Good on ya: Clinton slams Truther maggots
AP says, with almost palpable “heartache,” the thing that must be said here:
“Must we give credit to Billy Jeff, big A?” My friends, we must.
…I like to imagine him delivering that with the same fiery resolve as his famous “Miss Lewinsky” line. (Which, er, was a lie.) Question: Besides Newt, has any prominent politician on either side dismissed these cretins so emphatically?
Not that I can recall, which is an important reason why, no matter how we despise the man — and we rightly do — we must give credit where it’s due. He said precisely the right thing, when he could just as easily and profitably have pandered to the now-mainstream Nutroots. In fact, given his/their rapacious guile, combined with a boundless and amoral facility for political calculation, it’s surprising that Bill didn’t recognize Hillary’s need for shoring up her Nutroots support and at least try to suck up some of that sweet, sweet Loon Love. Grudgingly but sincerely, I offer a doff of the CF cap to The Creep on this one. It ain’t quite enough to get him out of “The Loony Left” and into the “The Loyal Opposition” category, but I did think about it. And honestly, that’s as close to it as he’s ever likely to get.
Now hold your breath waiting for any Nutroots blogger to give any non-RINO Republican credit for anything. Ever. Not to break our arms patting ourselves on the back or anything here, but that too must be said.
