“Thought” process

April 18th, 2009

A review: it was CRUCIAL that we get the banking, insurance, health care, and auto industries on the fast track to nationalization (a nationalization we’re assured is only “temporary,” mind, ending as soon as some of these institutions pay the bailout money back, which they won’t be allowed to do) via a combination of government bribes and threats, IMMEDIATELYRIGHTFRIGGINGNOW — even though these actions might not actually be expected to “help” our economy for a good while yet. Our socialist Savior tells us all economists agree that a recession caused by government interference in the economy is no time to stop government interference in the economy, which makes every bit as much sense as any of his other circular-argument sophistry. Which is why it’s so important, naturally, that unrestrained and unexamined government spending on useless liberal pet projects be not only implemented FASTERFASTERFASTER, but made a permanent feature of the American economic landscape for years and years to come.

Thing is, I just can’t for the life of me figure out what those Teabaggers are complaining about. Stupid rightwing extremists. Why can’t you unreasonable radicals compromise a little, in the new spirit of bipartisanship, don your new grey tunics, and do everything we say, exactly as we say to do it, without any argument at all? After all, we won!

But hey, look, everybody: it’s working!
