Anyone still entertaining the illusion that the Supreme Leader will find it difficult to suck Iranian mullah ass after the rebellion in Iran is well and truly crushed?
The United States said Monday its invitations were still standing for Iranian diplomats to attend July 4 celebrations at US embassies despite the crackdown on opposition supporters.
President Barack Obama’s administration said earlier this month it would invite Iran to US embassy barbecues for the national holiday for the first time since the two nations severed relations following the 1979 Islamic revolution.
“There’s no thought to rescinding the invitations to Iranian diplomats,” State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters.
Our current ruling junta is a disgusting affront to everything this country used to stand for. Hussein was going to “restore our standing in the world?” He’s systematically destroyed any claim to moral authority and leadership of the free world we ever had, by refusing to speak up clearly in defense of liberty and justice, and continuing to insist on negotiations with these monstrous savages.
Update! And the jug-eared moron has the balls to try to claim credit for a revolution he’s helping to kill a-borning? Unbelievable.
Obama’s approach to Iran, including his assertion that the unrest there represents a debate among Iranians unrelated to the United States, is an acknowledgment that a U.S. president’s words have a limited ability to alter foreign events in real time and could do more harm than good. But privately Obama advisers are crediting his Cairo speech for inspiring the protesters, especially the young ones, who are now posing the most direct challenge to the republic’s Islamic authority in its 30-year history.
Captain Ed says it best: “This is the most despicable, self-serving, and arrogant spin I’ve seen yet from this White House, and that’s saying something.”
