tithe of what they actually deserve. To paraphrase one of my dear old grandma’s go-to aphorisms, you lay down with Jew-hating Muzzrat terrorists, you get up with fleas. So be it, then.

Ace is on FI-YUHHH!!!

I know a good few of y’all don’t read him; trust me, you’re really missing out this go-round.

Predatory Hosebeast Fani Willis: If You Have a Problem With Me Spending $654,000 to Hire My Current Hookup, Mr. Darrius “Sweetdick” Honeycum, Esq., Then Your Real Problem Is With a Strong Empowered Black Woman Taking Charge Of Her Own Orgasms
—Disinformation Expert Ace

You tell ’em, Fani!

You talk that stupid racist talk!

The judge overseeing Fani Willis’ political witch-trial has ordered a hearing into the allegations against her.

The Washington Post has a more detailed report explaining that Judge Scott McAfee has ordered Willis to respond in writing to the allegations by Feb. 2, and he has called a hearing about the accusations and scheduled it for Feb. 15.

McAfee is also presiding over the RICO case involving Trump and 18 other co-defendants. Willis is alleged to be in a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, an attorney with little experience in corruption cases whom the DA hired to serve as a special counsel in the Trump case.

“Willis has declined to address the accusations directly so far,” reports the Washington Post’s Amy Gardner and Holly Bailey. “McAfee’s order appears to be forcing her to do so in televised court proceedings, a development that could at the least be embarrassing for the district attorney and at worst derail the investigation completely.”

And just in the nick of time, the New York Times rushes in to report that this is all just a case of white men not treating black women with “respect” or acknowledging them as equals.

Whew! I was worried that a single black politico would be accused of wrongdoing and would not claim to be exempt from ordinary critique and examination on account of their race.

Now, much of what Fani Willis says is accompanied by palpable subtext. In the below article, I have raised this subtext to the level of text, and added it to the New York Times article where I believe appropriate.

I trust the New York Times, and the sex-swollen brutish man-slammer Fani Willis, will thank me for these emendations to the report.

Fani T. Willis, the district attorney prosecuting the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald J. Trump, is trying to quash a subpoena seeking her testimony in the divorce proceedings of a special prosecutor she hired to manage the case.

A court filing last week accused Ms. Willis of having a romantic relationship with the prosecutor, Nathan J. Wade, a two-bit man-slut known on the streets as “Turgid Manblossom,” “The Booty Vandal,” and “Dixon Butts.”

The motion containing the accusation was filed by Michael Roman, one of Mr. Trump’s 14 co-defendants in the criminal case. The motion argues that the relationship, which it provided no proof of, amounted to a conflict of interest; it seeks to have Mr. Wade, Ms. Willis and her office dismissed from the case.

There’s no evidence except that the wife of her Gigolo and co-counsel alleges it in a divorce proceeding.

Oh, and no evidence apart from Fani Willis, Rodsmuggler, admitting it in church, stating that just like Martin Luther King, Jr. — who had his own adultery scandals — she too had “stumbled.”

It’s almost as if — I say almost as if — you can’t question a Strong Empowered Black (Leftwing) Woman at all without being smeared as a racist who Just Doesn’t Understand the True Love We Share When We’re Gouging The Taxpayer.

Then Ms. Willis weighed in.

“In the legal community (and the world at large) some people will never be able to respect African Americans and/or women as their equal and counterpart,” she wrote in a note addressed to Mr. Sadow but sent to all of the defense lawyers, most of whom are white men. “That is a burden you do not experience. Further, some are so used to doing it they are not even aware they are doing it while others are intentional in their continued disrespect. I shall answer no more impertinent questions about the man who tickles my cervix.”

Ms. Willis also made a case for her own fortitude. “Now you know, I cannot be bullied,” she wrote. “I can be spanked, by the right man, a man with a domineering grin and the soul of a pirate, but I cannot be bullied.” She added: “As you are aware, I have now experienced some of the most powerful people in the country call me everything, but a child of God. I have also experienced the power of a veiney python going nine-deep in my dusty old cobwebby mummyc*nt. But, yet here I and my team stand still pursuing justice.”

So there you go. She’s not denying she hired her gigolo to prosecute Trump, and you’re a fucking racist to even ask about it.

That’s one righteous rip; if you don’t like that—a funny-bone deficiency I won’t even pretend to comprehend—happily, he has others. To wit:

Oh Boy: Records Prove That Debased Female John Fani Willis Traveled to Sexotic Sexcursions On Her He-Whore’s Dime (and She Was Paying Her He-Whore With Taxpayer Funds)
—Disinformation Expert Ace

Taxpayer funds? More like ass-slayer funds, am i rite

I am right. I’m exactly right.

This is hilarious. Hilarious.

She cannot remain as the DA on this case, and Darrius “Sweetdick” Honeycum, Esq., cannot remain the prosecutor. They have a vested interest in milking this prosecution, as they’re profiting from it. Prosecutors are not permitted to have a direct stake in the outcome of a case, or in the case merely continuing.

Fani Willis does have such an interest. She is paying her Fuckboy with taxpayer funds, and these funds are even being kicked back to her in the form of sexpensive sexcapades. Who knows — he’s much more attractive than her dumpy ass is, so her entire relationship may demand that she keep paying him to keep him servicing her haggard gnarly snizz.

She’s gone. Gone. There is no question now.

Hilarious is the mot juste all right, no doubt about it. Read all of both.

LEADERSHIP

REAL leadership, that is: what it looks like, what it sounds like, what it, y’know, IS. Seeing how thoroughly we’ve lost touch with the concept here in Amerika v2.0 and all.

Milei is much man, standing up to these 99 and 44/100ths pure E-ville motherfuckers right to their very faces like this; God knows he’s bound to have moved up several places on the hit-lists you know people like this keep, and meticulously update when circumstances such as these require it. But God also surely knows that every last syllable he utters in the above video—a must-watch if ever there was one—is perfectly true and accurate.

Right back atcha, Slick

Is the traditional D卐M☭CRAT monopoly on political violence about to be brought to a screeching halt?

Democrats Are Catching On That Political Violence Can Go Both Ways
Political violence isn’t a one-way street. It has taken Democrats too long to figure that out, and now it’s too late.

The accomplice media evidently got a new set of instructions from Joe Biden’s people that they need to start hyping up the possibility of violence coming from Republicans ahead of the election.

Democrats may finally have gotten the message that the threat of force isn’t a political tool that only they get to use, which is great news. Now that they’ve realized it, though, they’re trying to convince voters that it’s only a real problem when their opponents do it, namely (of course) Trump voters.

The advantage Democrats have had in recent years is that, unlike independent and Republican voters, they know their activists put politics above everything else. For them, only one thing matters: getting their way. If that means destroying public property and private businesses, so be it. If a few people are hospitalized or die for it, that’s a price they’re willing to pay.

Intimidation and harassment are their default strategies. It’s their voters who screamed in the faces of perfect strangers for not wearing face coverings. It’s their voters who torched and trashed inner cities in the name of “racial justice.” It’s their voters who showed up to menace Supreme Court justices at their private residences. It’s their voters ginning up a second Holocaust over a religious conflict between two nations 6,000 miles away.

True, the other side showed on that one fateful day that it’s capable of taking things to the streets when things aren’t going so smoothly. But rather than Democrats saying to themselves, “Hmm, maybe we should all settle down some,” they proceeded to censor, prosecute, and disenfranchise their opponents.

If there has been any increase in violent threats from the right, Democrats have themselves to thank for it. They might do themselves a favor this time and knock it off before any of those threats are made good.

They chose to drive down this road. Now they understand it’s a two-way street.

Well good, and not a moment too soon either. This would be the perfect time to run the D卐M☭CRAT clown-car off the road and into the ditch, drag them from the smoking wreck, and thump the living shit out of their worthless carcasses while they’re still dazed—a golden opportunity that should NOT be passed up, lest it never come along again.

Update! So many targets of opportunity it’s hard to know where to start. But unless I’m much mistaken, a couple of likely prospects just reared their butt-ugly heads.

CNN started to cover Trump’s speech, but Jake Tapper curiously cut away from the feed after Trump started talking about Joe Biden’s border crisis.

“We’re going to seal up the border because right now we have an invasion,” Trump began. “We have an invasion of millions and millions of people that are coming into our country. I can’t imagine why they think that’s a good—“

And that’s when Tapper started talking over him. “Donald Trump, declaring victory with a historically strong showing in the Iowa caucuses if these numbers hold. The biggest victory for a non-incumbent president in the modern era for this contest. A relatively subdued speech as these things go so far, although here he is, right now, under my voice. You can hear him repeating his anti-immigrant rhetoric.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, MSNBC just refused to air it at all. Rachel Maddow couldn’t even say his name.

“At this point in the evening, the projected winner of the Iowa caucuses has just started giving his victory speech,” Maddow said. “We will keep an eye on that as it happens. We will let you know if there is any news made in that speech, if there is anything noteworthy, something substantive and important.”

Maddow went on to explain why MSNBC and other like-minded outlets have been censoring Trump. “The reason I’m saying this is, of course, there is a reason that we and other news organizations have generally stopped giving an unfiltered, live platform to remarks by former President Trump. It is not out of spite; it is not a decision that we relish; it is a decision that we regularly revisit. And, honestly, earnestly, it is not an easy decision,” she claimed.

“But there is a cost to us, as a news organization, of knowingly broadcasting untrue things. That is a fundamental truth of our business and who we are,” she continued.

Bold mine, and utterly, utterly hilarious. My GOD, the balls on this Madcow bint! Props to her, though, for somehow managing to spout such patently risible codswallop with a straight (if somewhat horse-like) face.

FUCK the Feds!

Man, Abbott just keeps on making all the right moves, don’t he?

Abbott Seizes All City Property Along the Riverfront at the Border in the Eagle Pass Area
Texas Governor Greg Abbott used his emergency powers and seized city property along the riverfront at the border in the Eagle Pass area. This includes federal processing locations and equipment.

#BREAKING The state of Texas has seized all city property along the riverfront at the border in the Eagle Pass area under governors emergency powers, including federal processing locations and equipment—This is according to multiple sources.

All access to the property is limited to state authority only. Border Patrol will be permitted to enter the property to remove their equipment and supplies—Agents will not have access to the area unless there is a medical emergency.

I am told that the state plans to start arresting all who cross for criminal trespass—This is not under the new illegal entry law #SB4– They have been arresting for criminal trespass for months.

This is Abbott’s latest attempt to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into Texas. The Texas Department of Safety (DPS) closed and took over a park in Eagle Pass that is on the banks of the Rio Grande River. This didn’t sit well with Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, a Democrat.

Thursday, Mayor Salinas posted a video on Facebook. He said he received a call from DPS on Wednesday which alerted him to the fact that Governor Abbott signed an emergency declaration. Officers will take full control of Shelby Park indefinitely. The park is 47 acres.

“That is not a decision that we agreed to. This is not something that we wanted. This is not something that we asked for as a city,” Salinas said in the video.

Salinas said he was told that the reason for the operation is to prevent immigrants from illegally crossing the Rio Grande into Texas.

Good on ya once again, Guv. Bill Melugin Tweets the deets.

Matt Gaetz follows up with some explanatory background, featuring Border Patrol swine engaging in some truly despicable, nefarious actions.

Worthless bastards.

Dereliction of duty

Andrew Malcolm says can his sorry, diversity-hire ass. Seconded, wholeheartedly.

Secy Austin’s Blunder Was Arrogance or Stupidity – Either Way, He Needs to Go
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who presides over 1.4 million U.S. military volunteers, left his Pentagon post without notice or authorization and kept his absence a secret for almost a week. That’s called AWOL, even if you’re in charge.

Austin was a four-star general with 41 years of service, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. So, there is no question about his character or devotion to the service of his country.

There is, however, now a serious question about his intelligence, integrity, and, most importantly, his judgment. Colleagues describe the veteran as an intensely private person.

Sorry, you give up privacy when you take on an appointed job that’s high up in the chain of presidential succession, leading the men and women volunteers who comprise our national defense.

How’s he going to prosecute the next Bowe Bergdahl who leaves his guard post without notice and his fellow troops vulnerable?

He can’t.

He wouldn’t anyway, because he won’t want to, anymore than his ideological confrere Bathhouse Barry Soetero did. Which, regardless of his presumably honorable service wearing the nation’s military uniform, DOES call his character into question, like it or not. Right along with his (nonexistent) intelligence, integrity, and judgment.

Now that he got caught and caused a serious political uproar, we’re told his unexplained absence involved the discovery, removal of, and complications from prostate cancer. That’s a shame. But it’s an explanation, not an excuse.

No one wants to hear such news. No one wants to get shot at, as Austin was. But he kept his diagnosis, operation, surgical complications, and residence in an Intensive Care Unit a secret, even from his second in command, the president, and those gossipy toads in Congress.

That may be very human. Given his privacy penchant and the sensitivity of such a diagnosis for a man, especially one in a masculine warrior culture, that’s understandable. But it’s also quite unacceptable.

Well yeah, to normal, sane Americans who don’t despise their country and wish to see it weakened and ruined like his putative boss, Pedo Peter, does. So yes, he certainly “needs to go”—but he won’t. The unkindest cut of all is that, in America That Was, a “man” like him would never have been installed in the first damned place.

Moar sanctuary cities, stat!

Well, certain specific varieties of ‘em, that is: Gun Sanctuary Cities, Free Speech Sanctuary Cities, Conservative Sanctuary Cities, Wokester-Free Sanctuary Cities, and so on.

Just 1% of Illinois Gun Owners Register ‘Assault Weapons’ Ahead of Ban
Only a tiny fraction of Illinois gun owners registered their AR-15s and similar firearms before the state’s ban officially took effect.

Fewer than 30,000 of the state’s Firearms Owner Identification (FOID) card holders registered firearms recently classified as “assault weapons” by the end of the December 31 registration deadline, according to updated data the Illinois State Police (ISP) released on Tuesday. That means only 1.2 percent of the state’s 2.4 million documented gun owners complied with the state’s terms for allowing continued ownership of AR-15s despite enforcement of the ban beginning on Monday.

The final year-end numbers paint a picture of mass non-compliance with the efforts of Illinois officials to crack down on the supply of AR-15s, the most popular rifle in America, and similar firearms in civilian hands despite facing the threat of criminal penalties. Starting Monday, possession of an unregistered assault weapon became a misdemeanor, while the manufacture and sale of one became a felony. It adds to a recent trend of gun owners being reluctant to go along with similar gun bans and registration requirements in states like New York and California.

Good on ’em, and keep it up, Fightin’ Illini. Elsewhere, how’s that original-recipe Sanctuary City thing working out for you sanctimonious shitlibs?

NOT. TOO. GOOD.

New Jersey deploys cops to send dumped migrants to NYC in desperate move: ‘F–k this’
Migrants in Jersey? Fuhgettaboutit.

New Jersey officials are making sure the Big Apple doesn’t dump the out-of-control migrant mess on the Garden State — and are even deploying cops to usher asylum seekers from the US border onto Manhattan-bound NJ Transit trains as soon as they get off their buses.

The scrap across the Hudson comes as New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy tries to rally the state’s mayors to form a unified front, while New York City Mayor Eric Adams pleads with Murphy to take on at least part of the migrant burden that is burying the five boroughs.

“New Jersey just said, ‘F–k this,’” one source close to the situation told The Post on Wednesday. “New Jersey Transit cops were waiting for them in Secaucus to show them how to get on the train to New York.”

Multiple Garden State sources described the scene as hectic over the last few days, as nearly two dozen migrant buses rolled into train stations with “chaperones” — with NJ Transit cops then taking over and serving as guides to get nearly 1,000 asylum seekers across the river.

The process has been successful so far, with no migrants choosing to stay in Jersey.

Well hey, who would that didn’t just absolutely have to? Abbott lays down the real bottom line here:

Earlier this week, Abbott boasted online that he had sent 95,000 asylum seekers north — including 33,600 to New York since August 2022 — and would continue to do so.

“Sanctuary cities like NYC & Chicago have seen only a FRACTION of what overwhelmed Texas border towns face daily,” he wrote on X. “We will continue our transportation mission until [President] Biden reverses course on his open border policies.”

Exactly, precisely so, right down the line. They’ve always talked a big open-borders game, but it seems those self-righteous “Sanctuary City” denizens really don’t seem to like being forced to put their money where there big fat yaps are, don’t it? In the words of a memorable schoolyard taunt issued back in Junior High by my now-deceased friend Sherry Beatty, tough titty said the kitty, but the milk’s still good. Now, sit back and suck on it, whydon’tcha.

Update! Dang it, I’ve had this one sitting in an open tab all this time just waiting for me to get around to it, and damned near forgot to include it.

Why 2024 Needs to Be the Year of the Energy Sanctuary State
As the world’s climate luminaries hop back on their private jets in Dubai after COP28, Americans should be worried.

Among the ideas being pushed is a global tax on oil and gas, shipping, and financial services. Its supporters are demanding nearly $10 TRILLION dollars to implement the green agenda around the world. With the Biden Administration well represented at the conference, America’s governors need to be thinking about what they can do to protect families from this radical push.

Here’s an idea: 2024 should be the year that “Energy Sanctuary States” are introduced to fight a globalist agenda.

The concept of sanctuary states is used extensively by those on the left, usually around immigration and drugs. However, it can and should be extended to the energy sector.

The new year is an ideal time for states to embrace their energy sovereignty. Such states would be able to contend with burdensome federal regulations by focusing on delivering reliable and affordable energy to their citizens. The left has decided to ignore federal immigration and drug laws. Let’s apply the same treatment to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the rest of Joe Biden’s Green New Army.

Currently, states must sue the Biden Administration for relief, as they did in West Virginia vs. the EPA that resulted with the Supreme Court rolling back the federal government’s ability to regulate carbon dioxide emissions. However, looking for relief through the courts takes time and a lot of money. States would be better off standing up first and suing later. Furthermore, redirecting state resources away from an unwanted climate agenda is a sensible move that benefits both the economy and energy consumers.

An energy sanctuary state should seize the opportunity to bypass onerous federal regulations that often impede progress and hinder affordable energy delivery. The current federal regulatory framework creates significant challenges for states in pursuing viable and efficient energy solutions. By establishing an energy sanctuary state, a state would be able to tailor its regulations in a way that best suits its unique circumstances. This flexibility allows for quicker decision-making, streamlined processes, and the ability to adapt to changing energy demands.

Indeed so—exactly as the Founders intended from the very beginning, ironically enough. We seem to have somehow lost track of the concept over our long, slow downhill slide into the socialist ditch, but the fact is that’s why those great men wrote the Constitution as they did in the first damned place—which fact even a cursory review of said simply-worded, easy-to-comprehend document will make clear as crystal and beyond further debate, without the average reader having to so much as break a sweat over it.

Come to think of it, “ironic” doesn’t begin to meet the case.

Shameless

Amazing. It’s as if they have no self-awareness, no sense of irony at all.

Yesterday near Valley Forge in Pennsylvania President Biden delivered a speech to mark the third anniversary of January 6th. The speech was moved up a day because of the threat of snow in the area today (cue George Washington rolling his eyes), but Biden’s speechwriters made sure to be as over-the-top as possible.

In the speech, Biden claimed we “nearly lost America” on that day, and the crowd erupted in applause when the president said that J6ers have collectively been sentenced to 840 years in prison so far. We say “so far” because there could be more to come, all while the DOJ is trying to throw Biden’s possible Republican opponent in jail in order to “save democracy,” or something like that.

Biden’s speech also included something the White House thought was worth putting out on social media:

Nice to see that such notables as the Hodge Twins, Mollie Hemingway, and Juanita Broaddrick didn’t waste a second to dispense with that self-evidently risible horseshit in the “Replies” section. But leave it to our friends at the Bee to truly put paid to it, having done so over a year ago.

Heh. Indeed. As the man says:

I repeat: Heh. Indeed. Seems to be a lot of that going around with these lunatics of late. Of course, in the interest of giving credit where due, Too Old Jaux has a long history of it, so for him this is nothing whatsoever new. Call him a trendsetter, maybe.

Words mean things

Except, of course, when they don’t.

Political science professor Gay — who stepped down amid a tempest of allegations that she did not do enough to combat antisemitism and academic plagiarism Tuesday — will return to a position on the Cambridge, Mass., school’s faculty.

Bold mine, and indicative of some truly prime bullshit: 1) they are NOT “allegations,” and 2) it isn’t that she “didn’t do enough” to combat anything—she did plenty. Among other disgraceful things she is known for a fact to have done: she DID commit plagiarism, and she DID express her ((((JooJooJooJOOOOO!!!)))) hate clearly, unequivocally, even pridefully.

This, mind, while the selfsame dicks-with-ears puff out their sunken chests to indignantly declare the madman Trump ineligible to run for President because he’s a known “insurrectionist” and treasonous revolutionary—proving for all time that they really are incapable of shame, because otherwise they’d all be blushing so hard they’d stroke out and die of it.

The above rampant horsepuckey is but one of many abuses of the Mother Tongue we see perpetrated in the mass media every single day; in fact, I doubt it was even the most egregious example from that particular day. Fred Reed offers a primer for those who aspire to do better, a category which would not include any “mainstream” Jurassic Media “journalists.”

English, What’s Left of It, & Its Management
Recently I took part in a discussion of writing and how to do it on Counter-Currents. This being a topic of some importance to me, I decided to throw together a few thoughts in a form more coherent that I could do in a podcast. A danger in doing this is that readers will joyfully point out instances in which I have failed to follow my own suggestions. To these sins I confess in advance. Anyway:

This is not a golden age of writing. For one thing, few today have the grasp of English grammar that long ago we had learned by the fifth grade, or any idea why it might be important. Nor, I suspect, have many read much in the best authors in English, and so have not acquired an ingrained feel for what is good and what isn’t. I may be wrong. I hope so.

For another, good writing is elitist, and must be. Elitism means a preference for the better to the worse. In an intellectual climate resembling that of an urban bus station, in which the lower cultural orders seek to drag standards to the bottom, few will prefer good writing to bad, or know the difference.

Further, when people are in constant communication via telephones, garbling and semi-literacy are less important than they were when poor communication demanded clarity. In the following we will pretend that it is 1955 and that I am speaking to young people who want to write well.

To begin, my advice to the aspiring writer is to forget “creativity.” Writing is first a craft, involving rules and principles and things to which the student should learn to pay attention. Later, perhaps, writing is an art. You have to learn the notes before playing a concerto. Accepting this is important.

Also important, crucial I would say, is the habit of paying attention to language itself, not just its content. By this I mean the structure of sentences, choice of words, turn of phrase. If you read a piece and think it good, read it again and ask why it is good. If an analytical piece, is the analysis clear and compelling? The phrasing fresh and devoid of cliché? The vocabulary extensive and correct in use?

To again use a comparison to music, the listener doesn’t have to know music theory, but the musician does.

Lots, lots more good stuff to follow, including several rules I gleefully traduce on a habitual basis myself, just ’cause I think it’s funny. Even if you’re not a professional writer, you may find it interesting. NYPost link via JJ, Fred link via WRSA. Thanks, fellas!

Update! Also via JJ, Bill Ackerman digs deeper into the Gay brouhaha.

I first became concerned about @Harvard when 34 Harvard student organizations, early on the morning of October 8th before Israel had taken any military actions in Gaza, came out publicly in support of Hamas, a globally recognized terrorist organization, holding Israel ‘solely responsible’ for Hamas’ barbaric and heinous acts.

How could this be? I wondered.

When I saw President Gay’s initial statement about the massacre, it provided more context (!) for the student groups’ statement of support for terrorism. The protests began as pro-Palestine and then became anti-Israel. Shortly, thereafter, antisemitism exploded on campus as protesters who violated Harvard’s own codes of conduct were emboldened by the lack of enforcement of Harvard’s rules, and kept testing the limits on how aggressive, intimidating, and disruptive they could be to Jewish and Israeli students, and the student body at large. Sadly, antisemitism remains a simmering source of hate even at our best universities among a subset of students.

A few weeks later, I went up to campus to see things with my own eyes, and listen and learn from students and faculty. I met with 15 or so members of the faculty and a few hundred students in small and large settings, and a clearer picture began to emerge.

I ultimately concluded that antisemitism was not the core of the problem, it was simply a troubling warning sign – it was the “canary in the coal mine” – despite how destructive it was in impacting student life and learning on campus.

I came to learn that the root cause of antisemitism at Harvard was an ideology that had been promulgated on campus, an oppressor/oppressed framework, that provided the intellectual bulwark behind the protests, helping to generate anti-Israel and anti-Jewish hate speech and harassment.

Then I did more research. The more I learned, the more concerned I became, and the more ignorant I realized I had been about DEI, a powerful movement that has not only pervaded Harvard, but the educational system at large. I came to understand that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion was not what I had naively thought these words meant.

I have always believed that diversity is an important feature of a successful organization, but by diversity I mean diversity in its broadest form: diversity of viewpoints, politics, ethnicity, race, age, religion, experience, socioeconomic background, sexual identity, gender, one’s upbringing, and more.

What I learned, however, was that DEI was not about diversity in its purest form, but rather DEI was a political advocacy movement on behalf of certain groups that are deemed oppressed under DEI’s own methodology.

OHHH yeah, you’ll want to read all of this one. It’s choice stuff, covering a heckuva lot of bases well beyond the Gay business, and I haven’t finished it yet myself.
