The Grand Project, revealed

September 9th, 2009

First person to insinuate that Obama didn’t know about, or is not fully on board with, the execrable ideas of his maniac science commissar deserves a good swift kick in the ass:

HOLDREN: There has been a strain of what many people call “US exceptionalism” in the United States, the notion that the United States is so big, so important, so powerful, so technologically advanced that it can and should do what it wants. I think this strain is misguided.

Q: Will Americans need to reduce their living standards? Is that politically viable, or will technology [unintelligible] do it?

H: I think ultimately that the rate of growth of material consumption is going to have to come down, and there’s going to have to be a degree of redistribution of how much we consume, in terms of energy and material resources, in order to leave room for people who are poor to become more prosperous.

Van Jones was only a drop in a very, very deep well. And at this late date, I really don’t see how anyone can continue to maintain that Obama’s appointees are unacceptable commie crackpots while still giving the God-Emperor Himself a pass.

There’s so much wrong with Holdren’s ass-backwards “analysis” that it’s not even worth refuting. He knows nothing about economics, science, or any damned thing else. His views are the pre-digested, mindless Leftist pap of freshman college-dorm bull sessions, laden with all the insipid superficiality that implies to anyone who’s been there, done that, and eventually managed to rise above the Mark-1 Mod-0 white noise to learn to think for themselves.

We already know where these bonehead zero-sum beliefs lead; most Americans do, contrary to the usual liberal perception of them as dull-witted cretins. We shouldn’t waste a moment rebutting any of them in detail; we should set about crushing those who espouse them, mocking them, driving them from the positions of power they’ve usurped, hounding them without surcease until they howl in frustration and impotent rage. They don’t listen, and never learn, no matter how many hard lessons reality tries to teach them. They must be defeated, not debated.

You’re damned right I want Obama to fail. His failure is inevitable anyway; his “new kind of politics” is actually the same old sophistry, which has never once created anything anywhere in the world but misery, poverty, and destruction. His failure is freedom and prosperity’s success.
