Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.
Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. I don’t know why we can’t do both. OTOH, the Boy Scouts are a private group, taken over at the national level by commies. They can arrange the Boy Scouts to include girls and be quite different than men playing girls sports.
By the way, not every troop allows the girls. While I’m no longer an active leader, my old troop doesn’t*. They are directed to the Girl Scouts program.
*we did for a time have an Venturing group which is co-ed. A good friend of mine and his wife gave that one a try. It never prospered and ended up cancelled. If you make it co-ed then it requires women that want to go out and carry a pack on trips sleeping in a tent in the cold and heat. There are very few of those around.
Edit: I stated that incorrectly. The girls are in separate troops, not co-ed. There is no mixture at the Boy Scout level. I think they allow the Cubs to be co-ed though. I just checked and the church that sponsors my old troop does now have a girls troop. It is entirely separate.
