Of omelets, and eggs

Guess who’s the egg.

Everyone now is clamoring about Affordable Care Act winners and losers. I am one of the losers.

My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics.

Yeah, well, politics sure had time for you, though, now didn’t it? Ignoring politics is a luxury only a free and prosperous people can afford, and that not for very long.

For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31.

My choice is to get coverage through the government health exchange and lose access to my cancer doctors, or pay much more for insurance outside the exchange (the quotes average 40% to 50% more) for the privilege of starting over with an unfamiliar insurance company and impaired benefits.

Just another of the Obamacare Parade O’ Lies: that it was ever in any way, shape, or form about “choice” on your part. As with any other collectivist, totalitarian system, the government retains the right to make your choices for you. That’s the whole point, the whole purpose. And lest anybody think for one moment that Der Kommissars in charge actually have the slightest regard for the suffering their arrogation of the power of choice to themselves inflicts, best think again–because here’s the official response from a top Barrackorrhoid:

Warning: the link included by the jackbooted Obama thug is to a wholly despicable ThinkProgress attempt at Mark 1-Mod-0 spin, a link you can peruse at your own peril. Or, y’know, not. The only thing missing is the usual malevolent sneering at the “whining” of this woman, who will most likely lose not just her insurance but her life to Obamacare (and she won’t be the last, of course). Although I’m sure there’s plenty of that good ol’ liberal-fascist “compassion” on display in the comments at TP; I didn’t have the stomach to look, frankly. Lord knows we’ve all seen enough of it by now, and a little of it always did go a long way anyhow.

The velvet glove is wearing away pretty quickly with this latest hamfisted lurch towards the completion of the Progressivist project, innit?

  1. Well, look at it from the lefties’ point of view. To use a football metaphor, they have taken ages to march down the field. They bribed the refs and the sportswriters to always take their side. They placed double agents on the other side to make it easier to advance. They’re at second and goal for putting this country into their authoritarian control so tight that it will take armed rebellion to throw it off.

Now is the time to play as dirty as necessary to get those final yards and score. They know nothing they do will be called back.

And they are sure the violent resistance to oppose them won’t happen until they are long gone. There is no reasonable scenario in which they will pay for lying and nakedly grabbing for power over their fellow man. They don’t care how many people suffer because they will never be called to account for it.

This was the inevitable outcome of a world in which post-modernism destroyed the concept of objective truth for most of the education system, almost all of the national media, the entire Democratic Party, and about half of the GOP.

So what if this woman suffers? For them, the truth doesn’t matter – in fact, they don’t even believe it exists! Only gaining the power they have always wanted matters. Breaking eggs to make the omelet is a time honored tradition on their side.

There is no lie to obvious that they won’t simply deny it. If claiming that the sky was lavender happened to be necessary to their narrative, they would be pointing at obvious photoshops of the sky and saying “See? The sky really is lavender, no matter what you see through your window. Why don’t you stop being unreasonable and just accept it for the greater good?”

And always, always, the “greater good” turns out to be what’s best for them personally, no matter how many others suffer.

  2. The Barry Bodycount Begins.

Or actually advances, if 9/11/12 in Benghazi counts. I certainly think it does.

  3. I clicked that link yesterday, I didn’t realize it was Think Progress until I was there.

Typical Media Matter/TP, lots of “facts” cited with no links.

The comments are hilarious, in a despicable sort of way.
