The real culprit

Once more for the libtards: your laws don’t work.

It should not matter if these incidences are occurring because of a political correctness stigma around mental health, or just dumb laziness. If federal employees cannot perform the simplest of tasks of enforcing laws already on the books meant to keep people safe, then those employees need to be released and their agencies eliminated.

The National Rifle Association and lawful gun owners are not involved in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. During the shooting in Texas, a former NRA instructor was instrumental in stopping Kelley’s rampage – a rampage that could have been prevented had our government not been asleep at the wheel again. But sure, let’s turn over our health care to the government now.

If our government cannot perform simple tasks like filling our criminal record forms and entering information into databases, then why in the world would we burden federal employees with new gun laws that do nothing but restrict the constitutional rights of citizens and vendors in full compliance with the law?

Start with enforcing the federal laws on the books before attempting one of those “conversations” about curtailing rights. When our government gets that right, then we can have a larger discussion about the Second Amendment.

Actually, no, we can’t. There is but one “discussion” of the Second Amendment, and it’s not particularly large, nor is it complicated or difficult to understand. It is merely this: SHALL. NOT. BE. INFRINGED. Which can be translated, roughly, as: “you’ll never, ever get mine, no matter how many damned laws you pass.” Full stop, end of discussion—nothing more need ever be said.

A comparison

Which yields a dismal conclusion. Several, actually.

In Vegas, there is no reason to conclude beyond a reasonable doubt that the guy tagged for it actually carried it out, because no one saw him do it.

In Texas, most of a church-full of people could tell you exactly who did it, and one of the people who saw him do it followed him with a rifle – after shooting him with said rifle – to the point when police finally arrived minutes later to take custody of the corpse.

In neither incident did the police do anything worthwhile in any way to deter, inhibit, nor end either shooting. Their sole contribution, as in 99.9% of shootings, is to unroll barrier tape, chalk outlines around bodies, and gather evidence and fill out reports for trials that will never happen. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Not one of 30,000 gun laws did one single thing to prevent or even delay either shooting.
Nor would any 30,000 more accomplish anything better.

The notionally presumptive Vegas shooter broke no laws until he knocked out windows and opened fire.
The Texas shooter broke every law imaginable, being legally prohibited from even so much as possessing any firearm. Shocking Every Clueless Barking Leftard Moonbat The Usual Suspects, a homicidal criminal breaks the law, exactly as the definition of the word “criminal” might imply to someone with an IQ greater than their shoe size. (Every politician with a (D) after your name, call your office…)

In both cases, those same Usual Suspects wasted not one moment before beginning their usual insane catcalls to punish everyone who didn’t do either crime, by banning more guns (again!), whilst gleefully dancing in the still warm pools of the blood of the victims to do so. Every one of them, from Congressbitch Shitweasel Gabby Giffords, to the retinue of Hollywood misogynist pedophile- and rapist-enabling celebutards, should be castigated verbally and egged  – by the dozen, please – physically, until they grow a verbal filter sufficient to shut their pieholes, pretty much until the grave takes over the task for them when they die of natural causes. They are shitlords of the lowest order, and there is no amount of public shaming – up to activating their dental plans, in a need for new implants sort of way – that goes too far in shouting them down and howling them into silence.

In both cases, the media engages in knee-jerk around-the-clock non-stop coverage, but only to gin up their well-deserved flagging ratings, and to service their own anti-gun agenda, while contributing nothing but ass-gas to the discussion, and shunting 50 more important daily stories into the dustbin, stopping just short of tying strings to the bloody corpses and using them as marionettes on live TV.

As I said, several conclusions are unavoidable here, none of them pleasant. But the most important one we can draw is an eternal one: liberals, statists, collectivists, fascists, whatever—your laws do not work. They have NEVER worked; they never WILL work. I ain’t just talking about gun control here, either. Your desire for absolute control over each and every one of us in order to engineer us into your ideal of a Perfect Man—itself a highly destructive, self-defeating absurdity—is a fantasy, a pipe dream. It isn’t going to happen, and the results you’ll get from the attempt are never going to be what you hope for or expect. Which failure is only to be expected from meager intellects pretending to superiority—from people who arrogantly deny God as “silly superstition” while trying to set themselves and their misbegotten Superstate in His place.

In sum: come and take them, you sniveling wretches.

I was in an e-mail conversation with CF friend and supporter Sam Sorenson earlier wherein I said that it seems as if liberals are smack in the middle of a sort of cosmic karmic comeuppance of late, suffering one humiliating pratfall after another as all their cherished shibboleths just keep blowing up in their faces one right after another. We were discussing it in the context of another issue which I’ll be getting into later, but the truth is I can’t think of a time when reality has bitten them harder than this:

Hero Who Stopped Texas Gunman: I Couldn’t Have Stopped Him Without My AR-15
The hero who stopped the gunman behind the deadly Texas church massacre said using an AR-15 enabled him to end the bloodshed. In an emotional interview with CRTV’s “Louder With Crowder” on Monday, Stephen Willeford described the gunfight and dramatic car chase that ensued to stop the shooter from slaughtering additional churchgoers.

“If I had run out of the house with a pistol and faced a bulletproof vest and kevlar and helmets, it might have been futile,” Willeford said. “I ran out with an AR-15 and that’s what he was shooting the place up with.”

“I hate to politicize that, but that’s reality,” he added.

A perfectly delightful pressing of nearly every gun-grabber button, that was: a heroic gun owner, who also happens to be a member in good standing of the perfidious NRA, uses an evil, deadly semi-fully automatic assault-weapon rifle gun to successfully halt a massacre all on his own, with no guidance, consultation, coordination, or permission from or with any State organ, bureaucracy, or agency—and shows no remorse for his inexpert and presumptuous audacity.

Meanwhile, the mad killer was in no way deterred or hindered by any of the more than 30,000 gun control laws already on the books and, as Aesop says above, would not have been stopped by 30,000 more. He got his weapons and gear in open defiance of them, after having eluded every legal and administrative roadblock the State could muster against him—after dodging every regulation, system, procedure, and doctrine designed to recognize, analyze, diagnose, persuade, re-educate, restrain, or otherwise neutralize him. He killed with perfect impunity until an armed citizen with a far more highly developed sense of responsibility, self-respect, community, and simple duty than self-righteous liberals will ever possess stepped up and did the necessary. This dauntless man didn’t “cower in place,” he didn’t wait until help arrived, he didn’t piss his pants or faint dead away, he didn’t tremble and quake in fear as they would prefer.

And he got the job done, where all their high dudgeon and legalisms failed miserably. Just as they always do. More, and worse, he did so in a most public way, so that the calm efficacy of his heroism and the relevance of his underlying beliefs cannot possibly be denied, and the futility and folly of their own was written in blood on the church-house floor. Worse still, the heroic law-abiding owner of this semi-fully automatic assault-weapon rifle gun had never heretofore hurt anybody with his deadly murderous man-killing machine of a weapon; it never once exerted its nefarious mind-control power to influence him to wantonly kill a single soul, and it never once hopped up out of his cabinet, rack, or safe to go out and do bloody mayhem on its own. Indeed, his legal ownership of this morally repugnant Weapon Of Mass Destruction would most likely never have been made widely known at all if he hadn’t used it properly to provide us all with such a shining example of toxic masculinity and the traditional manly virtues of courage, valor, self-reliance, daring, and selfless concern for his fellow citizens liberals despise so much, and have all but wiped from the shriveled souls and intellects of the weak, emasculated Pajama Boys they’re producing in job lots.

Making it all even more satisfying is the response their propaganda organs are even now being forced to report daily: all across the country, pastors with more concern for their flocks’ safety than for respecting the pious liberal mandate enforcing their cringing helplessness are declaring their intention to arm themselves, and are calling for their congregants to do likewise. The idea of these people taking the fundamental human responsibility of self-defense into their own hands by availing themselves of the most useful tool for doing so must have liberal “journalists” in a sweating, gibbering rage when they’re off-camera. Already, we have this lecture approvingly compiled by a gun-grabbing liberal writer who probably hasn’t seen the inside of a church in…well, ever.

“I think the religion of Robert Jeffress is not the religion of Jesus,” McBride told ThinkProgress in an interview. “I think it is becoming increasingly apparent that we have a practice of blasphemous Christianity by many so-called Christians. Jesus is the Prince of Peace in a world of war. Rather than continue to push for more instruments of death, which are unable to keep us safe, we must rather start to call for a more peaceful existence that limits the proliferations of instruments of death.”

“Unable to keep us safe”? Might want to ask the people who survived the slaughter exclusively because of the skillful wielding of one of those “instruments of death” how they feel about your so cavalierly condemning them to death by massacre instead, you addled-pated, despicable wretch.

He added: “Any faith leader that calls for an opposite of that…has a deep moral hole in their soul, and they should be ignored.”

Other critics of gun violence include Shane Claiborne, a prolific Christian speaker and writer who works with an initiative that literally melts down AR-15s–weapons similar to the one reportedly used by Sutherland shooter–and turns them into plowshares, in keeping with a biblical reference.

Note, please, that not one of these mass-murder events has ever been halted, disrupted, or forestalled by a plowshare. Not a single fucking one. But hey, you’re doing great work there, Rev. You’re really Making A Difference, you are. Guys like you are about as useless as tits on a boar hog. But hey, self-righteousness, egotistical preening, and pointless demonstrations of moral superiority are what Christianity is really all about, right?

“Jesus carried a cross not a gun,” Claiborne told ThinkProgress. “He said greater love has no one that this–to lay down their life for another. The early Christians said ‘for Christ we can die but we cannot kill.’ When Peter picked up a sword to protect Jesus and cut off a guys ear, Jesus scolded him and put the ear back on. The early Christians said ‘when Jesus disarmed peter he disarmed every Christian.’ Evil is real but Jesus teaches us to fight evil without becoming evil. One the cross we see what love looks like when it stares evil in the face. Love is willing to die but not to kill.”

Left unmentioned is the evil of failing to properly reverence and respect the sanctity of God’s gift of life by refusing to defend not only one’s own but that of others against the preventable or at least stoppable depredations of people who disregard it entirely. But it does dovetail rather nicely with the liberal clergy’s shallow ignorance, and the press’s cynical, willful, and underhanded misrepresentation of Jesus as a pacifist—a deception intended to undermine Christianity rather than honestly analyze or respect its teachings, from “journalists” who have spent a hefty portion of their careers railing against Christianity, insulting Christians, and demeaning religion generally (Eastern mysticism, Islam and a nebulous, adolescent, but specifically non-religious and undemanding “spirituality” excepted).

In any event, we can all expect more fawning reportage shortly from anything-goes urban liberal churches whose contemptible but insidious practice is to neglect Western theology in favor of proselytizing for “diversity,” “tolerance,” “outreach,” and a general supine pacifism to counter this crippling assault on their faltering narrative. Pastors whose enthusiasm for political correctness and whatever other thumbsucking sophistry is currently fashionable with Leftist “intellectuals” far outweighs their commitment to Christian dogma—and whose dwindling congregants will be heavily outnumbered by the “journalists” eagerly reporting on them—will be lauded for their courage as they launch various programs, marches, and councils to call for disarmament, understanding, openness, and “love.” These hapless sheep will be hailed as “heroes,” possessed of far more true courage and moral authority than the embarrassing rednecks who think self-defense is desirable, ethical, or even possible against the violent impulses of deranged lunatics whose madness has been exacerbated if not outright caused by the infantilization of the populace, the sense of futility and self-loathing it engenders, and the general social decay that are the diseased fruits of Progressivism. Steyn understands the rot, and what it must inevitably produce:

A republic requires virtue, and the decline of virtue is accompanied necessarily by the decline of the concept of evil, and its substitution by exculpatory analysis of the “motives” of evil. A more useful conversation would be on what it takes to remove the most basic societal inhibition – including the instinctive revulsion that would prevent most of us from taking the lives of strangers, including in this case eighteen-month-old babies. That inhibition is weaker in the dar al-Islam, because of Islam’s institutional contempt for “the other” (unbelievers) but also because of the rewards promised in the afterlife. Thus, violence is sanctioned by paradise. That is the precise inversion of our society, and yet the weakening of inhibition seems to be proceeding here, too. A church sealed off by yellow police tape: a shameful and astonishing sight, and yet one senses that it will neither shame nor astonish us for long, that something else will come along to make the records books and distract a couple of news cycles.

“Solipsistic psychos” and “feeble narcissism”: As I write, someone is on the airwaves promising that we will soon know the “motive” of the shooter. To dignify what drove this guy to do what he did as “motive” is to torture the word beyond meaning. But then our interest in the concept of “motive” is highly variable.

So, when a “Minnesota man” stabs mall shoppers while yelling “Allahu Akbar!”, the motive “remains unclear”: The befuddlement is nigh on universal …for years on end. But a fellow who thinks getting a bad-conduct discharge or falling out with your mother-in-law, or losing your job or being dumped by your girl or having your mom suggest that as you’re pushing thirty it might be time to move out of the basement, is a “motive” for shooting up a church or a schoolhouse or a movie theatre or an old folks’ home or whatever’s next, that guy we’re fascinated by, for weeks on end – and then months and years later on in all those “Inside the Mind of…”TV documentaries. They have church shootings in Egypt and Pakistan, too, but in service of cleansing the dar al-Islam of believing Christians, and leaving Islam king on a field of corpses. Our church shootings are in service of…what?

Texas officials now believe they have their “motive” – in their words, “a domestic situation going on in this family”; in my words, “the black void at the heart of the act”. It is a grim phenomenon, its accelerating proliferation is deeply disturbing, and it is not unconnected to the broader societal weakness in which Islam senses its opportunity.

Nope. And neither are those two things—sharing a connection made possible by the seemingly puzzling alliance of convenience between unchurched Western libertines and a primitive religion that would happily kill them all for their degeneracy—happening by accident, either.

Ta Nahisi Coates is a damned idiot

But when he goes attacking Shelby Foote, he’s putting himself on the fightin’ side of me.

Specifically, Kelly has been excoriated for daring to call Robert E. Lee an “honorable man” and expressing the same view of the Civil War put forward in Burns’ enormously popular 1990 Civil War documentary. Up until this week, Burns’ series had been a celebrated work—a restored version of the series aired on PBS just two years ago. But now, at least according to Jonathan Chait of New York magazine, Burns’ masterpiece is a “disaster,” mostly because it relied heavily on interviews with Foote.

Foote is, of course, the author of his own celebrated Civil War masterpiece, a three-volume narrative history of the war, each about a thousand pages long, that stands as a triumph of American history and literature. The trilogy, which began as a contract with Random House to write a short one-volume history to mark the war’s approaching centennial, took Foote 20 years to write.

The volumes, published between 1958 and 1974, were almost immediately hailed as a seminal contribution to American letters. Writing in The New Republic, literary scholar and critic Louis D. Rubin Jr. said Foote’s trilogy “is a model of what military history can be.” The New York Times Book Review called it “a remarkable achievement, prodigiously researched, vigorous, detailed, absorbing.” (Presumably by today’s standards these reviewers would be upbraided for praising Foote.)

All of which is true. Now watch as a real mental pygmy crawls up on a better man’s shoulders and starts thumping his scrawny chest.

But because we live in an ignorant age, Foote’s reputation is getting dragged through the mud. In an article noting that White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended Kelly’s comments by citing the Burns documentary, Chait writes that Burns relies heavily on Foote, and “Foote presented Lee and other Confederate fighters as largely driven by motives other than preserving human property, and bemoaned the failure of the North and South to compromise (a compromise that would inevitably have preserved slavery).”

This should be dismissed as a simple case of historical ignorance, especially since it’s been repeated so often by a Wikipedia-reliant press corps over the past few days. Even someone with a cursory knowledge of the Civil War should know that the war came about, as all wars do, because of a failure to compromise.

In our case, the entire history of the United States prior to outbreak of war in 1861 was full of compromises on the question of slavery. It began with the Three-Fifths Compromise written into the U.S. Constitution and was followed by the Missouri Compromise of 1820 (which prohibited slavery north of the 36°30’ parallel, excluding Missouri), the Compromise of 1850, then the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, which repealed the Missouri Compromise and eventually led to the election of Abraham Lincoln and the subsequent secession of the southern states. Through all this, we inched toward emancipation, albeit slowly.

In other words, the breakdown of all those decades of compromise did indeed lead to the Civil War. This is a point that Foote and other historians have made many times and that Kelly tried his best to paraphrase. Compromising on slavery had been part of how America stayed together, and staved off war, from the beginning. No historian disputes this. But for writers like Chait and The Atlantic’s Ta-Nehisi Coates, compromise was a bad thing because it preserved slavery. That such compromises limited slavery’s spread and put it on the path to extinction carries no weight with them.

That’s because Coates, like all too many black Americans, suffers from complete tunnel vision when it comes to slavery, especially as it intersects with and vivifies their default hatred for America. Our historical experience with slavery is shared by plenty of other nations and cultures stretching back to antiquity…except for the part where we fought a most hideous and bloody war to put an end to it. In that, we’re unique.

To put the cherry on all this pluperfect dumbassery, Coates conveniently ignores—as all his fellow Leftard America-haters do—the inconvenient fact that slavery is still practiced in plenty of African and Moslem nations to this very day. Not that you’ll ever hear one word of protest uttered by them over that inconvenient little fact. The only instance of the “peculiar institution” that seems to matter to them is the one that happened here, and was abolished going on two centuries ago.

All of which means Coates and his contemptible ilk can and should be fairly ignored—not just on this issue, but every other one too. Anybody so willfully blinded by their own over-emotional dimwittedness on any one issue is not to be trusted to have a remotely intelligent take on anything else. Thankfully, Foote’s legacy will far outshine and outlast whatever meager, noisome droppings will end up having to serve Coates as a pitiful excuse for one.

No surprise here

The greatest baseball announcer of all time has seen enough, thanks.

Saturday night, former Dodgers announcer and Hall of Famer Vin Scully was at the Pasadena Civic Center for an event called “An Evening With Vin Scully.”

At some point during the event, Scully was asked about the NFL’s national anthem protests, in which players have taken a knee during the anthem to protest police brutality and racism. Scully said he “will never watch another NFL game” because of the protests.

Here is a full transcript of Scully’s comments, via Deadspin:

“I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed. And I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year — didn’t go anywhere, didn’t do anything. But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach. I will never watch another NFL game.”

God, I love the man. And I’m with him all the way on this, although I gave up on the Negro Felons League for good a long while before he did. For me, this latest nonsense merely served to reaffirm that long-ago decision, and cast it in concrete. But when a true giant of American sports like Scully—a bona fide living legend—throws up his hands in disgust like this, well, I’d say the writing is on the wall for the over-privileged dumbasses responsible for putting the finishing touch on the destruction of their staggering sport.

Architects of atrocity

Sorry, Chuckles: squirm however you may like, but you own this one. Lock, stock, and barrel.

President Donald Trump wasted no time pointing his finger at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer after an alleged terrorist killed eight people in New York City this week.

Yet the president’s broadside against a top lawmaker whose home city just suffered a tragedy stunned absolutely no one on Capitol Hill. It was the latest — some argue saddest — display of political discourse that once would have been unthinkable but has become the new normal in the Trump era.

“It’s probably not the time to be attacking the native son of the city where the attack occurred,” said Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.).

Um. Trump is from NYC too, asshole.

Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to blast Schumer for authoring legislation in 1990 creating a green card lottery that the administration said the suspect, Sayfullo Saipov, used to enter the United States seven years ago.

Emphasis entirely mine, and absolutely vital. I repeat: Schemer, his liberal comrades, the liberal judges who attempted to halt Trump’s perfectly sensible travel restrictions on individuals from terror-sponsoring Moslem nations—they ALL own this attack, every last halfwit among ’em. If it weren’t for him, Schemer especially, this guy would most likely not have been here in the first place. This part, though, is just priceless:

“New Yorkers, and all of us, compare President Bush right after 9/11, and President Trump right after this horrible terrorist attack,” Schumer said. “President Bush united us. He had us in the White House the next day, saying how we need to work together. All President Trump does is take advantage — horrible advantage — of a tragedy, and try to politicize and divide.”

Wait, what? You mean Bushitler, Chuckles? You’re nostalgic now for the most evil, un-American, destructive, hate- and warmongering president in American history, reviled by you and your toxic colleagues endlessly the entire time he was in office?

“This is a tragedy. It’s less than a day after it occurred, and he can’t refrain for a day from his nasty, divisive habits,” Schumer added. “He’s called me names before. I stick by my values. It doesn’t divert me.”

Schumer also snuck in his own counter-punch, pointing out that Trump’s budget proposal had cut back on anti-terrorism funding, and he called on Trump to seek more money for those programs.

Thereby politicizing this event in a most divisive way himself. Naturally. You can’t really politicize terrorism anyway, not anymore than it already is, because terrorism is fundamentally a political act. Terrorism, after all, is war, and war is the continuation of politics by other means, as Clausewitz famously said. But hearing the squeals about the horror of Trump “politicizing” this atrocity from the very people who have never yet passed up a chance to climb up on the coffins of the victims of any mass murder to mewl for gun control and confiscation is especially rich.

Guess we need us some reasonable, common-sense rental-truck control now, eh, douchebags?

Here’s the most telling bit of all, revealing as it does just why Chuckles is suddenly so squirmy and wormy about it all:

Yet Schumer found himself having to answer questions on the so-called diversity visa lottery program the terror suspect reportedly used to emigrate from his native Uzbekistan. Schumer was the author of that program, which was included in broader immigration package signed into law by President George H.W. Bush in 1990. Schumer and other senators proposed scrapping the lottery as part of a comprehensive immigration reform package in 2013, but the House never took up that bill.

And there you have it. Own it, Chuckles. You and the rest of you hard-Left morons who insist on piling failed policy on top of failed policy—policy the rest of us have to pay for in blood, while you cower behind your walled homes and your armed security guards. You OWN it.

These continuing, ever-more-frequent attacks are not some natural, unpreventable events; they aren’t “disasters” or “tragedies” like hurricanes or tornados, things out of our control that we are powerless to prevent or defend ourselves against. We KNOW who’s doing them; we know WHY they’re doing them, and we know they intend to go right ON doing them, every single chance we give them. We have NO obligation whatsoever to provide them the opportunity.

We also know how to stop them. They have no right or legitimate reason to be allowed into our country at all; we have every right to keep them out if we wish, and it’s perfectly moral, ethical, and legally permissible to do just that. There is no need to import hordes of low-IQ, unskilled, unemployable, unassimilable primitives who hate and despise us, and long only to see us dead, dead, dead. There is no demand for them. They contribute nothing at all to our society or our culture.

Only the Left wants them here, and their reasons are either muttonheaded or malignant.

Thus Trump succeeded in one sense: Flipping the debate after the New York attack to immigration, not whether the U.S. intelligence community and law-enforcement agencies had somehow missed Saipov as a potential terrorist.

“We don’t know the details of this person. The green card program has a long serious program that takes a year,” Schumer said. “I have always believed in immigration as good for America. So do most Americans. I stand by that today.”

While trying as hard as you can to wiggle out from under it, like the slimy little liberal shitweasel you are, and always have been. You OWN this guy, you miserable worm.

Wonder if he’ll actually have the gall, the sheer brass balls, to attend any of the funerals for the people his idiocy got killed yesterday?

But the real question, I guess, is this: will any of the bereaved families and friends of those people finally wise up and vote him the fuck out of office, as should have been done decades ago?

Update! GREAT line from Steyn:

“I don’t know where they are having dinner tonight, but let’s say Cuomo and De Blasio, whatever restaurant you are in- if you walked in and yelled “Allahu akbar,” they would dive under the table like everybody else,” Steyn insisted.

And it gets even better from there:

I thought Governor Cuomo’s remarks about New Yorkers’ “resilience” – for going to work and going to school today – in particularly poor taste when five Argentines are going home in coffins. The dead had been enjoying a 30th anniversary school reunion, so the slaughter has not only blown a hole in their friends’ future but also in their past, in all the school reunions to come with the classmates who aren’t there.

Nevertheless, Cuomo is just applying the same repulsive strategy seen in Paris and London and Manchester, dignifying as “resilience” what is really an enfeebled passivity no better than the Eloi in H G Wells’ The Time Machine, who even as their neighbors are stolen by the Morlocks in the night forget them instantly and gather in the dawn to dance and arrange flowers as if nothing has happened. Free peoples need to recover some righteous anger, or they will lose their futures – and deserve to.

As Glenn has repeatedly said, our Moslem antagonists hate us deeply, sure enough. But worse, much worse, they despise us. And that’s because we’re, well, despicable. Having them hate us wouldn’t matter nearly so much if they also feared us along with it. Alas, they do not, and have no reason to. Until they do, we can expect a lot more of the same—and as Steyn says, we deserve it.

Updated update! They just can’t help themselves.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said “the last thing we should do is start casting aspersions on whole races of people or whole religions or whole nations. That only makes the situation worse.”

De Blasio also warned against stereotyping all Muslims as extremists.

“Anyone who wants to come into this country should be very thoroughly vetted as an individual,” he said. “But the minute you start generalizing it, especially to a whole religion, then unfortunately we’re sending the exact negative message that a lot of our enemies want and the terrorist wants to affirm — that this nation is somehow anti-Muslim. We’ve got to do the exact opposite. We’ve got to show we respect all people in America. That’s about as American of a value as there is.”

Yeah, right. Because after all, see, it’s really OUR fault, for not being nice enough to them, not showing them enough Love.

But while you’re lecturing the rest of us on how terrorism is all our fault and the importance of “respecting all people,” Bill, do tell us: how do you plan to get your precious Moslem imports to respect women, pray tell? Or gays? Or infidels? Or atheists? Or the laws, customs, and culture of the nation you’re treasonously helping them to invade? Do you plan on insisting on any of that at all? Do you have any realistic expectation of success with it? Can you point out to me just one instance where such a program has actually, y’know, worked? Ever? Anywhere?

Once you get all that figured out, genius, you can get back to me on the rest of it. Until then, spare me the insipid, puerile platitudes, you fucking suppurating carbuncle.

Update to the updated update! Did somebody mention reasonable, common-sense rental-truck control?

KRISTOF: This is incredibly complicated and there is no silver bullet. If anything, it’s like silver buckshot. We can do more with intelligence. We can do more with trying to limit the access people have to weapons, including trucks. The New York City Police Department has an outstanding counterterrorism operation. And indeed, they’ve tried very hard to prevent truck-rental organizations from renting to people who might blow things up. But you can’t get perfect compliance.

No, I should think not. Not least because the moment somebody starts refusing to rent trucks to Moslems or even screening them at all, you’ll be at the very front of the liberal protest mob shrieking about “discrimination” and “bigotry” and “racial profiling” and “Islamophobia.” You’ll drive them out of business, and every other rental agency will know better afterward to even think about doing any such thing. And that, as they say, will be that.

Know what else the NYPD “tried very hard” to do?

The NYPD targeted a Paterson mosque in its surveillance of Muslims in New York and New Jersey — recording license plates and photographing worshipers — according to new, detailed reports that shed more light on the massive spying operation across state lines.

The New York Police Department’s actions have drawn sharp rebuke from some local and state officials, who said the targeting of citizens based on religion and ethnicity may have violated their civil rights. On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., was the latest public official to call for an investigation into the NYPD’s actions and into whether proper protocol was followed and constitutional rights were respected.

The liberals screamed bloody murder, of course, and the surveillance was ended back in 2012. But guess what mosque the NYC terrorist attended. Go on, guess.

You fucking OWN this, libtards.

Russia scandal breaks wide open

Remember back when I said HILLARY!, Mueller, and the rest of the Gang Who Couldn’t Shoot Straight ought to be very careful about opening the Russia can, lest they find themselves inundated with worms?

The big story this week is that the FBI uncovered a Moscow bribery plot just before the Obama Administration approved the transfer of 20 per cent of American uranium into the hands of the Russians.

And who precisely were the Russkies trying to bribe?

They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.

The racketeering scheme was conducted “with the consent of higher level officials” in Russia who “shared the proceeds” from the kickbacks, one agent declared in an affidavit years later.

Fancy that! A racketeering scheme centered on the Clintons! Who’da thunk it? Other names in the story have a weary familiarity, too:

The connections to the current Russia case are many. The Mikerin probe began in 2009 when Robert Mueller, now the special counsel in charge of the Trump case, was still FBI director. And it ended in late 2015 under the direction of then-FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired earlier this year.

Only at the FBI could you investigate the Clinton uranium deal for over six years – until Hillary is too far advanced on her path to the Democrat nomination for it to be politically feasible to stop her. Fifty per cent of America remains committed to not noticing the stench of the Clinton “Foundation” …and not seeing any – what’s the word? – collusion between Bill and Hill’s hundred mil and Vladimir Putin’s mountain of uranium.

Any chance justice will finally come a-callin’ for the Clintons? I suppose anything’s possible. To get away with the “Foundation” scam for as long as Bill and Hill did would be a challenge for most of us. To do it under a six-year Mueller/Comey FBI investigation testifies yet again to the uniquely charmed lives these two lead…

Trump should demand an investigation into Comey’s and Mueller’s Russia investigation, thus squaring the circle of a government so bloated, incompetent, and Byzantinely convoluted it can’t even properly manage a no-brainer takedown of the most corrupt family of political criminals in American history, and its phonus-balonus bribe factory of a “foundation.”

Mr Integrity speaks out!

After eight years of being “too classy” to speak out against the jug-eared commie asshole Obama, George Dubya Bush—the man who lost the War On Something Or Other by refusing to stand by his earlier pronouncements and fight the damned thing; the man who gave us the idiotic “Religion Of Peace” formulation, no less—now decides to open his piehole uninvited.

While neither Bush nor Obama mentioned Trump by name or referred to his claims this week that he had been more attentive to relatives of slain US service members than they were, they used coincidental events to register their alarm with Trump’s politics.

In New York, Bush delivered a strong indictment of Trump’s populist nationalism, condemning trade protectionism and bemoaning how politics had fallen prey to “conspiracy theories” and “outright fabrication.” He also warned of the impact of “bullying and prejudice” in public life. It was not hard to work out who he was talking about in one of his most vehement interventions in politics since he left office in January 2009.

And thus does the last feeble spark of respect and admiration I might have harbored for this Ruling Class rumpswab gutter and go out. What’s next, George? A PSA ad with Pelosi and Ogabe lecturing us on the need for “unity” and unquestioning support for our masters?

While such obvious criticism of an incumbent president by ex-presidents is extraordinary it is also a metric of the highly unusual times and the shock to the political system embodied by Trump’s election.

And the increasing desperation of the Ruling Class to get the damned wool back in place over our eyes, too. Alas, it’s not as if it’s the first time this “classy” guy broke his “silence” to defend Ruling Class priorities and the Swamp status quo, either:

Former President George W. Bush said Monday that the media is “indispensable to democracy,” a break from the position of his fellow Republican, President Donald Trump, who has called the press “the enemy of the American people.”

“I consider the media to be indispensable to democracy. That we need the media to hold people like me to account,” Bush told Matt Lauer, anchor of NBC’s “Today” show. “I mean, power can be very addictive and it can be corrosive, and it’s important for the media to call to account people who abuse their power, whether it be here or elsewhere.”

Jeez, nice little tongue-bath for the lying blackguards of Praetorian Media there, moron. No wonder they seem to like him so much better now than they did then. Note, too, the critical caveat this genius deftly leaves out: yes, an honest media IS in fact indispensable to democracy. We don’t have one of those, unfortunately. Which is a big part of why our “democracy” is where it is.

Fuck off and die, George. I spent a lot of effort over a lot of years defending you from the America-hating Left, not realizing that you were way more closely aligned with them than you ever will be with me. You and your kind won’t fool me again, I assure you.

It really is true, folks: Republicrat and Demican, “liberal” and “conservative”—those are artificial distinctions, designed to prevent us from recognizing the actual dividing line. It’s Ruling Class versus the rest of us, and that’s all there is to it.

Sad!

Just…sad. And THESE are the pathetic slime-molds we let take over and destroy our civilization?

At breakfast, in the glass-towered city of Vancouver, five-year-old Abigail looks glumly at her half-eaten bowl of cereal.

“What is it, honey?” I brush the bangs back from her face.

She lets out a big sigh. “I wish I wasn’t white.”

I start. Nothing in the parenting manuals has prepared me for that.

“All we’ve ever done is hurt people,” she continues. “I wish my skin was dark and that I had a culture.”

We live in a part of the city where immigrant families abound. Our neighbours are homesick, first-generation Mexicans, which means that salsas and pinatas and Aztec legends feature prominently at shared social gatherings. Our family regularly eats in Little India where we gush over the flavours of curry and dhal, and every February, we attend the Chinese New Year parade in the slanting rain. Plus, my husband and I are children of missionaries and harbour an acute guilt for the cultural imperialism of our forebears. To compensate, we’ve raised our children with a deep appreciation of non-Western cultures.

So when Abigail laments the colour of her white skin, part of me is programmed to protest. Is it not my moral obligation to tell her that her feelings of poor self-worth are nothing compared with the psychological ruin of real racism? Girl, everything about Canadian culture weighs in your advantage and you have no right to snivel!

The very fact that such dimwitted twaddle would be the first thing to spring to this useless bint’s mind—putting her insipid liberal politics above her own fucking child, to that child’s obvious detriment—tells you just how despicable she is. Her kind deserves absolutely everything they’re going to get, from Moslem rape gangs to their violent demise at the hands of whatever roving bloodthirsty mob their weak-kneed political-correctness inspires to ultimately come for them. The sight of their charred corpses piled in heaps or their heads on pikes scattered throughout the urban shitholes they infest will inspire nothing more than scornful laughter and a hearty “good riddance” from saner sorts.

Instead, I feel a sadness settle over me. We thought we were raising the enlightened child of the 21st century. We thought we were doing our part in setting the history record straight.

You weren’t setting a damned thing straight, you were leaving out the bits that offended your vapid Progressivism to assuage your own crippled conscience and bolster your overweening smugness. You weren’t teaching history, nor were you “correcting” it. You were corrupting it.

Yet, in doing so, it seems we have robbed our oldest child of something primal to psychological health, something elemental to her well-being as a human being: cultural roots.

I don’t know what to say.

After decades of hectoring, nonstop lectures aimed at your actual moral betters, that would have to be a very welcome first.

Via Vox, who says:

The word “fundamentalist” stems from those who go back to the basics of the religion, back to the fundamentals. It is time for us to become cultural fundamentalists, and our roots are Christianity, the Greco-Roman legacy, and the European nations.

The alternative is this societal suicide in the name of not being called racist. Of all the reasons for a society to die off, this simply must be the most utterly stupid ever witnessed on this planet.

Ain’t THAT the miserable truth.

Empty suit

What could possibly be a more fitting monument to such an empty vessel?

Unlike traditional presidential libraries, the Obama Presidential Center will not actually have library materials. That is—it will not house former President Obama’s manuscripts, documents, letters, and gifts from his tenure in office—items presidential centers around the country all have.

Instead, it will include space for outdoor functions and picnics, a basketball court, recording studio, sledding hill, children’s play garden, and more.

As for the actual library documents, the center will rely online archives for Obama’s presidential materials as a way to avoid meeting federal standards in construction, raising money for an endowment, and paying the National Archives and Records Administration to run the facility.

“This is going to be completely different,” said Foundation CEO David Simas, reports The Chicago Tribune. “What the president and first lady said…is they simply did not want a museum that served as a mausoleum, as a way to look back.”

Oh no, of course not. What they want is a place for his disciples and acolytes to genuflect to and dutifully worship His Most Puissant Majesty, and just generally celebrate the greatness of pResident Potato Head. Personally, I like it; clearly, it’s going to be as hollow and devoid of substance as the “man” himself always was, and as such it’s difficult to imagine anything that could be more appropriate.

Let’s ban all the things!

Just give ’em time to figure it out. They ARE pretty thick, you know.

After Vegas, the gun control memes and myths come out. It doesn’t matter how wrong they are, they will echo in the mediasphere and then the talking points will leak into everyday conversations.

“Guns are uniquely lethal.”

Last year, a Muslim terrorist with a truck killed 86 people and wounded another 458.

Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, the Tunisian Muslim killer, had brought along a gun, but it proved largely ineffective. The deadliest weapon of the delivery driver was a truck. Mohammed, who was no genius, used it to kill more people than Stephen Paddock would with all his meticulous planning in Vegas.

Do we need truck control?

Let’s not be giving the tiresome bags of fascist shit any bright ideas, Daniel. After all, they’re working as hard as they can to eliminate the combustion engine already.

Live by the liberalism…

Die by it.

Football players who call for equality are throwing rocks from a glass stadium. The NFL’s high-paying jobs are only given to men with specific physical skills, while the rest of the people are pushed aside.

It’s time for the league to start leading by example. The time is right for the NFL Equality Plan.

The first step in the plan is to guarantee everyone’s right to participate in the games.

Every player in today’s NFL is male, which is obviously unfair. The new balance will be 51% women, 47% men, and 2% transgenders. This means the 53-player roster of every team will have 27 women, 25 men, and one transgender person. Each team shall have 32 Caucasians, seven African-Americans, 10 Hispanics, three Asians, and one person of Native American heritage. At least three players will be gay.

Nor can we ignore age discrimination. Each NFL roster shall include seven players between ages 19 and 25, eight from ages 26-34, seventeen from 35-54, nine from 55-64, and ten players who are 65 or older.

The disabled will be fully represented in the new, inclusive league. Every team shall have no fewer than ten players with physical or mental impairments that significantly affect their major life activities.

The Office of Player Equality will monitor the composition of each team and assess penalties for non-compliance. Temporary, minor variations may be allowed – requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The demographic ratios will be regularly adjusted to stay current with population trends.

Next summer, the NFL will host gala events in every stadium to celebrate and welcome the newcomers, who will be called “rainbow players” to honor the complimentary aspects of humanity they represent.

To make room for the rainbow players, many current NFL players will be released from their contracts. This should not be a source of regret, since all these men have benefited unfairly from their physical privilege. The former players will be provided with job-placement services and exit counselling.

Nothing reveals the preposterous unworkability of the central tenets of liberalism better than highlighting them.

The ultimate National Conversation

Careful what you wish for, “liberals.”

I don’t agree with liberals often, because I’m not an idiot and because I love America, but when they once again say, “We must have a conversation about guns!” I still couldn’t agree more. And, since all we’ve heard is you leftists shrieking at us all week, I’ll start it off.

You don’t ever get to disarm us. Not ever.

There. It sure feels good to engage in a constructive dialogue.

Okay, I can see already that I’m getting ready to bend “fair use” over and give it the rogering of its young life. I just don’t see any way I can avoid lifting this most excellent of Schlichter rants almost entire.

Now, we should have this conversation because in recent years we’ve seen a remarkable antipathy for the fact that normal Americans even have rights among those on the left. We should have this conversation to clear the air before leftists push too far and the air gets filled with smoke. But we really don’t need to have a conversation about our rights to keep and bear arms. They’re rights. There’s nothing to talk about.

This goes for all our rights that the left hates, like the rights to speak and write freely, to practice our religion as we see fit, and to not be railroaded by liberal authority without due process. Leftists hate our rights because they hate us, and when we assert our rights it gets in the way of their malicious schemes to dominate and control us. It makes them stamp their little sandaled feet in rage when we normals just won’t cooperate and surrender our rights. But we love our rights – rights are wonderful things with which we were endowed by our Creator, and which our beloved Constitution merely reiterates. But the left, including its pet media, thinks that our rights were merely iterated, and that the left can take an eraser to the parchment and—voila!—no more pesky rights for you flyover people.

Nah. I think we’ll keep ‘em. All of them, unchanged. And there’s only one way we can lose them, unless a lot of leftists buy a lot of guns, conduct a lot of tactical training, and stop being little weenies. I’m not worried about any of those things happening, particularly the last one. So, as a practical matter, we only lose our rights if we allow ourselves to be shamed, threatened, whined, and lectured into giving them up by skeevy tragedy-buzzard pols, mainstream media meat puppets, and late night chucklemonkeys whose names and faces all blend together into one unfunny, preachy blur.

I just don’t see Jimmy Kimmel donning Kevlar to molon labe and risking his sorry carcass trying to separate normal Americans from their ability to defend themselves, their families, and their Constitution from the people who constantly tell us how much they hate us.

Well, not unless there’s about thirty of him surrounding one of us, as per the usual liberal-fascist MO. Otherwise, it’s doubtful he’d so much as lift a finger to prevent his wife and daughter getting raped and murdered in front of his very eyes. Probably by a gang of those “moderate Muslims” the Left is so enamored of, without ever being able to find a single living example of.

On the bright side, I DID manage to honor fair use by leaving out a few paragraphs there, which you’re going to want to go and read anyway. But then Kurt really cuts loose with the Clue Bat, fungo-ing huge, achy lumps onto those empty “liberal” heads:

So, let’s continue our important conversation. How about this? How about we continue to speak freely, saying whatever we want however we want, and you leftists just sit there and be offended? How about we practice our faiths however we want, even if that means some of us don’t end up validating every one of your preferred personal peccadillos (I checked under all of the penumbras and emanations in the Constitution and I can’t find anywhere that you have a right to have us high-five everything you do). And how about we insist that everyone accused of something gets due process and the chance to defend himself – or herself, or even xirself?

Yeah, we know that us having rights is inconvenient, but that’s too damn bad. Because we aren’t asking you for our rights. We’re telling you we aren’t giving them up.

See, we’re done walking on eggshells and playing your verbal minefield game. You’ll call us “murderers,” “racists,” “sexists,” “homophobes” and every other kind of “phobe” you can invent no matter what we do anyway, and it’s all a lie. It’s also all meaningless. You don’t even believe it. It’s just a rhetorical weapon, and a lame one, but you’ve fired all your ammo. The chamber is empty. Keep pulling the trigger on your slanders, but we’re now woke to the scam and you’re just shooting blanks.

Anyway, let’s continue our conversation. You’re not going to pin the rampage of some scumbag on millions and millions of people who didn’t do it. You’re not going to leverage this spree into disarming us – which is your ultimate goal. We know how you hate the idea that we are armed and independent, that we hold a lead veto over your fever dreams of tyrannical rule over us. You know how important it is to us to be free citizens; you yearn to humiliate us by stripping us of our self-respect by taking away our means of keeping ourselves free from the tyranny of people like you.

You never cared that 59 people were murdered – some of you, as we have seen, cheered – and I gotta say, it’s a bad look to screech “I’m glad you crackers are dead, now heed my command to give up your guns!” If you really cared about 59 people being murdered, you’d demand that the Chicago PD flood the ghetto and stop and frisk until every punk with a gun was disarmed because 59 people get murdered there in a slow month. Oh, but wait – their rights! Gee, I thought that RIGHTS DON’T MATTER IF TAKING RIGHTS AWAY SAVES JUST ONE LIFE… I guess it’s really about whose rights, isn’t it?

So, let’s finish our conversation about guns. Where was I? Oh yeah. No.

BANGFUCKINGZOOM. I’m gonna leave out his conclusion too, which is another thing you won’t want to miss. I’ll close my own post here with a quote from the great Charlton Heston, directed at Al Gore at the time and still readily applicable to the rest of the gun-grabbin’ Left: from my cold, dead hands, motherfuckers. You jump on up and start the ball any time you think you’re ready to dance. We’ll be waiting.

Tell us how you REALLY feel…

In the comments here, the esteemed and estimable Aesop says:

The National Felony League has no clue what a firestorm they’ve unleashed by coddling this crapola.

I’m betting that Mattis’ DoD comes down on them next, followed by the advertisers, then the owners dump Goodall, and the @$$clown player purges start with a vengeance.

If they’re smart, and do this in a hurry, they get over it in 5-10 years.

If they dig in harder, they become roller derby.

Okay, that’s good squishy right there sure enough. But then, over at his place, he REALLY uncorks:

For the benefit of the illiterate double-digit IQ players: any display whatsoever during the national anthem is still a me!me!me!-fest, for you attention-whoring douchebags, and just as obnoxious as the original displays, @$$holes.

Probably more so, since you have yet to apologize for the earlier virtue-signaling grandstanding, sh*tting on America, and wiping your @$$#$ with the flag, and have in fact doubled down, doing it now without the slightest bit of shame.

The national anthem isn’t about you pampered sports pussies, it’s about the country of US.

You want to put your hands somewhere, it’s easy (unless you were born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia): your right hand goes over your heart, and your left hand goes at your side.

Linking your arms is the same middle finger to America that all your other antics have been, and we’re not buying the bullsh*t.

Until you stop ALL DISPLAYS during the national anthem, other than one of humble respect for the flag and nation you live in, and under whose blessings you’re all favored to be paid far more than you deserve for a pretty meager set of skills in anything but a society of bountiful plenty, you’re all still just a bunch of disrespectful bums, who deserve to be kicked to the curb until you’re forced to earn a real living at a real job, or fired by the spineless jellyfish who nominally run your League Of Losers.

Ouch. That stung all the way over here. Pretty much says it all, too—especially his closing statement, perfectly expressed in graphic form.

Out of the mouths of babes brats update! Moron accidentally stumbles upon wisdom, fails to recognize its significance:

Don’t come to the game.

That’s the message a couple of the Titans’ star players have for any outraged fans threatening to turn their back on the team…

“First off, I’m going to say this: We’re not disrespecting the military, the men and women that serve in the Army. That’s not what it’s all about,” Titans tight end Delanie Walker said…

“And the fans that don’t want to come to the game? I mean, OK. Bye. I mean, if you feel that’s something, we’re disrespecting you, don’t come to the game. You don’t have to. No one’s telling you to come to the game. It’s your freedom of choice to do that.”

That right there is advice we should all be heeding…until Walker and his ilk are all stocking shelves at Wal Mart, manning drive-thru windows, filling in potholes, or cleaning hotel rooms for a living. And as Stephen adds: we’re way ahead of you, pal.

A confederation of dunces

It ain’t really about anthems or flags. It ain’t even about wealthy, pampered morons whining about how tough they supposedly have it in a country in which they ought to be on their knees thanking God to live, instead of the benighted, hellish shithole they’re pleased in their buffoonish ignorance to refer to as their “motherland.” It’s actually about destroying the very concept of “nationhood” itself.

Almost any point on that continuum covers the minimal civic act of standing for a national anthem. If you love your country, your “consciousness of duty” commands you to respect its flag and anthem: you need no statute to direct you to do so. On the other hand, if you feel, as many do, ambivalent about your flag or anthem, “good form appropriate in a given situation” suggests that, out of comity with your neighbors, rising to your feet for a minute or two is the appropriate thing to do. Many republicans and/or atheists (into both of which camps falls Jeremy Corbyn) are not entirely happy about a song enjoining the Almighty to confer long life on the monarch; the current Australian prime minister was a prominent member of the unsuccessful campaign to replace the national flag; I’ve attended events in the presence of Quebec’s Lieutenant-Governor, who enters accompanied by the Vice-Regal Salute, which is the first half of “God Save The Queen” and the last half of “O Canada”, neither of which secessionist Quebeckers care for. But whatever our views we all suffer it “through a sense of what is required by public spirit”.

That presumably is why on Sunday two dozen kneeling Americans decided to rise to their feet for Britain’s national anthem. Because they understood that were they to remain kneeling they would be regarded by their London hosts as boorish graceless ignorant clods – which, in fact, they are, with respect to their own anthem. We stand for the anthems of foreigners not out of allegiance but out of Moulton’s “good form”. Standing for other people’s anthems is the minimal respect required to transact international relations: At, say, US/Soviet summits, Reagan could have taken a knee to protest Moscow’s human rights record, and Chernenko could have taken a knee to protest that Reagan was a running dog of capitalism and imperialism. But both men remained standing – because that’s the minimal requirement for any mutually beneficial relations.

So, when a bunch of pampered poseurs decide to drive a stake through a primal civic ritual, that’s not a small thing. Lord Moulton called it “the domain of manners” because it is literally a land, the public space, a realm. And like any realm it requires a shared anthem and flag. To reduce such things to objects of partisan controversy – whether over racist policing in Democrat cities or transgender bathrooms or anything else – is to shrink the land of manners. Which ought to be disturbing – because, as Lord Moulton put it, “The real greatness of a nation, its true civilization, is measured by the extent of this land.”

By that measure, our greatness is shriveling fast. The land of “good form appropriate in a given situation” has been encroached upon remorselessly, to the point where everything can merely be legal or illegal, and therefore to render any judgment of our own upon the merits of this or that would be presumptuous. Hence all these ridiculous discussions on the “constitutional” right of bazillionaire narcissists and their unlovely employers to shatter one of the small but critical social norms hitherto observed by all: The domain of absolute freedom (they have the right to take a knee!) nibbles away at the domain of manners from one end, and the domain of law answers (the NFL should fire them!) with a response correct in legal terms but which in itself nibbles away at the domain of manners from the other end.

For anyone who wishes to live in a civilized society where the observance of social norms can be safely assumed, this wretched business is a loss – for what remains of social cohesion, for “true civilization” and for “the real greatness of a nation”. A national anthem can be a national anthem or an opportunity for self-expression, but not both. And, if this is yet one more thing that Americans can no longer agree on, if a people lack the minimal social glue to rise reflexively when the band strikes up the first bars of “O-oh, say, can you…”, you have to wonder whether anything remains to bind us together at all.

No need to wonder much about that, actually; it’s becoming clearer by the day that this is a “nation” bound only by geography, and even that rather tenuously. In no other sense—shared values, shared goals, common interests, common dreams—does the word any longer apply at all.

Update! Remember when I said the other day that if the goons of the National Felons League weren’t out on the field making millions playing a kid’s game, they’d be out in the parking lot breaking into cars? Such an inflammatory, unfair statement, you might have thought to yourself; why, in its ugly generalization it smacks of a horrid racism that…that…ummm…

Yeah.

Did you know, that as of this writing, it’s been 24 days since an NFL player was arrested? The odds that we would go that long in between player arrests are 25 to 1! In case you were wondering, there’s an entire website dedicated to tracking all the NFL players who have been arrested.

Oops. I just checked again. It’s now been zero days since an NFL player was arrested. Thanks, Los Angeles Ram Ethan Westbrooks! Westbrooks was arrested this weekend for speeding and being in possession of an unlicensed firearm. This is the second time in bracelets this year for Westbrooks, who was arrested in March on suspicion of domestic violence (the charges were later dropped).

According to NFLArrest.com, the record span between arrests is 65 days. The average span between player arrests is seven days. The site has been tracking player arrests since 2000 and has an interactive breakdown of all the data. You can track arrests by team, date, day of the week (unsurprisingly, Saturday is most popular), player position, or type of crime.

It is important to note, as NFLArrest.com states, that NFL players are arrested at a slightly lower rate than Americans in general. One would hope, however, that the arrest rate would be significantly lower than for the general public. Given the high-profile nature of the job, the greatly heightened socioeconomic class of NFL employees, and league expectations that go along with the privilege of playing a game for a living, it is only natural to think that crime rates would drop precipitously.

And yet.

All in all, I’d say America needs the NFL and its blockheaded brats almost as much as it needs more unvetted and unassimilable Muslim immigrants. Almost, but not quite.

Updated update! David Codrea dispenses with the idea that NFL thugs have some sort of unalienable “right” to insult the people who ultimately pay their grossly-inflated salaries:

Putting on a team uniform and appearing at an event paid for by others means you’re no longer representing yourself, you’re representing those employing you.

When you accept the responsibility of representing a group, your obligation is to represent the goals and the mission of that group. As I noted in “Who Speaks for Oath Keepers?” I have a right to write about any topic I please – just not wherever I want. This is the Oath Keepers site. If I write anything not in the best interests of this organization, Stewart Rhodes and the board have the right to remove it and to boot me out.

Players would not be doing this if the enablers behind them did not find national divisiveness, increased racial agitation and cultural transformation advantageous to their interests. That team owners and the NFL have not shut down players hijacking media attention to promote their own political sentiments – sentiments that are irreconcilable with and deeply offensive to the beliefs of many Americans – speaks to the gutlessness, the lack of principle and/or the insidious motives of those supposedly running the show. If owners and the league had refused to accept such disruption the first time it happened, they would have issued a clear and unequivocal rule that if athletes want to play and keep earning millions of dollars, they’re not going to use the branding they appear under for unauthorized purposes.

All of which serves to reduce this nonexistent “right” to something more akin to an indulgence—a particularly apt term when talking about the childish, self-important antics of spoiled brats.

Via WRSA, who sums it all up nicely: “Irreconcilable differences.” That’s what it all boils down to in the end.

Update to the updated update! Codrea makes a statement above about the “enablers” seeing “national divisiveness, increased racial agitation and cultural transformation” as being “advantageous to their interests.” I submit that, if that’s the case, they’ve badly misidentified their interests, which of right ought to be nothing more than getting as many people as they can to pay attention to their sportsball games. Zman plays around with that a bit:

Of course, the zeal of NFL owners to include the girls is due to the understanding that their sport is never going to be popular with girls or sissies. Like boxing, it takes guts to play football. Anyone who played the game knows the risks, as they saw teammates carted off with broken bones or on backboards. Girls don’t like seeing that and they really don’t want their children doing it. The pinking of sports like football is an effort to distract the girls from the reality of the game so they don’t shut it down.

In a feminine society like ours, it is just a matter of time before masculine things like sports are either made girlish or relegated to the fringe. Boxing, for example, still exists, but only as a fringe sport done by foreigners. UFC has managed to gain an audience, but again, it is as a renegade activity, done underground and on pay-per-view. White mothers will never be taking their sons to UFC camp. They can tolerate martial arts, just as long as it is white boys in bathrobes, safely pretending to be Jackie Chan.

This is why football is so much trouble. Peak professional football was probably a dozen years ago. It was around then that white mothers, especially divorced middle-class mothers, started turning against youth football. They did not want their little baby being run over by black kids. That’s why the concussion hysteria gained traction. It’s a ready made excuse for pulling the white kids out of football, that lets white women pretend it is not racism driving their decision. After all, they loved Will Smith in the concussion movie!

It’s why the NFL’s decision to let their blacks kneel during the anthem is going to be a disaster for them. The owners signed off on it thinking it added drama and would therefore draw in girls, because girls and girly-men like drama. Instead, those kneeling black players are a stark reminder to white women that the sport of football is for violent black men, not nice suburban white boys. Youth participation in football is collapsing and this will only serve to accelerate it. The NFL has now made football anti-white and un-American.

The root cause is not the inherent danger of playing sports like football. The root is the same as it is for everything in the current crisis. The feminization of the West is turning politics into a never ending soap opera for no purpose than the perpetuation of petty gripes among the participants. Nothing gets done, because girls don’t care about deeds. They care about attention.

Hoo boy, the gals ain’t gonna like THAT one little bit.

Some folks never learn

Socialist is as socialist does.

Sounding eerily like the Sandinistas he once supported, the mayor of America’s largest city declared his love for heavy-handed central planning in surprisingly unguarded terms.

When asked about the enormous gap between New York’s rich and poor, the mayor responded:

What’s been hardest is the way our legal system is structured to favor private property. I think people all over this city, of every background, would like to have the city government be able to determine which building goes where, how high it will be, who gets to live in it, what the rent will be. I think there’s a socialistic impulse, which I hear every day, in every kind of community, that they would like things to be planned in accordance to their needs. Unfortunately, what stands in the way of that is hundreds of years of history that have elevated property rights and wealth to the point that that’s the reality that calls the tune on a lot of development.

Yeah. And speaking of “standing in the way,” let’s all just ignore the hundreds of years of history that have proven beyond any reasonable doubt, again and again and again, that socialism does not work, has never worked, never will work, and cannot work. It’s all that stands in the way of your childish utopian fantasy being successfully realized at last—right Bill?

At this late date, there’s really only one interesting question here: who would be the bigger moron, Red Bill or the dimwits who elected his stupid commie ass?

And THESE cupcakes are the people who are going to take our country from us by force?

Okay, they’ve gone way beyond merely pathetic at this point.

A Greek Life retreat at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) was promptly cancelled this weekend after a banana peel was found hanging in a tree.

“To be clear, many members of our community were hurt, frightened, and upset by what occurred at IMPACT,” Interim Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Alexa Lee Arndt remarked in an email between Greek leaders, according to The Daily Mississippian. “Because of the underlying reality many students of color endure on a daily basis, the conversation manifested into a larger conversation about race relations today at the University of Mississippi.”

Yeah, an “underlying reality” that must surely include being taunted by every white person they ever encountered or heard tell of as watermelon-eating, fried-chicken-chasing ape-men—darkies who are most likely tormented more by the absence of a banana in that peel rather than the empty, discarded peel itself and whatever delusion it represents to them. I mean, I know that’s the sort of thing I always assume about them thar “people of color,” at least.

Idiots.

There’s only one little problem for the hypersensitive little twinkies:

Apparently, student Ryan Swanson admitted to discarding the banana peel in a tree after he was unable to locate a garbage can, and it was later spotted by Alpha Kappa Alpha President Makala McNeil, who leads one of the campuses historically black sororities.

“The overall tone was heavy. I mean, we were talking about race in Mississippi and in the Greek community so there’s a lot involved,” McNeil recalled, later adding that she and her friend were “all just sort of paranoid for a second” after spotting the banana.

After word of the banana spread throughout the retreat, leaders decided to end the event early. Arndt explained that she “felt it was imperative to provide space immediately to students affected by this incident.”

Oh, good God. Note to overly delicate, mollycoddled American Negroes like these self-absorbed children: Get over yourdamnedselves already, you fucking feeble freaks. My sarcastic and intentionally offensive riposte above aside, the truth is that white people don’t care about your neuroses; white people spend very little time even thinking about you at all, and certainly aren’t spending their every waking moment plotting ways to insult you, assault you, and freak you out over meaningless trivia. Trust me, white people are perfectly content to leave you the hell alone and let you get on with your day, as they want to be left alone to get on with theirs.

A little harsh reality: yes, there are indeed an insignificant handful of white people who DO fret themselves over their own neuroses about black people; there are also those who don’t like Asians, Jews, Hispanics, New Yorkers, Canadians, or (probably) Eskimos. These people are never going to be your brothers, no matter what you do or how hard you try.

However, I assure you most sincerely: absolutely none of the rest of us—the HUGE majority—give a shit about them, and don’t waste any time bothering ourselves about anything they might do or say. They have absolutely NO institutional power in this country; they haven’t for decades, and our national past notwithstanding (which is not significantly different in this regard than that of almost any other country or society you could name) they never will again. Their opinions matter to no one but themselves. There will always be a handful of them around, sure, and there’s not one damned thing you, I, or anybody else can do about that. I recommend you ignore them, just like the overwhelming majority of the rest of us do. They will then fade into just so much background noise. I promise you, you’ll be a whole lot happier for it, and you won’t end up making yourselves look nearly so foolish, hysterical, and weak in the future as you assuredly do right now.

And a necessary word about that darker past: the people who lived in those times (and, yes, systematically oppressed and mistreated people “of color,” along with plenty of lighter-complected sorts as well) were acting in accordance with the universally-accepted standards of the era. They also believed that leeches were a good treatment for all sorts of diseases; did not understand anything at all about bacterial and viral infection; did not have air conditioning, electricity, indoor plumbing, deodorant, or toothpaste. They had to make their own soap. If they wanted chicken for dinner, they had to chase it down and wring its neck themselves, then pluck it, dress it, and cook it, sometimes over an open fire (my own grandmother did this). They did not have access to cars, supermarkets, Wal Mart, motorized lawnmowers, the internet, or cell phones. In fact, many of them didn’t have phones at all. A now-shockingly large percentage of the women died in childbirth; many of their children didn’t survive past the age of five. Diseases that we now consider little more than a minor nuisance were life-threatening then; a toothache or common stomach bug could be a death sentence, and quite often was. The average life expectancy for them was about half what it is now.

They weren’t evil, or most of them weren’t. They were just ignorant. Just as future generations will likely feel we are now, about all kinds of things we can’t even begin to imagine.

The drudgery, difficulty, and danger they faced every minute of their daily existence was incomprehensible to us now; their acceptance of those difficulties and their determination to just get on with it ought to be instructive and inspirational to every one of us. Judging those people by our own standards, therefore, is foolish, unfair, and unhelpful. It is a mistake, and a peculiarly petty one—not least because it leads us to disdain our forebears, who can’t be fairly said to have been wrong about everything, and whose every idea should not be dismissed because of a few outdated or unenlightened ones they hadn’t quite gotten figured out yet.

The thing too many of our present-day whiny losers seem to prefer to forget, deny, or not even to know: IT’S NOT LIKE THAT ANYMORE. It truly isn’t. Things are different now. Very much so. The people whose distant and long-dead ancestors were slaves here whining as if they themselves were currently enslaved ought to:

  1. Reflect for a single fucking moment that there are plenty of countries—most of them in or near Africa, most of them run by Muslims—where chattel slavery is still accepted practice
  2. Grow a pair and give thanks they don’t live in any of those places
  3. Shut the fucking fuck up already

Alternatively, you could all go right on making yourselves look like pussified jackasses, weeping bitter, salty tears and having a psychotic break over a fucking discarded banana peel. Believe me, if some one of the handful of real white racists out there wanted to insult you, they aren’t going to be oblique or subtle about it, and there won’t be much room for any mistaken interpretations of the event. You’re going to know it, and won’t have to make any labored assumptions about what they’re doing or why they’re doing it.

Until then, let’s just all take a breath and calm down, ‘kay? We’ll deal with that if and when we come to it, and in the meantime your silly-assed assumptions about how all white people must surely feel about you have a certain whiff of, umm, racism to them, to be blunt. These little tantrums aren’t helping anybody…least of all yourselves. To tell the truth, we’re all more embarrassed for you than anything else at this point.

American greatness

Daniel finds it. And laments its passing, too.

Generations have grown up with leftist protesters as their definition of heroes. Look in a history book and the last 70 years consisted of “heroes” who marched around waving signs until they got everything they wanted. And everyday in the news there are more “heroes” marching for illegal aliens, transgender bathrooms, the supremacy of black lives and any other identity politics cause.

But waving a placard to the adulation of the media isn’t heroism. Saving lives is.

Our culture has quickly forgotten that less than two decades ago, men carrying half their weight climbed to the top of the World Trade Center to save lives. They died there.

The America of a hundred or even fifty years ago, would have immortalized them. Ours drowned them out in tantrums, in whines, in anger and outrage, in malicious noise.

They were a dangerous reminder that we were a great people. And our destroyers desperately wanted us to forget. They wanted us to sink to the bottom. Not to rise to the moment.

The secret of so much of our greatness was simply that we tried. We took our best and we made it the cultural norm. Every people tell themselves that they are wonderful and destined to rule the world. The Germans and the Russians believed it and it led them to ruin. But we told each other that we were decent and we became decent. We told our children that the moon could be theirs. And it was.

We told them that we could cure diseases. And we did. That we would prevail over the atom bomb. And we did. That we would change the world. And we did.

But more importantly, we told them about sportsmanship. We told them to stand up for principles. To take pride in hard work. To believe in the future. To tell the truth. To help old ladies across the street. To tie knots well. To sacrifice for family. To see themselves as heroes, however unlikely.

We made all of those things into a culture. That was the secret. Anyone could have done it. You just had to believe.

And that culture has been slowly dying. Some days it looks almost dead.

Yeah, well, it didn’t just die.—it was killed. It wasn’t an accident, it wasn’t happenstance, and it wasn’t a coincidence. It was done to us by insidiously devoted Leftists who were acting in accord with a long-term plan cooked up in Moscow—provably so, now. I refer you once again to Eric Raymond’s great treatise on this inescapable truth:

Indeed, the index of Soviet success is that most of us no longer think of these memes as Communist propaganda. It takes a significant amount of digging and rethinking and remembering, even for a lifelong anti-Communist like myself, to realize that there was a time (within the lifetime of my parents) when all of these ideas would have seemed alien, absurd, and repulsive to most people — at best, the beliefs of a nutty left-wing fringe, and at worst instruments of deliberate subversion intended to destroy the American way of life.

Koch shows us that the worst-case scenario was, as it turns out now, the correct one; these ideas, like the “race bomb” rumor, really were instruments deliberately designed to destroy the American way of life. Another index of their success is that most members of the bicoastal elite can no longer speak of “the American way of life” without deprecation, irony, or an automatic and half-conscious genuflection towards the altar of political correctness. In this and other ways, the corrosive effects of Stalin’s meme war have come to utterly pervade our culture.

The most paranoid and xenophobic conservatives of the Cold War were, painful though this is to admit, the closest to the truth in estimating the magnitude and subtlety of Soviet subversion. Liberal anticommunists (like myself in the 1970s) thought we were being judicious and fair-minded when we dismissed half of the Right’s complaint as crude blather. We were wrong; the Rosenbergs and Alger Hiss really were guilty, the Hollywood Ten really were Stalinist tools, and all of Joseph McCarthy’s rants about “Communists in the State Department” were essentially true. The Venona transcripts and other new material leave no room for reasonable doubt on this score.

While the espionage apparatus of the Soviet Union didn’t outlast it, their memetic weapons did.

Yep. And they’re still being used against us, in pretty much unaltered form, by the same sort of useful idiots—clueless, dimwitted ingrates who dance and flop to wires that are no longer held by the long-gone puppet masters, but which still control their every spastic jerk. Who the hell else could possibly be against the very idea of “Make America Great Again,” anyway? Who could be so virulently filled with hate for this nation as to publicly declare their opposition to such an innocuous notion? Or to the notion that America was ever great to begin with?

The useless Left, that’s who. And now these seditious dolts have graduated from merely screaming at us in frothing rage to committing heinous acts of violence against us in the streets in broad daylight—with a near-total impunity guaranteed them by Democrat Socialist mayors and governors, and even more clueless and insidious Republican officeholders who rush to attack Trump for simply telling the truth by calling out the real instigators of the violence.

The thing the Leftards don’t quite get yet is just how fed up so many of us are with them. That message will no doubt penetrate even their thick skulls in due time. But we’ll never restore the values, the culture, that Daniel speaks of above without violent—even deadly—opposition from them. That much is evident, and undeniable.

So be it, then. Let them reap the whirlwind.

NUTS!

A haircut. They’re now committing attempted murder in broad daylight, in public, over a fucking haircut.

This Colorado man is avowedly not a neo-Nazi.

But he believes his long-on-top, buzzed-on-the-sides haircut got him mistaken for one — and nearly stabbed to death by a confused anti-fascist.

Joshua Witt, 26, escaped his brush with hairdo-doom with a defensive slice to the hand and three stitches.

“Apparently, my haircut is considered a neo-Nazi statement,” he told The Post Saturday, as his account on Facebook garnered 20,000 shares.

Witt says he’d just pulled in to the parking lot of the Steak ’n Shake in Sheridan, Colo., and was opening his car door.

“All I hear is, ‘Are you one of them neo-Nazis?’ as this dude is swinging a knife up over my car door at me,” he said.

“I threw my hands up and once the knife kind of hit, I dived back into my car and shut the door and watched him run off west, behind my car.

“The dude was actually aiming for my head,” he added.

This is how truly insane these people are. Still think you can “reason” with them, “dialogue” with them, debate in good faith with them, make them see the light at last?

If so, you’re every bit as willfully obtuse as they are. And are a complete chump to boot. Heartfelt and appalled denunciation of the murderous lunacy they’ve inspired and promoted from the Democrat Socialist Party and its “mainstream”-media propaganda wing in 3…2…1…never. Stephanie Pagones says:

Even if he were one of the very, very few Nazis in this country: so what?

That doesn’t justify a violent attack, but it’s even worse in this case, because Witt was nothing other than hungry. He had the wrong freaking haircut in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Guess what, media and politicians? This is what happens when you refuse to call out your own side for violence, or pretend it isn’t happening. Trump was 100% correct to call out these monsters along with the white supremacists.

It’s also what happens when our side refuses to fight back and crush them completely—and when our weak-tea so-called “leaders” like Ted Cruz (GOPe-Asshole) try to score cheap political points by attacking a President they loathe for daring to notice that the Goosesteppin’ Left is as much if not more to blame for the mindless violence they instigate than some pitiful handful of Nazis. Y’know, as long as we’re calling people out here and all.

Dragon swallows sun, spits it back out again, Trump to blame!

Oh, and while we’re at it, the stupid eclipse was RACIST™, by the way.

No, really.

The Atlantic’s very lengthy essay on the failure of the eclipse to occur where a sufficient number of black people reside is entitled “American Blackout.” It clocks in at a remarkable 4,544 words and does not appear to be satire.

Concerning “the Great American Eclipse,” Brooklyn Law School professor Alice Ristroph writes in the rapidly deteriorating magazine, “there live almost no black people” “along most of its path.”

The Atlantic’s longwinded law professor assures readers that “implicit bias of the solar system” is “presumably” not the cause of eclipse’s failure to affect enough black people.

“Still, an eclipse chaser is always tempted to believe that the skies are relaying a message.”

How awful it must be to cling so furiously to a belief system that makes you this miserable. And, y’know, stupid. Right out in public, no less.

“Implicit bias of the solar system.” “Presumably.” I mean, good LORD, man. You can’t help but feel a little bit sorry for the poor buffoon.

The Democrats haven’t been this pissed off since Republicans made them give up their slaves

Let’s ban all the things! And I do mean ALL if them. Starting here:

As an African-American, Sharpton believes that using federal tax dollars to subsidize the Jefferson Memorial is wrong. And even though the flames of Cultural Revolution are burning hot, you can understand this.

History is important, but history can also be quite offensive.

But there’s one thing wrong with Sharpton. It’s not that he goes too far. It’s that he doesn’t go far enough.

Because if he and others of the Cultural Revolution were being intellectually honest, they’d demand that along with racist statues, something else would be toppled.

And this, too, represents much of America’s racist history:

The Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party historically is the party of slavery. The Democratic Party is the party of Jim Crow laws. The Democratic Party fought civil rights for a century.

And so by rights — or at least by the standards established by the Cultural Revolutionaries of today’s American left — we should ban the Democratic Party.

Not only get rid of it in the present, but strike its very name from the history books, and topple all Democratic statues of leaders who benefited, prospered and became wealthy by cleaving to the party. And shame Democrats until they confess the truth of it.

the new Cultural Revolution was serious, wouldn’t it also demand that the Democratic Party be put in a museum somewhere, away from decent people, along with those Confederate statues?

We could put Democrats in exhibits, behind glass, watching white political bosses chomp cigars and pass out goodies for votes, as minorities were relegated, as they are today, to failing schools and lost educational opportunity and neighborhoods that have become killing fields for the young and old.

And in great museums, the Democrats could be studied, safely, without endangering the sensibilities of the children.

Of course, the Democrat-Socialists, being fucking lunatics to a man/woman/amorphous non-gendered blob/thing, are well on their way to rendering themselves electorally extinct anyway. But why shouldn’t decent Americans express their disgust with the Party of Slavery by making it legal and official through a legislative ban?

A little history

Real, true history, as opposed to the neo-Marxist alternative.

Robert E. Lee, before the outbreak of the war, was overwhelmingly regarded as the finest military mind in the U.S. army. Winfield Scott offered him command of all Union forces at the outbreak of hostilities. But he chose allegiance to his state of Virginia, rather than the Federal government. He didn’t fight for slavery. He freed his slaves. He was fighting for states’ rights. He was an honorable God fearing noble man. Stonewall Jackson was an extremely religious man who waged war with a passion, but also taught Sunday School to slaves. Lee and Jackson must be viewed in the context of the 19th century rather than being judged by the standards of the 21st century.

The vast majority of Confederate soldiers who did the fighting and dying during that war didn’t own slaves. They weren’t fighting to maintain slavery. They were fighting because a foreign army had invaded their land. In 1860 this nation was more an amalgamation of states than a centralized government. States still had a tremendous amount of power and leeway to run their states the way they chose. The ever increasing power of a central authority occurred during and after the Civil War. The South were not the bad guys. Their leaders, generals and soldiers were not evil. They were Americans.

Which is something you can’t really say about the fascist “antifa” vermin.

These courageous left wing politicians, like the mayor of New Orleans, have statues removed in the middle of the night to avoid protests by those who understand you cannot erase history by removing statues and names. In a hysterical development, Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh on Monday said in a statement she intended to move forward in removing several city statutes, including those of Lee and Stonewall Jackson. I suppose the soaring murder rate, blacks rioting and burning down neighborhoods, crumbling infrastructure, failing schools, and white flight is due to a few Confederate statues. It’s good to see this diverse mayor has her priorities in order.

The ignorance and disregard for history knows no bounds for generations taught to feel rather think in our government run indoctrination centers known as public schools. The left wing media reinforces their ignorance with misinformation, fake news and government sanctioned propaganda. Snowflakes across the land melt at anything they are instructed to find offensive. Everything and everyone who doesn’t agree with their half baked views are declared racists.

Pointing out that leftist antifa thugs, without permits to protest, initiated the violence in Charlottesville is racist. The uproar against Trump’s truthful assessment of the situation by CNN, MSNBC and Fox proves there isn’t a wit of difference among these corporate media outlets. True colors are revealed. The ongoing coup attempt against Trump continues unabated.

And in the end, that’s what all this really comes down to. The Charlottesville dustup, an event manufactured by the treasonous Left to use as a club to bash Trump and his supporters with, now stands revealed as just part and parcel of their ongoing coup attempt.

You MUST read all of this one, folks; Quinn is absolutely dead on, and pulls no punches whatsoever. This part is especially on point:

The funniest part about watching these social justice warriors wail and gnash their teeth about the racism of these monuments is knowing these unemployed functional illiterates couldn’t tell you when the Civil War occurred, name two major battles, name five generals, provide a death count within 250,000, or fill in the blank in the phrase Surrender at __________. They don’t know jack shit about history, the Civil War, Lincoln’s true feelings about blacks, or the fact the Democratic Party is the party which suppressed blacks for one hundred years following the Civil War. Only truly ignorant snowflakes think they can erase history by protesting it and trying to destroy monuments to those who fought and died for a cause they believed in.

If these social justice warrior weaklings were transported back in time 154 years to the Gettysburg battlefield where real men displayed real courage and bravery, they would be covered in their own urine cowering behind a tree as Pickett’s charge commenced. Could you imagine any of the Soros paid professional antifa protestors charging across an open field towards certain death? Those pussies would be high tailing it south as fast as their fashion designer sneakers would take them.

If they keep on like they are, we’ll all get to witness that immensely edifying spectacle soon enough…through the scopes of our Evil Black Assault Weapon Rifle Guns, most likely.

Like I said: read it all.

Update! Again: nailed it.

We end the work week with the Media now openly inciting violent insurrection and terrorism against a duly elected President and the citizenry in the wake of what is appearing to be more and more a staged event in Charlottesville; one made all the more tragic in that it cost someone their life. But to the terrorists it’s a matter of eggs and omelets. That said, it’s indeed a sad day when an horrific terror attack in Europe is now categorized in the Day-Ending-In-“Y” Dept. but on our shores a real Confederacy composed of real racialists and real Nazis is in the opening stages of attempting a real coup. And I’m not merely referring to the George Soros rent-a-thugs paid to shatter glass and crack skulls. That is just the fig leaf smokescreen of an excuse for the criminal element that sits in the Senate and House to make a mockery of our laws and traditions and remove a President that threatens their power structure and whom they have a personal hatred for; and by extension all of us who support him and elected him to clean it up and attempt to halt the 100-year slow poisoning of America as founded.

Some of the commenters here say we should chill; that the insane pronouncements from the media are in direct proportion to the loss of power and influence they traditionally have wielded. Maybe so. But when fringe totalitarian groups have the cover of law enforcement to shield them as well as politicians now on both sides legitimizing them as “the good guys” we are heading for an inflection point. Something’s got to give.

Oh, it will. And it damned sure shouldn’t be us. We’ve already given plenty—entirely too much, in fact. I repeat yet again: careful what you wish for, Progressivist fascists.

Let’s take down all the things!

The source of the problem: this right here.

I visited Mount Rushmore in the summer of 2015, and it’s nothing like Abe Lincoln squatting on his (recently vandalized) throne or George Washington’s phallus towering over everything in DC. Instead, Rushmore is a testament to the human ability to conquer nature in our own image. Standing in front of it conjured feelings of both wonder and disgust in me. Obviously, Washington and Thomas Jefferson were remarkable individuals who helped usurp British rule in America and, eventually, establish a new empire. But they also enslaved their fellow man, committing special kinds of inhumane acts that should never be confined to footnotes. Unfortunately, that is exactly how those troublesome truths are treated when you face the awesome grandeur of Rushmore, a monument so incredible it obscures the multifaceted nature of these old dudes, transmogrifying them from individuals with a capacity both for greatness and evil into pure American deities.

Another news flash for this whining dolt: the world is an imperfect place, filled with imperfect people. So by all means, let’s dwell on the bad over the good, and make sure everyone is as miserable as pig-ignorant twats like this bitter little boy. We should also make sure that we judge another era by the standards of our own. That’s definitely a formula for real progress and happiness.

In case you’re wondering, I don’t think Barack Obama should be lionized with some sort of larger-than-life monument, either. While he is a man who embodies so many of the dreams I had for this nation as a child, he has also committed acts I absolutely abhor. His embrace of aerial drone strikes, especially in nations like Somalia, was extremely disheartening for both their attendant civilian casualties and the shaky legal framework in which they were committed. His expansion of surveillance programs that sprawled under George W. Bush could theoretically now be used by the Trump administration to stymie movements like Black Lives Matter, which is comprised of people actually doing work to make this nation more equitable.

Yeah, right—by looting, burning, pillaging, and assaulting innocent bystanders and passersby. And every bit of it based on the goddamnable lie of Ferguson and the fairy tale of the “Gentle Giant”—you remember, the vicious thug who tried to murder a cop after robbing a bodega and thankfully got his worthless ass shot instead.

It’s hard to be critical of a system when that system becomes an article of faith, filled with myths (the cherry tree), deities (Founding Fathers), and notions of salvation (the City on a Hill).

It’s a damned sight harder when one side—the neo-Marxist side, completely and irretrievably immersed in its arrogance-in-ignorance—dispenses entirely with the quaint old notion of freedom of speech for all and decides to arrogate to itself alone the right to express its beliefs openly, and to enforce despotism and intolerance under threat of mindless violence.

Trump and his white supremacist cohorts believe the reverence some Americans have for these statues is simply respect for history, and that tearing them down is tantamount to ripping pages out of a textbook.

And he’s right. That’s exactly what it is, fuckface, and there’s a reason why it’s the first thing simple-minded commie twats like you do…right before they seize the guns. Which, y’know, try it, shithead. Just come and fucking take them. Any time you feel up to it.

But monuments built by the state are not history—they manifestations of power. They don’t tell you who, what, why, or how something happened. Instead, they just inform you who’s in control. This is even true with the Confederate statues, even though the South lost the war.

Um…uhhh…oh, to hell with it. It makes as much as anything else dropping from this ignoramus’s piehole, really.

With the president of the United States basically justifying neo-Nazism, it seems unthinkable that we will ever see a day when there is a serious push to blow up Rushmore and other monuments like it. But if that moment ever arrives, I suspect I’d be onboard.

Uh huh. And when you do, we’ll be ready for you…locked, loaded, and drawing a painstaking bead. Careful what you wish for there, punk.

But hey, maybe there’s something to all this hateful drivel after all. Maybe he does in fact have a point about our monuments, our treasured history. So yeah, let’s do it; let’s tear down every last statue and monument in the country. But I mean all of them. Let’s do away with the Martin Luther King memorials, too, in Atlanta, DC, and elsewhere. Let’s rename every last Martin Luther King Blvd in dangerous ghettos across the nation and change them all back to whatever they were.

While we’re at it, let’s also ban all those Che T-shirts you see idiots like this guy sporting, and make possessing one a crime punishable by some serious jail time. Likewise, anything and everything commemorating Rosa Parks, Lenin, Stalin, FDR, and anybody else we can think of. Let’s declare expressing any political opinion at all a “hate crime,” one carrying some stiff punishment with it. If we’re gonna do this, we ain’t gonna do it halfway.

But actually, no, I have a better proposal, and unlike the previous bit, I am absolutely serious about this one. I mean, blacks are fourteen percent of the population, and that includes the decent folks along with wastes of flesh like this guy. Why on earth would the huge majority in this country agree to deny itself the monuments that remind us all of who we were, of our shared history, warts and all, and let a bunch of self-righteous dullards render our public spaces into the kind of grey, dismal, uninspiring and oppressive prisons found all over the old Soviet Union? Why on earth would we ever agree to roll over and let worthless douchebags like this have their way with us?

So I suggest we instead offer whining, half-bright little oxygen thieves like this guy a choice: if you’re black, and you still insist on clinging to a destructive and delusional fantasy of victimhood, re-fighting the long-ended war that freed your forebears from slavery—a condition neither you nor anybody you know nor anybody you ever met nor any relative in living memory ever experienced for even one second, but which still exists today in many parts of the world, including your precious “Motherland,” you stupid fuck—you get a one-way ticket to the African shitpit of your choice, courtesy of the US taxpayer. If you decline that dubious privilege, you agree to shut your fucking mouth about all the supposed “sins”—real, imagined, or made up—of this country.

No need to thank us, halfwit. Just take your winning ticket and get the fuck out. Don’t let the door hit you in the etc, you ungrateful little bitch. Get thee gone, and blight our nation no more. And may you have joy of your choice.

We could do the same with Lefty excrescences generally, come to think of it. Give ’em all the opportunity to emigrate to the socialist hellhole of their choice: Venezuela, Cuba, China, wherever. The one non-negotiable condition: you don’t get to come back here. Ever. Not for any reason. No do-overs, no second chances. You hate capitalism and want to live in a “worker’s paradise,” do you? Fine; take on off, there are plenty to choose from. Go, and leave real Americans alone.

Yes, the taxpayers will pay for it, and cheerfully, I suspect. We’ll even make it a ticket for a first-class fare; being rid of these sniveling parasites for good would be a bargain at any price.

Anybody still think it’s possible to reason with people like this? That it’s even desirable? Or that we have any real obligation to try?

if so, may I ask why, exactly?

Playing into their hands?

Leave it to Daniel to get to the heart of it.

Street violence raises the bar so that only the violent will participate in protests. If you “no platform” campus speakers, then the only speakers you get will be those willing to face bomb threats, arson, and physical assaults. If you fire people for their views, political activism becomes the province of anonymous trolls and unemployed street thugs. Extremism limits political discourse to extremists.

If Democrats really want to stop the rise of Neo-Nazi violence, there’s a very easy way. Stop normalizing black nationalism and the Alt-Left. End the racist witch hunts for white privilege. Make it clear that street violence is unacceptable and that racism is bad no matter who it comes from. Allow people you disagree with to express their views without trying to destroy their lives.

But that’s the opposite of what the Dems will do. They don’t want fewer Neo-Nazis; they want more of them. They don’t want fewer attacks like Charlottesville and Charleston. They want more of them.

Charlottesville is what happens when civil society fails. And those who set the terms of permissive discourse, who control the media, academia and social norms, are responsible for the failure.

Conservatives don’t have that kind of power. It’s the left that does.

When the left insists that everyone with white skin is part of white supremacy, that Shakespeare, Beethoven and all of Western civilization embody white supremacy, it’s echoing the actual talking points of white supremacy.

If you tell all Obama critics and Trump supporters that they’re racists often enough, some will decide that maybe they are racists.

If you tell a student who objects to racially segregated areas on campus that she is a white supremacist, she will be more likely to become one.

Uncomfortable compromises are how we learn to live with each other. It means that there can be memorials of Robert E. Lee and streets named after Malcolm X. Tolerating people whose views we don’t like is one of the best ways to marginalize domestic extremists. When one set of extremists is empowered to wipe out the other, we end up with a civil war. Just ask Edmund Ruffin and John Brown.

Democrats claim a mandate from the “Right Side of History” to eliminate all the compromises. Catholic nuns must pay for abortions and birth control, Christian bakers and florists must participate in gay weddings, every white person must confess their racism, and every left-wing extremist must get their way.

That’s how you tear a society apart.

Daniel ends with a plea to the Democrat-Socialists to decide if this is what they really want. Unfortunately for all of us who only wish to be left alone and don’t want to have to make the same hard choices about going to war for their freedom that our Founders did, I think the answer to that question is already clear enough. The real question is whether they can somehow be forced to reconsider before it’s too late—for all of us.

Vox reminds us that Naziism is, was, and ever shall be a branch of the rotten Progressivist tree.

  • It is not Germany that will turn Bolshevist but Bolshevism that will become a sort of National Socialism. Besides, there is more that binds us to Bolshevism than separates us from it…I have always made allowance for this circumstance, and given orders that former Communists are to be admitted to the party at once. The petit bourgeois Social-Democrat and the trade union boss will never make a National Socialist, but the Communist always will.
  • We National Socialists wish precisely to attract all socialists, even the Communists; we wish to win them over from their international camp to the national one.
  • I have learned a great deal from Marxism as I do not hesitate to admit…The difference between them and myself is that I have really put into practice what these peddlers and pen pushers have timidly begun. The whole of National Socialism is based on it…National Socialism is what Marxism might have been if it could have broken its absurd and artificial ties with a democratic order.
  • After all, that’s exactly why we call ourselves National Socialists! We want to start by implementing socialism in our nation among our Volk! It is not until the individual nations are socialist that they can address themselves to international socialism.
  • The Revolution we have made is not a national revolution, but a National-Socialist Revolution. We would even underline this last word, “Socialist.”
  • There is a difference between the theoretical knowledge of socialism and the practical life of socialism. People are not born socialists, but must first be taught how to become them.
  • I, on the other hand, have tried for two decades to build a new socialist order in Germany, with a minimum of interference and without harming our productive capacity.

Now guess who said all that. Go on, guess.

To my way of thinking, all the above renders the clash in Charlottesville sort of a blue-on-blue (or red on Red), friendly-fire incident, although we all know it will never be reported that way. I’d still really like to know just how many Nazis there were amongst the demonstrators percentage-wise, too…and remain certain that even if some sort of reliable estimate were available, it would be very carefully buried by Leftymedia if they weren’t in a clear and overwhelming majority, as I still suspect they weren’t.

Either way, it doesn’t much affect my satisfaction at seeing somebody fighting back against the Leftard goons at last; in fact, it may even heighten it, knowing that few if any real Americans were out there getting thumped by anybody, in what might actually just have been a chaotic brawl between Leftist factions too muttonheaded to clearly understand what was even going on, or what they actually stand for in the first place. Long as some Lefty heads are finally getting cracked for trying en masse to jump peaceful protesters exercising their right to free speech, hey, I’m good with it. Bottom line?

Being socialists, national socialists of any stripe can never legitimately claim to be Alt Right.

More, from an earlier post:

The most common error is to postulate a Communist left-wing extreme opposed by an extreme Nazi right wing. Not only does this leave out a substantial body of political and philosophical thought, but the construction falls apart the moment the two socialist ideologies are compared. Any reasonable comparison inevitably forces the confused advocates of such a definition to assert that the spectrum is actually a circle, in which case the terms left and right, much less left-wing and right-wing, are wholly nonsensical.

Nor is the original usage of much utility today, since it represented the fundamental division of the pre-revolutionary French national assembly. Since very few nations feature a monarchy these days, and even fewer political parties espouse positions with regards to the Bourbon kings, this definition is now defunct. And the notion of basing the spectrum on progress, of course, begs the Marxian question. In other words, progress toward what? The worker’s paradise?

As Vox goes on to point out, the real division is all about the preferred relationship of the individual to the government: Statists versus Individualists, Plato versus Aristotle, those who believe in the primacy of the collective versus those who believe in the primacy of the individual and his right to self-determination. It’s a fundamental conflict between those who still believe in the founding ideals of this nation, and those who stand in opposition to them. It’s unresolvable by any means I can see; there is liberty or there is not, with no compromise either possible or desirable. That’s as basic as it’s possible to be. One side will win. One side will lose. That’s it. Full stop, end of story.

No matter how hard the Left tries, they can never honestly remove the stain of Naziism from their escutcheon, although it must be admitted they’ve made a damned good job over the years of lying it away. But the hard truth is, Naziism is and always was a wholly owned subsidiary of Progressivism—lock, stock, and barrel. Vox’s closing image spells it out pretty clearly, if you ask me. It leaves me feeling pretty smug and pleased with myself for having come up with my Alt-American post category a while back, I must say.
