In pursuit of an Eagle Scout badge, Kevin Anderson, 17, has toiled for more than 200 hours hours over several weeks to clear a walking path in an east Allentown park.
Little did the do-gooder know that his altruistic act would put him in the cross hairs of the city’s largest municipal union.
Nick Balzano, president of the local Service Employees International Union, told Allentown City Council Tuesday that the union is considering filing a grievance against the city for allowing Anderson to clear a 1,000-foot walking and biking path at Kimmets Lock Park../74; gtt
“We’ll be looking into the Cub Scout or Boy Scout who did the trails,” Balzano told the council.
Oh, I’m sure you will, you vicious ratbag. I’d guess the least the kid can expect is a Joe The Plumber-esque anal probe from you guardians of civic rectitude. Or a Palin-esque Zombie Media one.

One of the men attacked is 62 years old. Dave Caulkett of FLIMEN (Floridians for Immigration Enforcement) is assaulted and then kicked in the face while he is down. The other camera man from the Tea Party is hit with several signs.
Those attacking the Americans that oppose Amnesty for illegal aliens were organized by ANSWER Florida.
There’s video — not that it’ll matter much for purposes of litigation, since there won’t be any more interest at Il Douche’s Justice Department in prosecuting these thugs than there has been with the Gladney assault.
Hey, remember back when liberals thought crushing of dissent was a bad thing? Nah, me neither.
What I really want to know, though, is this: is it time to start exercising our Second Amendment rights yet, alongside our First? I know everybody’s been saying that the best response to these liberal-fascist Brownshirts is passivity and nonviolence, for the public-relations benefit of demonstrating for the vast mushy middle what they really are, and what we ain’t — and I don’t disagree with that. But how many beatdowns do patriotic American citizens need to take before fighting back with something more than mere words becomes not just inevitable, but actually acceptable (or at least not entirely shocking, anyway) in the court of public opinion? Anybody got any thoughts on that out there?

I have to reply to this nonsense. Back when I was growing up, I used to be smaller than most (until high school, but that's not relevant here). Being the smart, small kid apparently stenciled a "fuck me, bullies" sign onto my forehead. For several years, I kept getting my ass pushed around, shoved around and generally beaten up. Through that time, well meaning people kept telling me to "ignore them and they'll go away". Several years of ignoring assholes did not, in fact, make them go away. It merely emboldened them. It makes sense, of course: if the guy you're beating isn't fighting back, you've got no incentive to stop.
Anyway, one day I had enough and got into a fight. Unfortunately, it was right in front of a window where the teachers sat during lunch. To the office I went to get my two day suspension. However, when I came back to school, the attacks diminished. A lot. Turns out that bullies and thugs don't like prey who fight back. Instead, they seek easier, more docile victims.
Long story short: advising someone to remain passive to thugs and bullies merely invites more of the same. My son got slugged by some asshole (on stage in church, of all places) punk kid. And then a proud father got to watch his son turn around and punch the jackass twice. Hard. As I told my wife then -and she agrees with me- I will never punish my son for defending himself. No one else should ever have to take getting picked on, spit on, or punched at either. Hit back more than twice as hard. Don't worry about the PR fallout because that is entirely besides the point, which is to let the thugs know that if they screw with you, you will make them your bitch.
