One of the most despicable pieces of absurdist hyperbole to be excreted by an America-hating Democrat ratbag in my lifetime:

Compare that case to the case of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who organized the attacks of 9/11. He was held in a secret prison, where he claims he was tortured severely. Whether he is lying or not, by our actions we have allowed Khalid Mohammed to claim the moral high ground. Khalid Mohammed plays martyr to a world that is inclined to believe it.

And why exactly are they so inclined, you filthy bastard? Might it be not because BushCo is the evil empire you’ve misrepresented it as to the world, but because you and your ethically-challenged, power-grubbing colleagues on the anti-American side of the aisle have gone far beyond the bounds of any sort of patriotic decency in your blowhard rhetoric, offering aid and comfort to America’s enemies by reciting a paranoiac’s nightmare of lunatic accusations against the current Administration, while taking every preposterous utterance by any tinpot dictator or flea-bitten terrorist murderer at face value?

Senator Dodd, you are a repellent piece of weasel dung, and ought to be truly, deeply ashamed. For any American — much less a person in a position of supposed responsibility, much less a Senator, much less a man running for our nation’s highest office — to vomit forth tripe like this is, if not outright treasonous, then far too near it for close-mouthed acceptance. It is also, simply put, intolerable and unacceptable.

What IS it with New England Democrat politicians, anyway? Are they all this sleazy and amoral?

I mean, think of it, folks: this sorry, disgusting excuse for an American, this paragon of human decency, just told us all that we are now the moral inferiors of the man who cold-bloodedly plotted the murder of three thousand of our countrymen, and who boasts of personally sawing off journalist Daniel Pearl’s head with a kitchen knife.

Well, screw you, Dodd. The only moral equivalence worth discussing here is your own, with the terrorists you so guilefully seek to promote sympathy for in order to advance your own political career — a career which, were the Democrat base not made up mostly of politically and historically illiterate imbeciles susceptible to the sort of abominable palaver you are now so disgracefully proffering, would be well, truly, and permanently over.

And were you ever to have the unmitigated gall to make so scurvy a pronouncement about me to my face, I promise you I wouldn’t hesitate a moment before punching you square in your diarrheic mouth.

Update! Joe Lieberman: the last truly honorable New England Dem?

He accused liberal Web logs of peddling a “conspiracy theory,” namely that the legislation was a back door authorization for war. Also, without naming names, he said some of his colleagues who had voted against it said they agreed with its substance, but told the senator, “We don’t trust Bush. He’ll use this resolution as an excuse for war against Iran.”

Mr. Lieberman concluded, “There is something profoundly wrong-something that should trouble all of us — when we have elected Democratic officials who seem more worried about how the Bush administration might respond to Iran’s murder of our troops, than about the fact that Iran is murdering our troops.”

Bless you, Joe. We don’t agree on everything, but at least you’re a decent, patriotic American. Which is more than an odious, detestable worm like Chris Dodd will ever be able to say.

Updated update! Bryan Preston says it well:

But even if we had stripped KSM naked and paraded him through downtown Karachi on sandals made of steak knives, Khalid Sheik Mohammed cannot claim any moral high ground from anyone. He masterminded Operation Bojinka, which was intended to kill hundreds of innocent people who were doing nothing more than flying on airplanes. And KSM masterminded 9-11, the wanton killing of nearly 3,000 innocents in an unprovoked act of war on our country. Based on his long career as a terrorist bent on killing as many kuffirs as he can, Khalid Sheik Mohammed can’t claim the moral high ground from the devil himself, much less the United States of America. KSM is filth in human form. And Dodd is taking his side.

I can’t even describe how sick I am of Democrats and liberals engaging in this kind of dishonest hyperbole just to score points with the nutroots. It’s psychotic, how far Dodd is willing to go in this quote and in the entire post to vent his disagreements with the administration’s conduct of the war. It’s also dangerous. Quotes such as Dodd’s hearten the enemy by showing them that we’re divided and at each other’s throats.

A. Fucking. Men. It isn’t only Dodd that ought to be ashamed of himself here, either; the dolts that elected him, and the party that will most likely refuse to offer up so much as a syllable of condemnation but will instead seek to change the subject, ought to shoulder some of the ignominy, too. Lord knows there’s plenty to go around.
