A Few from Babalu

April 13th, 2010

“…[I]n the midst of his story one of my friends turned to the other and said, “We don’t know how lucky we are.” And the Cuban stopped and said, “How lucky you are? I had someplace to escape to.” And in that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there’s no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.”–Ronald Reagan, 1964

If you read Babalu, you will know about the Damas en Blanco, the Ladies in White, bearing gladiolas and witness in Cuba, for Cuba. Specifically, for family members politically imprisoned by a thug regime. Sadly, many have also been abused for their peaceful efforts. Most of us don’t know how lucky we are–although we’re learning.

There were major protests on behalf of the Ladies recently in LA, New York and Miami. Gloria Estefan headlined there, which was great–but I wish she’d cut out this crap. Roger L. Simon with Andy Garcia here.

Humberto Fontova is thrilled to go Cajun Airboat Hunting with “Lone Survivor” Marcus Luttrell for Lutrell’s new outdoor show “Wild and Raw” Glad things are going well for this national hero!

And finally, although we cannot be held responsible for the scorched retinas, you need to see this. Or not. AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
