Fighting for peace

Didn’t take long for the hudna “truce” to prove its usefulness, now did it?

The first full day of the truce was marred by a Palestinian shooting that killed a Bulgarian construction worker on an Israeli road project near the West Bank town of Yabed. Renegade members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, loosely linked to Yasser Arafat’s Fatah) movement, claimed responsibility.

However, Palestinian Information Minister Nabil Amr said it was not clear Fatah was involved. “It was an individual attack that should not affect the truce declaration,” he said, adding that “the Palestinian government will do its best to prevent such attacks in the future.”

Oh, yeah. I’m sure. And just how good can we expect their “best” to be? Hint: it didn’t take long to find that out either:

Three hours later, Palestinians opened fire on workers building a security fence near the West Bank town of Qalqiliya, the military said. Soldiers returned fire, but no one was hurt.

Of course, these attacks don’t count in the hive-mind of the media – these are “individual attacks” and therefore not something that anyone could or should ever be held responsible for. None of them will count against the rearm/re-equip/recruit cease-fire until Arafat himself is caught with dead Israelis at his feet and a smoking AK in his hands. Actually, I doubt even that would stymie the anti-Israel types; they’d mentally contort themselves somehow to prove it was all Israel’s fault, just as always. And meanwhile, speaking of the Borg Collective, LGF Charles mentions this missive from the Cube:

How can a major network correspondent be so clueless that they could actually say what I just heard on MSNBC?

“The truce between Israel and the Palestinians seems to be holding, despite two attacks by militants today.”

Yeah, the truce is holding all right. Just so long as the only ones doing the shooting are the Palestinians, that is. All I can say is, those Israelis who are building that security fence need to hurry the hell up, before “peace” breaks out all over. Attention all J-E-W-S: resistance is futile.

Appalling? Most emphatically. Surprising? Not any more, unfortunately.
