Cold Fury

Harshing your mellow since 9/01

You all know where this is headed, right?

Not the typical ISIS/al Qaeda/al Nusra/ whoever style Moslem attack, in plenty of ways. Which will leave plenty enough wiggle-room for the Goosesteppin’ Left to blame white Christians, lament “anti-Muslim backlash,” denounce “American gun-culture,” and demand a gun ban, while simultaneously dodging a few tough (for them) questions:

As the holiday gathering got underway Wednesday morning, Syed Rizwan Farook joined dozens of his colleagues from San Bernardino County’s public health department. Farook, an inspector, seemed quiet during the early hours of the event, then vanished just as a group photo was about to be taken.

Shortly afterward, gunfire erupted at the Inland Regional Center where the employees filled a conference room. By the end of the day, police had identified Farook, 28, as a suspect in the massacre and said he was one of two people shot to death in a gun battle with officers. The other was 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik, who a family member said was Farook’s wife.

Police officials said Farook had worked for the county for five years. San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said that there were reports of a dispute before Farook left the party.

Co-workers told The Times they were shocked to hear Farook’s name linked to the shooting. Two who were in the restroom when the bullets began to fly said he was quiet and polite, with no obvious grudges.

They said Farook recently traveled to Saudi Arabia and returned with a new wife he had met online. The couple had a baby and appeared to be “living the American dream,” said Patrick Baccari, a fellow health inspector who shared a cubicle with Farook.

They and other colleagues said Farook was a devout Muslim, but rarely discussed religion at work.
“He never struck me as a fanatic, he never struck me as suspicious,” said Griselda Reisinger, who worked with Farook before leaving the agency in May.

Later Wednesday night, Farhan Khan, a brother-in-law of Farook, said he knew the suspect for much of his life and last saw him a week ago.

“I cannot express how sad I am,” he said at an Islamic Center in Anaheim. “I have no idea why he would do that…. I am in shock that something like this would happen…. My condolences to the people who lost their life.”

Well, that’s nice and all. But I have an idea what might have motivated him, at least in part.

Farook, an American citizen, worked for the San Bernardino County Department of Health for the past few years and had a young daughter, his shocked father told the Daily News.

“I haven’t heard anything,” the elder Syed Farook told The News before his son’s name became public. “He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.”

And what about this?

Meredith Davis, a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said officials had “successfully traced” the four guns recovered in connection with the San Bernardino shooting and determined that two of the weapons were purchased legally.

The guns were bought by an individual associated with the investigation, Davis said but declined to name the person.

“Agents continue to investigate leads concerning the two additional firearms,” Davis said.

And this?

Authorities have only recently begun to process the scene at the Inland Regional Center after three devices, which police believe were explosives, were destroyed, said San Bernardino police Chief Jarrod Burguan.
The chief said investigators are not sure what the devices were made of, but that they are “leaning a little bit more toward a pipe bomb-type design.”

All of which leads to this:

Attack was not a ‘spur of the moment kind of thing’

“There had to be some degree of planning that went into this.”

The Left is going to stick to their “not all Moslems,” “workplace violence” narrative. They, along with their partners in crime at CAIR (yes, they’re already involved–that “Islamic center” the killer’s brother-in-law was making his statement from? Go back and check that bit again), will have us believe that this Moslem lunatic got into a spontaneous dispute with a co-worker, at which point he and his wife decided to head home, slip into their tactical-assault gear and BDUs, round up a few pipe bombs and assorted other weapons–all of which any average American home would just happen to have lying around waiting for just such a fraught situation as this, and must surely have nothing to do with any future plans or ill intent involving Islam–and head back to the office for some old-school 14th-Century conflict resolution.

So brace yourselves: the typical Leftist MO of making political use of any situation at all, going miles out of their way to avoid some inconvenient truth or other and blame the one group that had absolutely nothing to do with any of it so that they might turn chickenshit into chicken salad and advance their long-term agenda, is going to be in full effect for a few days, until they can drop all this down the memory hole and move on to the next opportunity. But don’t ever make the mistake of thinking of it as a tactic; as almost always with them, it’s way more strategic than tactical.

And as more supposedly “assimilated” Moslems arm up to support jihad at some later, unspecified date–and as we’re inundated with more of Obama’s “Syrian” “refugees,” either radical and ready to join the fight already or soon to be radicalized in Wahhabist mosques all over the nation–look to see more of this: a new style of Moslem violence, brought home to our very doorsteps and workplaces for us by our very own Fifth Column of terrorist enablers. This is something to mull over too:

Neighbor Andrea (Annie) Larsen said Farook lived at the home with his wife, mother and small child.

“They sounded really happy. I did notice there were lots of packages being dropped off and he was in the garage working on stuff. But that seemed normal to me. It’s Christmas and people are getting packages dropped off,” she said.

Asked if she now suspected that some of the packages might have been ammunition or other material related to the attack, Larsen said it was a scary thought.

“If I think about it like that, absolutely, it’s terrifying. I have hope in the world and hope in people, and it’s hard when that hope is challenged in such a terrifying way,” she said.

Yeah, well, it’s gonna get harder, my dear. This is the very sort of well-intentioned, generous, open-hearted naivete that will shortly be crushed out of the middle-American soul forever by the Left and its Moslem allies. It’s kinda sad and all, but the truth is we can no longer afford it when we’re faced with enemies like the ones we currently face in this two-front war.

Truth slowly outs update! Drip, drip, drip.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations in Los Angeles pulled together a press conference after the name of one of the San Bernardino shooters was identified as Syed Farook.

Farook’s brother-in-law, Farhan Khan, was brought to the microphone by CAIR to make a family statement — but was shielded from questions about the degree of Farook’s faith or other details about the shooter.

Of course he was.

“We unequivocally condemn the horrific act that happened today,” said Hussam Auyloush, executive director of the CAIR chapter, at the press conference, adding “there is absolutely nothing that can justify” the mass shooting that killed 14 and wounded 17. He mused that the cause could be workplace violence, mental illness or extremism.

Uh huh. Dispensing with these three surpassingly lame subterfuges in order, first: the “cause” of workplace violence could be…workplace violence? How does that work? Second: Islam IS a “mental illness.” Among plenty of other things. Third: bingo, although in this case Moslem “extremism” is likely to have been not the prime motivator, but the preparatory precondition. You might call this “busted-play terrorism,” since it seems to me that they were preparing for an attack sometime in the future, but jumped in prematurely and half-cocked after getting into some dispute or other that impelled him to go on and do it more or less at the spur of the moment. Way too early to know for sure, natch, and I’m not sure it matters all that much anyway.

Onwards to the real meat of it, the part that CAIR got so busy so fast trying to keep hidden away:

When reporters started peppering the brother-in-law with questions, Khan said, “I don’t want to get into all that.” Asked how devout Farook was, Khan said he didn’t know. “I have no idea why would he do that,” he said.

At that point, the CAIR director stepped in and said he spoke with Khan before the presser. “He truly doesn’t feel he’s informed enough to comment,” Auyloush said.

CAIR then brought up local Christian pastors to say the attack wasn’t about the Islamic faith.

Fools. They’ll be bleating about “tolerance” and affixing “COEXIST” bumper stickers to their cars right up until the rusty scimitar takes its first bite out of their necks.

Neighbor Maria Gutierrez told the paper, “Maybe two years ago he became more religious. He grew a beard and started to wear religious clothing. The long shirt that’s like a dress and the cap on his head.”

Again: BINGO, with bells on. I’d be willing to bet that’s about when those mysterious “packages” mentioned above started showing up at his house, too. Might be a good time to bone up on CAIR, if you have any doubts at all about just who and what they really are.

Idiocy update! Predictable as the sunrise:

Twitter erupted with gun-control advocacy while the shooting was still fresh and no details about the shooters, their weapons or motives were known.

“In 30,000 tragic deaths every year — and now #SanBernardino — Congress is effectively complicit for its inaction,” tweeted Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.).

Others were heaping criticism on lawmakers who tweeted their thoughts and prayers for the victims. “Your ‘thoughts’ should be about steps to take to stop this carnage. Your ‘prayers’ should be for forgiveness if you do nothing – again,” tweeted Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).

As if yet another law–any law at all–would have been sufficient to deter people with a houseful of Korans and pipe bombs. But I repeat once more: come and take them, baglappers. ISIS gets in a few digs that are actually pretty funny in a sick sort of way, although in ten years’ time you know the mouthbreathing Left will deny these “celebrations” ever happened at all, and will drum anyone who dares suggest they remember such right out of polite society–assuming we have much of one left by then:

Islamic State supporters also weighed in, without taking any outright claims of responsibility. One tweeted at President Obama, “How does it feel when you get hit at home kuffar?” Another, using the term ISIS uses for Muslims they deem to be hypocrites, tweeted, “Munafiqeen are holding their breath right now in fear, hoping it was not a Muslim who did mass shooting in USA, while I am hoping it was.”

And I am knowing it was, you diseased son of a pig. Funny how at least some of these guys seem to assume Obama is a Moslem though, ain’t it? Wonder if that sin of sins will be enough to get their Progressivist pals pissed at them at last.

New low update! Just when you think they’ve hit rock bottom of the sewer they dwell in:

Another Mass Shooting, Another Deluge Of Tweeted Prayers
Seems to have been an ineffective strategy so fa

Public officials are the people society trusts to solve society’s ills. Like, say, gun violence. But every time multiple people have been gunned down in a mass shooting, all these officials can seemingly do is rush to offer their useless thoughts and prayers. And so they did after news broke about multiple casualties in San Bernardino, California, on Wednesday.

The piece is at PuffHo, which I won’t dignify with a link; you can find it easy enough if you wish, and America’s Sweetheart Mollie Hemingway expands on it here. This was part of a coordinated effort by impotent, no-ball Lefty slime to dump on sincere and well-meaning people for the Crime Against The State of being Christian. But as far as “ineffective strategies” go, how’s that #Bringbackourgirls hashtag working out for you idiots, anyway?

Fucking despicable scum, every last one of them. Anytime the ISIS swine want to start hacking off Leftard “journalist” heads, they’ll hear not a peep of complaint out of me.

Obvious update! Geraghty makes several good points:

Okay, stop. This was not driven by a workplace dispute. To leave your infant child and then commit horrific violence that is likely to lead to your death from police action requires an almost otherworldly devotion to… some other cause, something you consider more important than life, death, and the inherent biological urge to protect your offspring. “Larry from accounting keeps taking the last doughnut at staff meetings” or “they took my red Swingline stapler” isn’t the sort of motive at work here.

What motivation have we seen that would make seemingly ordinary people go on mass-murdering attacks? What ideology or twisted religious fervor have we seen people willing to sacrifice their children for, willing to die for?

How religious was he?

See, when your perpetrators are using explosive devices, it’s stupid to argue that gun control laws are the right solution here.

Once again, short of nationwide mandatory confiscation of all firearms from civilians, no gun law would have prevented this.

They’re not interested in preventing anything. They’re interested in taking our freedom and enslaving us, so they can get on with the Progressivist program of experimentation, manipulation, and social engineering without fear of repercussion.

Steyn update! “…yet another somber day in which, as in Paris, ordinary citizens going about their business are dead and in mainstream western media the reasons for their death cannot be honestly articulated.”

In fact, the slaughter appears to be the work of one Syed Farook, a US-born county employee described by his father as a “devout Muslim”, assisted by a woman who may or may not be a wife or girlfriend. They had body armor and sophisticated weaponry. One male is dead, as is a female, Tashfeen Malik – apparently one of those harmless Muslim “women and children” the President was sneering at scaredypants Republicans for being such bedwetters about.

Responding to the carnage in Paris, Barack Obama said that the most “powerful rebuke” you could send to the terrorists was to go ahead and hold the big climate conference as scheduled and show the killers that the world would not be deflected from talking about sea levels in the Maldives in the 22nd century. The President spoke at the conference yesterday. Today can be seen as a “powerful rebuke” to the fatuities of Obama.

And of the Left entire. Not that it will give them even a millisecond’s pause before doubling down on their stupidity yet again. At some point, though, it becomes OUR stupidity…for putting up with it in the first place.

  1. NOTHING will change for the better until enough dead pig corpses are stacked in the streets. Or do you STILL not admit that THEY are the foul swill enabling all this???

  2. …no gun law would have prevented this.

Actually there is. The one that requires all citizens to keep a rifle and ammo in their home and workplace. Worked out pretty well for the Swiss.

  3. CA, arguably the strictest gun laws in the nation. And it made absolutely no difference.
    God I hate it here.

Why do people worry about gun registration (i.e., gun-owner registration) when it so obviously already exists?
