Fists, firmly clenched

November 5th, 2009

The FBI already made their usual reflexive denial of any evident link to Muslim terrorism, so you know right away that it was definitely Muslim terrorism.

Major Malik Nadal Hasan. A Muslim convert, about to be deployed to Iraq, and reportedly very unhappy about that. Nah, nothing to do with the Religion of Peace, I’m sure.

You can also be sure pResident Zero is casting about desperately even now for someone to apologize to, right after he blames this on the mess he “inherited” from Bush. Screeching all over the Moonbatosphere about Teabagger Terrorism and Wingnut!™ violence to commence immediately.

Kinda makes the gays-in-the-military, don’t-ask-don’t-tell wrangling look like small potatoes, don’t it?

Update! A Hot Air commenter nails the attendant irony: “Upset about being deployed to Iraq, so he decides to wage war on an American army base.”

All best wishes for recovery to the wounded, and all sincere condolences to the families of the dead.

Updated update! An Army shrink? Jeez. We are well beyond irony now, folks, and edging into Kafkaesque territory.

Spade a spade update! Everywhere you look, “tragedy, tragedy, tragedy.” Whatever happened to words like “infamy,” “outrage,” “despicable act,” “heinous crime,” and “atrocity,” anyway?

See above update! Matt says it:

This is not a rampage but premeditated and cowardly murder. And, quite frankly, appears to target families by hitting the PX and theater in the middle of the afternoon (although in the military, post theaters are often used as classrooms or briefing platforms).

Prayers going out to Fort Hood.

Amen to that.

I think that the shootings are an attack on US soil. I think that Major Malik was a sleeper agent, and someone sent him an oder to attack people at Ft. Hood especially the predeployment troops. If you can get enemy troops off balance before they even arrive at the battlefield, I think you have gotten an advantage.

Even if he wasn't a trained sleeper agent under an Al Qaeda handler, he was a self-identified member of their tribe...and as a psychiatrist he knew he would be inflicting terror and mistrust among soldiers and their families at a time when they were already stressing about separation and deployment.

Damn his soul to the deepest coldest hell, wrapped in bacon.

They did not even get it right that Hasan is still alive. He's someone's sleeper alright, but whose? Paranoia should run rampant for awhile on the military bases. God protect our troops and damn those who did this. I fear this is a beginning and not an end.

Thank you for pointing out the weasely, innaccurate use of the word "tragedy" this time, like every time, some scumbag commits an atrocity.

"Prayers going out to Fort Hood."

Aren't prayers what got us into this mess to begin with?
