Step by step, inch by inch Part the Second

June 5th, 2007

What, you figured dhimmitude would come crashing down on our heads all at once? Nope, it’ll arrive via the same incrementalist route all that Lefty PC crap we’re currently weighed down by did. And as it happens, this story pretty well covers both those bases:

In killer heels and little else, they have a definite deadly charm.

But the risque images of women that have decorated warplanes since the First World War have been scrubbed out.

The Ministry of Defence has decreed they could offend the RAF’s female personnel.

Officials admitted they had no record of any complaints from the 5,400 women in the RAF.

Well, no, of course not. But say it with me, kids: IF EVEN ONE WYMYRNS IS OFFENDED…

There was also concern that they could cause offence in a muslim country where until 2001 all women were forced to wear the head-to-toe burkha in public.

Well, naturally. Maybe the pinups could be replaced with a drawing of Jesus hanging upside down by his ‘nads, or being beheaded, or something like. I’m sure that’d be okay with these dickless drones; after all, they know Xtians don’t immediately go out and start carving people up when they get offended.

Conservative MP Phillip Davies said: “Has the MoD really got nothing better to worry about at a time when there are serious concerns over equipment and resources available to our forces in Iraq and Afghanistan?”

Hey, what could possibly be more important than taking advantage of an opportunity to knuckle under to radical Islam AND promote political-correctness at the exact same time? It’s the ultimate Leftard win-win! Priorities, man!

Y’know, maybe the libs have had it right all along; at this point, I’m beginning to wonder myself whether the West is really worth bothering to even try to defend. I mean, who in tarnation could really give a tinker’s dam about fighting to save such a weepy, wimpy culture of namby-pamby pissants from their own twee milksoppery? Allahpundit says, “Eh, it’s not worthing fighting about.” He doesn’t mean it in the larger sense, I’m sure, but I’m leaning more that way with every passing day, myself.

Bah.

I've always wondered how these things happen. Not from a policy sense, or a, "Why do we let these things happen," POV, but more of a, "What was the reaction in the meeting room when the idea was first floated?" or "How did people respond when they first read the memo?" THAT's a hidden-camera documentary I'd watch.
Do people all vote yes for this stuff because they are afraid to vote against it? Does no one want to be the jerk who says, "*#^ sensitivity?"

Although, to tweak the noses of both sides a bit, I would be even more interested in hearing the debate the first team a gay member of the RAF tried to paint a pin-up boy on the side of a Harrier... And oh to watch a mullah's reaction to that one.

Right, we don't want to offend our enemies. That would be too much.

On the other hand, if someone is willing to go all jihad over this, then perhaps it is best that we get all that out in the open right away and find out who these people are and exactly where they live.

Think about it - You get all the young men together and lead them into a room.

    "Name?"
    "Jamil."
A scantily clad girl steps into the room. "What do you think?"
    "Jihad!"
    "Go into room A."

    "Name?"
    "Ali."
The same girl. "What do you think?"
"Want to go to a movie?"
    "Go into room B."

Those in room A get hit with a death-ray. Those in room B get a date for the movies. And if they buy popcorn, they get a second date.

Gotta sort out the civilizable from the hopeless somehow, or its just nukes - and I hate sunscreen.
