Obama, like most liberal socialists, simply does not understand what this country is supposed to be about. And what little of it he does understand, he doesn’t like:

If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court. I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order as long as I could pay for it I’d be o.k. But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf…

Bold mine. Does anyone need it spelled out any more clearly than this? He doesn’t want to uphold the Constitution; he disagrees strongly with it, and wants to “break free from it.” He said it himself, in plain language, and all the spin liberals and “moderates” can conjure won’t alter the fact. This cockroach is as downright un- and anti-American a candidate as we have ever seen run for President.

So you want HopeyChange!, do you? Well, the moment this droning hard-Left mountebank takes office, the transformation of the United States of America from what it ought to be into just another EuroLite superstate failure will begin in earnest. Change! you can be crushed under the despot’s heel of.

Such a lack of regard, if not outright hostility, for our most fundamental principles ought to be unacceptable, an automatic disqualification for holding the office of President. Perhaps the most disgusting and dismaying thing about this whole farce of an election isn’t that Obama is so close to winning it, but that he ever got far enough along in the process to be seriously considered as a viable candidate at all. That sad fact speaks volumes about so many things: the dysfunctional and corrupt state of Chicago machine politics; the Democrat Party’s spurning of American ideals; and the ignorance of and antipathy towards the most basic tenets this nation is built upon on the part of both its mush-brained base and its grubby, cynical leadership.

But what it speaks loudest about is the frightening success of the Ayers/Obama reeducation project — the first phase of Gramsci’s “long march through the institutions” — not just in Chicago but all across America, as the generation spoon-fed ideological contempt for American first principles and indoctrinated into socialism since grade-school now helps bring this cancerous creed to power, cheerleads the destruction of America That Was, and lauds its usurpation by thuggish Stalinists, fraudulent hucksters, grifters, grafters, and Tranzi numbskulls.

Unless we can somehow circumvent their rigging of the system, their pitting of the American way against itself for their own advantage, it’s eventually going to come down to fighting these people, really fighting them; if we’re ever to get our country back, we’re going to have to take it by force. I don’t know how likely that really is, but either way, it’s positively sick-making.

The government does not exist to determine the acceptable level of wealth of its individual citizens. For government to assume that role, it would have to end private property rights and assume all property belonged to the State. That is classic Marxism, and as Barbara West of WFTV noted, it runs in Marx’s classic philosophy of “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs”. That economic direction has been an abject failure everywhere it has been tried, and in many cases resulted in famines that killed millions of people.

The RNC and the McCain campaign has to get these quotes out to the American public in the final week of this election.

Update: One more clarifying thought is in order. Barack Obama complains that the Constitution is a “charter of negative liberties”. That’s because the Constitution was intended as a limiting document, to curtail the power of the federal government vis-a-vis the states and the individual. The founders intended at the time to limit the reach of the federal government, and built the Constitution accordingly.

Barack Obama wants to reverse that entirely. And that’s radical change you’d better believe in, or else.

Yep. And it is, or ought to be, unacceptable in a Presidential candidate. But The Lord God Obama has demonstrated more than once that he doesn’t merely consider himself a candidate for President of the US; in his boundless, elitist arrogance, he thinks he ought to be President of the World.
