Cold Fury

Harshing your mellow since 9/01

Lies, damned lies…

And Gropey Joe’s campaign blah-blah.

Joe Biden says his proudest moment of Obama’s presidency was ‘not one whisper of scandal’

And if you don’t believe it, why, just ask them.

So let’s get this straight here: The Benghazi coverup never happened. The IRS targeting of dissidents never happened, either. The Gold River pollution on traditional Native American lands by the EPA never happened. Solyndra never happened. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton never had an illegal private server in some guy’s bathroom. She never sold 20% of the U.S. uranium supply to Russia, and her bleachbitting of her subpoenaed emails was perfectly scandal-free, as well as her smashing of Blackberries with hammers. The fact that top-secret emails turned up in Anthony Weiner’s perverted computer, for the New York cops to read, was a nothingburger. And if you like your doctor…

Even that voluminous list is only the tip of a damned ginormous iceberg.

Now we are coming off more Obama scandals from the Mueller report – with President Obama in possession of Clinton’s deleted emails, and questions raised about unmaskings and bad uses of FISA warrants, and Joe Biden brings up the years-old baloney about Obama being scandal free?

Something tells me this is about trying to reset a ‘narrative’ now that the walls are closing in on Obama.

Could be, could be. But if AG Barr does his job right, Gropey’s happy horseshit ain’t gonna be nearly enough to cover the rising stench of treason and corruption wafting off himself and the rest of the Obama junta entire.

Will no one rid me of this troublesome douchebag?

Please, somebody, make it stop!

Former President Barack Obama said he was “extraordinarily proud of the Paris accords” before, rather ironically, taking credit for booming U.S. oil and gas production.

“I was extraordinarily proud of the Paris accords because — you know, I know we’re in oil country and we need American energy, and by the way, American energy production,” Obama said at an event hosted by Rice University’s Baker Institute on Tuesday night.

“You wouldn’t always know it but it went up every year I was president,” Obama said of U.S. oil and gas production. “That whole, suddenly America’s like the biggest oil producer and the biggest gas — that was me, people.”

Words fail me. Other than to observe that, without a doubt, this twerp is swinging the biggest, brassiest pair in all of human history.

Sayonara, suckers

Just another lie from (NotMy)pResident Pinocchio.

Six years ago, President Barack Obama promised to buy a Chevy Volt after his presidency.

“I got to get inside a brand-new Chevy Volt fresh off the line,” Obama announced to a cheering crowd of United Auto Workers activists. “Even though Secret Service wouldn’t let me drive it. But I liked sitting in it. It was nice. I’ll bet it drives real good. And five years from now when I’m not president anymore, I’ll buy one and drive it myself.”

Now it looks like Obama will not get his chance to make good on the promise. General Motors announced Monday that it would cease production of the hybrid electric plug-in Volt and its gas-powered sister car the Cruze.

Meh, it wasn’t as if he ever intended to anyway. Barrack Obailout was just saying whatever he thought he had to to get himself through the next five minutes, then it was on to the next lie.

The Volt and the Cruze were two of the signature achievements of the partnership between the Obama administration and General Motors following the auto-industry bailout.

And they worked out just like all the rest of Barky’s “achievements” did, looks like.

Will no one rid me of this meddlesome blatherskite?

Wherein we ponder yet again one of the burning questions of our age: is this egomaniacal jackass NEVER going to do the decent thing and just go away?

Guess not.

Capping off a week where Senate Democrats embarrassed themselves at what should have been the semi-serious vetting of a Supreme Court justice, along comes our foot-stomping former president to remind Americans of who, ultimately, is responsible for infantilizing national politics.

Friday’s speech was yet another reminder of why Donald Trump won in 2016: Voters rejected Barack Obama as much as they rejected Hillary Clinton. After a decade of binging on this skilled politician’s oratory cocktail of empty platitudes, self-puffery, and finger-wagging scoldings, we were burned out. Americans started to notice that the soaring rhetoric did not match the accomplishments. There was a creeping sense the same man who once promised his vision was “not red states or blue states, just the United States” had done more damage to the body politic than any other president in recent memory.

And he wasn’t even a good tactician for his own side. In fact, while this political mastermind was in the Oval Office, his party lost more than 1,000 seats to Republicans across the country.

Far from the speech being the “greatest, most timely, and most important in the history of this country” as oneDemocratic activist described it, Obama’s speech sounded like an updated version of every speech he’s given in the past few years. It was filled with whiny platitudes about moments in time and stark choices and inequality and demagogues. He veered between warnings about fake patriotism while insisting it’s our civic duty to vote the way he wants. He pouted about not getting credit for the country’s booming economy. Both sides are culpable for the current political divide, Obama admitted, but Republicans are much more to blame. (Perhaps he missed this week’s spectacle at the Kavanaugh hearings.)

He trotted out the same well-worn complaints about voting rights and climate change. Solutions always come with a price, such as a carbon tax and higher minimum wage. After eight years of trying, he still can’t come up with a convincing sell on how to fix the nation’s failing immigration system: “Democrats talk about reforming our immigration system so, yes, it is orderly and it is fair and it is legal but it continues to welcome strivers and dreamers from all around the world.” Huh?

There were more nuggets of nothingness: A vacuum in democracy. The politics of fear. Stand up to bullies not follow them. We need more women in charge. The best way to protest is to vote. Walls don’t keep out threats like terrorism or disease.

Pretty boring stuff from a guy who is widely considered by the media as one of the greatest presidential orators of all time. It’s doubtful that Chris Matthews felt a thrill up his leg as he listened to this snoozer.

Like hell. You know good and well the loathsome toad was sporting a tiny chubby throughout the whole ordeal.

Best part of it all? Oshitstain, after floundering haplessly for eight years and wreaking nothing but spiralling economic misery, attempting to steal the credit for Trump’s economy—an economy which took off only after Obama’s clumsy thumbprints were removed entirely from it.

Playing rough

This. This right here, dammit.

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum. They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.” Here’s my answer:

We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain? We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney? And the results were always the same.

This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.

I don’t find anything “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper” about Barack Obama’s lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party. I don’t see anything “dignified” in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks. I don’t see anything “statesman-like” in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent. Yes, Obama was “articulate” and “polished” but in no way was he in the least bit “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper.”

I’d say “articulate” is off, as is made apparent by any of the multiple YouTube clips of the hilarious stuttering clusterfuck that ensues every time his Teleprompter crashes on him. His reputation as a “great orator” was never anything more than a useful deceit perpetrated and maintained by his Praetorian Media props, and one look at those YouTube vids establish him beyond debate as nothing more than a bumbling, witless boob in far over his head, that frightened deer-in-the-headlights stare washing over his face and the “Uh, uh, uh, uh, ah, um, uh”s piling up faster and higher.

“Polished,” I’ll grant; his handlers buffed him to a fine chamois as an essential element of the whole con—which, given his prickly, unjustified arrogance and inexplicable egomania, must have been a mighty tough job indeed, one that even Mike Rowe would find too odious to accept. But the most apt descriptors of him are the ones I’ve always used: cunning, oleaginous, sneaky, and slick. Anyway, onwards.

The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the ‘60s. To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale. It has been a war they’ve fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one – the violent take-over of the universities – till today.

The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.

With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America’s first wartime president in the Culture War.

During wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming. Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today. Lincoln rightly recognized that, “I cannot spare this man. He fights.”

Great stuff—GREAT fucking stuff—from a guy who clearly Gets It. And incredible as it may seem, it just gets better from there. Read every deliciously satisfying word of it.

This brilliant, incandescent rip was posted by Evan Sayet, who I have to admit to being not too familiar with. But I’m fully “woke” to him now, and I’ll sure be keeping a sharper lookout for his work from here on out.

“Did Obama Spy on America to Protect Islamists?”

My rule with Obama—the worst thing you can imagine him doing, no matter how he may deny it, is most likely just what he’s doingcomes into play again.

When Obama Inc. spied on members of Congress to protect its Iran nuke sellout, it packaged the story to the Wall Street Journal under the headline, “U.S. Spy Net on Israel Snares Congress”. The idea was that Obama Inc. was “legitimately” spying on Israel, that it just happened to intercept the conversations of some members of Congress and American Jews, and that the eavesdropping somehow meant that its victims, Jewish and non-Jewish, rather than its White House perpetrators, should be ashamed.

Obama and his minions had used the NSA to spy on Americans opposed to its policies. Including members of Congress. They did this by conflating their own political agenda with national security.

Since Obama’s spin was that the Iran Deal was good for national security, opponents of it were a “national security” threat.

And its fig leaf for domestic surveillance was that a “foreign leader” was involved.

Now get ready for a flashback.

Susan Rice’s excuse for unmasking the names of top Trump officials in the Obama eavesdropping effort was that they were meeting with the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates. The carefully packaged CNN story, which reeks of the Goebbelsian media manipulations of “Obama whisperer” Ben Rhodes, tries to clumsily tie the whole thing to the Russians. But for once it’s not about Russia. It’s about Islam.

He goes on to make the case, and a damned good one at that. It’ll be dismissed nonetheless, even by some who ought to know better, as delusional “paranoia” akin to what some of these same people are pleased to refer to as the birth-certificate “hoax.”

Daniel closes things out with what he calls a “foul slogan” (“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam”), and he’s right about that too. It pretty much gives Obama’s Islam-promoting game away, to anybody with eyes to see. Although I still maintain that Obama isn’t really a Muslim; he believes in nothing but power and his own innate superiority to pretty much everybody. I simply can’t imagine him being devout about anything at all other than his own ego and his hard-core Leftism; even as powerful and binding a force as Islam was in his early years would necessarily fall behind his own boundless narcissism. That, too, is very much part of who he is.

The ironic thing? Muslims have a word for Obama’s duplicitous approach: apostasy. The very faith to which he chooses to lend his half-heartedly clandestine assistance would put him to death in an instant for it.

Of COURSE he did it!

Remember my rule: you’ll only really start to get Obama when you start assuming the absolute worst about everything he says or does. Assume good intentions on his part, and you’ll be scratching your head over things from now on.

The abuse of presidential power by Barack Obama and his minions is Watergate on Steroids.

In the past month, we have learned:

  • The Obama administration openly shared classified information with political appointees about Donald Trump in the summer of 2015, and likely earlier. The citation.
  • Obama’s attorney general sought warrants to spy on President Trump’s campaign team last June, and was denied last June by a federal judge. The citation.
  • Obama’s attorney general sought warrants to spy on a server at Trump Tower last October and was granted one by a federal judge. Ibid.
  • The Obama administration spied on President Trump’s transition team. The citation.

This information alone — supported by mass media news reports — is enough to warrant a criminal investigation by the Department of Justice, as well as a civil rights investigation into Barack Obama’s possible violation of Donald Trump’s right to seek the presidency.

“The citation” in the above list refers to the supporting links Don provides, which I didn’t transcribe. He goes on to reference this AmThink post by the esteemed Clarice Feldman, who sums things up quite pithily:

There’s so much in print and online about the House and Senate intelligence committees and Russian “collusion” with Trump that I can’t blame people with real lives to lead who just throw their hands up and garden or go hiking. Some will assume there’s got to be a pony in there somewhere, as Ronald Reagan used to joke about the kid digging through manure. I think there is, but it isn’t that Russia corrupted the 2016 election, it’s that Obama and his closest aides, including some at the highest level in the intelligence community, illegally intercepted one or more Republican candidates’ communications before the election, circulated them widely to their cohorts and then tried to use this information to defeat and later to hamstring Trump when Hillary — to their surprise — lost the election.

I also suspect that the attacks on Flynn have nothing to do with his Russian contacts which he disclosed, but, rather, to misdeeds respecting the Middle East, particularly Iran, the country he observed as Obama’s head of the DIA.

Perhaps the easiest thing to do is to just consider everything the Democrats say, directly or through the media, which just prints as truth handouts from the same Democratic sources, as a lie.

Annnnd bingo. If there ever was a good reason to do otherwise, I can’t think of it right now. Over to Limbaugh for the ugly denouement:

Every year until the last two years the Democrats loved the Russians, and they loved the Soviet Union, and they loved the KGB, and they loved the instruments of authoritarian power wherever they found it around the world.

Now they hate the Russians. I don’t believe that. I don’t believe they’ve actually turned into us on the Russians. Do you? We’re supposed to sit here and believe that they have become anti-communist, anti-authoritarian, anti-Russian, after decades and decades of being pro all of that? When Julian Assange first surfaced and began leaking the Edward Snowden stuff, they loved Assange and they loved Snowden because he was betraying authoritarian governments, although there was Obama. Now they’re embracing all these people that they used to despise and dislike.

This whole story is causing them to do 180-degree shifts of loyalty. And that’s what I mean by discombobulated, because the sole focus they have been consumed with — they’re a big hate group now, and they’ve been consumed with their hatred for Trump, consumed with their hatred for the American people who voted for Trump, consumed with their hatred for open elections, consumed by their hatred of the fact they can’t get rid of Trump.

(Break transcript, new linkM) The Russians! They used to be in bed with the Russians and with the Soviet Union. Now they’re turning…In other words, this scandal — and Donald Trump — is forcing the left and the Democrat Party to turn itself inside out. They are so discombobulated that they are abandoning lifelong allies and embracing lifelong enemies because the only objective here is to get rid of Trump, and I think at this stage… I say this as a bit of an exaggeration, but I don’t think they even know specifically why Trump has to be gotten away, other than he won the election. But when you…It’s gotten so far out of control that they can’t even tell you why now.

So it turns out there was a government interfering in the presidential election. It was ours. It was the United States government, at the time being run by Barack Hussein O and his minions.

Anything, anything at all, to hang onto power; their lust for it, their sense of absolute entitlement to it, couldn’t be more obvious now. Their megalomania is the only “principle” they have left. They were so close—sooooo close!—to having us all under their thumbs completely, to subjugating us to the Progressivist program forever. They believed that with the grand success of their Long March through the institutions (most especially their control of the government schools) there would simply be no turning back.

Throw in the government takeover of the health-care system—as I’ve long called it, the Progressivist brass ring, their ultimate achievement in their quest for absolute power—and no one could blame them for thinking they really were home free at last, securely in the driver’s seat for good, to mix a couple of metaphors there.

Sadly for them it turns out that, as faint and forlorn a hope as we really have for restoring the Constitutional Republic, real Americans aren’t quite ready to accept the bit quite yet. To their stunned amazement and spluttering outrage, there was still enough fight left in those of us who live outside their urban redoubts to toss a largish spanner into their nefarious works in the person of one Donald J Trump.

And now they’ve gone completely bug-fuck nuts over it—even as small a setback as that was enough to push them over the edge into certifiable public madness. The beautiful irony here is, though, that the more they froth and shriek, the more they flail and fail and whine and obstruct, the more of us see them for what they truly are, and always were. The mask of reasonableness and sanity is being ripped away now not by those of us who have an interest in exposing them, but by their very own words and deeds. I’m not sure whether they don’t realize it, or are just incapable of stopping themselves. Either way, it’s hilarious to watch.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of assholes, if you ask me.

Legacy of lies

In all things great and small, the jugeared moron will first, last, and always be justly remembered for his core dishonesty. Except inadvertently or by mistake, has the duplicitous asswipe ever said anything that was actually, literally true?

No. No, he has not.

Obama? I’ve got nothing to add to what I’ve said these last eight years. But I’ll reprise one of my favorite details from his largely fictitious biography, from page 141 of The [Un]documented Mark Steyn:

Courtesy of David Maraniss’ new book, we now know that yet another key prop of Barack Obama’s identity is false: His Kenyan grandfather was not brutally tortured or even non-brutally detained by his British colonial masters. The composite gram’pa joins an ever-swelling cast of characters from Barack’s “memoir” who, to put it discreetly, differ somewhat in reality from their bit parts in the grand Obama narrative. The best friend at school portrayed in Obama’s autobiography as “a symbol of young blackness” was, in fact, half Japanese, and not a close friend. The white girlfriend he took to an off-Broadway play that prompted an angry post-show exchange about race never saw the play, dated Obama in an entirely different time zone, and had no such world-historically significant conversation with him. His Indonesian step-grandfather, supposedly killed by Dutch soldiers during his people’s valiant struggle against colonialism, met his actual demise when he “fell off a chair at his home while trying to hang drapes.”

But ask not for whom the drapes hang, they hang for thee: today it’s curtains for Barack Obama, and curtain up for Donald Trump.

And not a moment too soon, either. Good riddance, Barry Soetero. Don’t let the door etc. Bad rubbish you always were, and bad rubbish you will forever remain. Back to “community organizing” with ye— a useless, pointless, make-work “job” more in line with your nugatory “talents.”

No more duplicitous friend, no more treacherous enemy

That would be Obama’s Amerika—thankfully, soon to be as dead as the dodo.

Senior Obama administration officials are scrambling to provide explanations after multiple reports, including in the Washington Free Beacon, identified the White House as being a chief architect of a recent United Nations resolution condemning the state of Israel, according to conversations with multiple former and current U.S. officials.

On the heels of the hotly contested resolution, which condemned Israel for building homes in its capital, Jerusalem, senior Obama administration officials, including Secretary of State John Kerry and Vice President Joe Biden, have been identified as leading the charge to ensure the anti-Israel measure won approval by the U.N. Security Council.

The administration’s denials of this charge broke down during the past several days as multiple reporters confirmed the Obama administration worked behind-the-scenes to help shape and forward the resolution.

As with the meeting between Kerry and Erekat, the phone call between Biden and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has been confirmed multiple times by a plethora of sources in the United States, Israel, and Europe following the Free Beacon’s initial report.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a weekly cabinet meeting that “the Obama administration initiated [the resolution], stood behind it, coordinated on the wording and demanded that it be passed.”

The administration has not yet addressed the discrepancy between its own narrative and that being revealed in the press.

One veteran foreign policy insider and former government official who requested anonymity in order to speak freely described senior Obama administration officials as “lying sacks of shit” who routinely feed the press disinformation.

Of course they are. They’ve been lying sacks of shit from the beginning of their foul (mis)administration, they’re lying sacks of shit now, and lying sacks of shit they’ll forever be. Their toxic team is headed by one of the lyingest sacks of shit ever to fork a tongue, and this stinking fish is rotting from the head down. Most of them ought to have been in prison long before now, and the rest of them ought to be in the witness protection program for turning state’s evidence against them. Shitweasels to a man, they are, from their filthy figurehead right down to the last lowly intern. They can’t be ousted soon enough to suit me.

Theater of the absurd

Bitter fruit from a poisoned tree.

Washington – The State Department issued a warning on Monday urging U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to Iran, which has made the detention of Americans a priority.

The latest travel advisory, which emphasizes Iran’s desire to capture U.S. citizens, comes on the heels of a growing scandal over the Obama administration’s decision to pay Iran $400 million in cash on the same day that it freed several U.S. hostages.

Gee, who coulda seen that coming? Besides anybody with half a fucking lick of sense, I mean. Which would definitely not include a living soul within a hundred miles of Mordor on the Potomac, apparently.

Via Sundance, who says: “You just can’t make this stuff up folks.” No, you really can’t. And if you did, nobody would believe you.

Drip, drip, drip

Anybody remember our recent 400 million ransom-for-hostages payment to Iran, perchance? The one Barky vehemently denied was any kind of ransom payment at all?

You never really had any doubt that the pusillanimous fool was lying through his fucking teeth, did you?

WASHINGTON—New details of the $400 million U.S. payment to Iran earlier this year depict a tightly scripted exchange specifically timed to the release of several American prisoners held in Iran.

The picture emerged from accounts of U.S. officials and others briefed on the operation: U.S. officials wouldn’t let Iranians take control of the money until a Swiss Air Force plane carrying three freed Americans departed from Tehran on Jan. 17. Once that happened, an Iranian cargo plane was allowed to bring the cash home from a Geneva airport that day.

President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials have said the payment didn’t amount to ransom, because the U.S. owed the money to Iran as part of a longstanding dispute linked to a failed arms deal from the 1970s. U.S. officials have said that the prisoner release and cash transfer took place through two separate diplomatic channels.

Now for the real hilarity:

Mr. Obama, speaking at a news conference at the Pentagon, pushed back on Republican charges that the cash delivery amounted to ransom.

“We do not pay ransom for hostages,” he said. “We didn’t here, and we won’t in the future, precisely because if we did we’d start encouraging Americans to be targeted.”

Amazingly enough, that last bit is indisputably true. But Barky doesn’t care. Should the circumstances he created render that truth a bit too inconvenient for him in the near future, the forked-tongued dung beetle will just lie about that too. And if you think he doesn’t give a damn about Americans and their national interest now, just wait till his longed-for ascension to Secretary General of the UN. That’s when he’s really gonna spread both (left) wings.

“We don’t pay ransom.” “We don’t negotiate with terrorists.” “We’re winning the war on terror.” “ISIS is on the run.” “We’re the strongest, richest, and most free nation on Earth, deserving of the world’s respect.” There’s so many of them now that, like FedGovCo’s laws as mentioned in the last post, it’s impossible to keep track of them anymore.

The Great Destroyer

Has there ever been a single human being in all of history so smug and self-satisfied, with so little justification for it? Even one?

When President Obama was asked recently what he wants to be remembered for, he quickly answered that it would be as the savior of the American and global economies.

“There are things I’m proud of,” he said, citing Obamacare, then added, “Saving the world economy from a Great Depression, that was pretty good.”

Well, I suppose it would have been, if he’d actually, y’know, done it.

The American economy grew at an annualized rate of only half a percentage point in the first quarter of this year, it was announced Thursday. This is bad news for Obama’s legacy and for Hillary Clinton, running for her former boss’s third term. It is certainly a strain to see it as vindication of Obamanomics after six years of stimulus, pump-priming and stagnation.

This is the bitter fruit of creationist economics, the erroneous belief that government activity can somehow conjure new wealth and value.

Obama clings to the belief he brought with him into office, that he can legislate and regulate economic activity into existence. He promoted and signed a much-touted stimulus law that gave taxpayers’ money to items on a Democratic wish list and to well-connected businesses, while doling out microscopic tax refunds to some workers. Beyond that, Obama’s economic policy has consisted of imposing greater burdens on business in the form of labor rulings, environmental regulations, and mandates that increase the cost of job creation.

Higher minimum wages, new mandatory health costs, obligatory paid leave, and new powers for corrupt labor unions all hamper economic growth. For workers to get a larger piece of pie, the pie must grow. And right now, it is growing by only five thousandths per year.

And if that statistic is anything like the parboiled garbage we get on other economic indicators like unemployment, say, it’s nothing but a lie too.

Gee, whodathunkit? Socialism, which has failed every single one of the numerous times it’s been tried, is failing again. Turns out that if you strangle an economy with overregulation and taxes far higher than those which inspired an earlier, better generation to chuck a bunch of tea into Boston Harbor and launch a revolution, why, that economy chokes and dies. Imagine my surprise. Heinlein’s Rule One, in full dismal effect.

Obama’s self-congratulation is nothing more than the prattle of a fool–a lazy, unintelligent, petty mountebank without even a single real accomplishment to his credit. It’s to America’s eternal shame that it ever allowed itself to be hoodwinked into allowing him to occupy the Oval Office as anything other than a janitor or tour guide. We’ll all be paying for that grievous error for a long time to come.

“In Cuba, our window of opportunity is so small”

This is what Barrack Hussein Obama and his handlers, henchmen, and bootlicks want for all of us.

A host of historical forces combined to give Cuba its unique car culture. In the years before Castro took power, Cuba had a fairly strong urban middle class — with a passion for American cars.

But when the Communist Party gained control in 1959, it cut off all US auto imports, leaving Cubans with little choice but to keep their cars running any way they could.

And that’s exactly what Cubans have done. The classic cars you see on the streets of Havana today aren’t charming throwbacks to a bygone age. They are the very same vehicles that traversed the city before the Cuban revolution.

What makes the survival of these classic cars especially remarkable is that thanks to the US embargo, Cubans couldn’t get spare parts.

Beginning in the early 1960s, the United States placed severe restrictions on virtually all economic activity between the two countries. The Cuban government estimates that this embargo costs the island $685 million annually, or about three months salary for every Cuban.

The embargo has kept US auto makers from selling replacement parts to Cuban mechanics, with the result that many of the classic American cars on Cuba’s streets are actually equipped with German or Japanese diesel engines and held together with jerry-rigged parts.

The Communist Party in Cuba has restricted all manner of economic activity, and car purchases are no exception. For years, only the most well-connected Cubans were allowed to buy new cars, and they were largely limited to Soviet imports.

As of 2007 — the most recent data available — only about two of every 100 Cubans owned a car. In the nearby Dominican Republic there were six cars for every 100 people. In the United States, it was 45.

Leaving aside the embargo and the lingering restrictions on the island’s car market, there’s a more basic reason Cubans aren’t purchasing modern cars: They can’t afford to.

Officially, at least, the average salary in Cuba is about $260 per year. That figure may be somewhat low, since it doesn’t include black market dealing nor account for the fact that the state already pays for basic services things like health care. But with annual salaries in the hundreds, rather than the thousands, it’s hard to imagine Cuba could sustain a really thriving market for new cars.

Or much of anything else; for a look at what Left philosophy has done to Cuba, check out Totten’s excellent Old Havana/New Havana travelogue. But while the scumbag Obama enjoys a Cuban baseball game with some terrorist pals while Europe is being blown up by more of his terrorist pals, somebody might want to point out this truly heartrending story to him:

It was 1999. I was 16 years old, playing for the Cuban National Team. We had a qualifying game for the Pan-American Games in Venezuela, where my friend was living. I don’t even want to say his name, because he still has family in Cuba. When we arrived at the hotel, he came to see me and we had a regular chat, laughing and catching up.

Then when nobody else was around, he whispered to me, “Peña, if you want to leave Cuba, this is your chance. I’m willing to help you. I can get you to Costa Rica. But you have to be sure. There’s no turning back.”

It was my dream to play in the big leagues, but it wasn’t like I was some big star and had an MLB team waiting to sign me to a million dollar contract. I was just a chubby 16-year-old catcher from Havana who was a pretty decent ballplayer. If I got caught trying to defect, the consequences would be devastating. Not just for me, but for my whole family. I told him I had to think about it.

“Okay, but we don’t have much time,” he said. “Tomorrow morning I’m going to come to the hotel and bring you some batting gloves. I’ll have a red pair and a green pair. You choose which ones you want. Green means you really want to do it. Red means we forget all about it.”

This was all that was said. We couldn’t speak any more about it, because we were always being watched by officials from the team when we traveled to international tournaments. We couldn’t even go to the bathroom alone. I didn’t know what to do. I thought about calling my mother and father. I thought about talking to my teammates. But I didn’t want to get anybody in trouble, so I said nothing to anyone. That night, I didn’t sleep. I stared at the ceiling and thought about what life could be like in America as a big leaguer. But then I thought about life with my family in Cuba — my grandma, my grandpa, my home.

At seven the next morning, our team went down to the lobby for breakfast and there was my friend, handing out batting gloves. He walked up to me, completely calm.

“Hey Peña, which color do you want?”

At that moment, my heart was beating out of my chest.

He tossed them to me. I went to my room and thought…Green. What now?

“What now” turned out to be a daring escape from the impoverished socialist hellhole (sorry for the redundancy) that Obama is now feting and celebrating and holding up as a shining example of what the whole world could be if only we’d all accept his superior wisdom and let him get on with the Fundamental Transformation. My statement from the other day that somebody ought to find a way to make him stay there for good was only half joking–if only because of how perfect it would be to see his scrawny ass bolting through a bathroom window to escape his precious Workers’ Paradise. More on life in Obamaworld:

I used to share a mask with five or six other catchers. The chest protector we shared was probably from 1959. But the biggest problem was that I only had one pair of shoes that were so old and beat up that my toe would poke out the front.

Then one day, a friend showed up with a pair of baseball cleats that he got a hold of somehow. They looked a little bit funny, though.

“Hey Peña, they’re your size,” he said. “But there’s only one problem, bro. They’re both left shoes.”

It was like Christmas for me. I didn’t care. Give me the two left shoes. At least I have real baseball cleats. I thought I was so cool, man. I wore these things everywhere so I could get used to it. I played a whole year in two left shoes. Whatever, I was never that fast anyway.

My family thought this was the funniest thing ever. But you know what? I didn’t care how I looked. It protected my foot behind home plate. I was going to do whatever it took to get my opportunity to play baseball at the highest level I could.

And so he did, thanks to his drive, courage, and indomitable will. Even the Castros, Stalins, and Obamas of the world can’t crush spirit like that, try as they might. It should never, ever be forgotten that when socialists get their way, the above is what results EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And then hardy souls like Peña have to start looking around for windows.

Update! Another heart-wrenching story Obama won’t give a tinker’s damn about.

The ocean between our countries is filled with the Cuban bodies that tell the story, lives literally thrown to the wind in desperation, hoping to reach America’s possibility-soaked shores on boats made of old tires and wood and poverty’s debris. No free press. No elections. No freedom. That’s the Cuba that still surrounds the baseball diamond where we play this game. That’s the Cuba people still get on makeshift boats to flee today.

Read it all. Or, if you’re Obama or any other spoiled-brat America-hating neo-Marxist, get busy finding a way to renounce it, deny it, or claim it irrelevant.

“Obama Wants to Defeat America, Not ISIS”

That’s the gotta be the headline of the Democrat Socialist Decade, right there.

There’s nothing new about any of this. Obama doesn’t win wars. He lies about them.

The botched campaign against ISIS is a replay of the disaster in Afghanistan complete with ridiculous rules of engagement, blatant administration lies and no plan for victory. But there can’t be a plan for victory because when Obama gets past the buzzwords, he begins talking about addressing root causes.

And you don’t win wars by addressing root causes. That’s just a euphemism for appeasement.

Addressing root causes means blaming Islamic terrorism on everything from colonialism to global warming. It doesn’t mean defeating it, but finding new ways to blame it on the West.

Obama and his political allies believe that crime can’t be fought with cops and wars can’t be won with soldiers. The only answer lies in addressing the root causes which, after all the prattling about climate change and colonialism, really come down to the Marxist explanation of inequality.

When reporters ask Obama how he plans to win the war, he smirks tiredly at them and launches into another condescending explanation about how the situation is far too complicated for anything as simple as bombs to work. Underneath that explanation is the belief that wars are unwinnable.

Obama knows that Americans won’t accept “war just doesn’t work” as an answer to Islamic terrorism. So he demonstrates to them that wars don’t work by fighting wars that are meant to fail.

In Afghanistan, he bled American soldiers as hard as possible with vicious rules of engagement that favored the Taliban to destroy support for a war that most of the country had formerly backed. By blowing the war, Obama was not only sabotaging the specific implementation of a policy he opposed, but the general idea behind it. His failed wars are meant to teach Americans that war doesn’t work.

The unspoken idea that informs his strategy is that American power is the root cause of the problems in the region. Destroying ISIS would solve nothing. Containing American power is the real answer.

Obama does not have a strategy for defeating ISIS. He has a strategy for defeating America.

And all of a sudden, it all makes perfect sense–which brings us right back to the CF Rule: assuming the absolute worst about Obama is the only way to make sense of his seemingly nonsensical and incompetent actions. You might consider it somewhat related to the idea of Occam’s Razor, that’d be close enough. It also brings us right back to another rule of thumb I’ve established: before we can ever even dream of defeating the Moslems, we’re first going to have to crush the “liberals.”

Update! Steyn ties it up with a not-so-pretty black bow:

ISIS is not itself the cause of the problem. What ISIS is is the most effective vehicle for the cause – which is Islamic imperialist conquest. What ISIS did in the Paris attacks was bring many disparate elements together – Muslims born and bred in France, Muslim immigrants to other European countries, recently arrived Muslim “refugees”… An organization that can command numerous assets of different status – holders of 11 different passports – and tie them all together is a formidable enemy. Playing whack-a-mole on that scale will ensure we lose, and bankrupt ourselves in the process.

Meanwhile, the caliphate is coining it: ISIS is the wealthiest terrorist organization in history, making billions of dollars a year from oil sales, bank raids, human smuggling, extortion and much else. So they have a ton of money with which to fund their ideological goals.

And yet, as I say, ISIS is merely the vehicle for the ideology, which in the end can only be defeated by taking it on. You can’t drone the animating ideas away. And the biggest obstacle to a vigorous ideological pushback is the west’s politico-media class – Obama, Kerry, Merkel, Cameron, Justin Trudeau, etc – who insist that Islam and immigration can never be a part of the discussion, and seem genuinely to believe that, say, more niqabs on the streets of western cities is a heartwarming testament to the vibrancy of our diversity, rather than a grim marker of our descent into a brutal and segregated society in which half the population will be chattels forbidden by their owners from feeling sunlight on their faces.

But best not to bring that up.

No, best not. We lost this war a long time ago; we’re just in the mopping-up phase now. Like I said already, it’s not going to matter how many of us they kill at a time now; the West is far too feeble to act in its own defense anymore, and doesn’t really believe it to be worth the bother anyway.

And truth to tell, given what we’ve become, it really isn’t; it was once, but not anymore. That’s the tragic part of it all. I mean, come on: does anybody out there really think an obnoxious fool like, say, Amanda Marcotte–or Obama himself, or Nancy Pelosi, or Alec Baldwin, or that silly, irresponsible twit of a Paris dad deceiving his son by telling him flowers are going to “protect” him–is worth one drop of anyone’s blood? Is anyone really all that disturbed by the prospect of these absurd muttonheads having the full weight of their folly dropped squarely on their empty heads, right where it belongs? Does anyone think it’s worth stepping up in solidarity with a nation whose duly-elected “leader” said this mere days after another horrific Moslem massacre–the second in under a year, ferchrissakes?

“Life should resume fully,” Hollande told a gathering of the country’s mayors, who gave him a standing ovation. “What would France be without its museums, without its terraces, its concerts, its sports competitions?

“France should remain as it is. Our duty is to carry on our lives.”

In the same spirit, he added, “30,000 refugees will be welcomed over the next two years. Our country has the duty to respect this commitment,” explaining that they will undergo vigorous security checks.

Hollande noted that “some people say the tragic events of the last few days have sown doubts in their minds,” but called it a “humanitarian duty” to help those people … but one that will go hand in hand with “our duty to protect our people.”

They will assuredly NOT go “hand in hand.” They are, in fact, mutually exclusive. Why in the hell does anyone think France (or the US, for that matter) has any “duty” at all, humanitarian or otherwise, to protect foreign nationals from their own government?

And speaking of that “duty,” of that “moral obligation,” could there be a sharper, more infuriating irony than being lectured on “American values” by a lying, callow, America-hating Leftist douchebag like Obama?

In his latest harangue against Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and other Americans opposed to his insistence on continuing to import thousands of Muslim refugees from Syria and other parts of the jihad-ravaged Middle East, Obama declaimed:

When I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who’s fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted … that’s shameful…. That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.

Really? Under federal law, the executive branch is expressly required to take religion into account in determining who is granted asylum. Under the provision governing asylum (section 1158 of Title 8, U.S. Code), an alien applying for admission

must establish that … religion [among other things] … was or will be at least one central reason for persecuting the applicant.

The law requires a “religious test.” And the reason for that is obvious. Asylum law is not a reflection of the incumbent president’s personal (and rather eccentric) sense of compassion. Asylum is a discretionary national act of compassion that is directed, by law not whim, to address persecution.

There is no right to emigrate to the United States. And the fact that one comes from a country or territory ravaged by war does not, by itself, make one an asylum candidate. War, regrettably, is a staple of the human condition. Civil wars are generally about power. That often makes them violent and, for many, tragic; but it does not necessarily make them wars in which one side is persecuting the other side.

For Obama, no lie is a bridge too far when it comes to destroying America and rendering it defenseless before its enemies. Sounds a bit harsh, maybe, but once more I commend your attention to the CF Rule.

Let Obama bring in his hundred thousand “refugees.” Ship ’em straight to DC. Then build a wall around the shitpit, and don’t let a single soul out. That oughta fix pretty much every problem we have, all in one fell swoop.

Malignant jug-eared narcissist has panties in a wad

Okay, to hell with fair use, I’m just going to “excerpt” the whole damned thing. It’s just that good, a surgical strike on pResident Pissypants that manages to eviscerate His Awesomeness cleanly, no fuss, no muss.

Video: Man who can handle CNBC but not Putin wonders how Republicans will handle Putin if they can’t handle CNBC

Never before did I think Obama really might believe he’s had the upper hand on Russia lately but I don’t know how else to interpret this soundbite. It was Putin who came to Obama’s “rescue” two years ago with a plan to disarm Assad after O had boxed himself in on his “red line” threats to bomb Syria over WMD use. It was Putin who invaded Crimea and is now threatening the Baltic states knowing that NATO and its backbone force of American troops are a shadow of what it once was. It was Putin who answered Obama’s calls for new leadership in Syria by doubling down with military support for Assad, forcing the U.S. to back off its demands for immediate regime change. Putin is kicking sand in his face and any commander-in-chief even vaguely in touch with reality would be loath to acknowledge it knowing how that would make him appear. Either this guy has lost touch now that he’s slipped into de facto retirement and honestly thinks he’s “handling Putin” or he figured he could get away with this knowing that a friendly crowd would guffaw even at a perfectly apt Republican criticism just because that’s what partisans do.

But that’s only half the weirdness. The other half is the fact that Obama himself has whined plenty of times about unfriendly media, most notably Fox News. He joined Hillary and the rest of the Democratic primary field in 2007 by boycotting a debate hosted by Fox because the left demanded it. Two years later, as president, the administration tried to muscle Fox out of a series of interviews with “pay czar” Ken Feinberg even though all members of the White House press pool were otherwise invited to participate. Only when the other networks threatened to boycott the interviews too did Team O relent. Anyone who watched that CNBC trainwreck and has watched debates hosted by Fox knows that Bret Baier and Chris Wallace would have been more respectful of Democratic candidates than John Harwood and Becky Quick were of the Republicans. Obama’s house is awfully glassy for him to be throwing this particular stone. In fact, I’m not sure what he means when he says the GOP couldn’t handle CNBC. They couldn’t? Nearly everyone on stage challenged the moderators over the course of the night. If they had meekly played along and then complained about the debate afterward, that would have been grounds for claiming that Republicans had buckled before a hostile adversary. But they didn’t.

What you’re really seeing here, I think, is Princess’s ego showing. The charge that Putin is kicking sand in his face stings because it’s obviously true, and he didn’t pause in his annoyance before hitting back to consider whether maybe he wasn’t a gigantic hypocrite in doing so. Simple as that.

Every word of it is true, the only quibble I have being the supposition that pausing to take any prospective hypocrisy into consideration would have altered his reaction one iota. Obama is a punk–Putin’s bitch, a gutless pussy who only displays any backbone at all when dealing with his domestic enemies…and even then, hides behind his demented disciples’ shrieks of “RACIST!!” to slink around and do his dirty work like the cringing coward he really is. Sure, he’s got brass, insolence, and gall, but those things aren’t any more synonymous with courage than cunning and guile are with intelligence.

Annnnd here we go again

Dipping a toe at a time into yet another half-assed, halfheartedly fought, and never-to-be-won “war.”

President Obama is directing the Pentagon to send special forces into Syria to advise theSyrian opposition in its fight against ISIS, the White House said today.

The change will station U.S. special operations forces on the ground for the first time in Syria in its fight against the Islamic State after thousands of airstrikes in the past year produced mixed results, although their mission is expected to be primarily advisory.

The White House said Obama has authorized somewhere around 50 special operations forces to go into Syria to work with the rebel group known as the Syrian Arab Coalition. These forces will work along the Syrian border and not on the front lines with the rebel groups. They will provide training, assistance and advise just as U.S. troops are doing in Iraq.

And just as they did in Vietnam, the model for how America must fight–and lose–its wars of choice ever since.

50 guys? Really? Wow, the threat from IS must be dire indeed if the Liar In Thief is willing to commit a whole 50 pairs of boots on the ground to…well, whatever it is he wants us to think he’s doing over there.

“I certainly wouldn’t underestimate the capability and capacity of our U.S. special operations forces to be an important force multiplier anywhere around the world they’re deployed, and the president does expect that they can have an impact in intensifying our strategy for building the capacity of local forces inside of Syria to taking the fight on the ground to ISIL in their own country,” Earnest said, using the government’s acronym for ISIS.

Okay, can anybody out there explain to me the practical meaning of whatever it was he just said? If self-serving bafflegab and bullshit were men and materiel, we’d have conquered the entire world already.

Of course, the real missing link here is national will; without that, what we’re doing doesn’t even rise to the level of mere jerking off. And there is absolutely no, nada, zero national will to fight and win against Islam, which would be a damned difficult proposition even if the will was there. We’re too pusillanimous and gutless to call the enemy by his proper name, or admit that we have enemies at all, much less do the hard, the dirty, and the necessary to vanquish him utterly. And vanquishing him utterly is the only thing that’s going to work. Thus we get mealy-mouthed, pie in the sky bullshit like this from our benighted National “Command” “Authority”:

“The president has been quite clear that there is no military solution to the problems that are plaguing Iraq and Syria. There is a diplomatic one,” he said. “The president has put in place a multifaceted strategy to degrade and destroy ISIL and this military component to that strategy is an important part of the president’s top priority, which is the safety of the American public.”

Yeah. Right. So critically, vitally, crucially important he’s willing to send all of fifty (50) SpecWarriors under Welcome-Wagon ROEs to “engage” from an unspecified distance the most ruthless, cruel, inhuman, and deadly enemy imaginable, hiding behind a handful of inept kleptocrats who’ll cut and run at the first audible mouse fart and turn their weapons over to the enemy.

“The world’s lone superpower”? What we are is a bad joke, an international laughingstock using a hollowed-out military still resting on its WW2 laurels to big-mouth and blunder our way through a deadly-dangerous wilderness where civilized rules do not apply, and human life is without value. We come at them in the same old way, and they defeat us in the same old way: by literally handing us our heads.

As I’ve said before, I feel sorry for our men and women in uniform, many of whom are fine, capable professionals with a courage and integrity wholly absent from much of the populace they’re sworn to protect. They’re putting their lives on the line for a nation–and especially a national “leadership”–not worth a single drop of their honest sweat, much less blood. This bit is especially amusing, if only in a dark, bitter way:

During his 2013 address promising that he would never put boots on the ground in Syria, Obama said one major reason for his firm, no-troops-in-Syria policy is that Americans are “sick and tired” of aimless, unending wars in the Middle East. He even cited a combat veteran who told him that the nation was suffering from war exhaustion.

“One man wrote to me that we are ‘still recovering from our involvement in Iraq,’” Obama said. “A veteran put it more bluntly: ‘This nation is sick and tired of war.’”

In announcing the seismic change in Syria policy, White House officials failed to offer any evidence that the nation was no longer “sick and tired” of war. In fact, officials told NBC News that Obama’s new policy of deploying boots on the ground in Syria wasn’t a change in policy at all:

The move will be described as a “shift” but not a “change” in U.S. strategy against ISIS, according to another senior U.S. official. The official said the special operations forces will be stationed in northern Syria and work alongside groups with a “proven track record” of fighting ISIS.

The official quoted by NBC did not specify who these groups with “proven track record[s]” of fighting ISIS actually were. Despite spending $500 million in an effort to supply and train Syrian rebels, one senior American military official recently told Congress that only “four or five” anti-ISIS fighters were actually trained via the program.

The Obama administration is yet to publicly identify the precise, measurable goals it attends to achieve through its deployment of American combat troops in Syria.

Tell me, who’s supposed to be the “junior varsity” here again? Until this country decides it might actually have legitimate national interests, and that it isn’t too distasteful and offensive to their delicate sensibilities to defend those interests by use of necessary force, it needs to bring every last one of its troops back home. This mindless floundering and flouncing about in a war zone is way worse than just a waste of time.

Dictators gotta dictate, liars gotta lie

God, how sick I am of this rotten cur.

As President Obama continues his California fundraising tour, he encouraged his wealthy San Francisco friends to stop mass shootings by mobilizing for gun control.

Referring to the church shooting in Charleston, Obama insisted that mass shootings were “unique” to America because of its gun laws, adding such events don’t happen as often in other “advanced countries.”

“It’s not because there aren’t violent people or racist people or crazy people in other countries; it’s that a 21-year-old kid can’t just walk in and buy a firearm and, oftentimes, through gun shows, avoid background checks, and then act on this hatred,” he said. “And we’ve got to change that, and it’s not enough for us to express sympathy — we have to take action.”

So do it then, you sniveling pissant. Come and take them. We’re all waiting for you; if your diseased mentality and evil ideology require that you strip Americans of their natural rights and fling down and dance upon the plainspoken, clear meaning of the Constitution, you go right ahead and do it. Let’s all see what it gets ya. Liz Foley notes something else:

In every State in the country, a 21 year-old is considered an adult. So basically, Obama wants to ban adults from buying handguns.

Well, of course he does. He always did. He always will, him and all his Goosesteppin’ Left pals. Foley adds:

To be fair, our former adjunct professor of constitutional law taught before the Supreme Court decided DC v. Heller (2008) and  McDonald v. City of Chicago (2010). But surely he’s aware of them now. Oh wait–I’m assuming the current President of the United States actually cares about the Constitution. My bad.

Forgiven this time. But with every passing day, it’s becoming less and less easy to let any such willful ignorance about this swine’s motives and intentions slide. He is what he is–and what he is is becoming harder to ignore, shine on, or laugh off. He is a dedicated, dangerous enemy of everything this country is supposed to be all about. He isn’t just indifferent to the Constitution; he is wholeheartedly against it, and wishes to see it discarded completely, once and for all. The polite, “serious” talking heads can puff up their sunken chests over such an “inflammatory,” “uncivil” statement, but it is nothing more than the simnple truth, and there really can no longer be any meaningful argument about it.

The president of the United States is a villainous, cretinous scumbag

With apologies to villainous, cretinous bags of scum.

Giving voice to intense heartache, anger and sadness, President Barack Obama said Thursday the South Carolina church shooting that left nine people dead shows the need for a national reckoning on gun violence.

Obama, who knew the pastor killed in the Charleston attack, said he has been called upon too often to mourn the deaths of innocents killed by those “who had no trouble getting their hands on a gun.”

“Now is the time for mourning and for healing,” the president said. “But let’s be clear. At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries. It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency. And it is in our power to do something about it.”

True enough, if you don’t count England, Australia, Canada, France, Belgium, Germany, France, Norway, France, and Denmark, among others–almost all of whom, as Ace notes, “have adopted sensible, pragmatic Total Gun Bans.” He also includes links with that list, which I won’t bother transcribing here. Suffice it to say that this vicious, petty, calculating little pig (Obama, not Ace) simply could not wait to climb up on the coffins of the Charleston dead to start thumping his scrawny chest and pimping for one of the Left’s perennial pet projects. Of course, and as usual. We all know the tired routine of the classless, clueless hard-Left ghouls by now.

What a revolting, pissy little “man.” What a diseased mind he possesses. What a priggish little scold he is. It’s nothing less than a national disgrace that enough of our so-called countrymen were gullible enough to allow themselves to be duped into “electing” such an irredeemable scoundrel to high office. A bunch of decent people murdered by a random psycho, and his first thought is of advancing his liberal-fascist political agenda? THE ONE FUCKING TIME a hideous act of mass murder is actually committed by a true “lone wolf,” in the doublespeaking parlance of our joke of a national leadership and its hamfisted “security” apparatus, and since he’s not a Muslim they fall all over themselves to make a “larger issue” out of the infamy?

Obama ought to be tarred, feathered, and dropped off at an airport with a one-way ticket to Zimbabwe or Yemen or some such, where he can live out his days squatting in a tarpaper shack, scratching at fleas and muttering to himself about how awful this country is, and forbidden ever to even attempt to return to these shores on pain of summary and immediate execution.

As for his “in our power” demagoguery, I have only one thing to say: come and take them, you slimy son of a bitch. Charles Cooke allows himself to be bogged down in minutiae, making an argument that, while true enough empirically, avoids addressing the real issue:

The million dollar question, though, is, “Do what?” It is all very well to criticize the National Rifle Association and the Republican party for opposing further gun control, and yet it remains an inconvenient truth that not one of the reforms that the Democratic party proposed the last time it ventured into this debate would have changed the outcome here.

Back in 2013, when the country was still reeling from the abomination at Sandy Hook, President Obama hoped to achieve three things: 1) He hoped to ban so-called “assault weapons”; 2) he hoped to limit the size of commercially available magazines; and 3) he hoped to force all the states to require background checks when a firearm is privately transferred. Because the killer used a pistol with a regular magazine, the first two of these proposals are irrelevant here. Per Reuters, the shooter’s “father gave him a .45-caliber pistol for his birthday this year.” That pistol would not have fallen under any of the “assault weapons” bans that were proposed by Obama and his allies in Congress. Moreover, magazine capacity does not seem to have been an issue. The New York Times reports that the shooter took his time, stopping to talk and “[reloading] five times.” Had he been limited by law to ten rounds per magazine — as Dianne Feinstein would have liked — he would have been in no worse a position. (Most .45s come with magazines that hold seven, eight, or nine rounds.)

None of which matters a whit, because none of those things are what Obama (spit) and his fellow gun-grabbing hyenas are really after. They want guns banned and confiscated, the Second Amendment repealed, our God-given natural right to self-defense not only from individual assailants but from a tyrannical government gutted. They are not amenable to reason, as their position is not based on reason and is therefore wholly immune to it. And they will never, ever stop.

I repeat: come and take them, you bastards.

None of this can possibly come as a surprise to anyone by now; Obama remains exactly what he always has been: a repellent, dishonest, gutless, conniving, extreme-Left douchebag. And half the damned country still loves him–not despite all that, but because of it. If you want a close look at our real problem, well, right there it is. I remain completely flummoxed as to what might be done to rectify that, or if there’s even anything that can be done.

Update! Harsanyi responds to the Shitbag In Chief’s egregious lie with an even more comprehensive list than Ace’s: Parlez vous Hebdo?

Just call ’em what they are

Commies, plain and simple.

Despite pious rhetoric on the left about “asking” the more fortunate for more money, the government does not “ask” anything. It seizes what it wants by force. If you don’t pay up, it can take not only your paycheck, it can seize your bank account, put a lien on your home and/or put you in federal prison.

So please don’t insult our intelligence by talking piously about “asking.”

They’re pasting the good ol’ smiley face over the visage of Sauron. Just another “liberal” deception, basically. Next, it’s on to one of my biggest personal peeves:

And please don’t call the government’s pouring trillions of tax dollars down a bottomless pit “investment.” Remember the soaring words from Barack Obama, in his early days in the White House, about “investing in the industries of the future”? After Solyndra and other companies in which he “invested” the taxpayers’ money went bankrupt, we haven’t heard those soaring words so much.

Nor do we hear much about the “stimulus,” which was 800 billion or thereabouts that was supposed to have fixed all that broken, rusty infrastructure–shovel-ready jobs!–the Left is now ghoulishly trying to use as a pry-bar to lever still more spending and bigger government out of the Amtrak tragedy.

Then there are those who produced the wealth that politicians want to grab. In Obama’s rhetoric, these producers are called “society’s lottery winners.”

Was Bill Gates a lottery winner? Or did he produce and sell a computer operating system that allows billions of people around the world to use computers, without knowing anything about the inner workings of this complex technology?

Obama goes further than other income redistributionists. “You didn’t build that!” he declared to those who did. Why? Because those who created additions to the world’s wealth used government-built roads or other government-provided services to market their products.

And who paid for those roads and other government-provided services if not the taxpayers? Since all other taxpayers, as well as non-taxpayers, also use government facilities, why are those who created private wealth not to use them also, since they are taxpayers as well?

All that’s bad enough, naturally. But this is the truly depressing part:

The fact that most of the rhetorical ploys used by Barack Obama and other redistributionists will not stand up under scrutiny means very little politically. After all, how many people who come out of our schools and colleges today are capable of critical scrutiny?

By now you could probably count ’em all on your fingers and toes, with a few left over.

Community-organizing the jihad Part the Third

And lying about it. Of course, and as usual.

While Sisi sees a dangerous flaw in Islam, Obama believes America needs to be “fundamentally transformed” but Islam is fine as is. You see the problem, no?

In reality, the summit had so little to do with confronting terrorism that the president did not invite the FBI director — you know, the head of the agency to which federal law assigns primary responsibility for terrorism investigations.

The summit was really about advancing the “social justice” agenda of “progressive” politics. The president and his underlings somehow reason that the answer to the barbarity of ISIS and al-Qaeda is to “empower local communities” here and abroad. Apparently, if the community organizers rouse the rabble to demand that government address “injustice” and Muslim “grievances,” the alienation that purportedly drives young Muslims into the jihadists’ arms will abate. This is the strategic political aspect of the Left’s denial of terrorism’s ideological roots: If terrorism is not caused by Islamic supremacism, then it must be caused by something else…and that something somehow always manages to be a government policy opposed by the Left: insufficient income redistribution, running Gitmo, our alliance with Israel, surveillance of radical mosques, etc. Smearing your political opponents as the root cause of mass-murder attacks — it’s a very nice weapon to have in one’s demagogic arsenal.

To the extent the summit dealt with Islam, it was to play the counterproductive game of defining the “true” Islam in order to discredit the Islamic State and al-Qaeda as purveyors of a “false” or “perverted” Islam. To try to pull this off, Obama relied on the bag of tricks toted by his “moderate Islamist” allies (who also turn out to be reliable progressives).

In his summit speech, Obama made the concession — which was almost shocking coming from him — that ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorists “do draw” from “Islamic texts.” He mocked them, however, for doing so “selectively.” The clear suggestion was that the terrorists deceive when they assert that Islamic scripture commands Muslims to, for example, “strike terror into the hearts” of non-believers, decapitate them (“smite their necks”), or enslave them. He intimated that there must be some balancing scriptures, some other side of the story nullifying these belligerent commands.

But then, almost in the next breath, the president engaged in the same bowdlerizing of Islamic teaching of which he had just accused our enemies. We should, he said, be listening to, instead of the terrorists, “Muslim clerics and scholars” who “push back on this twisted interpretation” and assure us “that the Koran says, ‘Whoever kills an innocent, it is as if he has killed all mankind.’”

The Koran does indeed say that, in Sura 5:32. Yet, in the very next verse, conveniently omitted by Obama (5:33), it goes on to say…

Now, guess what it says. Go on, guess. Hint: it’s exactly what you’d expect if you’ve ever read much at all of Mohammed’s Little Murder Book–ie, more of the usual bloodthirsty totalitarian mania that characterizes Islam as it is perceived by the huge majority of its primitive devotees, and practiced by the more, shall we say, ambitious and energetic of them. How very selective of him not to mention it, eh?

But as McCarthy says, Obama’s treasonous Taqqiya Kaffeeklatsch was about nothing more nor less than promoting the Progressivist agenda by hook or by crook, just like everything else always is. I’ll say it again: there’s only one war Obama truly wants to fight, and it ain’t against IS; it’s against us.

Random Obama idiocy

McCarthy is all over the douchebag pretend pResident.

I don’t understand why folks are giving President Obama and his spokes-minions such a hard time over his insistence that Ahmedy Coulibaly, the terrorist who just happened to be Muslim committing terrorism that had nothing to do with Islam, was just “randomly” picking out folks in Paris to kill when he randomly came upon a grocery that just happened to be Jewish and, coincidentally, to have Jews in it, whom he randomly killed.

Sure, we know Coulibaly called a French TV station during the siege, said he was loyal to the Islamic State that has nothing to do with Islam, and that he picked this kosher market because he was targeting Jews. But you can’t believe everything you hear on TV — just ask Brian Williams.

Come to think of it, the Paris attack seems an awful lot like another random one in 2008. Back then, another group of Pakistani terrorists who just happened to be Muslim, and who belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba Islamic terrorist organization that has nothing to do with Islam, went looking for random folks to kill and just happened to stumble on the Nariman House, a Chabad Lubavitch Jewish center which, coincidentally, had Jews in it — Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife,Rivka, then six months pregnant.

Of course, when they were randomly detaining these two folks who happened to be Jewish before randomly killing them, the terrorists who happened to be Muslim were overheard in radio transmissions discussing how “the lives of Jews were worth 50 times those of non-Jews” in this jihad that had nothing to do with Islam. But hey, totally random, right?

By the way, have you ever flipped randomly through Islamic scripture?

I don’t know about you, but when I think of McCarthy humor doesn’t come up very high on the list of things I like about the guy’s writing. But he sure ’nuff does reel off a bunch of good zingers in this one.

The REAL state of the Union

Starting on the foreign policy side, Obama’s policies are driven by the flawed proposition that “smarter” leadership lies in building coalitions that “combine military power with strong diplomacy.” This position, he said in his State of the Union, pays concrete dividends: “In Iraq and Syria, American leadership—including our military power—is stopping ISIL’s advance. Instead of getting dragged into another ground war in the Middle East, we are leading a broad coalition, including Arab nations, to degrade and ultimately destroy this terrorist group.”

It is all wishful thinking. Militarily, it is never enough to stop an advance if it allows the enemy to use the breathing space to entrench itself further in the places that are under occupation. Obama’s word choice of “ultimately” allows for endless equivocation and delay. The odds of putting together an effective coalition without demonstrable leadership are slim to none, for the President’s only firm commitment—not to use ground troops ever against ISIL—signals to our allies that they too can discharge their obligations by flying the occasional sortie against ISIL positions.

The President may think that it has been an accomplishment to reduce over the past six years the number of American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from close to 180,000 to under 15,000. But to everyone else, the civil disorder attributable to American disengagement signals that America is not an ally to be trusted.

The President therefore grossly miscalculates when he concludes that “The shadow of crisis has passed, and the State of the Union is strong.” Unfortunately, the facts on the ground show the opposite. Right now the President is bogged down in negotiations with the Iranians over their deployment of nuclear weapons. Little visible progress has been made to date.

Originally, the President supported at most a six-month moratorium on sanctions in order to lead the Iranians to the bargaining table. Yet when faced with their stalling tactics, he has pleaded for additional time, thus backing away from his explicit promise to keep a firm deadline for making a deal and vowing to veto any legislation that tries to firm up the initial position. Congress may well intervene to keep him to his original word. Generally, this kind of interference is most unwise, but the bipartisan unhappiness on the Iran problem reveals a complete and bipartisan breakdown in trust between Congress and the President.

Another sign of foreign policy disarray was the Congressional invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address the United States Congress in the middle of his own election campaign in Israel. When the President goes off track, the Congress tries the risky tactic of compensating for his errors, making it easy for everyone to second-guess its decisions.

It is also no surprise that the Russians under Putin have extended their offensive activities in the Ukraine, with a new attack on the key port of Mariupol in Eastern Ukraine. Why not, when the United States will not supply Ukraine any military weapons for self-defense? But to the President, his policy has succeeded “by opposing Russian aggression, supporting Ukraine’s democracy, and reassuring our NATO allies.” With support like ours, what are friends worth?

And that’s just the foreign policy side. You can read on for the conclusion domestically, which basically boils down to “even worse, if you can believe it.” But it needs to be borne in mind that, for America-hating socialists like our pretend pResident, “success” is defined very differently than for real Americans. And under the delusional mindset required to sustain an unswerving dedication to a failed statist collectivism that has failed every single time it’s been tried, His Royal Majesty has been very successful indeed.

Quote of the century

And right on the money, too.

With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case. Because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed. And I know that everybody here at Bell is studying hard so you know that we’ve got three branches of government. Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws. There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply, through executive order, to ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as president.

I don’t need to tell you again who said that, do I? I’ll add more from Cooke’s excellent article later as an update, maybe, but for now I want that eternally damning quote to stand on its own, right up top here, as we all pick through the rubble and ashes of the former Constitutional Republic to see what’s left to us now.

Another damned racist.

“[T]here’s no denying that many blacks share the same anxieties as many whites about the wave of illegal immigration flooding our Southern border—a sense that what’s happening now is fundamentally different from what has gone on before…”

”Not all these fears are irrational,” he wrote.

“The number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century,” (the author) noted. “If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole—especially by keeping our workforce young, in contrast to an increasingly geriatric Europe and Japan—it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.”

“Native-born Americans suspect that it is they, and not the immigrant, who are being forced to adapt” to social changes caused by migration, he said.

“And if I’m honest with myself, I must admit that I’m not entirely immune to such nativist sentiments,” (he) wrote. “When I see Mexican flags waved at pro-immigration demonstrations, I sometimes feel a flush of patriotic resentment. When I’m forced to use a translator to communicate with the guy fixing my car, I feel a certain frustration.”

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MAN, take off the Klan hood and recognize the inherent worthiness of the hopes of Dream A Little Dreamers all over the country!

Ah well, h8ers gotta h8, I reckon. And since I’m sure you already figured out who this particular h8er is, I’ll let McQ give ya a steer to another radical extremely extremist statement he made a while back. Just for the yocks, y’understand.

Gee, it’s too bad that guy wasn’t elected president, eh? On the other hand, in a very real sense, he was. It’s just that he never took office; the lying fraud behind the mask did instead.

Update! Geraghty finds more, this one from an address the Liar in Thief gave to his racist-thug homies of La Raza:

Now, I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own. (Applause.) And believe me, right now dealing with Congress –

AUDIENCE: Yes, you can! Yes, you can! Yes, you can! Yes, you can! Yes, you can!

THE PRESIDENT: Believe me — believe me, the idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. (Laughter.) I promise you. Not just on immigration reform. (Laughter.) But that’s not how — that’s not how our system works.

THE PRESIDENT: That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written.

It certainly isn’t–not that that bit of irrelevant trivia really matters to either the audience or the speaker in this case. But boil it down and it means that as both a practical and an ethical matter, Old Obama would have to be in favor of impeaching New Obama. Talk about your Reality Dysfunctions. This one is beginning to make me a bit dizzy.
