What Bubba knows

June 13th, 2009

This, at least:

I’m forwarding the following message received from Media Research Center for several reasons.

One, I despise David Letterman for the liberal, casually-American fool that he is.

Two, I genuinely admire and respect Sarah Palin. I voted for her in November (McCain just happened to be on the same ticket), because she was the only conservative on either ticket.

Three, Letterman has dogged Palin with a vengeance since August – for the very reasons that I admire her.

Four, his vile jokes are laughed at by his moonbat brethren that would burn crosses in the yards of any conservative that dared say the exact same thing about one of the Obama girls.

Five, Letterman is catching hell for this one. Which means that Palin is NOT a has-been, but very much a force to be dealt with and feared by the lefties. The outrage being vented against Letterman is more evidence that we, the people, the real Americans are tired – sick and tired – of tolerating the preening leftist Obama worshippers.

So, read the article. Watch the video.

Then use the listed phone numbers of CBS executives to add more fuel to the fire that’s growing.

Letterman is just one loud-mouth liberal coward. But let no fool go unchallenged. Bust em all.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Related press release here; vid here. And (via Cynthia Yockey) Sebastian Grey puts forth an idea whose time has surely come:

Don Imus was fired for much, much less. David Letterman should be fired, too.

Will that happen? I don’t believe so…as Letterman is more of an institution than Imus ever was.

But, CBS is in real trouble right now. Katie Couric just clocked the lowest ratings for a news broadcast on American television in HISTORY. Ad revenues are down everywhere, and once a month when Dr. Utopia gets on the TV and commandeers primetime for one of his ego trip national addresses, the networks lose tens of millions of dollars.

CBS cannot afford to lose M&M Mars or any two other large advertisers. If you direct all of your firepower at three big players like this, all selling products to families, and you heed my advice above, SOMETHING will happen before a month is out. You just have to put a little Al Sharpton in your life, be persistent, and write, write, write.

Indeed. Cynthia has a list of advertisers and their contact info appended to her post, and as distasteful as it may be to us on several levels, it’s high time we started pushing back hard against these swine; wringing our hands in Victorian shock every time another one of these vicious, personal attacks is launched — as if each new occurrence is anything at all out of the ordinary — just ain’t gonna accomplish anything. Miss A sums up:

This is American Sharia, assholes. The practitioners of Sharia in Muslim countries are at least consistent in their contempt for women and in their practice of gender apartheid: you, on the other hand, want sexual slavery for some women in this country; others, whose opinions you prefer, can live in relative peace and freedom. You will allow it.

If you are giving women and girls the “gift” of not being badgered for being female, and threatened with misogyny and sexual assault, they are not truly free—only living in a state of grace, contingent upon performing the right tricks, spouting leftist verbiage like seals at Sea World, balancing balls on their noses in the hopes of getting fish thrown into their mouths.

I know I said at first that I was having a hard time getting too excited about this kerfuffle, but I’m thinking now I was wrong about that. This might be just the time to get good and pissed off, and to try to flex a little muscle. Letterman is liberal scum; he’s backed by a whole army of phony, self-righteous dirtbags who’d scream for the immediate firing and/or beheading of anyone who dared make similar jokes about Obama’s kids. They incessantly, piously preach at us about “leveling the playing field;” maybe they ought to be reminded that either it goes both ways, or it don’t go at all.

Update! Ric Locke knows why they hate her so desperately:

There is more, but you get the idea — the whole Palin family is a direct challenge to the Leftoids’ bigoted (yes, that’s what it is), stereotyped notion of what a family of right-wing God-botherers should be. Just one aspect of that, the legions of Womyn® who left child-bearing off until later and now have psychological problems with it, cannot be borne in any way and must be rejected in toto.

Now, in point of fact, down here among my gap-toothed redneck neighbors, Palin’s family looks a lot more like “us” than anything found within the DC beltway. I know lots of families where the woman makes more money or has a more powerful job than the man; unwed mothers are all around, and they get family and societal support, including from the church(es); men in manly occupations — firefighters, welders, construction, and the like — tend more often than not to have wives who are teachers, managers, or other higher-status jobs.

And they all must be repudiated and punished because, by going against the grain of liberals’ adolescent stereotype of normal suburban or small-town Americans as mindless, intolerant zombies living in a soulless, artless wasteland, they create uncomfortable cognitive dissonance for people whose assumption of inherent moral and intellectual superiority won’t stand a moment’s honest scrutiny. They rejected Daddy’s authority for Big Government Mommy’s skirttail, moved to a big city or college town, and now their prejudices must be reinforced, lest they have to reconceptualize themselves not as brave urban warriors standing up for the brainwashed and oppressed, but as the sniveling, selfish little shits they always were.

To overgeneralize, perhaps, but not by much: liberalism, it turns out, isn’t anything so glamorous or dramatic as a mental disorder; for many if not most, it’s a minor neurosis, a life-choice tantrum thrown by spoiled brats to buttress undeserved notions of their own über-righteousness.

Updated update! Good stuff from Treacher:

You can tell this is an apology because at no point does he actually apologize. Just because it’s an angry, insincere, self-pitying (“Get yourself a talk show, folks”), self-justifying whine, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t just drop the whole thing already. They’re only jokes, right? First Amendment! You wingnuts do it too! Etc.

So now we’re supposed to accept that Letterman wasn’t lashing out at Sarah Palin through her 14-year-old daughter — which would be totally sick, after all — but through her 18-year-old daughter. He was just too lazy to make sure he was publicly humiliating the correct offspring of the person he clearly loathes, right?

And we’re also supposed to accept that even though he was joking about Bristol being a slut — not Willow, honest! — it’s okay because after all, Bristol is an unwed teen mother. It wasn’t a rape joke, silly, it was a whore joke. This is the substance of Letterman’s “apology.”

Hey, all you Palin-haters, here’s a fun fact you might not know: Barack Obama was conceived out of wedlock when his mom was barely legal.

As if that wasn’t gonna leave a big enough mark, Jim then explains things further to liberal rape-joke apologists, and dismantles the slimewad Letterman’s “mighty fortress of logic.”

Howl from Bedlam update! Obsessive, unhinged lunatic calls Palin a “trainwreck,” “the nutcase from Wasilla.” Meh, it’s Sullivan, so I’m suddenly overcome with too much ennui to allow for linking his deranged raving. To paraphrase another headcase: Oh Andrew, Prince of Irony.

The other thing to remember is that Letterman himself is the father of a child born under the bar-sinister. (That is a nice way of saying bastard.) He did not wed the mother until recently, the time the child was heading into kindergarten.
