Commies for Christ
No surprise here:
Barack Obama is not a left candidate. This fact has seemingly surprised a number of progressive people who are bemoaning Obama’s “shift to the center.” (Right-wingers are happy to join them, suggesting Obama is a “flip-flopper.”) It’s sad that some who seek progressive change are missing the forest for the trees. But they will not dampen the wide and deep enthusiasm for blocking a third Bush term represented by John McCain, or for bringing Obama by a landslide into the White House with a large Democratic congressional majority.
A broad multiclass, multiracial movement is converging around Obama’s “Hope, change and unity” campaign because they see in it the thrilling opportunity to end 30 years of ultra-right rule and move our nation forward with a broadly progressive agenda.
If Obama’s candidacy represented nothing more than the spark for this profound initiative to unite the working class and defeat the pernicious influence of racism, it would be a transformative candidacy that would advance progressive politics for the long term.
One thing is clear. None of the people’s struggles — from peace to universal health care to an economy that puts Main Street before Wall Street — will advance if McCain wins in November.
Let’s keep our eyes on the prize.
That’s from CPUSA Online, and it’s almost enough to get me in McCain’s camp by itself. These treacherous, anti-freedom bastards simply can’t be allowed to indulge the outlandish conceit that they speak for real Americans — ever. They are, quite literally and with no hyperbole intended, the enemy of everything this nation is supposed to stand for.
As for the risible “Republicans for Obama” meme? Umm, not so much, actually, and even a reliably Left/Dem propaganda organ like Newsweek knows it. RINOs for Obama, sure, and there shouldn’t really be any surprise about that either.
Lord knows I have problems enough with McCain, and have not been reticent about expressing that. I will continue hacking at him when I think it appropriate. But no real Republican (as the word was once understood) would ever dream of outright supporting the vacuous, double-dealing, socialist empty suit the CommieCrats have on offer this year.
I’ll say it again: what an appalling and disgraceful pass we’ve brought ourselves to this election season. Verily, it is to weep.

WTF? Did I miss something?
Equally sad, as I see it, is the broken back of journalism. The daily gilding of grunt by the mainstream press, and the acceptance of the news media as a cheering section leaves Pulitzer and his famous Yellow Journalism behind as pikers. Again, it happened in increments, pathetic little ballerina steps to the point now where they themselves don't even see a problem with it. I do. It used to be a grubby but honorable profession. A man could stand proud calling himself a journalist. Now it's open whoring and America hating.
And if the students and the mojito suckers and the eco-grifters and race scammers--not to mention Muslims--get the keys to the White House, the US really is boned. The final descent into Balkanization--following the greasing of the national rectum to accomodate the world's wolves--will not take long. I'm too old to see it finally play out, I think, but sadly I'll be here long enough to weep over what could have been and what was squandered. No, squandered isn't right, Pissed away. Willfully discarded and forcefully rejected. This great, once muscular and robust nation will mince, disheveled, into the mid-2000s completely emaciated and begging for the kindness of strangers.
And you know what that got Blanche.
I'm with you on the McCain thing, and have been since before the primary season kicked off. That conservatives could somehow have ended up with him as the GOP nominee is beyond me. Anyway, Bill Quick, as you might have noticed, finally flipped into the vote for McCain camp. His decision is based entirely on the actions that a Barry or Johnny might take during a worst case scenario. I'm not there, but these anti-American types might, if they keep it up, tip me over by election day. The fact that those turds cannot see that they might push us Not-McCain conservatives into voting for him if they don't stop bullshitting is something that I cannot fathom. Much the CBS' used of forged documents pushed some anti-Bush people into voting for him to give the liberals the finger, I see the constant drumbeat of anti-Americanism slowly pushing more libertarians and conservatives into McCain's camp, albeit very slowly.
This election year sucks. One way or the other we're going to get a liberal Democrat as president. The only question is whether or not we'll get the one that isn't actively pro-American.
You guys are a no-gain group for them. They're never going to attract your vote. Your abstention is in their favor, true. But I doubt they'd veer a half-inch off course to influence you one way or another.
Not to mention that a person standing by their principles, to a Democrat, is a total alien. If you're guided by beliefs, through lean and flush times--you might as well be in a zoo. Meanwhile, they've got wind direction to follow.
samabama AND a demoncrap Congress, we're freaking done. And remember the Judiciary branch? Yeah, that'll be good if B'HO is the boss, huh?
