In Memorium

May 31st, 2004

On Memorial Day I think a lot about my Dad. He put in 20 years in the Air Force as a pilot, Korea and Vietnam. And I think about my Grandpa, Navy in both World Wars. And my father-in-law, Army in WW2. All dead now, but not forgotten. Still loved, in many cherished memories. No finer men have lived.

And I think about my nephew, serving right now, following their path. Semper Fi has a special meaning to a Marine whose family has served our country, in every war, and in peace, since the Revolution.

God bless you guys. And all our brave military men and women.

Update! Tacjammer , a fellow North State blogger, has many more thoughts in a roundup of Memorial Day observations.
