Rock, hard place

Down to brass tacks with Jules Crittendon:

The AP, of course, has been delivering unbalanced reports about U.S. national politics for some time, as when President Bush, whom AP reporters despise, is barely allowed to state his case on an issue before his critics are given twice as much space to pummel him. The AP, once a just-the-facts news delivery service, has lost its rudder. It has become a partisan, anti-American news agency that seeks to undercut a wartime president and American soldiers in the field. It is providing fraudulent, shoddy goods. It doesn’t even recognize it has a problem.

This is the point at which, another big American industry learned, people start buying Japanese.

True, dat. Trouble is, Back in ‘75 or ‘6, Toyota and Datsun weren’t making heavyweight gas hogs themselves, and as such, an actual competitive entity did in fact exist for the American Big Three. AP’s “competition” –Reuters, AFP, *gag* Al Jazeera — is just as dishonest, partisan, and anti-American as AP is, if not worse.

Not to even mention the biggest problem of all: most of the MSM has no problem at all with the AP’s disgustingly unethical practices; they’ve got enough beam in their own eyes on that one to roof a stadium.

Update! The NYT proves my assessment correct by closing ranks with the pro-jihadist frauds at the AP. But Curt ain’t letting ‘em get away with it. And neither is AP — the reliable, honest one, that is.

Updated update! Wretchard, as is his wont, delves deeper.

I think you just described a "circle jerk".
