Mask: off

Analysis: true.

WASHINGTON — In case Senate Republicans weren’t already having enough trouble rounding up votes to repeal and replace Obamacare, here comes ex-House speaker John Boehner with a prediction that the GOP will “never” succeed in their quest to kill the law.

“Now, they’re never — they’re not going to repeal and replace Obamacare,” Boehner said at a private speech in Las Vegas, according to The Washington Post, which obtained video of the Republican’s remarks.

Of course they’re not. They don’t want to, which ought to be obvious to even the meanest intelligence by now. Anybody who still insists on believing that we have anything even resembling a “two-party system” in this country is a damned fool.

Government health care, once implemented, has never yet been removed anywhere on Earth except by violent revolution—if then. This country will be no different; “American exceptionalism” stops right here, folks.

  1. The thing is, we have a two party system, but a multi-faction culture.

Back in the 1920’s the Social Darwinists (who called themselves Conservatives) were riding high, and the Progressive/Socialists were skulking around the edges of things. The Great Depression killed the Social Darwinists deeds a doornail, and handed the high ground over the the Lefties. The Lefties had a pretty good run, too. They held onto the core of the culture until well into the 1980’s, helped in large part by the fact that the Republican Party had no competing message they were willing to back up.

But the Progressive/Socialist Left’s Moral High Ground started eroding out from under them as it became clear what Stalin was, and the erosion kept speeding up. The Left could willfully ignore that Mao was a monster, that Pol Pot was killing a third of his country-people, that Che (photogenic Che!) was a psycho, but the truth keep leaking out at embarrassing moments.

Then Libertarianism began to make some headway. It seems to have started with Guns and then spread. In the mid 1970’s (when I first got interested in politics) it was widely assumed that handguns would be banned within a decade or so.

So, the Libertarians are starting to displace the ‘the same as the Democrats, just less and slower’ Republicans, but it isn’t happening overnight. The Moonbat Democrats haven’t even gotten to the point where something is threatening to displace them. Yet. But keep nominating phantasmagorically unpleasant bitches like Shrillary, and it will.

  2. I never contribute to the RNC. To individual candidates yes. The GOP is a bad joke. There are at least ten senators who need to be sent to North Korea.
