Red tide rising

Washing the “blue wave” right into the bone-strewn basin of broken dreams.

For the Trump coalition, this election was always going to be about the local issues that hit them where they live. Their suburbs, exurbs, small towns, mid-sized towns and farming communities have eroded over the past few generations. Trump intuitively knew that, and he knows this is what could galvanize them again in the midterms and maybe match the intensity of Democrats who will come out to vote against him.

Kelly is facing Democrat Ron DiNicola, a Harvard-educated lawyer, who served in the Marines and made a name for himself as a boxer as a young man. RealClearPolitics ranks this race as “Likely GOP.”

For Amy Westbrook, a Republican who says she’s an occasional ticket splitter, voting in the midterms means preserving things that are important to her, like traditional values. “I just heard Mike Kelly for the very first time. I like what I heard,” she said.

Standing in the overflow crowd at the rally, Westbrook says she wasn’t energized by the Kavanaugh theatrics, though she did scrutinize the hearings. “I really wanted to hear both sides and get to the truth, that was important to me,” she said.

She’s not always a fan of the president’s demeanor, “but I am happy with the results,” she said.

If people like Westbrook and Vogel coalesce around the GOP, the Democrats could be in trouble. And if the Democrats keep supporting people who claw at the doors of the Supreme Court in protest, or harass Republicans and their families at dinners, or talk nonstop about impeachment or echo Hillary Clinton’s sentiment that: “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for,” then they may do what I thought unlikely: stop their own blue wave mid-flow.

Well, let’s give credit where due: the Left’s sudden reversal of fortune isn’t entirely because of their incredible penchant for halfwitted fuck-uppery. In Trump, we have a solid, uber-competent President who has not only turned the economy around but has also delivered on a multitude of his other campaign pledges, in telling contrast to what we’ve long been accustomed to from professional politicians; who has led his supporters and a handful of like-minded Congressmen to victory after victory over the floundering, hapless Democrat Socialists; has inspired squishy Congressional RINOs and GOPE-ers like Graham and Collins (!) to relocate their backbones and put them to good use, at least for now; has…well, here’s a list, no need to rehash it all here.

In other words, the Democrat Socialists aren’t merely losing; WE are WINNING. And all Americans ever needed all along was some true leadership, some willingness to show a little fight.

Update! Bill notes some early backpedaling and preemptive ass-covering going on.

It’s just a tad early to start seeing this – the suppression pollsters and hack media propagandists usually wait until the final ten days before quietly backing off from their rabid in-the-Dem-tankery in order to save a shred or two of their reputations.

It must be a lot worse than I thought for them if they’re starting to throw in their hands already.

Can you imagine how much fun its going to be on November 9th if the GOP picks up five or six Senate seats, and easily holds the House?

I still insist that the Repubs will probably gain in the House, such will be the enormity of the coming Democrat-Socialist drubbing. In another post, he reiterates:

Frankly, this sudden awareness on the Monolithic Media’s part that there may be some trouble in River City for them next month is another huge tell.  If they are admitting it at this point, it’s probably more than just an effort to drive Dem turnout.

They may have figured out that they are in real trouble.

In every context, in every way, it is now sheer panic and desperation driving the Left. Real Americans need to heed the sage advice of the incomparable cavalryman Nathan Bedford Forrest: “The way to whip an enemy is to git ’em skeered, and then keep the skeer on ’em.

A Civil War quote is more pertinent than you might think at first, for more than just the obvious reason; there shouldn’t be any doubt at all by now that this present-day enemy has to be not just defeated, but demoralized—in Forrest’s parlance, “whipped,” all the will to further seditious devilry crushed completely out of them. It’s my belief that it will take more than an electoral defeat to do jolt the Left back to sanity, however crushing. But we all have to hope I’m wrong about that.

  1. The basic assumption seems to be that the votes in the upcoming election will be counted fairly and accurately. Exactly what is THAT assumption based on? Do you not understand that there are already boxes stuffed full of ballots, with every one of them marked for the Communist candidates, waiting to be “discovered” right after the election and counted? Even though said ballots put the voting totals for the precinct well over the total population of that precinct?

Or do you actually expect that “Law Enforcement” and the “Legal” system will actually investigate, charge, prosecute, convict, and punish appropriately this time???
