Civility now

After starting off as something of a NeverTrumper early in the MAGA festivities, Mike Walsh gets it—completely, unflinchingly, and without apology.

We’ve tried civility, and we know from bitter experience it doesn’t work. There is no pacifying the Left, no accommodating it, no buying it off with a bit of appeasement here and there. They’re not in the political fray to play, they’re in it to win it. They’re not fiddling around the edges of the American experiment, they’re throwing everything critical theory has at us, questioning every institution and founding principle, and finding all of them worthy of destruction. If we react with anything less than a full-throated defense of both Western and American civilization, we’re going to lose.

Anyway, you fight the battle with the weapons you have, including those of the other side. And it wasn’t us who broke the peace that roughly obtained from World War II to the assassination (by a Communist) of John F. Kennedy. In the latest phase of a long war, the Unholy Left went to battle against America in the summer of 1968 and hasn’t stopped fighting since. They hated Nixon, they hated Reagan, they hated G. W. Bush and now, boy do they hate Donald J. Trump. From the moment it dawned on them on election night that Trump was going to win, they have gone to the mattresses, seeking to undermine the validity of the election and bring down the president of the United States. If you won’t fight to protect your country, what will you fight to do? If the answer is “nothing,” then to heck with you.

This passivity in the face of constant provocation is what our enemies are counting on. They want you cowed, thinking that any pushback is illegitimate. They want you to think that you’re the bad guy in this morality play. That’s why their pet media frames every confrontation as “far-right” groups vs. “anti-fascist” protesters, pushed beyond the limits of their well-known tolerance to take matters into their own violent hands. You are hateful, intolerant, racist and brimming with more phobias than Freud ever dreamed possible. You deserve every bad thing that’s coming to you.

The time for pushback is now.

It most certainly is—before they get the gulags cranking again. And the ovens.

Springtime for Hitler!

We’re all socialists Nazis now.

The American left has put itself in a moral quandary: Either it doesn’t mean it when it calls the president and his supporters Nazis, in which the case it is merely guilty of cheapening — and, as I explained in my previous column, actually denying — the Holocaust, or it doesn’t mean it, in which case morality demands it take violent action against Trump supporters.

For at least a decade, I have been saying that America is fighting a second Civil War. But I have always added that unlike the first Civil War, this one — thank God — is nonviolent.

It’s getting harder and harder to assume it will stay that way.

As one liberal writer, Peter Beinart of the Atlantic, asked nearly a year ago, “If you believe the president of the United States is leading a racist, fascist movement that threatens the rights, if not the lives, of vulnerable minorities, how far are you willing to go to stop it?”

Leftists—the real, literal fascists in this conflict—would do better to ask themselves how fed up normal Americans are with being abused by them, and how much more of it they’re willing to stand still for before striking back. John Nolte, for one, has just about reached his limit:

NBC News is not being coy about calling us Nazis. NBC News is not nibbling around the edges of calling us Nazis. NBC News is straight-up calling us Nazis. Why? Because we have no problem with Trump continuing Obama’s policy of separating illegal alien adults from children.

“If you vote for Trump then you, the voter, you, not Donald Trump, are standing at the border, like Nazis,” a NBC star said on the most establishment media show on television — MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

CNN also calls us literal “Nazis,” smears us a “white supremacists,” and then invents us using  the word “nigger.”

Without any professional consequences, a Washington Post reporter appeared on NBC to publicly call for organized mobs to give White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders a “life sentence” of public harassment because she has “no right to live” a peaceful life.

With zero professional consequences, Hollywood is calling us “cunts.”

Ivanka Trump is a “cunt.” Jeff Sessions is a “cunt.” President Trump is a “cunt.” Sarah Sanders and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen are “worse than cunts.” Ted Cruz supporters are “Republi-cunts.” Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is a “cunt” with a “fucking retard making cunt.”

After being exhausted by this particular line of hate, the establishment media blamed Trump and his supporters for Thursday’s mass-murder of five journalists in Maryland.

And then, after calling Trump a “cunt,” his daughter a “cunt,” his supporters “Nazis,” and screaming “fuck you” at him, the media, Democrats, and Hollywood commit their most obscene act with the demand Trump shut up, roll over, and take it. They accuse him of being a “dictator” when he defends himself, and then they sodomize the Constitution by claiming it reads “The Press Shall Not Be Criticized By Those The Press Have  Smeared as Nazis Who Run Concentration Camps.”

The left started it. They are the ones calling us “Nazis” and “cunts,” they are the bullies bullying women out of restaurants and movie theaters, they are the liars screaming about concentration camps.

So fuck civility, fuck the media, fuck Hollywood, fuck the organized left, and thank God we finally have a president with the moral courage to treat all of them with the contempt they deserve.0

And because it’s the Fourth of July, let’s not forget… Fuck Never Trump.

With shitlib swine having long since crossed the line from insults to physical violence, I’d say the time for concern about “civility” is well and truly past.

Polemic made easy

It’s getting mighty hard to parody them, but Surber just made a damned fine job of it.

Writing newspaper editorials is an exercise in exasperating futility. They have scant impact. 243 newspapers endorsed Hillary. 20 endorsed Donald John Trump. Who won?

To those still laboring at a craft that last had impact in the 19th century, I draw upon my 27 years of experience to offer this generic editorial on whomever President Trump nominates for the Supreme Court.

You may cut and paste it, and your boss will not notice the difference.

The Senate Must Reject This Monster

President Trump — a vain, deranged, and impulsive man elected by Russia and not a majority of Americans — has nominated the worst judicial candidate since Roger Brooke Taney, the chief justice who authored the Dred Scott decision. [Nominee’s name] may be worse. Not only does [he or she] view African-Americans as chattel, but women as second-class citizens!

Most Republicans want to return America to the oppressive and conformist days of the 1950s when everyone had a job instead of welfare!

President Trump has nominated a person who wants to return to the slave days of 1850s!

This would be Armageddon for our Constitution. Women would be forced to seek reproduction freedom from back-alley butchers again. Republicans would bar minorities and millennials from voting. People would be allowed to own as many guns as they like without registering them; vaginas would be more regulated than assault weapons!

They’re so comically predictable by now it pretty much writes itself, in a way. And damned if I didn’t just realize that Surber isn’t in Ye Old Blogrolle, which I remedied with a quickness. I really need to give that thing a good going-over soon.

Dream a little dream update! Elsewhere Surber explores a topic I mentioned here not long ago myself, but in much greater detail than I did.

In addition to being an obscene poison pen writer, Kevin D. Williamson is sloppy. He penned an ode to Harley-Davidson because it is standing up to “The Man” by shipping more production overseas to protest President Trump’s tariffs.

Williamson missed the real story. Harley-Davidson owes its existence to tariffs imposed by President Reagan in 1983. Ingratitude is hard to see when you are a Never Trumper basking in the glow of conservative victories that President Trump earned.

Harley now has plants all over the world. Harley, Williamson and the National Review ignored Reagan’s actions and words. They bet against America. They call it free trade, but given the low wages paid in Thailand, where Harley is building a plant, maybe we should call it slave trade.

Williamson wrote, “unilateral free trade is an idea far too radical for our current timid national mood.”

Unilateral free trade is economic euthanasia.

“Free trade” is a chimera, a unicorn. As long as there are nation-states with governments pursuing competing interests, it will not exist—it cannot exist.

Victory: there is no substitute

When it comes to the Left, there’s no other option, either.

As the Left continues to spiral out of control — foaming, spitting, frothing in rage — it’s time to state the obvious: that in the battle for the soul of America, there can be only one winner. Either we retain as much as possible of the country-as-founded, including its national character, or we watch it “fundamentally transformed” into a “social democracy” of the kind envisioned by the adherents of Critical Theory, and brought to us courtesy of the Frankfurt School’s ideological seizure of academe. Although some might wish otherwise, there is no middle ground, no accommodation, no splitting the difference.

Our opponents on the Left understand this perfectly well. Their motto, for decades, has been “there is only the fight,” which also happens to have been the title of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s senior thesis at Wellesley. They’ve made it very clear all along that they’re in this for the long haul. Conservatives like to think that history, tradition, logic, and morality will win out in the end, and that our opponents will eventually see the error of their ways, if not the light. But as history shows, that’s simply not true. The Left won’t stop unless it is stopped. Which means that, for us, total victory in the defense of Western civilization and the American ideal is the only option.

Ascribing good motives to our friends across the aisle is a fool’s errand. Like most villains, they think of themselves as the heroes of their own twisted morality play, casting themselves as noble superheroes for truth, silver-surfing the “arc of history” as it bends toward their definition of justice.

Which is why it amuses me so greatly whenever they begin to talk about the Constitution in terms less derogatory than their usual “Outdated document written by old white men” line. But it’s something they do only when it suits Lefty purposes; it’s a tactic, not a principle. Walsh knows it too:

This is why there can be no peace with the Left: in their zeal to destroy the pillars of the American Republic, they keep moving the goal posts, discarding positions faster than runway models can change clothes. To conservatives, this appears to be inconsistency or hypocrisy, but to “progressives” there is nothing at all contradictory about it: whatever serves the cause will be wielded as a weapon against the established order. The only consistency they have is their desire to win “by any means necessary.”

Bingo. It’s all about expediency with them, and they’ll use any tool at hand. Their single-minded quest for a tyranny they’re in charge of is beyond relentless. At this point Walsh brings out the REALLY sharp knives, which is my cue to lay off the excerpting and insist that you go read it all.

Fascism finally descends on America

And it ain’t wearing a smiley face, either.

Newsflash? America, we have a problem.

Whatever guise in which they cloak themselves — actor, patron, restaurant owner, Member of Congress, Media Matters official, activist, student — in fact, behind the mask, these are America’s real fascists. The BBC noted of Mussolini’s “Black Shirts” that they were organized “into armed squads known as Black Shirts, who terrorized their political opponents” — which is, in one form or another, precisely what today’s American fascists are all about. Antifa is, in fact, as reported by the Washington Post, decidedly acting as hooded “armed squads” — in the fashion of another founded-by-Leftists made-in-America terror squad…the Ku Klux Klan.

While we are not hell and gone from freedom, we are in fact on the road to a society in which fascists are on the loose amongst us. And I use the word “fascists” (as I have before) advisedly. These aren’t “bullies” — the standard “hey I’m bigger than you” tough guys encountered periodically in everyday life on schoolyards or in executive suites or labor halls. These are out-and-out Mussolini-style fascists, determined to terrorize and silence their political opponents and anyone else they see as getting in their way.

This has been a long time coming. Decades worth of leftist violence have preceded this moment — whether at the Democratic National Convention in 1968 or the window smashing spree in Seattle when the World Trade Organization came to Seattle in 1999 or the car-burning, window smashing rage on the streets of Washington, D.C. during Trump’s 2017 inauguration — and, oh, so much more.

It’ll stop only when real Americans finally decide they’ve put up with enough of it and do something about it directly themselves…and not one moment before. Yeah, those 400 million or more guns we have are nice and all, but mere possession of them has deterred jack-nothing—and won’t, whether they’re sitting in a closet, a gun safe, or buried in the backyard. Nobody needs to bother with confiscating guns from people unprepared to use them when the necessity becomes impossible to deny.

We’re not quite there yet, perhaps. But with unhinged Lefty assaults increasing and no sign of any pullback in sight, the case becomes increasingly difficult to make. Things are going to get sporty, I’m afraid. In fact, for one side, they already have.

One only has to read the Twitter feed out there of this or that progressive — or of conservatives when progressives show up to rage — and one is struck by the mental unbalance, the raw anger, the foaming-at-the-mouth frustrated fury. Tellingly, they project on to others what is in fact true of themselves. “Fascist! Nazi! Racist!” they shriek, celebrating those who threaten or wield the clubs of verbal or physical repression not to mention the racism of identity politics. And downhill it goes from there.

The question is: what to do about the rage of now-unmasked American fascists? Before someone gets hurt?

Seriously? Lots of people—LOTS of them—have already been hurt. In a most sickening irony, it’s exclusively the people who wish only to be left alone who’ve “been hurt”; in accord with the nature of fascism, it’s the ones who refuse to leave ANYBODY alone who have done the hurting, then skated away consequence-free.

Like it or not, the only effective way of dealing with fascism once it’s taken full root remains the one used back in the 1940s—which only makes sense, since fascism itself hasn’t changed all that much since then. Hopefully, we’ll rediscover our resolve before things come to that. But as always seems to be the case, time is probably a lot tighter than we may care to think.

Update! Painting themselves into a corner that can only be escaped through violence.

When people tell you they want to hurt you, you should believe them. And we Normals are starting to listen to what liberals say.

There’s really nowhere else for the liberals to go but towards embracing widespread violence. The logic of their twisted mindset is such that Normals are not merely wrong and not merely evil, but that normal Americans and those who represent them are the evilest evildoers in evil history.

This does not leave much room for reasoned debate. In fact, it makes reasoned debate impossible. So, since they’ve taken reasoned debate off the table, there are not a lot of options left for resolving political and cultural differences. There are lies, intimidation, and violence. That’s about it. And the first two have stopped working.

Intimidation isn’t working. It makes the libs quiver with joy, but it just makes us mad. Getting your opponent riled up is a poor strategy, especially at the ballot box. Mad people tend to retaliate. November is coming, and we all fully understand that every middle finger selfie, every vicious tweet, every assault on a conservative diner, is an attack on us.

So, the left will embrace violence. It’s only a matter of time. They have to go there, because there’s nothing else left to try to undo our successful rebellion of 2016. The inertia of their hatred makes it inevitable.

Again: they already went there. Again, and again, and again.

The Democrat base won’t tolerate a retreat from extremism. They must push forward, get more extreme, pump up the volume, with each MSNBC chatterclown striving to top the previous doofus’s Hitler hyperbole. These Democrat idiots are going to talk themselves into a Second Civil War and then act surprised when it works out poorly again.

I wish I had some suggestions about how to make this not happen. I’ve pulled the alarm about it here at Townhall and in books highlighting the potential for the country to split apart and descend into chaos. But there is nothing we can do to stop this because we did not start it and we are not driving forward.

Oh, there is most assuredly ONE thing we can do. As decent, peaceable people, it’s a difficult thing to hope for, and impossible to contemplate with anything but reluctance and regret. But to say there’s nothing we can do is inaccurate.

Only liberals can choose not to go down the road to widespread, systematic violence. But if they choose poorly, Normals are ready, willing, and able stop them. Last month, Normal Americans bought over two million new guns. They’ve got 400 million already. Normals are sitting on a towering mountain of lead-launching freedom.

Ready, yeah. Able, surely. Willing? Remains to be seen.

But we’d prefer the option the liberals have ignored – a return to a society where disputes are resolved via the processes outlined in the Constitution and the individual rights set forth within it are respected.

Don’t go with violence, progressives. It will end badly.

We can only hope so, which is a sad and terrible thing in itself. But as I keep saying, our differences are irreconcilable: one side must win, and one must lose. However regretful I am that we’ve been dragged to this sorry pass, I know which way I prefer things to go.

Fat chance update! I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken.

Someone is going to get killed. We have gone beyond the severed presidential head held by the unfunny and untalented Kathy Griffin to mob action, including the physical harassment of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen who just days before was drummed out of a Mexican restaurant by left-wing activists protesting the separation of children from parents caught crossing the border illegally.

In the days of civil discourse, ideological opponents would target each other’s rhetoric, not each other. What you said was evil or inappropriate and must be denounced. Now, following Saul Alinsky’s playbook, it is not what conservatives stand for that is evil. Conservatives themselves are evil. They must be thrown out of restaurants, confronted at their homes and, yes, shot on baseball practice fields.

Just as in the case of Steve Scalise, those on the left are suggesting that Sarah Sanders, Kirstjen Nielsen, and even young Baron Trump, deserve the vitriol and confrontation directed at them. Their hateful end-justifies-the-means rhetoric will likely inspire someone like the loon who shot up an Alexandria baseball field to take similar action.

After all, if you believe in securing the border and enforcing the nation’s laws, you have it coming.

Oh, it’s a good bit worse than just that, I’m afraid. Christian; “cisnormal binary”; pro-life; capitalist; pro-freedom of speech; gun-owner; non-vegan; pro-Constitutional government—any one of these things justifies dealing you a beatdown, and that’s by no means an all-inclusive list. For the Goosesteppin’ Left, just not being one of Them is plenty enough.

Off their rocker

Roger Simon takes a peek into the rubber room.

Self-destructive, nincompoop behavior is rampant with members of the so-called Resistance (what a desecration of the real Resistance that is!) now showing up at restaurants to harass members of the administration while they eat. Do these clowns have any idea how that plays in Middle America? Do these people think they are accomplishing anything but their own defeat?

And how about yet another Fonda hoping Trump’s young son would be locked in a cage with pederasts. Does that aging Hollywood nitwit actually think he’s influencing public opinion in his direction by saying that? Has he had a lobotomy?

The problem is that it’s not just Hollywood lamebrains and jejune social justice idiots that have been infected, it’s the entire liberal/progressive side of the country, starting with the literary/media elites who give them their marching orders.

They are all having a nervous breakdown and it keeps getting worse, because… because…. because Trump.

But I have news for them.  It’s not at all about Trump. It’s about them.

Trump is what the shrinks call the ‘presenting complaint.” The real problem, as is often the case in psychotherapy, is something entirely different. And it is this: the left is dead. It’s not only dead, it’s decomposed with no there there or anywhere.

Only dopes or con artists believe in socialism anymore (hello, Venezuela!) and identity politics has been exposed as the racist shell game it is with blacks and Latinos actually doing better than they have in decades under the current pro-capitalist administration.

So the left has nothing to say, only most of them don’t quite realize it yet.

May they never figure it out—until their ossified, toxic ideology is dead as a doornail, never to rise again.

Progress!

To some, it may not seem like much. It is.

North Korea erasing most anti-US propaganda
Nix the nuclear warheads, cue the doves.

The North Korean government is erasing much of its anti-U.S. propaganda following dictator Kim Jong-un’s forays onto the world stage.

Gone are the posters depicting the U.S. as a “rotten, diseased, pirate nation” and promising “merciless revenge” on American forces for an imagined attack on the totalitarian country.

In their place are cheery messages touting the prospects for Korean reunification and the declaration Kim signed in April with South Korean President Moon Jae-in promising “lasting peace,” according to reports.

Murals, banners and posters displayed throughout the capital, Pyongyang, have for decades depicted the U.S. as a brutal, imperialist aggressor hell-bent on destroying the North Korean regime. South Korea and Japan were also frequently targeted as willing allies of the U.S.

But things started to take an Orwellian turn in the run-up to Kim’s June 12 summit with President Donald Trump, with the old posters vanishing since then.

Actually, I’d say the turn is away from the prior Orwellian status quo, myself.

“All the anti-American posters I usually see around Kim Il-sung Square and at shops, they’ve all just gone,” Rowan Beard, a tour manager at Young Pioneer Tours, told Reuters. “In five years working in North Korea, I’ve never seen them completely disappear before.”

Yeah, well, you never saw Trump’s tough, carrot-and-big-stick diplomacy before, either. Which brings us to this:

The New York Times seemed puzzled by the Republican reaction to the Resistance. Instead of serving as a wedge between President Trump and the party, the Resistance serves as an adhesive.

The Times approach to Trump supporters was laughably offensive. It reported, “In interviews across the country over the last few days, dozens of Trump voters, as well as pollsters and strategists, described something like a bonding experience with the president that happens each time Republicans have to answer a now-familiar question: ‘How can you possibly still support this man?'”

Buried in Paragraph 26 was the answer, from John Westling, 70, of Princeton, Minnesota, who said, “Let’s see. Economy booming, check. Unemployment down, check. Border security being addressed, check. Possible end to the Korean War that started when I was 3 years old, 68 years ago, check.”

So simple only a Leftard pseudo-intellectual could fail to comprehend it. Which, in its turn, brings us to this:

You knew it was coming. Eighteen months into the Trump administration and the president’s ostensibly serious critics have finally broken the glass on the “Trump-is-a-Nazi” line of attack.

To be certain, there were previous allusions to this from media, Democrats and “Never Trumpers” — accusations of authoritarianism meant to implicitly draw the connection between President Donald Trump and Nazi Germany. Apart from the “over-woke,” under-informed Hollywood set, however, critics largely managed to avoid making the explicit comparison.

Until now, that is, with the issue of family separations at the U.S. border dominating headlines.

Apart from the historical ignorance in comparing the mechanized genocide of 6 million people with the temporary warehousing of children in detention facilities, going full-bore with accusations of Nazism is a grave strategic error on the part of those opposing the president.

Despite what should have been a slam-dunk for critics of the president, the overwrought rhetoric of Democrats may have handed the modern-day Teflon Don another victory, and harmed their longer-term prospects in the process.

They don’t get it. They never will. They desperately need to shut their foamy yaps and dial back the fucktard insanity—when they lash out hysterically at Trump as “LITERALLY HITLER,” normal Americans well know the insult is aimed at them too, having heard it plenty already—but it’s the one thing they cannot do. Meanwhile, as the freaks froth and fume, Normals see Trump lifting America up from the Democrat-Socialist muck and mire at every turn, with success after success after success both at home and abroad. They see Trump defending their values and inspiring their hope after decades of whimpering and betrayal from milquetoast Republicans. They see the approach to governing they long advocated for working, just as they always knew it would.

“Longer-term prospects” for Democrat Socialists? They have none. Nor should they. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of assholes, as I always say.

“CRY ME ANOTHER RIVER OF SALTY TEARS, YOU INFANTILE FREAKS”

Heartiste—who, thanks to the most damnable of oversights, was not in Ye Olde Blogrolle until a few minutes ago—lets fly.

So many leftoid crocodile tears shed for bawlin’ beanlets dragged by their parents thousands of miles away from their homelands, while not a single tear spared for poor White kids who live a few towns over. Tears for the former are grace and empathy personified, while tears for the latter are gauche. That’s how moral enlightenment looks once refracted through the twisted shitlib mind.

“How dare you?” shrieks the anchorshitlib in high dudgeon when her Void-Cunt Conformism Test is defied by a wompin’ White man whose sympathies are more realistically and sincerely situated closer to home. “These poor (brown) children are being separated from their parents! IT’S A NATIONAL DISGRACE,” she screams through red face and eyes bulging with fire and brimstone. To which the only needed response is, “lol suk a dik, you leftoids are off your rockers. ‘Tender age’ kids are separated every day from their parents…it’s called elementary school!”

Yellow journalism isn’t the right term for what’s going on today with the media, which is much worse than mere sensationalism. The media is now into passing off lies and suppressing truths to whip up fervor among their remnant shitlib followers in the hopes of inciting either an impeachment or an assassination of Trump. It’s that bad.

Manufactured emotionalism is the Chaimstream Media’s sole purpose now. Truth? Objectivity? Journalistic ethics? Sanity? Toss it in the bin, because the only thing that matters is winding up a bunch of hysterical cat ladies, urban sluts, and soyboys over the phony plight of foreign invaders who use their kids as “get into the US free” props. The media’s mottos can be condensed to “Anything to Get Trump” and “No Lie Too Big”.

But a funny thing happened (again) during this combo platter two minutes hate + two minutes sanctimony: the central figure — the core conceit — of the shitlib narrative collapsed, and made a farce of what was already a sham.

The Great Bawlin’ Beanlet Hoax of 2018 was always about Trump and what he and his followers represent: a disturbing lack of faith in the value of histrionic anti-White moralism. It was, yet again, a theatrical piece of agitprop around which shitlibs could coalesce into an uptalking choir of smarmy self-righteousness revealing an increasingly fragile superiority complex over those deplorable Whites who don’t commute to work via bike lane. Every modren day madness roiling the Hajnalsphere is just another front in the IntraWhite War.

With that much rich buttery goodness already, need I even suggest that you go read the rest of it? Apologies to Chateau Heartiste for the delayed entry into both my blogroll and bookmarks, by the way.

Oopsie update! Oh, we REALLY got him now!

Yes, it’s true that after a few days of media hysteria over the “crisis” on the border, which reflects a situation not all that dissimilar to the way things have been down there for two decades other than the fact the behavior by the illegals is worse than it’s ever been, Trump signed an executive order aimed at getting the issue off the front page. And yes, that executive order was a step down from a policy which, given time, probably would have deterred the wave of illegals coming to the border. But the Rasmussen poll shows that this was at best a Tet Offensive by the Democrats — not a substantive victory.

Anyone with a brain knows, of course, that the issue was only on the front page due to the necessity of finding something — anything — that would displace the earth-shaking Inspector General’s report from its rightful place there. The IG report is the most newsworthy item in American current events in the past five years, if not far longer — not just because of the governmental corruption depicted in its 500 pages but because of the whitewash the conclusions of the report entail. Queried about that disconnect — the mountain of evidence of bias and corruption in the body of the report and its nonetheless weak executive summary — Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz refused to disagree with much of anything his House and Senate interlocutors in hearings this week presented him with.

The inference to be drawn from this is obvious — if we get to see the original draft of Horowitz’s report, we’ll likely find that its conclusions are in line with those of the Jim Jordans, Trey Gowdys, and Lindsey Grahams of the world, but when that report was reviewed by muckety-mucks within DOJ they were watered down to Horowitz’s dismay.

Maybe. Either way, what’s in the report makes Watergate look like a two-bit burglary. And we know there is more coming, because Horowitz is set to deliver another report, this one on the Russia investigation, soon.

Wonder what the Democrats and their stenographers in the legacy media will come up with to displace that news. Asteroids? Tidal waves? The return of Zuul?

All we can know for sure is that 1) there WILL be something, and 2) it will be even more bugfuck-nuts than the last attempt, as their abject failures continue to pile up and push them ever closer to the abyss of literal psychopathy. Those who aren’t there already, that is.

Insurrection

It’s in Portland, so who the fuck cares.

“Occupy” protesters have been camping outside an ICE office in Portland, Oregon, leading the facility to temporarily shut down.  The occupiers say that they won’t leave until the Trump administration revokes its “zero tolerance” immigration policy.

Operations at the facility have been suspended until “security concerns have been addressed,” ICE said in a statement. Antifa news aggregator “It’s Going Down” crowed in a celebratory post that the occupiers had evicted ICE.

A member of Occupy ICE PDX said, “We were able to shut down this facility. Although they say it is temporary, it will not be temporary. It’s another testament to what can happen when…regular people stop waiting for politicians and get together and actively make the change that they want to see in their community.”

On Friday, someone climbed a flagpole and removed the American flag in front of the ICE building.

Of course they did.

They replaced it with a “Refugees Welcome” flag.

Why bother with that, when you flakes, fruits, nuts, and freaks could have just gotten right down to brass tacks by replacing Old Glory with your beloved hammer and sickle? As per usual, Leftard thugs are stealing, harrassing innocent passersby, wrecking small businesses, and disrupting traffic with their lawless tantrum:

One business had some outdoor items taken Thursday night but they were found in the camp and returned.

“We had visitors who were not comfortable as we started to walk back from a restaurant to our building, so we went back to the restaurant and called Uber,” one person told KOIN 6 News.

Another said, “The other day one of the protesters jumped out in front of my car as I was going home blocking most of the street.”

That’s known as a “target of opportunity” where I come from. Shoulda floored it, better luck next time. This next is the main reason I posted this, though:

One protester said the occupiers are starting to get harassed too.

“Someone just came by and sprayed us with poop,” she said. “That’s just mean.”

Aww, poor baby; her own shit is being thrown back at her—both figuratively and literally, now—and she’s all butthurt over it.

Trust me: you ain’t even BEGUN to see “mean” yet, snowflake. But you’re going to. As Schlichter always says: you idiots are gonna hate the New Rules.

Just remember: all of this, every last bit of it—the hysteria, insanity, and childish acting-out; the Mueller coup attempt; the neverending urban unrest, disorder, and violent “protests”; the relentless propaganda assault from Leftymedia; the harrassment of normal Americans everywhere—is taking place strictly because Hillary!™ lost, and her vile supporters refuse to accept the results of a legitimate election. They expected to retain absolute control forever; they got an unexpected comeuppance thanks to the Trump Uprising, and they can’t cope with it. That really is all there is to it.

They’re as pathetic as they are contemptible.

Fuck you. War.

Three days after a left-wing mob hounded Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen out of a D.C. Mexican restaurant, another group of far-left agitators has harassed her outside her Virginia townhouse.

Early Friday morning, according to the Washington Times, about two dozen protesters from the Soros-linked group CREDO Action held up signs outside the embattled DHS secretary’s home that read “child snatcher,” chanting “no justice, no sleep” and blaring an audio clip of crying immigrant children.

Anybody out there up for providing random shitlibs with a like experience: doxxing, SWATting, picketing their homes and workplaces, loud and angry protests at their children’s schools, trying to get them fired, et al?

If not, why not? Because it’s the only way this will ever stop, and it’s high time we all realized it and did something about it, before it escalates any further than it already has. Here’s why:

It seems, maybe, that President Donald Trump has abandoned his policy of separating children from their immigrant parents and warehousing them in detention facilities. But the conflict over the policy has been, among other things, starkly clarifying.

Catch that? TRUMP’S policy. Which has been in place since 2008. Established by Congressional legislation, supported by judicial fiat, enforced by every presidential administration along the way. Without a murmur of protest from the likes of this twit, Laura fucking Bush, Democrat Socialists, Leftymedia, or anybody else…other than the criminal aliens rightly subject to its mandate.

“I think we’re at the beginning of a soft civil war,” political scientist Thomas Schaller said in a telephone interview. “I don’t know if the country gets out of it whole.”

Perhaps it shouldn’t. Perhaps we shouldn’t even hope that it does.

The heightened conflict of recent weeks led to more ominous rhetoric — anyone else notice the abundance of Nazi references from sane people? — and more definitive, unequivocal acts. Former Republican strategist Steve Schmidt renounced his party of 29 years this week and pledged to vote for Democrats until decency returns to the GOP.

Law professor and blogger Orin Kerr, perhaps sensing the ugly turn in the air, tweeted: “Few things are more corrosive in politics than the conviction that you have been wronged so much that you’re justified in breaking all the rules to get even.”

For years, Republicans have led the way in breaking rules — from taking the national debt hostage to usurping a Supreme Court seat. In a 2016 poll, almost three-quarters of Trump supporters, a group marked by grievances, agreed that the country needed a leader who would “break some rules,” as did 57 percent of Republicans overall. Only 41 percent of Democrats agreed.

But Democrats can tire of rules, too.

Catch all that? Every word of it horseshit, every word of it FAR more rightly applicable to the Democrat Socialists than it ever has to Republicans. I mean, come ON: “Democrats can tire of rules too”? There’s no way in the world to logically argue with such patently arrant nonsense; it would be like to trying to make a sensible case that that fish do not in fact have wings and fly through the air. And this guy wouldn’t be listening if you tried anyway. I repeat: it’s trying to teach the pig to sing all over again.

And THAT is why it’s time to abandon further hopeless attempts at honest dialogue with them. As this horseshit article demonstrates, their whole position is founded on nothing but self-serving lies, shot through with vicious, contemptuous antipathy towards their country and everyone in it who holds a differing opinion. They aren’t seeking compromise, but conquest. They wish not to govern in accordance with the will of the governed, but to rule in defiance of it. They hope not to persuade, but to stampede—not to nudge, but to trample.

One of these things is not like the other. It’s Harry Potter versus Voldemort: neither can live while the other survives.

“Don’t know if the country gets out of it whole”? We no longer have a country, in any meaningful sense. What we have is a geographical area populated by two mutually incompatible belief systems, with absolutely nothing in common but hostility. To think of America as a nation nowadays is to cling to an ideal discarded long ago, like a grief-stricken relative grimly clutching the dead and rotting corpse of a once-beloved spouse or offspring—a corpse that no amount of desperation will reanimate.

If we want them to leave us alone, we’re going to have to make harrassing and tormenting us painful for them. That means showing them that we’ll no longer take their abuse lying down. It means, to quote their Lord, Savior, and inspiration, getting in their faces and punching back twice as hard. “Taking the high road,” “stooping to their level,” “that’s not who we are”—no bully was ever dissuaded by such mealymouthed evasion. But a shiner and a bloody nose works every time.

Tough questions

Pat Buchanan asks ’em.

The questions America and the West face might thus be framed:

Is there a liberal, progressive, Christian way to seal a 2,000-mile border, halt millions of migrants from crossing it illegally, and send intruders back whence they came? Or does the preservation of Western nations and peoples require measures from which liberal societies today reflexively recoil?

Does the survival of the West as a civilization require a ruthlessness the West no longer possess?

All signs point to yes.

While our forefathers would have not hesitated to do what was needed to secure our borders and expel intruders, it is not a settled matter as to whether this generation has the will to preserve the West.

All signs point to no. Denninger cuts to the chase:

Again, let me point out that only somewhere between 3 and 10% of these people, depending on who’s stats you believe, show up for their hearings. The other 90-97% disappear and cannot work at any legal job in the United States. They all undertake criminal lives to be present and live in the United States as there is no legal way for them to obtain a job, place to live and means of transportation such as a driver license when they abscond from their “asylum” hearing; are you really insane enough to believe that the children with them, nearly none of whom have any sort of documentation proving they are related to the adults, are anything more than weapons to be used in their criminal pursuits?

Maybe it’s time for a hard schism in America — it appears there simply is no way to bridge differences any longer.

So it would seem—if not right away, then soon enough, if things continue on the current track.

Update! As I said the other day, this whole shitfling is nothing but a con, a ploy, a stratagem. Nice thing is, in another week or so this will be forgotten and we’ll be on to the next one.

Well, okay, maybe “nice” ain’t the word.

So what are we supposed to be outraged about today? There’s always something, and it’s always the worst thing in the history of ever. And it’s almost always a scam designed to manipulate you into obeying the liberal elite.

That’s the real outrage.

Don’t think! Get outraged! Let your feelings run free, feelings generated by pictures of kids in cages (under Obama, but shhhhhh!), by super selective Bible readings on MSNBC, and by pious Fredocons whining about how we’re better than that and oh well I never!

That’s the thing – when you’re caught in an outrage monsoon, you aren’t supposed to think. You are supposed to be infuriated, aroused, and activated, like a ravenous running zombie hungering for the virtue signaling lobe of the human brain. You are not supposed to ask questions that interrupt the narrative, like why would this particular subset of criminal get special privileges? Don’t we separate families every day when mommy (or daddy) commits a crime? Why don’t they just not come here?

Facts are the enemy when it comes to liberal policies, so they don’t want you messing with the message by bringing them up. Instead, they want you outraged, and your mind clouded with ginned-up anger, ready to do their bidding.

The idea is to create a crisis, to which – surprise – the liberals hyping it have a solution. And it’s inevitably a solution that benefits the liberal elite.

And harms the country, simultaneously demeaning, demoralizing, or otherwise marginalizing normal Americans as well. None of that is either accident or coincidence, of course. Schlichter goes on to provide some helpful indicators on how to know another Lefty attempt to gin up a stampede when you see one.

Another angle update! Lest we forget.

In addition, of course, this burst of OUTRAGE! was timed to bury the genuinely outrageous scandal being revealed about how Obama misadministration put the FBI and other intelligence services to work for the political benefit of the DNC and Hillary Clinton.

Not to mention that those federal agencies were so chock-a-block with fellow-traveling shitlibs as to be not just willing but quite eager to do it, too. How sad for the whole rats’ nest of them that so many are fully woke to their tactics now, wih more opening their eyes every day.

Lakota, or Choctaw?

Oh, I’m gonna be abusing the hell out of “fair use” with this one.

First, we all have to accept certain realities about where we are as a nation. Rains will come and go. The stock market will rise and fall. The sky is blue. Water is wet. And government in America will just never stop getting bigger. This is simply a fact of life.

We haven’t seen our government shrink since Calvin Coolidge, and there is little appetite among the American public for shrinking the government. We are now at the point in this country where we call them “cuts” if the government doesn’t increase spending quite as much as they had planned.

As government gets bigger, freedom must get smaller. Larger government, even when under the rule of supposed Republicans, is a leftist’s dream. Every day brings a new story about the infestation of liberalism in the federal bureaucracy. Such is the way of the world.

So, barring some unforeseen awakening, America is heading for an eventual socialist abyss. It is really only a matter of dates. Will we all die in the inevitable communist purges within ten years? Of course not. Will it happen within the next century or two? Almost certainly.

Do you remember the American Indians? Most likely you at least give them a passing thought whenever you pull a stick of Land O’ Lakes butter out of the fridge or hear some liberal pretend to be outraged over the Washington Redskins. Either way, they were the randomly settled group of nomadic tribes who resided in America before a bunch of Europeans arrived, took all their lands, and conquered them.

The Indians were faced with something that faces all civilizations. It’s something we face now. They were facing the unstoppable force of inevitability. Many of them knew it. The settlers from Europe were about to take over every inch of this country. Some tribes, like the Choctaw, chose to play nice with the government in hopes that their peaceful gesture would be returned. They got a Trail of Tears for their kindness.

But some tribes, like the Lakota, chose a different path. They chose war. Leaders of the Lakota like Sitting Bull knew full well how this war would end. Nevertheless, he gathered thousands of young warriors in the Black Hills and made his enemy feel some pain before he surrendered. He scored a decisive win at the Battle of the Little Bighorn, and collected some scalps. Yes, the U.S. government prevailed in the end, but General Custer and his 200 men weren’t there to see it.

That brings us to the continuous internal battle we see on the Right. We have this ever-present acrimony between the factions because some of us will not accept where we are and the enemies we face.

Some on the Right believe that tyranny in this society, as in all societies, is inevitable. The people who will micromanage every aspect of your life are not God-fearing conservatives. They are leftists, and they are vicious.

They are not political opponents in the sense that you have a debate with them. These modern-day leftists want you to lose your job. They want to destroy you. How do you think they’re going to treat you when they finally sit in the seat of power for good? So fight them tooth and nail. Make them long for the day when you’re no longer fighting them. Be the Lakota.

Amen to that. The battle for America That Was was lost long ago. America That Was is not coming back—period. Trump amounts to a holding action, a breathing space, and I’m all for him undoing every Leftist depredation against liberty and Constitutional government he possibly can, bless his heart.

But as I’ve always said, the unmaking of America didn’t happen overnight, and no one man will ever be able to undo the tangled skein of Progressivism now woven throughout the national fabric. Worse, there’s not another candidate of Trump’s talents, attitude, and indifference to the slings and arrows of Leftism in sight. After Trump, the odds are that we’ll get another milksop Republican or (shudder) Democrat Socialist in the White House, either of which will mean that the Deep State monolith will be quickly re-established.

None of which means that the bastards who took America That Was from us ought not to be made to suffer for it, to the greatest extent we can manage. Really, it’s no more than a matter of elementary self-defense by now, as Ironbear noted in a comment to an earlier post here:

Stephen Scalise, mentioned in your post.

The guy who was killed by a SWATting, also mentioned in your post.

The older people (multiple) who were dragged out of cars and assaulted and battered during the 2016 elections and primaries.

The woman who was egged and assaulted during rally in the Primaries.

The homeless woman who was assaulted and battered while trying to defend Trump’s Hollywood walk star.

Rand Paul, beaten while mowing his lawn by an anti-Trump Democrat neighbor.

The guy who was dragged off the stage at a rally while trying to violently get to Trump.

The fire at Trump Tower.

Charlottesville…

Should I continue the list? I can.

We’re in a shooting war.

The other side is the only ones shooting – and that’s only because the Right is far more patient than one has any right to expect.

Now, it may not be the Deep State itself directly committing these broad-daylight assaults against decent Americans. But it’s being done with tacit Deep State connivance, especially when you realize how very few of these various acts of political violence saw justice done via the legal system. Having witnessed the Deep State’s own recent and ongoing efforts at election-rigging and outright coup d’état, that lapse shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

Yeah, the bastards won. True, with Trump’s election, we’re no longer in full rout; it’s just possible we may somehow win the war yet, against all odds. But if no more than a fighting retreat ends up being all that’s left to us, then we damned well ought to make it as fierce a one as can be imagined, and make them pay most dear for every inch of ground we must cede to them.

“Another fake crisis”

It surely is.

Now we are treated to the spectacle of US border officials ripping children away from their loving “parents”–and we don’t know if they’re the parents. “Separated,” yes, “separated” is now the new evil word! Curse you, Trump! This never happened under previous Presidents! Hollywood types are all abuzz; the word “NAZI” makes a frequent appearance. Hillary Clinton, her very self, is now up-in-arms over taking children from their “parents.” The women who told us that it takes a village to rear our kids doesn’t like that village when it’s run by Trump. The same progs who have set forward and funded billions upon billions of dollars worth of programs that take children from parents–“Child Services,” anybody?–object to children being separated temporarily from criminals. Oops! Did I just write C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L-S? There I wrote it again.

Yes, folks these “asylum” seekers are, in fact, criminals. If nothing else, they are child trafficking coyotes.

First of all, we must question their love for the kids if they are putting them through a brutal and illegal trip; this, as noted, is child trafficking at its worst. Second, if they were legitimate asylum seekers, they would go to a legal border crossing, and claim asylum. They would get a respectful hearing, and “their” kids would not be ripped away. Instead, of course, these “asylum” seekers have allowed themselves to become pawns in a cynical and ILLEGAL process that exploits children. This stunt is pushed by well-funded progressive activists, abetted by Mexican officials, with the intention of collapsing our immigration system and creating a fake but very loud and visible political and humanitarian “crisis.” I repeat, people crossing our border illegally, there’s that pesky word, are, by definition, breaking the law and engaging in criminal behavior. If a bank robber were to show up at the bank with his kids and get arrested, would the kids stay with him? No. Child Services, anybody? We don’t keep minor children incarcerated with adult criminals; imagine the “OUTRAGE!” were we to do that.

Another fake crisis.

Comrade Elian Gonzalez could not be reached for comment.

Update! TuCa blasts ’em but good.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday blasted the “self-righteous posturing” of politicians and media figures eager to condemn the Trump administration for its border policy.

“So, the same people who support the third term post-viability abortion for purposes of sex selection are now lecturing you about God and sin and the holiness of children. Feel chastened?” Carlson asked sardonically before launching into a few more examples, including Michael Hayden’s comparison of the border situation to Nazi Germany.

“We could go on,” The Daily Caller co-founder said. “There was so much more just like that. The rich and powerful reminding you just how virtuous they are. Do you think any of these people really care about family separation? If they did, they would be worried about the collapse of the American family, which is measurable and real, but they are not worried about that. In fact, they welcome that collapse, because strong families are an impediment to their political power. That’s why they are always lecturing you about the patriarchy and the evil of the American family.”

“This is one of those moments that tells you everything about our ruling class. They care far more about foreigners than their own people,” said Carlson, pointing out that they also aren’t “interested in solutions to anything. They are great at yelling and at preening but not so much at fixing and building.”

“Lots of people yelling at you on TV don’t even have children, so don’t for a second let them take the moral high ground,” Carlson concluded. “Their goal is to change your country forever, and they are succeeding by the way.”

Well, they were, anyway.

Via Ace, who mixes lots of rich buttery goodness into his post—including a handy how-to guide from those humanitarian patriots at #OccupyMyBalls on how to murder an ICE agent, and why you should.

Yeah, we’re gonna be able to find a way to peacefully resolve our differences with these vicious, hate-addled pigs. I’m sure we will.

Bitter tears update! The statue of liberty is weeping“? Yep. Know why? Because, as my friend Don said earlier, once upon a time immigrants came into this country with pride right in front of her via Ellis Island, with respect for our laws, eager to become Americans and contribute to our society. Now they sneak in behind her back; have no interest in becoming Americans at all; refuse to even bother learning our language; have no regard for our culture and traditions; and whine about their nonexistent “rights” while ignoring the responsibilities of citizenship.

Ask yourself why

As I keep saying: it ain’t just Trump they hate.

They’ve hated us – those heartland Americans clinging to our guns and religion – long before Trump came along and will do so long after he is gone. The Justice Department’s I.G. report has confirmed widespread prejudice among top Justice and FBI officials, but it’s a mistake to think this bias is directed against Trumpper se. Officials like Peter Strzok were intent on “stopping” Trump, but stopping him from doing what? Stopping him from restoring the right of ordinary Americans to govern their country?

Well, DUH.

With the Trump presidency, everyday citizens have gained a voice in Washington. At exactly the same time, media attacks on these Americans have exploded. The inference is clear: Hollywood, the mainstream media, and academe believe that ordinary Americans must be silenced. Only the “smart” ones, as leftists consider themselves, have a right to be heard. The left is attempting to silence the opposition and has been doing so for a long time.

Welcome to the party, pal.

Fortunately, conservatives have not succumbed to this sort of extremism. No matter how much we disagree with the left, we still believe that all Americans are entitled to the same protections under the Constitution, chief among them freedom of speech. While he may have strong disagreements, a true conservative does not respond by denying his adversary’s right to speak.

Oh lord, here we go with the “no true conservative” crap again. Because MUH PRINCIPLES!™

I fear that if they ever gain full control, progressives will go much farther than Obama did. It won’t just be the use of powerful government agencies to attempt to steal a presidential election, as appears to have happened in 2016. It will be a much broader theft of our freedom, including our personal freedoms and our right to own property.

You “fear”? It’s an absolute certainty. It’s their entire agenda; it’s their reason for being. Which makes the following sorta baffling.

Conservatives must resist, but even then, we will not descend into the level of hatred that denies the humanity of our opponents.

Then you aren’t going to win, bub. Hate to say it, hate to even think it, but it’s the sad fact.

“Conservatives” are going to have to decide what they consider to be worth fighting for, or whether anything at all is. The decision isn’t being offered to them as an option which can be avoided or abstained from; it’s being rammed down their throats, by adversaries whose commitment and relentlessness are absolute, whose willingness to do violence against their enemies has been repeatedly demonstrated. “It can’t happen here”? It already has, way more than just once.

You aren’t going to save the Shire by being shocked and sad, my dear Frodo.

House of cards, crumbling

Told ya McCabe was only the first worm to turn.

FBI agent Peter Strzok, whose controversial text messages with an ex-FBI lawyer exposed apparent wrongdoing inside the Department of Justice, is willing to testify before Congress, his lawyer said in a surprise letter Sunday.

Goelman said Strzok is willing to testify without immunity and would not invoke his Fifth Amendment rights in response to any question from a member of Congress. He also said Strzok is willing to testify before any committee that requests him.

There’ll be more Deep Staters crawling out from their grubby little holes in hopes of saving their asses before the rising tide of Truth inundates ’em. A quote from Jerry Pournelle’s “The Prince” collection seems apropos: “They demanded their rights. We’ll give them their due. We’ll give them justice.” No more, no less.

Gonna need more whitewash

Chateau Heartiste, pulling no punches.

If you’ve ever doubted what your “betters” in the degenerate ruling class think of you, dispel your doubts. You now know. And you should be thinking of them in only one way: frog-marched to the public gallows.

I dunno what to make of the discrepancy between the substance and summary of the IG Report. Read through it and it’s clear there’s enough damning information in there to put multiple heads of the FBI and DOJ on trial for treason. Or at least to appoint a special prosecutor whose job it is to lock up as many Deep State creeps as he can while razing the institutions to the ground and rebuilding them in the image of the God Emperor.

Either (((Horowitz))) is /ourguy/ or he’s /theirguy/. There’s no such thing as an objective human being; everyone has their biases which necessarily taint their work and their interpretation of evidence. If he’s /ourguy/, then why the weak sauce summary that is utterly belied by the report’s substance? Maybe he’s playing a long game to set the stage for arrests of high ranking Deep Staters down the road so that normies aren’t scared off by the spectacle, and he didn’t want to come out too strong (recall that the second IG Report into the FISC abuses by the FBI is coming out next). Or he’s /theirguy/ and he deliberately watered down the summary knowing shit tier leftoid outfits like NPR would gleefully ignore the substance to report on the conclusion that there was no political bias found (laughable on its face).

Oh, and Peter Strzok, the soyboy at the center of this Deep State tootsie roll? He wasn’t just some low ranking underling:

Strzok was in charge of
the HRC investigation
the FBI’s contribution to the hacking report
the Flynn investigation
the Trump/Russia investigation
and the first months of Mueller’s investigation.
His bias and malfeasance is kind of a big deal.
Ffs!

FFS is an understatement. Where is Jeff Sessions in all this? High treason occurs under his nose and…wtf is he doing about it? Waiting to pounce when the time is right? Jeff, the midterms are just months away; you don’t have much time left to make a move before a horde of screeching anti-American mystery meats and pussyhatters take the lower chamber.

Incredible as it may seem, there’s more. Way, way more, incuding an absurdity-highlighting Tweet from TuCa: “Thank God 69-year-old Paul Manafort is behind bars. Unchain the door, let the kids play outside. We’re safe.” Heh. Indeed.

Via WRSA, who quips: “You can stop ‘respecting the institution’ now.” One more time: heh. Indeed.

Update! A not-so-artful dodge.

Here’s the elephant in the room that the OIG tries to step over: Clinton was going to win the election and become the next president. All of the pols, polls, and pundits agreed on this point. Consequently, there was no way that the FBI and DOJ were going to do a serious investigation of Clinton. Such a course would incur her wrath and needlessly put jobs, careers, and agency budgets at risk once she took the oath of office.

Faced with the inevitability of a Clinton presidency, the FBI and DOJ went into self-preservation mode by going through the motions of doing an investigation and publicly exonerating her. But it was all a vaudeville act staged to help Hillary put one over on the rubes who comprise the great unwashed voting public. By their actions, the FBI and DOJ contrived to lend their credibility to Clinton’s candidacy.

In short, even though the participants in the Clinton investigation never expressly confessed their intentions to the OIG, the clear and unambiguous facts compel the inescapable conclusion that the FBI and DOJ acted with the basest of political motives to save Hillary Clinton from criminal charges.

As the old song goes, you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Nope. In fact, you’d have to be a complete dumbass NOT to. But I have to disagree with the idea that it was all about self-preservation; being staunch Democrat Socialists and Hillary supporters, they were only too happy to do it. Really, as accustomed as the Deep State vermin had become to getting away with such skullduggery, you’d have had a hard time preventing ’em from doing it.

Keystone Koup update! Self-inflicted wounds. Hopefully fatal.

“In sum, we concluded that the explanations given for the failure of the FBI to take action on the Weiner laptop between September 29 and the end of October were unpersuasive,” notes the report of the Inspector General (IG). “The FBI had all the information it needed on September 29 to obtain the search warrant that it did not seek until more than a month later. The FBI’s neglect had potentially far-reaching consequences. Comey told the OIG [Office of Inspector General] that, had he known about the laptop in the beginning of October and thought the email review could have been completed before the election, it may have affected his decision to notify Congress.”

Peter Strzok, the FBI agent who infamously pledged to “stop” Trump’s election, did not deem the laptop important enough to explore despite knowing it contained Clinton emails, many of which remained mysteriously missing. Strzok explained his decision not to immediately seek a warrant to the IG by explaining he “did not know what was there,” a premise that usually inspires rather than dissuades curious investigators from action.

Oh, they weren’t “missing.” They were withheld, and the reason incurious “investigator” Strzok was “dissuaded from action” couldn’t be more obvious.

The gang that couldn’t shoot straight

Better sit down for this one, folks. As difficult to believe as it is, it would seem that Barry Hussein Oshitstain told a lie once.

IG Report Shows Obama Lied When He Said He Knew Nothing About Hillary’s Secret E-mail Scheme
‘The policy of my administration is to encourage transparency,’ Obama told CBS News during the same interview in which he lied.

I can’t believe it. I WON’T believe it. Uncle Peter, my smelling salts!

In 2015, President Obama told America he only learned that his secretary of state Hillary Clinton was illegally using a private email server to conduct public business after The New York Times published a story saying so. Today’s release of a Department of Justice inspector general report shows that was a lie.

“FBI analysts and Prosecutor 2 told us that former President Barack Obama was one of the 13 individuals with whom Clinton had direct contact using her clintonemail.com account,” the report says in a footnote on page 89. “Obama, like other high level government officials, used a pseudonym for his username on his official government email account.”

Boy, their whole world pretty much unravelled once Gin-Soaked Hillary!™ got sent to the royal showers, didn’t it?

The report also says Obama Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey knew that Obama had lied.

Sigh. Of course he did.

It was in 2015 that Obama had disclaimed knowledge that Clinton used a private, rather than government, email address. In 2016, while drafting a public statement explaining why the FBI wouldn’t prosecute Clinton during her run for the presidency, Comey changed the statement’s wording to hide that Obama had communicated with Clinton through her private email address, the report says.

“A paragraph [in Comey’s statement] summarizing the factors that led the FBI to assess that it was possible that hostile actors accessed Clinton’s server was added, and at one point referenced Clinton’s use of her private email for an exchange with then President Obama while in the territory of a foreign adversary,” the IG report says. “This reference later was changed to ‘another senior government official,’ and ultimately was omitted.”

Clowns. They’re all fucking clowns, for God’s sake. If you’re going to lie for a living, you need to be one hell of a lot better at it than these droolcases. A Tweet from Sean Davis is appended:

We should all wish for enemies as stupid and inept as Trump’s. A commenter on Davis’s Tweet has himself a good laugh over Barky’s shopworn perennial excuse:

You realize what this means? It means Obama didn’t even know he sent those e-mails until he read it in the IG report.

Thus proving the truth behind Treacher’s evergreen observation about saying anything he thinks will get him through the next five minutes. If I remember right, that line was in reference to somebody other than His Royal Majesty. But it applies perfectly well to just about every Democrat Socialist tapeworm you could name.

Via Ace, who adds:

Unrelated, but it turns out that Comey used personal email for government business too. Giving him a conflict of interest on this point: He had to claim a lack of ‘intent” saved Clinton, or else he’d be making the case for his own criminal prosecution.

And of course he didn’t recuse himself.

Well, I mean, DUH. It’s diff’runt when they try to rig an election, cover up their criminal and treasonous behavior, fail spectacularly at that too, and then try to overthrow the duly-elected president via a frame-job built on manufactured evidence, see. Because reasons, y’all.

Most galling of all: these are the people—yes, these fucktard stumblebums—who believe themselves so much smarter than you that their Divine Right To Rule should just be automatically assumed by all, never to be questioned or even examined. And they’re STILL shocked unto hysteria and hissy fits that they didn’t get away with it, too.

No, really. The big fat raised middle finger real Americans waved in their faces by elevating Trump to the Presidency is something they’ll never recover from. There’s only one thing left to do, which will put the lock on the rubber-room door for all time.

Lock her up. Lock him up. Lock ’em ALL up, the whole kit and kaboodle.

Update!Anyone can see what’s going on here.

Let’s bear in mind that this IG report doesn’t even get started on the Robert Mueller investigation, which we now know is the fruit of a poisonous tree planted by Clinton partisans at FBI as they believed their candidate would win. That report will come later, and it is exceptionally likely to deliver a lot worse to the Deep State gang.

All of this is very bad. The American people, who probably haven’t followed this the way they did the Watergate investigation simply because of the diversity of media coverage available today compared to the mid-1970s, still get it — the in-crowd in Washington didn’t want Trump to win and were willing to break the law and screw the Constitution in order to make Clinton president and yet were too pathetically incompetent to make that happen despite all of the resources of the federal government at their disposal. That’s reflected in polling which indicates the folks are less and less impressed with the Mueller investigation — which is the bastard child of the FBI’s 2016 bias.

This is a hopeful thing, at the end of the day. It suggests we are not slaves to our supposed masters in Washington and can still beat them when push comes to shove.

If the American people haven’t followed this the way they did Watergate, I submit that it’s due not to “diversity of media coverage” but to a near-total lack of faith or trust in the federal government: the growing awareness that every one of the rotten bastards, elected or appointed, is corrupt to the bone, and hopelessly incompetent into the bargain. But this is a hopeful thing in its own way, since it happens to be the simple truth—with more supporting evidence being unearthed every day. It’s another reason why we chose an outsider instead of just another professional politician, in fact.

We cannot spare this man

Devin Nunes, bless his heart, battles on against the swarm of Deep State vermin.

House Intel Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) was flabbergasted to find that the Strzok-Page text messages released with the IG report were redacted. He called it a “classic case of obstruction” from Congress. On the Thursday edition of FOX News’ Ingraham Angle, Nunes promised the committee is “going to get all of the documents” and the question will become, “Who is going to get busted? Who’s going to jail?”

The IG report was a whitewash, which is the only result one could expect when a Mordor on the Potomac bureaucracy as profoundly and irretrievably corrupt as the FBI/DOJ is allowed to “investigate” itself. Nunes knows all this.

“I mean, this is a classic case of obstruction, but then, the question is, who’s going to go investigate these guys?” he added.

“I want to read, to you, an exchange between Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the star-crossed lovers. She basically said, you know, she was worried (ph) he’s — Donald Trump’s not going to get elected, right, right. And he answers, basically, don’t worry, we’ll stop it. No, no, no, no, we’ll stop it,” host Laura Ingraham said to the Congressman.

“He was the lead investigator on the Clinton e-mail case,” Nunes responded. “He’s the lead investigator that starts off the counter intelligence investigation, using our intelligence agencies to go after and target the Trump campaign. This is the guy who leads that off, but worse than all that, worse than all that, and I just want to repeat what I said, in the opening.”

“Why wasn’t that given to Congress? Why did I find out about that, today, at noon?” Nunes asked.

Oh, I think we can all figure that one out easily enough.

Nunes said he doesn’t know how the Mueller investigation can “end up fairly” after at least five people have already been kicked off the team and Clinton donors make up the “rest.”

It can’t. It was never intended to. That wasn’t its purpose.

“So if there’s five people who’ve been kicked off the campaign, I mean off the Mueller team, how is it possible that – if you look at the rest of the people that are there, I mean they were all Clinton donors. So – I – you know, I don’t know how this is – this is going to end up fairly. I don’t know where this is going,” he said.

It’s either going to fizzle out eventually with a shrug and a “meh,” followed by a very loud silence, or it’s going to lead to an upheaval so violent—yes, perhaps literally—that it will shake the very foundations of our metastized, malignant cancer of a national government.

Blue wave, red sea

Running the numbers.

Liberals represent America’s distinct ideological minority. In 2016, despite eight years of America’s most liberal president popularizing and raising their issues and profile, exit polling still showed them only 26 percent of the electorate — well behind conservatives (35 percent) and moderates (39 percent). And comprising a quarter of America’s electorate is their high water mark — as recently as 2004, liberals comprised just 21 percent.

Positive spin would acclaim the left’s growth, but there is no escaping it remains just a quarter of the electorate, still needing roughly twice its number to reach an electoral majority. Yet with this liability comes loyalty: Liberals voted 84 percent for Clinton in 2016 — greater attachment to Democrats than either moderates or conservatives showed to either party.

The Democrats’ conundrum with a decidedly loyal minority is: How to win when America’s minority becomes your majority. The left has been the Democratic Party’s most fervent element for several years. Its growth, although still the nation’s ideological minority, has apparently raised it to at least close to majority status within the Democratic Party and its loyalty to the Democratic Party is unquestionable.

Democrats have little choice but to attempt to relabel the left as “progressive,” before the left re-brands the Democratic Party as “the left.”

Far, far too late for that, I’m afraid. Too bad, so sad. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of assholes.

The effort is as neat as it is necessary. By using “progressive,” they implicitly acknowledge the weakness — separation (i.e., extreme) from the center — but seek to make it positive: Although separated, it is because they are ahead of where the center will be.

Of course, the progressive label’s greatest service is masking reality diametrically opposed to its rhetoric. The left’s ideology is anything but new, just as it is anything but successful.

Slice it where you like, it’s still the same old Marxist baloney. NeverTrump GOPe cucks better figure out quick just who it is they’ve allied themselves with, lest they wind up going to the bottom with the DSS Titanic themselves.

Update! Anybody up for a Red Wave?

Nancy Pelosi, the House minority leader, is pledging higher taxes. Al Green, a seven-term Texas Democrat, and at least 58 other House Democrats, are promising impeachment. But the stock market is up, wages are up, unemployment is down, and peace may be breaking out on the Korean Peninsula. How many people will vote for higher taxes and all the social and political stress associated with impeachment?

Some Democrats are beginning to sense this. One Washington Post columnist predicted that “there will be no Trump collapse” while others are expressing concern that Mr. Mueller’s investigation — his dawn raids and strong-arm tactics — don’t play well in Peoria. If Mr. Mueller is not able to prove collusion with Russia, the stated reason for his appointment, then Democrats, who have talked about little else for the past 18 months, will be left looking unserious or worse. They’re right to worry.

Up until recently, the conventional wisdom has been that a blue wave powered by a huge enthusiasm gap would propel Democrats to midterm glory. But the evidence doesn’t bear that out. Yes, Democrats have won some special elections and those victories are real and should warn Republicans against complacency. But left almost totally unremarked upon is that Republican primary turnout is way up from where it was at this point in the 2014 midterm cycle. This is often the result of competitive primaries, but that underscores the vibrancy of the grass roots’ struggle to reclaim control of the party.

According to Chris Wilson at WPI Intelligence, Republican primary turnout was up 43 percent or more over 2014 in states like Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia. The president’s popularity has been rising overall but especially in these critical battleground states. In West Virginia, his approval rating was over 60 percent in 2017. That sounds more like a red wave than a blue one, especially for imperiled senators like Joe Manchin in West Virginia and Claire McCaskill in Missouri.

Yes, the victories won in 2016 can be reversed, but only by voters at the polls and not by any of the irregular means that occupy the fantasies of many people who still can’t believe that their side lost.

Y’know, it still frosts my nuts a bit that the Democrat Socialists and Leftymedia were somehow able to hang the “Red” label on the Right and misappropriate “Blue” for themselves, when they’re the ones who are truly Red in tooth and claw. That’s okay though, since it’s looking more and more like being the last smart move they’ll ever make.

Thar she blows!

All over the Klown Kar Koup plotters’ faces.

SpyGate: Just as fiery volcanoes have erupted in Guatemala and Hawaii, a volcano of another kind looks set to blow in Washington: The “investigation” into alleged Trump campaign collusion with Russia, amid new revelations of possible FBI and Justice Department deceit and misconduct and the anticipated release of the Inspector General’s report.

It might not end like the investigators had hoped.

Oh, I’d say their nefarious hopes have been dashed already. With McCabe’s offer of testimony for immunity, the stampede into turncoat ass-covering territory is well under way.

This enormously complex U.S. intelligence scandal is difficult to follow, even for the media who do so for a living. But the revelations have been adding up. As they do, they create an ever-clearer picture of massive political corruption at the DOJ, FBI and CIA.

That is, “deep state” collusion by our three main intelligence agencies, not collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

Indeed, in recent weeks, the rationale for the Trump investigation — alleged concern about Russia hacking our election — has been shredded.

What’s left is a major scandal, SpyGate as some call it. It makes Watergate look like a two-bit burglary conducted by political amateurs. Which is what it was.

That rumbling you now hear? It’s the volcano of political corruption that now is shaking the earth and set to erupt in Washington, D.C.

With any luck, the flow will immolate the very foundations of the Deep State and sweep the whole blighted mess into overdue oblivion.

Getting sporty

Solway on civil war.

This is about as serious as it gets. Sarah Hoyt at PJ Media — along with a fair number of her readers — believes America can recover its spirit without a “revolution” — a term which muddies the waters somewhat. The revolution we are witnessing is a vendible of the Left; what is needed is a counter-revolution. “Let’s hope we can recover our liberty without [a revolution],” she writes in guarded optimism. “The other side will still win some battles, but we’re winning the war.” Were it only so. Hoyt uses the metaphor of the half-empty/half-full glass, opting for the latter. The trouble is, there is no glass. Since at least the time of Woodrow Wilson, the Left has been carving longer and deeper inroads into the culture and the political landscape, and is now occupying the citadel. It is not about to go away or shrivel into a benign archaism. Despite the election of a people’s candidate like Donald Trump, the Left’s power continues to grow and consolidate.

Realism must finally prevail. The battle for the nation’s survival as a constitutional republic cannot be won until the domestic Left is torn root and branch from the body politic. As David Horowitz writes, “It would be a healthy development for everyone, rich and poor alike, if future generations put Karl Marx’s manifesto on the same sinister shelf as Mein Kampf and other destructive products of the human soul.” One may justly view the Manifesto as a synecdoche for the Left in toto, itself, collectively speaking, a destructive product of the human soul.

Clearly, the Executive Branch is profoundly compromised. Trump cannot rely on praetorian agencies like the FBI, the DoJ, the DNI and the CIA, which have gone rogue and are part of the swamp he promised to drain. Public sentiment is fractured. The Washington elites, as Peter Schweizer reveals in Secret Empires, are hopelessly corrupt and are more preoccupied with preserving their clandestine profits than with preserving the Republic. A decadent media would flood the nation with headlines, editorials, and reports claiming an alt-right takeover of the nation. The so-called Deep State continues to pursue a policy of conspiratorial subversion, conducting what is nothing less than a planned emeut; the intrigue “to undo the results of an election,” writes Patricia McCarthy, “is the most serious, most villainous political scandal in American history.”

What, then, are the alternatives? America now has a president who, despite his personal flaws — and what president has been without blemishes of character? — his tempestuous administration and the wall-to-wall barrage of denunciation, slander, lies, unmitigated hatred and surreptitious attempts at delegitimation, represents the best hope since Reagan for righting the foundering ship of state. As Thomas O’Malley fears, a racially diverse and politically divided country like the U.S. is not likely to survive, but may in time undergo a violent break-up into several independent demographic units, as happened in Yugoslavia. It follows that a nation in the throes of an infrared insurgency must act without hesitation to ensure its existential integrity. But Trump may not be able to do it by conventional initiatives or normal institutional means alone and certainly not by intemperate tweeting. The canker has gone so deep, penetrating to the very marrow of the nation, that there are few doable ways to “take back the culture.”

None at all that I can see, but hey, I don’t know everything. Solway ponders the possibilities in Part 2:

In any event, it seems to me that only some form of determined action by the current administration can prevent the future dissolution of the country. Here it is important to be specific. For there is little point in merely describing or deploring a dire situation unless one furnishes proposals for empirical action. The sources of Leftist activism and recruitment are both multiple and ubiquitous and must be met head-on.

Ergo, the academy, from which the ideological contamination has emerged and spread, should be selectively defunded. A sectarian press and accessory internet sites, which are not “free” but propaganda arms of the Marxist axis — American Pravda, as James O’Keefe calls it — need to be prosecuted for flagrantly violating the SPJ Code of Ethics. Organizations that have proliferated for decades with the intent of sabotaging a constitutional republic — the ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Planned Parenthood, among an innumerable host — must be disbanded.

Similarly, powerful corporations that use their wealth and influence to eviscerate the economic, social, cultural and political structures meant to sustain a strong and prosperous nation — such corporations as the Tides Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the infamous Clinton Foundation — have to be neutralized, and individuals whose billions go to fund the revolutionary enemies of the Republic and foment schism and turmoil must be arrested, deported or extradited.

In addition, guerilla outfits like Antifa need to be declared domestic terrorists and face the might of a loyal military. Groups that play the racist card to extort illegitimate advantages and sow discord should be put on notice. UN-supporting globalists need to go the way of desuetude along with an anti-American anachronism like the UN itself. The U.S. should deal diplomatically with nations on an individual basis rather than subsidize a Wilsonesque institution mired in corruption and Security Council obstructionism. The Democratic Party and their assorted Republican allies should be exposed for the oligarchic fifth column they are.

Let us not mince words. Desperate times call for desperate measures failing which the writing is lividly on the wall. There is no compromising with an enemy for whom compromise is not in its arsenal. The lure of reconciliation is a mirage in the cultural desert. Gradually healing what is irremediably broken is pure wish-fulfilment. In short, however the task is definitively undertaken, the Swamp must be drained and the Deep State deep-sixed if the licit State is to survive.

My boldface above is key: unlikely as it may seem and as tall an order as it is, Trump is the only guy I see out there who might conceivably do it. Should he fail, real Americans will be demoralized; the Deep State will seize upon that to reassert itself, grabbing power so tightly and weilding the machinery of the Superstate so ruthlessly it can never be dislodged or credibly threatened again except by outright violent rebellion.

But here’s the hopeful thing, if hopeful it is: the methods by which his enemies now seek to thwart and bring Trump down are so brutish and brazen they carry within them the seeds of their own destruction. No serious, honest person can look at what’s been going on and fail to see what’s really happening: an all-out, no-holds-barred fight to illegitimately undo an election. The only question left is whether we sit back and let it happen—not behind closed doors, but very much in our faces. I keep thinking about Ed Koch’s old line: “The people have spoken. Now they must be punished.” He meant something a bit different by it, but that is EXACTLY, LITERALLY what’s going on here.

It seems pretty clear to me that Trump is headed for a resounding win in 2020, unless the Left manages to murder him before then (and don’t think for one second they’d balk at such a thing). If you think the Left has gone bugfuck nuts now, just wait till that happens. Weeks of violent urban rioting will only be the start of it.

It’s a vain hope to think the Left will somehow come to their senses, moderate their position, and agree to leave us the hell alone. They intend to win, and to regain total control over us by any means they can contrive. We cannot allow that to happen. Things are rapidly coming to a head; something has to give. And it’s going to, probably sooner rather than later.

As Solway says, this is about as serious as it gets. If martial law and a forceful crackdown on inarguably seditious Lefty groups is what it will take to restore lawful order and allow Trump to get on with his mandate of righting the errant ship of state and getting it back on its proper course, best get on with it then. No, such a flexing of federal muscle ain’t something anybody on our side should be completely comfortable with. But the alternative is either slavery…or war. If the Left is to be stopped relatively non-violently, wringing our hands over Muh Principles!™ isn’t going to do the job. We’re going to have to use every tool in the drawer, including some that are hazardous if misused. We won’t get another chance.

Same old story, same old song and dance

Nothing new under the sun, folks.

Trump hasn’t provided evidence to support these allegations,

He doesn’t have to. Comey, Mueller, and the rest of the Klown Kar Koup posse already did it for him. But Politico gotta Politico, I guess.

but regardless of their veracity, there is precedent for an American intelligence agency spying on a presidential campaign. It happened in the summer of 1964; the target was Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater, and the perpetrator was the CIA, not the FBI.

…After (E Howard) Hunt’s revelations were leaked to the press, Sen. Goldwater told Washington Post reporters that during the 1964 campaign, he had come to believe he was being spied on. “I just assumed it was one man or two men assigned at the direction of the President…It never bothered me,” he said. “I guess it should have, but knowing Johnson as I did, I never got upset about it.” Goldwater never suggested that the CIA’s spying had cost him the election.

Even in the heat of the ’64 campaign, as he thought he was being spied on, Goldwater never mentioned his concerns publicly, and even insisted that his aides kept quiet. Going public with the allegations would have distracted attention from his agenda, and absent any proof that surveillance was actually happening, complaints about being spied upon would’ve likely reinforced the common perception that he was paranoid.

It’s a very different course of action than the one President Trump is taking today.

And for that, we can all be thankful.

This story serves as a powerful reminder that our rogue Deep State juggernaut didn’t jump its tracks overnight, and that none of this began with Obama, corrupt tyrant though he was.

Update! The Three Stooges of Spygate. Their laughable incompetence is another thing we can all be thankful for.

Backstory update! Codevilla was part of the group that wrote FISA? Wow. I had no idea.

The events of the past two years have confirmed the objections to FISA I stated in 1978: pre-clearance of wiretaps by a court that operates secretly, ex parte, and that is agnostic on national security matters, is an irresistible temptation to the party in power and its friends in the intelligence agencies to use the law to spy against their political opponents—that is, to do Watergate legally.

FISA was a bad idea, made worse after 9/11 by the addition of Section 702. It is a license to collect and use electronic data on Americans, so long as that collection is claimed to be “incidental” in the collection of data relating to foreigners. Since the claiming is done in secret, and the yearly court review can be finessed, officials’ self-restraint is all that keeps Section 702 itself from being an abuse. Item 17, “about queries,” specifically authorizes the collection of emails and phone calls of “U.S. persons.”

9/11 was certainly bad enough. But looking back, it seems that its aftermath was even worse, at least in terms of the long-term damage done to our rights, our liberty, and any expectation of privacy. Codevilla digs deep and provides some fascinating inside dope with this one, winding up here:

Recall that in 1947 the main objection to establishing the CIA was the widespread fear that, someday, its espionage would be used against Americans. That is why CIA was given no powers of arrest, why its agents would operate only abroad, and only against foreign targets. But from the very first, CIA officials, from the top down, have thought of themselves as entitled to transcend the role of lookouts for the ship of state. They have identified with and built relationships with policymakers, and placed their hands on the wheel as best they could.

The FBI used to be very different. CIA people looked down on the bureau’s “cop mentality.” But, gradually, the top levels of FBI started thinking of themselves as do those up the river: as partners with policymakers, fellow policymakers.

Just as important, a large part of these agencies—certainly the most personally successful one—absorbed and was absorbed by the ethos of the ruling class, the chief item of which is a sense of rightful superiority over the rest of Americans. The sense of entitlement to power, of the right and duty to do whatever it takes to defend it against bad people whom despicable Americans might elect or have elected, followed naturally.

There’s a nugget of truth in every cliche; it’s why they become cliches in the first place. That includes this one: power corrupts. Onwards.

Now the alternatives are all too clear: either those who have taken America across these red lines are punished severely, and with bipartisan approval—in which case we may return to a politically neutral national security establishment. If they are not, the national security apparatus is sure to become the queen in the nation’s political chessboard.

I can’t see that first option happening: if they’re punished at all, it won’t be “severely,” and most certainly won’t be “with bipartisan approval.” Observing the Left’s on-a-dime about-face from neverending horror and outrage over Watergate to their blase disinterest in Obamagate—along with its jaw-slackening switch from deep mistrust and even loathing for the FBI and CIA to reverence for their integrity and trustworthiness—makes that much all too obvious.

So Codevilla’s first alternative is impossible, and the second is unacceptable. My own opinion is that the Obamagate outrage against every last thing the country is supposed to stand for has set wheels in motion that will move us in wholly unexpected directions, winding up with that Great Reckoning I keep yammering on about—a reckoning which could easily turn out to be catastrophic.

Socialism works!

In one way, and one way only.

How To Become A Third World Country

Yep, it’s the one thing socialism does really, really well. The author uses Venezuela as a dismal example of the essential truth before setting another hook:

Could Maduro really have that kind of support among the people even as the economy collapses and millions are starving?  Or is something else going on here? I’m sure that many factors are in play. But clearly one of the most important factors, if not the most important, is the game of using the state prosecutorial apparatus to bring trumped-up criminal investigations and charges against the main political rivals to get them out of the way.

Hm. Sounds sorta…familiar, no?

Now, which is the more preposterous basis for siccing the state investigative forces on the main opposition candidate: (1) claiming “instigation” of a riot via explicit calls for peaceful protest, or (2) claiming “collusion” with Russia? Seems like a close call to me. At least our prosecutors didn’t go through with an actual prosecution to take the opposition candidate out in advance of the election. But that’s probably because they didn’t think they had to.

Nope. They were dead certain they’d win with Her Herness, and none of their Obamagate skullduggery would ever be exposes to the disinfecting light of day. And with Komey’s Klown-Kar Koup, they’ve done their feeble best to take Trump out after the fact. If Trump is unsuccessful at de-lousing the joint, look for them to try harder next time. As I’ve said all along: the Deep State ain’t going down without a fight.
