Cold Fury

Harshing your mellow since 9/01

A whimper and not a bang

Okay, raise your hands if you didn’t see THIS one coming.

The Deep State has been weaving its own tangled web of Russian collusion for the past two years beginning with Russia supposedly hacking the 2016 election, creating the electoral outcome they desired. It has since morphed into Trump colluding with the Russians, despite zero proof on the one-year anniversary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s free-for-all investigation by his merry band of partisan Democrats.

It’s now to the point that Mueller’s team is investigating anyone in Trump’s circle who ever ate a bowl of borscht or drank a sip of Russian vodka. At a time when this couldn’t get any more ridiculous, look no further than the Washington Post for a version of “can you top this?”

A few days ago, the WaPo published an opinion piece entitled, “The FBI didn’t use an informant to go after Trump. They used one to protect him.”

Sure, they did. I can’t wait to read from the WaPo how Iran wants nukes to “protect” Israel or that that sanctuary cities are for the “protection” of legal, law-abiding residents of those cities.

Oh, you never will. It’s just the latest pathetic, feeble attempt at ass-covering from a Deep State cabal unexpectedly caught with its pants down and its hand in the cookie jar, to scramble a couple of apt metaphors. Dead giveaway: if it really was the case that the Deep State machine was trying to safeguard the legitimacy of US presidential elections and “protect” Trump as they say, how come they didn’t assign a couple of spies to Hillary’s campaign too?

In fact, Hillary!™ would have been the far more obvious choice than Trump when it comes to needing “protection” from Russian skullduggery. After all, she and Obama are the ones up to their crooked clavicles in collusion with Russian malfeasants to try to rig the election, with more evidence in support of the assertion being exposed every day. MIchael Caputo, the “God damn you to hell” guy and one of those who had his life destroyed by these corrupt scumbags, tells the simple truth:

In Russia, they call this the “siloviki,” the national security leadership that secretly spies on the entire citizenry of Russia. And we here are in the United States with our own siloviki underneath President Obama. Let me tell you something that I know for a fact. This informant, this person that they planted — tried to plant — into the campaign and even into the administration? If you believe Axios, he’s not the only person that came with the campaign. And the FBI is not the only Obama agency that came with the campaign. I know because they came at me. And I’m looking for clearance from my attorney to reveal this to the public. This is just the beginning. And I’ll tell you, when we finally find out the truth about this, Director Clapper and the rest of ’em are gonna be wearing some orange suits.

T’is a consummation devoutly to be wished, but…well, I dunno. Rush puts the capper on, including a pretty good reason to hold out hope that justice might at last be done:

You never know who they’re gonna catch here. Now, that is on fire. That is claiming Clapper and some of these others are going to go to jail. Now, folks, I know many of you are frustrated — as am I, and as are many — over the fact that it seems like whoever is running in anti-Trump operation’s on getting away with it and is going to get away with it.

And it’s very frustrating. Here these people, they have an actual crime, an actual series of crimes committed by Hillary Clinton and her campaign, which they not only ignore, they maneuver so as to exonerate her. Then over here they are literally in numerous ways trying to invent crimes that they want to claim Trump has committed. I know it’s maddening and it’s frustrating. We know that Hillary Clinton should be wearing orange just on the basis of her email server and the trafficking in classified the cats and documents and any number of other things.

The irony of it is they think Trump is the idiot and he’s running rings around these people, which is my point. I was reading a tweet today by…Who is it? This guy NameRedacted is his Twitter ID, I think, or close.

He was broaching this same subject about frustration that these perpetrators and the people running this coup against Trump seem like they’re gonna get away with it. And his point was, go read The Art of the Deal. Really go read the thing. Go find the chapter. I forget the title of the chapter, but the chapter that deals with how to deal with people who try to screw. Trump’s philosophy is anybody that tries to screw you, defame you, lie about you, injure you, has got to be replied to and destroyed themselves.

Because if you don’t, you will quickly establish a reputation as soft and weak. And his point was, “Just be patient. Trump knows exactly who these people are and what they’re doing, and their time is coming.”

I believe I saw somewhere or other that the chapter title is “Revenge,” which is fitting to say the least.

I remain cynical enough to seriously doubt that we’ll ever see any of these treasonous pustules sporting orange jumpsuits and leg irons. Then again, they got caught out and had their little plot exposed, against all odds and expectations—this, after decades of having gotten away with other such outrageous crimes so consistently they had evidently just come to assume that they always would. So like I said: we’ll see.

Bottom line update! This is it:

Moving on to the Mueller Witch Hunt and the Deep State coup against the President and the citizenry who elected him, more and more evidence is stripping away the onion to reveal what we had all surmised, that John Brennan engineered the entire Russian collusion myth via the fabricated dossier and a spy – or spies as Michael Caputo is alleging – within the campaign to sabotage the campaign. But since Hillary’s loss, which they gambled would never happen, the plan now is to attempt to destroy the Trump presidency in order to save their hides from being exposed. This too has failed and sooner or later, we will indeed learn that while Brennan engineered this whole thing, it was Obama who gave the order to do it. He needed Hillary in not just to cover up the crime but to preserve his eight years of poisonous ruin and seal the fate of the Republic.

This entire thing just boggles the mind on many levels. We are living through an historic and terrifying phase of our nation’s history. But the thing to remember, as Ace alluded to yesterday evening in citing Richard Fernandez’s piece at PJ Media, and Clinton Pollster Mark Penn’s essay, all of this just didn’t happen overnight. It took years, decades to corrupt an entire Federal Bureaucracy to such an extent as to make this possible. A couple of things that I think are worthy of keeping in mind; first on a granular level, as the Agitprop Media reveals names and details, they are doing this not out of journalistic integrity; they are doing this intentionally as a means to shield their political allies/fellow travelers.

The real criminals/masterminds will never be exposed, not by them anyway. And that means Obama and Clinton.

My old rule for Obama still holds up: you’ll never go wrong if you just always assume the absolute worst about whatever it is he’s lying about doing, or having done. The conclusion of the Mark Penn piece Sefton mentions:

Finding the “off” switch will not be easy. Step one here is for the Justice Department inspector general report to knock Comey out of the witness box. Next, the full origins of the investigation and its lack of any real intelligence needs to come out in the open. The attorney general, himself the target of a secret investigation, needs to take back his Justice Department. Sessions needs to act quickly, along with U.S. Attorney John Huber, appointed to conduct an internal review of the FBI, on the Comey and McCabe matters following the inspector general report, and then announce an expanded probe into other abuses of power.

The president’s lawyers need to extend their new aggressiveness from words to action, filing complaints with the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility on the failure of Mueller and Rosenstein to recuse themselves and going into court to question the tactics of the special counsel, from selective prosecutions on unrelated matters, illegally seizing Government Services Administration emails, covering up the phone texts of FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, and operating without a scope approved by the attorney general. (The regulations call for the attorney general to recuse himself from the investigation but appear to still leave him responsible for the scope.)

The final stopper may be the president himself, offering two hours of testimony, perhaps even televised live from the White House. The last time America became obsessed with Russian influence in America was the McCarthy hearings in the 1950s. Those ended only when Sen. Joseph McCarthy (R-Wis.) attacked an associate of the U.S. Army counsel, Joseph Welch, and Welch famously responded: “Sir, have you no decency?” In this case, virtually every associate and family member of the president has been subject to smears conveniently leaked to the press.

Stopping Mueller isn’t about one president or one party. It’s about all presidents and all parties. It’s about cleaning out and reforming the deep state so that our intelligence operations are never used against opposing campaigns without the firmest of evidence. It’s about letting people work for campaigns and administrations without needing legal defense funds. It’s about relying on our elections to decide our differences.

Fair enough, I guess. But if that ship hasn’t sailed altogether already, it’s certainly loosed the mooring lines and is hoisting anchor.

It is to laugh update! A most amusing and ironic tidbit from the above-mentioned Fernandez/Wretchard piece:

In October 2016, “President Obama advises Trump to ‘stop whining’ after Trump tweeted the election could be rigged. ‘There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even — you could even rig America’s elections,’ said Obama.”

Yeah, well, you sure couldn’t get it done, now could ya, genius?
