3…2…1…
Well, it looks like the Left will lose one of their heroic icons a bit sooner than expected:
Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, sentenced to death for his role in 148 killings in 1982, will have his sentence carried out by Sunday, NBC News reported Thursday. According to a U.S. military officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, Saddam will be hanged before the start of the Eid religious holiday, which begins at sundown Saturday.
The hanging could take place as early as Friday, NBC’s Richard Engel reported.
Iraqis are lining up for the opportunity to jump on his shoulders and tug sharply on his ankles once he’s harnessed up — just to make sure. And you know as well as I do that there will be candlelight vigils and anti-death penalty protests and such-like held here and there. And you know as well as I do who it is that’ll be holding ‘em.
Condolences to slackjawed drooling idiots like Michael Moore and other Western liberals, who continue to insist that Iraqis were better off back when the monster was feeding them into plastic shredders and gassing them to death with those nonexistent WMDs. I know how devastating this must be for you.
Update! What’d I say?
Updated update! Via Bill: the pious, grandstanding dolts just can’t seem to help themselves.

Happy new year in Hell, motherfucker! Of course, this is coming 3 years too late. I would have preferred a quick interrogation, a short tribunal, and then a public execution, all within 3 weeks of his being captured.
My only regret is that he won't end up tied to a lamp post like Mussolini.
