Don’t call ’em death panels

They just hate it when you tell the truth like that, you know. They’re “ethics panels” now.

Caller: Basically what the document stated was that if you were over 70 and you’d come into an emergency room and you’re on government supported health care, that you’d get “comfort care”.

Mark Levin: Wait a minute…what’s the source for this?

Caller: This is Obama’s new health care plan for advanced neurosurgical care.
Mark Levin: And who issued this? HHS?

Caller: Yes. And basically they don’t call them patients, they call them units. And instead of – they call it “ethics panels” or “ethics committees”, would get together and meet and decide where the money would go for hospitals, and basically for patients over 70 years of age, that advanced neurosurgical care was not generally indicated.

Mark Levin: So it’s generally going to be denied?

Caller: Yes, absolutely…If someone comes in at 70 years of age with a bleed in their brain, I can promise you I’m not going to get a bunch of administrators together on an ethics panel at 2 in the morning to decide that I’m OK to do surgery.

No wonder the Snowbilly Bint makes ’em so mad they could just spit. Time after time, she just keeps on being correct about them and their nefarious schemes, and they haven’t yet found a way to shut her up.

  1. We will be much like Canada, which has no emergency neurological services or helicopter services near a major ski resort. The famous actress Natasha Richardson hit her head in a minor fall and died.

The bureaucracy sees you as a cost, especially if you have already paid. All people and organizations seek income and avoid costs. Socialized or centralized healthcare is paid up-front and delivers services after the fact. How hard will a system work to earn the money that they have already been paid? This is something that everyone can understand in his gut. A customer is lost without competition for his dollar.

  2. Mark Levin – now there’s a reliable source of news. And…who was the caller?
How do you know the caller was actually a neurosurgeon, MrRight – I mean zazzle?
Furthermore, this same mythological attempt was dispelled in 2009. Face it, Republicans are very, very desperate at the moment. There currently isn’t a person in the field who can defeat the current president, regardless of his much less-than-stellar performance.
Of course you’ll deny it like you do with Palin unpopularity! They want Caribou Barbie to be correct, they NEED Caribou Barbie to be correct since she’s their ideal candidate for President and she’s not worth as much as my dog’s bowl!

  3. If Obamacare drifts anywhere close to rationing care and/or treatment, what will come about will be something strangely reminiscent of a “death panel”, because then we will be taking decisions about who lives and who dies.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Leftists argued in good faith?

  4. To Questionman,

The caller to Levin could use some verification.

Your link to an article more than two years old has nothing to say about current HHS practice or plans. It doesn’t refute anything. You are living in the past.
