For me, it's hitting a perfect topspin forehand in tennis and watching it dive down right on the baseline. Aside from playing(or watching) tennis occasionally, my sports life is null-I just don't want to devote the time I have left to that. I had season tickets for years when we got the Rockies, go figure huh and I lived in the left field bleachers in Wrigley growing up.

My real thrills in life now are seeing my daughter and my art glass(dogs too!)

We've had Clear for about a year and a half and never had any trouble with them. Well, the connection does go down for a few minutes about once every couple of months, but other than that we've been quite satisfied.

Thanks for the recommendation. I downloaded the whole season and actually watched the first 2 episodes without the subtitles but I could get the gist. It's a great show. Surprised it could be made by Norwegians and they not end up in jail for insensitivity.

Just saw a man (89% chance of being an Obummer voter)) on FOX News that railing against the "Oil Companies" for jacking up gasoline prices. I'm certain he didn't read the Stephen Chu quote about finding a way to get to European gas prices, I doubt he even knows who that particular "useful idiot" is. Today is the anniversary of the publishing of "The Communist Manifestp" in 1848. How many people have died by dictators that claimed to be "communist"? Stalin killed 23 million (while a New York Slimes writer won a Pulitzer "debunking" what was happening), Mao killed 49-78 million, Pol Pot killed 1.7 million in the tiny country of Cambodia, all the "communist" wannabes in Africa probably add another 7-9 million. I put communist in scare quotes because communist goes against human nature and cannot exist in any group larger than the number of people that can be personally acquainted with every other member. But the theory of incentiveless communism(or socialism for that matter) sounds soooo good to simpletons, wannabe dictators can get people to sign onto it and at the end of the bait-and-switch, they find themselves in the three class social system of all dictators' That Structure: Class 1 - Those who preside over government Class 2 - Those who are the direct servants of Class 1 Class 3 - Peasants that do and say as they're told or they don't eat

Stupid stuff like this happened all during the Clinton years. I went in the navy and had a year of Bush and then in 3 years of Clinton and his social research decided to get out. The military isn't a toy or something that should be taken lightly by a President. It's pretty much the only thing they're REQUIRED to take care of in the constitution. Luckily I got out before the big shift in Women in Combat happened. I heard from a lot of old shipmates that have toughed it out that it's a complete failure and they could get more done if everyone wasn't humping all the time.

So far so good with 'em, Bob. You're right about the scale problems; my biggest issue with cable here isn't lousy or unresponsive service, as I always hear people complain about (to tell the truth, that end of it has been pretty good for me, and has gotten noticeably better of late). It's the annoying slowdowns at certain times of day, every day, due to the fact that I live near the end of a crowded block, every last home of which has cable internet. As you say, we'll see how Clear holds up; if I begin to notice any ring marks hereabouts, I'll sure let y'all know.

Good luck with Clear. As with cable, the quality and speed of your connection will vary inversely with how saturated their infrastructure is. In my area, Clear oversold . When I started with them, I was getting "5 bars" signal strength. Now I'm lucky to see three because all the "good" transponders have been taken by people geographically closer to the cell towers than me. At the moment, only two towers are within range, and promises to expand coverage to the west of my location have gone unfulfilled for the past two years Clear has been making them.

Bottom line: if you can try before you buy in the location where you expect to use the service most of the time (as opposed to the mobile device option), by all means give Clear a try. When it works well, it works *very* well. When it sucks, it leaves ring marks.
