Watch out! Here come the Christianists!

Insipid conventional wisdom from the MSM:

DALLAS (Reuters) – If Republican John McCain loses the November 4 election as most polls predict, his party may be in for a rough period of soul searching.

Analysts and some party activists say losing the White House will highlight the pitfalls of relying too heavily on a narrow foundation of conservative Christians whose support has nonetheless become crucial to Republican electoral success.

…President George W. Bush took almost 80 percent of the white evangelical vote and was the favorite of many socially conservative Catholics during the 2004 election.

Get it? Ultra right-wing extremists like McCain and Bush have ruined the Republican Party by inviting those blasted religious types into the tent. The GOP is just too conservative. You guys need to “moderate” — ie, tack Left and be more like Democrats — to win elections. And RINO Juan McCain’s floundering in the polls is all the proof the liberal media needs to lecture us about it. That, and those infallible cooked polls they trot out to bolster trite, ass-backwards balderdash like this.

Again: if these cocooned “analyst” dweebs ever laid eyes on an actual conservative, they wouldn’t know whether to throw rocks or head for the hills. Dopes.

Update! Did I just say “infallible cooked polls?” I meant it.

This kind of thing makes me so angry.

From my viewpoint, the Republicans lost some people by catering to the religious right...and lost everyone else by being either too liberal or too accommodating on liberal issues.

Be fiscally conservative, strong on defense, take a hard line on illegal immigration and be business friendly. That's how you hold the Republican base. For several elections now, conservatives have had only the choice between very bad and utterly intolerable. Until the Republicans get back to basics, they will be in constant hot water.

Obama is McCain's bestest friend, because I would never vote for him (McCain) were he running against anyone else.

In other words, there should be one liberal party and one REALLY liberal party. Then we'd be just like the Stepford Media, representing the entire gamut of opinion from A to B.

And if John McCain wins, will the CheapWhore Media do some "soul-searching"? Oh yeah, they can't; sold 'em already.

Don't get me started. Uh-oh. Too late. We evangelicals are also "dominionists," to listen to some of the anti-God, pro-gay, anarchist, illuminati types. Of course, they are neo-Marxists, whose dominion is anti-religion. Can anyone say spirit of Anti-Christ? "Get thee behind me!"
