Obama shows belly, Bear rakes it

March 3rd, 2009

Man, I sure am glad to see all those fists unclenching now that we elected the idiot Savior our enemies and occasional “allies” hoped for:

Russian President Dmitri Medvedev on Tuesday showed willingness to discuss the US-planned missile defence system opposed by Moscow, but without “haggling” linking it to Iran. Medvedev was commenting during a visit to Spain on an alleged offer by US President Barack Obama to halt the defence system if Iran could be convinced to give up nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.

Looks like the Russians took a lesson from Democrat notions of “bipartisanship,” and have smacked down the Boy Genius’s supplicative diplo-mewling with a loud “my way or the highway, chump.” Looks also like all that brilliant diplomacy we were promised is really paying off — in a most predictable way.

Lesson for the day: you show weakness, you get assessed as weak, and treated accordingly. Seems simple, doesn’t it? And yet it’s too complex for our hapless-boob Current Occupant, and his millions of braindead supporters, to figure out. Ain’t like they haven’t been told, over and over and over again. And yet on they go, merrily dismantling free-world security in the risibly forlorn hope that This Time It’ll Be Different.

There’s a phrase I remember my mom using in my misspent youth to describe such as them…what was it? Oh yeah: dumb as a box of hair.

I dunno, Mike, to me this is kind of like the F22 "debacle."

I could never understand why it was so hell-fired important for the US to put a missile defense system in Europe anyway. Seemed like a bit of a large-buck pork barrel project to me.

If the Euros want to defend themselves from middle eastern or Russian missiles, they have the money, the technology and the people to do it.

I say let Europe defend Europe, we've done it long enough.

Agreed on that, Martin. Given all the America-bashing they've been pleased to engage in over the years, I'd be more than happy to let 'em sink on their own. In fact, it's a little bit like what's going on domestically: perhaps the only thing that'll ever wake us up is if we get the full-bore blast of socialist disaster right in the face.

I do think it's funny as hell, though, that every single time so far the Redeemer has reached out with his feeble little olive branch, he's gotten a good solid smack for his trouble -- just like we've all said he would all along.

McCain had it right. "When I stare in Putin's eyes I see three letters: K.B.G."
