Q: If They’re Social Engineers…
HOW COME THEY DON’T HAVE ENGINEERING DEGREES?
A: Because Social Engineering is a Liberal Art.
A strictly financial argument for conservatism never makes much progress with the electorate, because liberalism is presented as an explicitly moral enterprise. This is one of the big reasons it is never held to account for its practical failures. Every liberal talks up the latest huge expansion of the government as if the year is 1909, rather than 2009, and the ideas he advocates haven’t been proven disasters around the globe. Collectivist agriculture yields starvation, the trillion-dollar War on Poverty produces more poverty, political control of industries crashes those industries… and yet, it’s always Day One of the great socialist experiment, and no one has every hit on the brilliant idea of making the “rich” pay their “fair share” to fund a government crusade against want.
Peter Schweizer had a good conversation with Rep. Michele Bachmann about his book Architects of Ruin: How Big Government Liberals Wrecked the Global Economy — and How They Will Do It Again if No One Stops Them.
He pointed out how the Socially-Engineered Mortgage Debacle ended up hurting the very people it was supposed to help–for once, Women and Minorities really were Hardest Hit.
And the Socially-Engineered Weather we’re planning under the Cap & Trade Socialized Energy Rationing Plan will only produce green jobs in the same way those mortgages were produced: under the twin lashes of government coercion and subsidy, with no rational basis in the market.
And therefore, they will eventually crash, just like the housing market.
Socialized Jobs, Socialized Medicine, Socialized Mortgages, Socialized Motors, Socialized Energy, Socialized Weather.
And now, we’ve even got Socialized Terrorism. Great.
Casey Van Jones, you’d better watch your speed.
