WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder is defending his decision to put the professed Sept. 11 mastermind on trial in New York — and urging critics of the plan not to cower in the face of terrorists.

And there Holder goes again, with his patented “nation of cowards” crap. Irony is apparently something these pissypants liberals just do NOT get at all — at least when it applies to them. Embed update! Allahpundit’s got their “cowards” bushwa — swingin’. From a ten-penny nail.

President Barack Obama, meanwhile, said Wednesday that those offended by the legal privileges being given to Mohammed by trying him in a civilian court ultimately won’t find it “offensive at all when he’s convicted and when the death penalty is applied to him.”

Ah. So all that guff from this tool about showing the world how fair and wondrous is our criminal justice system was just bullshit, then; instead, it’s to be show trials in a kangaroo court, with the outcome a foregone conclusion, and every last Constitutional protection for the rights of American citizens put to the torch as an “unintended” consequence.

Obama added that he did not mean to suggest he was prejudging the outcome of Mohammed’s trial. “I’m not going to be in that courtroom,” he said. “That’s the job of the prosecutors, the judge and the jury.” He made the comment in one of a series of TV interviews during his trip to Asia.

Ah. So he’s a doubletalking douchebag, then; a con artist trying to have it both ways, politicizing the trial of a fanatical enemy of this nation so as to see his favorite whipping boy (and real enemy) — the previous administration — pilloried in open court. Meanwhile, he’ll be jeopardizing intelligence sources along the way; emboldening KSM’s successor-killers with a priceless example of the moral discombobulation and weak-willed pussification of our liberal “leadership”; and demoralizing our defenders, while he maintains his pious above-the-fray pose and passes the buck back to Bush for the disasters that can, will, and must follow this outrage.

How many faces does the fork-tongued grifter have, anyway?

“I think this notion that we have to be fearful that these terrorists possess some special powers that prevent us from presenting evidence against them, locking them up and exacting swift justice, I think that has been a fundamental mistake,” Obama said in an interview with CNN.

“Swift justice,” is it? Everyone with half a brain in his or her head knows that, as with the Moussai fiasco, it’ll be a good five years before this joke of a farce of a circus will even get to opening arguments. By the time KSM finally walks on a technicality, a good many of us who still remember 9/11 will probably be dead already. Which is probably just what notmypResident Obullshitartist has in mind.

Opponents of the plan, including Holder’s predecessor Michael Mukasey, have accused him of adopting a “pre-9/11″ approach to terrorism.

Holder emphatically denies that.

“We are at war, and we will use every instrument of national power — civilian, military, law enforcement, intelligence, diplomatic and others — to win,” Holder says.

Liar. We are halfheartedly fighting a war liberals have opposed from the start, despite their contrary politically-expedient declarations; our ruling junta is dismantling every vestige of national power — military, economic, and philosophical; and Obullshitartist has already expressed his disinterest in any notion of victory.

Y’know, there is a bright side here, believe it or not: the whole typically-chaotic mess our shady, shoddy, slithering Current Occupant has created is going to blow up in his face. And when it does, it’s going to blast the Democrat Socialist Party out of the electoral picture for at least a generation, when real Americans get a good hard look at what a miserable burlesque they make of this “trial.” Every toxic boast and threat from KSM’s filthy maw is going to ring in Americans’ ears for a good while, and they’re going to remember that the people responsible for it have a -D after their names in the papers. All of us ought to do everything we can to be sure it’s hung around their necks permanently; their destruction is the only real justice even remotely likely to result from this jester’s pass.

Update! On reflection, it occurs to me that I got something wrong here. KSM isn’t going to walk on a technicality. He’s going to walk on having the Constitutional protections American citizens enjoy extended to him — not merely a non-citizen, but an illegal enemy combatant engaged in a hot war whose goal is the destruction of the very system that is now going to provide him with the grandest of stages from whence to issue forth his poison.

It’s either that, or those protections will be dispensed with, now and for all time, for all of us. And golly gee willickers, I just can’t believe Obama — communist, Chicago hack, thuggish strongarmer of corporate execs and opposition Congresspersons, dispatcher of goon squads to beat down dissidents, liar; a man who never met a despot whose ass he wouldn’t smooch or a democratic ally he wouldn’t obnoxiously insult and degrade — would want that.

No, seriously (okay, not really), here’s another thing: apparently, liberals have done an awkward pirouette and now believe that American Constitutional guarantees of freedom and due process are extensible not just to all US citizens, but to people all over the world. With that in mind, from here on out do we refer to them as neocons, American exceptionalists, chauvinist xenophobes, or just what?

Or is it more that they think our laws and rights apply not to all the people of the world, but just to Muslim terrorists? Help me out here, somebody; I’m mystified by all this nuance and sophistication.
