And that about wraps it up

Pelosi is not only a liar, she’s stupid as hell for thinking she’d get away with this.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — A source close to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now confirms that Pelosi was told in February 2003 by her intelligence aide, Michael Sheehy, that waterboarding was actually used on CIA detainee Abu Zubaydah.

This appears to contradict Pelosi’s account that she was never told waterboarding actually happened, only that the administration was considering using it.

“Appears?” APPEARS? It DIRECTLY contradicts her sorry, lying ass.

This source says Pelosi didn’t object when she learned that waterboarding was being used because she had not been personally briefed about it — only her aide had been told.

But of course. Anybody remember “plausible deniability?” She was covering her sorry, lying ass.

Pelosi admits attending one briefing in September 2002, but at a news conference last month, she was adamant that she did not know waterboarding was used.

She’s a lying scumbag.

“At that or any other briefing, and that was the only briefing that I was briefed on in that regard, we were not — I repeat, we were not — told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used, ” Pelosi said on April 23.

Bullshit, you sorry, lying ass.

The number two House Democrat — Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland — said Tuesday, “I think the facts need to get out” regarding what members of Congress had been told about harsh interrogations.

They already have, despite the sorry, lying ass’s best efforts to prevent it.

But when asked whether Pelosi testifying would be appropriate, Hoyer did not directly answer the question, saying, “The issue is what was done. If you don’t have the facts pounded on the table, they (Republicans) are pounding on the table, or they are pounding on Speaker Pelosi. Take your pick. But they are doing so as a distraction, as a distraction from what was done in this case.”

Distraction, hell. The whole thing was a distraction of sorts from the very start. Pelosi, like the rest of the Scumocrats, saw nothing wrong with using national security as a political football, undermining the nation’s war effort for political gain. Period. End of story. She ought to be ridden out of DC on a rail, and tossed in the Potomac for good measure. But that would surely violate EPA toxic-waste dumping regs.

Pelosi is a polyp, a cancer on the body politic. The Congressional swamp does indeed need draining — and this useless bitch ought to be the first one floated off into the DC sewer system.

Update! Just had a thought: this is exactly the kind of thing that John McCain’s misguided idea back during the campaign (that “torture” should be illegal, but the rules could and should be broken when necessary) would have led to: politicians covering their sorry, lying asses while leaving those charged with defending the nation hanging out to dry, holding them legally answerable for shouldering a responsibility political weasels have neither the guts nor integrity to accept — despite said weasels’ having sworn an oath to do just that.

    Mike;

That's a great observation about McCain's "torture" policy. That's exactly why we argued that such a policy will likely lesd to American deaths--all the incentives are for our agents not to take risks, not to stick their necks out, not to protect us.

The thing is, the system worked. The CIA opened itself to oversight by the Congress just as it should have. Congress signed off, again, just as it should have. Problems have only arisen since because certain liar/politicians have changed their minds and have since determined to ruthlessly demagogue the issue for 30 pieces of political silver. But the system worked.

She knew exactly what was going on and so did the other three top Democrats at the time. The same thing goes for the other elephant in the room, the so-called NSA domestic spying "scandal". The Dems knew all about that one too. Funny how that seems to have dropped off the nutroots radar lately.
