Blind Squirrel Finds Nut…Realizes It Is Friend

August 8th, 2006

Well, hallelujah!  No kiddin’ Lanny!  Where ya been buddy?!?  Finally smelling the coffee, huh?  Well better late than never.  Of course, Jim Sleeper tried to tell you stuff like this on your watch but no one was very interested.

Eh, never mind, you were probably a little busy around that time, huh?  All those TV appearances and whatnot.  We all get a little busy sometimes.

Good to see when common sense strikes.  Try not to make it so infrequently, OK?

Update from Mike! Man, I just love this bit, from LD’s article:

This kind of scary hatred, my dad used to tell me, comes only from the right wing–in his day from people such as the late Sen. Joseph McCarthy, with his tirades against “communists and their fellow travelers.” The word “McCarthyism” became a red flag for liberals, signifying the far right’s fascistic tactics of labeling anyone a “communist” or “socialist” who favored an active federal government to help the middle class and the poor, and to level the playing field.

Or, in other words, the far right’s fascistic tactics of labeling anyone a “communist” or “socialist” who favored, y’know, communism or socialism.

How’s that foot tasting anyway, you disingenuous idiot? Like I keep saying, the worst thing you can do to ‘em is point out the truth about ‘em. They HATE when you do that.

The McCarthyites are still runnin' loose:

This morning on Fox News, Newt Gingrich claimed there is a "legitimate insurgency in Connecticut, which needs to be met head on," made up of people who say Iraq "is so hard, it is so frightening, it's so painful, can't we come home and hide?" Gingrich said that if the "insurgency" wins, "it will be the beginning of extraordinarily important period in American politics, and in American history."

Newt is misguided. I say we can't possibly have enough of that kind of insurgency. I am with them 110%. To quote a Great American, "Bring. It. On."

I, for one, welcome our new overlords.

Um... labeling anyone who favored an active federal government to "help" the middle class and poor by redistributing the wealth of those willing to work for a living a socialist? That's what it means, fer chrissakes. Level the playing field, my ass.

Fascistic? Try honest. Jeez. I find no small amount of amusement in the fact that the left just love to pull the 'ol "fascist" name tag out of the hat whenever someone calls them on their nonsense.

Evidently they missed the fact that the most infamous political group in history, the Nazis, were socialists, who often touted the benefits of "leveling" the playing field.

I find it intensely ironic that the Left has managed to label the Nazi's "fascists" when in fact they were very socialist.

As Ann Coulter has pointed out many times, (and I have yet to see a Leftard challenge this on the merits, though that would be refreshing): Nixon and McCarthy underestimated the number of filthy communist agents infiltrating our government.

They were true American Heroes, and the Left hates them above all others for that.
