Stubborn fools to learn the hard way

January 22nd, 2009

Is there nothing, nothing at all, that will convince them to stop reelecting this asshole? Well, maybe this’ll do it:

As one of his first acts in office, the president circulated a draft Wednesday that would shut down Guantanamo Bay within a year.

Murtha only has a minimum security prison in his district. But he says he’d have no reservations about holding detainees there in a maximum security prison.

“Sure, I’d take ‘em,” said Murtha, an outspoken critic of the Iraq war. “They’re no more dangerous in my district than in Guantanamo.”

Murtha added that there was “no reason not to put ‘em in prisons in the United States and handle them the way they would handle any other prisoners.”

And there you have it: our new approach to “fighting” terrorism. Khalid Sheik Mohammed, just another common criminal. As JWF says, I’m all for it. The government you deserve, baby.

Update! Capt Ed:

What makes this so reprehensible is that Shanksville had been in Murtha’s district on 9/11. Shanksville is the last resting place of United 93, the flight where Americans fought back and saved many more lives by forcing the al-Qaeda terrorists to fly the jet into the ground where no one else could get hurt. Now Murtha wants to house the terrorists nearby, among the people of that area.

So? They keep reelecting the officious swine. The government they deserve, as I said.

Unfortunately, it's not the government we deserve, but we got it anyway.

Yeah, that's pretty much the sucky part, sure enough. I keep saying that all the libs who want to live under socialist tyranny ought to just move, and leave the dwindling few of us who still care about freedom alone. They never do, though. Because it just won't work if it it ain't universal, I guess.

If we shut down and got ourselves out of this wretched UN we would save billions and billions a year
