Especially not when they’ve proven themselves entirely unworthy of trust, time after time after time. Which would be the message–the lesson–of just about everything ever written or said by the Founders; a message we’ve forgotten, and a lesson we’ve failed to heed.

Any “liberal” who trots out the tired old “How could they have foreseen…” trope in support of trashing another part of the Constitution simply underscores how badly they’ve missed the whole damned point: they DID foresee–with perfect clarity–and tried to warn us, with their own bitter experience and ultimate triumph as the starkest of backdrops. All we have done, in our arrogance and hubris, is confirm their grim prophecy. The failure of vision is ours, not theirs.
