“But, Bushitler Did It Too!”
From a CNN “Poll”:
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington has risen from almost a third to almost half over the past four years, a CNN poll released Monday found.
Asked whether they blame the Bush administration for the attacks, 45 percent said either a “great deal” or a “moderate amount,” up from 32 percent in a June 2002 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll.
But the Clinton administration did not get off lightly either. The latest poll, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, found that 41 percent of respondents blamed his administration a “great deal” or a “moderate amount” for the attacks.
That’s only slightly less than the 45 percent who blamed his administration in a poll carried out less than a week after the attacks.
Still, most Americans appear to be fatalistic, with more than half — 57 percent — saying they think that terrorists will “always find a way to launch attacks no matter what the U.S. government does.”
The poll was carried out August 30 through September 2 by Opinion Research Corp. with 1,004 American adults questioned by telephone. The sampling error for the questions was 3 percentage points.
I greatly admire how they tried so hard to be objective with reporting these poll results (no I don’t).
However, I find the release of this poll not so much suspect, as I do disengenous.
Cnn, conveniently, chose to release this poll not only on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, but also right around the same time the ABC Film, The Path to 9/11, was aired.
The moonbats wailed about ABC excercising its Freedom of Speech so loud and hard, you’d have thought they were being forced over a table by Karl Rove, and not given the courtesy of a reach-around.
People were beginning to pay attention to the dems hissy fit–just in time to see the democratic leadership threaten governmental retaliation…
…So a bit of damage control was in order…we can’t have anyone thinking that anyone other than Bush is responsible for 9/11…
Personally, I think polls are a bunch of pseudo-scientific bullshit used to spread propaganda and put ideas into the heads of the so called “undecided” votor who is too oblivious to the world to figure out for themselves what to believe. Their sheep mentality directs them to follow the largest flock…The poll said 46 percent of Americans feel the president is doing a poor job, so it must be true! NYuknyuk!
Questions in a poll can be so easily manipulated, I bet I could poll Mac users on their feelings about Bill Gates and spin it positive…
There are right around 300 million people living in this country and you expect me to believe that a phone sampling of 1,004 adults accurately represents a totality of sentiments concerning a specific subject or demographic?
…And before you wannabe scientists start gnashing your needle teeth at me, allow me to say, piss off.
I doubt very seriously that any independent sources studied this recent poll and followed their methodology to see if they could reproduce similar results, and I HIGHLY doubt that there were any so-called legions of fact-checkers and checks and balances scrutinizing this poll for accuracy…’cuz you know…journalists are more prefessional/reliable than bloggers and umm…stuff…:P
Meh.

of course, ymmv
