Fire Gen. Casey and Hire Somebody Who Will Stand Up For Our Troops
This is crap:
“What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even-greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here. We have a very diverse army. We have a very diverse society. And that gives us all strength.”
General Casey should be fired if that’s the best he can do.
That’s the same lame-ass attitude that got these soldiers killed.
From the Steyn piece Mike just linked:
His fellow students complained to the faculty about Hasan’s “anti-American propaganda,” but said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim student kept officers from filing a formal written complaint.
Diversity is fine–up to a point. But not up to and including the treason this guy was spewing. That’s crazy. This sonofabitch should have been in Leavenworth, not Ft. Hood. And speaking of crazy, he was a crappy shrink, too. He should have been fired on those grounds alone.
The military services aren’t a pinko debating society like the Ivy League. They give an officer a career and command over other soldiers. They give him access to military bases and to secrets and they put a gun in his hand, teach him to use it and buy the bullets.
Asking him not to advocate treason for the privilege seems like a small price for admission.
Treason is not a lifestyle or national creed. Sedition is not a matter of pigment or national origin. We didn’t prejudge Hasan. But the Army is so choked in diversity-think, it refused to judge Hasan when judgement was demanded. Think of it; an army scared of its own Set-Aside Shadows.
And, yes, I know that excusing treason based on his Muslim background is Official Liberal Policy. And we’ve inflicted these gutless liberal politicians on the services. But when liberals get soldiers murdered for their own damn moral vanity, then officers have a duty to step up. If officers won’t raise hell for them, who will? If officers don’t get “Duty, Honor, Country”, who does?
Who?
It wasn’t a “tragedy”, either; it’s a damned outrage. The difference is “outrages” demand action and its plain that the Army doesn’t want to take action–besides sweeping up the corpses later, I mean.
Already the Ready-Made Excuse Media is already trying to push the Official Narrative(tm):
“Oh, this isn’t about radical Islam; it’s about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. All our soldiers suffer from it, you know. They’re all psychos. The major here was just another one. He could have just as well been Amish.”
If this is just mental illness, then Osama bin Laden and every other jihadist has the exact same affliction.
Maybe he just needed counseling, too. Hey–I heard it’s covered under Obamacare! I guess we could have prevented 9/11 if only we’d given bin Laden the Health Care He Deserved.
It’s a tragedy, really. A damned, diverse tragedy.
Fire Casey and Remember the Amnesia!
