Let’s play a round of Guess Who Said It, shall we?

“Also in the presidential campaign, there’s a whole new twist tonight to negative campaigning on television. [...] In this case, the broadside is being delivered at the behest of a well-connected major broadcaster.”

Now you might be forgiven for thinking that this could be some major-media personage finally deigning to slam Rather and CBS in the wake of Memogate. You might, that is, if you were born last night, or just fell off the turnip truck, or are a Democrat. But you’d be failing to take into account the brass, the chutzpah, the gall, the astonishing church-bell-size balls of Democrat propagandist blowhard Dan Rather.

What a complete putz.

Update! Despite the dedicated efforts of Joshua Micah Bonana Fanna Fo Ficah Marshall, Rather remains unreprimanded.

    Why would this suprise you?

    S.O.P.

Do something, ignore all accusations that you did it, and blame the OTHER GUY for doing the thing you just did.

Oh, it's not surprising at all, really. But I can't help but marvel at Rather's capacity for hypocrisy, which seems to grow daily. He ought to be in some kind of record book somewhere.

Rathergate.com naturally is on top of things and provides an easy way to send e-mail to CBS affiliates and to CBS advertisers.

As said on that site, "Be polite, non-partisan, and brief."

Calm down, CBS is investigating Rather. It took NBC a few months to finish it's investigation into the Dateline people who done made the trucks blow-up, so a lengthy investigation is nothing new.

My bet is that they put him out to pasture after the election.

I'm sorry, I can't calm down. WE HAVE TO GO AFTER THEIR ADVERTISERS! Don't you understand, even if they make Rather emeritus, the CBS system will go on. At least since 1960 CBS has been in the Dem camp, every four years. I have had enough. WE HAVE TO GO AFTER THEIR ADVERTISERS!
