Us and Them
Anybody recall any Rightwingnutnazirethugnicans doing anything even remotely resembling this at the Social Democrats’ little party last week?
ST. PAUL — As the Connecticut delegation was getting off a bus near the Xcel Center, a group of protesters broke free from authorities and attacked the delegates.
Connecticut delegate Rob Simmons told FOX 9 that a group of protesters came toward his delegation and tried to rip the credentials off their necks and sprayed them with a toxic substance.
The unknown substance burned their eyes and stained their clothes.
One 80-year-old member of the delegation had to be treated for injuries, and several other delegates had to rinse their eyes and clothing.
Simmons says the incident was scary and concerning, but it won’t stop his delegation from enjoying the RNC activities. He also said that the incident hasn’t soured his image of St. Paul.
Well, there’s no reason it should reflect on St Paul, necessarily, seeing as how many of the masked thugs are most likely a bunch of rent-a-mob totalitarians imported from out of town. And there’s also no reason you should recall anyone from our side emulating them in Denver, trying to harass, intimidate, and shut down free speech — because we simply don’t do that sort of thing. They do. We believe in the sanctity of the First Amendment and the freedom of speech it protects. They don’t. End of story.
But hey, The Messiah’s bosom chum Bill Ayers would certainly be proud, wouldn’t he? After all, this sort of thing is just what he hoped to see as the end result of schemes like the Annenberg Challenge. Lots of folks have tried to make much of the failure of the education “reforms” he and the Messiah spearheaded; I’d say they were damned successful at achieving their real goal:
During Obama’s tenure as Annenberg chairman, Ayers’ own education projects received substantial funding. As we’ve noted in our series, “The Audacity of Socialism,” Ayers, now a tenured distinguished professor of education at UIC, works to educate teachers in socialist revolutionary ideology, urging that it be passed on to impressionable students.
One of Ayer’s descriptions for a course called “Improving Learning Environments” says prospective K-12 teachers need to “be aware of the social and moral universe we inhabit and…be a teacher capable of hope and struggle, outrage and action, teaching for social justice and liberation.”
Nope, given what education in America has become, and the kind of brainwashed left-wing automatons they churn out, I’d say Ayers and his partner Obama have been quite successful indeed.
But hey, the above-mentioned assault was just one isolated incident, right? Ummm, no. Not hardly.
Lock ‘em up, throw away the key. Or else put them on a slow boat to someplace better suited to the practice of their beliefs — like Cuba, China, Russia, or Singapore, say. A taste of what life is really like in one of their clampdown utopias is exactly what they deserve. No return ticket, either.
Y’know, one of these days, if they keep on with responding to political dissent with violence, they’re going to get the war they claim to want. They’ll deserve that, too. In spades.
