So…is Obama covering his own ass with a wink and a nudge when he says he thinks stuff like this is beyond the pale? Or is he, as Ace wonders, just a lousy leader whose directives even his own staff feels free to ignore?
Update! Another good one, this one on how the Daily Kos Media (we’ll be getting a lot of use out of that one around here, I predict) couldn’t POSSIBLY have seen the Palin juggernaut coming right at ‘em, due to their habit of walking around with their eyes wide shut to anything not left-wing and incredibly stupid:
If they had read right wing blogs, they’d have known that Sarah Palin had become a GOP hero the past six months over her tough, articulate advocacy on drilling, and many people were touting her as a Veep-pick. Including Beldar, and including that guy who set up the Draft Palin website.
Maybe if you stupid fuckers could tear yourself away from your precious Daily Kos and FireDogLake for two fucking seconds and do your jobs, these “out of left field” surprises wouldn’t keep sneaking up on you.
Dead on. At this point, far from being able to provide Evan Thomas’s famous 15-point boost to their preferred candidates, I’d say they’re more likely to be good for a similar bounce in the other direction. Keep up the good work, geniuses.

Isn’t that an extra dollop of irony? Mr. Richter wants to protect his son from lunatics. What happens? The lunatics use that as “evidence” that Palin had an affair with Richter and descend on him to get the dirt.
The desperation of Obama supporters keeps becoming ever more clear. We’ve now had them smear Palin and her daughter as sluts, notably Conan O’Brien and his crude “crease” reference on his show last night. Palin’s mothering quality has also been slandered, and her decision to have a successful career derided by those who would normally sneer at stay-at-home moms.
Keep it up — please. Keep informing the public that women have to stay on the ideological reservation or they have to stay in the kitchen, and that they’re not really free to have their own minds. Keep punishing those who express their own opinions and defy the media with despicable slurs and innuendo and by all means keep attacking their children. None of that will have any effect on Palin’s credibility — but it will strip her critics of theirs.
Nice thing is, with this kind of derangement, pointing it out isn’t the first step towards a cure; it only pushes them further over the edge, so that they just can’t stop themselves from dropping the mask and putting their crude bias and intolerance on display for all to see. I’d guess that at some point we’ll see Olbercunt or one of the other unhinged Lefty jackals actually go pop-eyed and frothy with frustrated rage, spluttering “WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!” on camera during one of their “balanced” newscasts. So yeah, keep it up, slimeballs. Maybe you can get that downward bounce up to 30 points or better before you’re done.
